Hiking out in the Morialta area, and trying to sign a few logbooks. Enjoyed the first stop. There was a koala sitting just a few meters away from where I needed to be. Very nice! No problems finding the final, and thank you very much for providing a container of size.TFTC.

Is this the geo cache

22-Mar-23
Found by Magill Cub Pack on our night hike. Thanks for the cache, the Cubs enjoyed finding the first part. We will look for the second part on our next hike.

Coords fixed at waypoint.

13-Aug-22
I had the coords for this cache for a while and now made the journey to the final, where the very large cache was found. Then there was a bit of fun getting the inner cache open - yes thats a tight fit - managed to unscrew the inner cache and sign the log - last found back in early 2021.
A lovely area to walk today after a morning of rain, and good to get an older cache too thats 19 years old.

18-Jun-22
As below, found the first clue but it has been affected by the weather and the co-ordinates have faded.

13-Jun-22
Found the first clue, but co-ordinates were faded and unrecognizable. TFTC

Tricky one but there was a little frog that gave it away

08-Jan-21
This evening, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I travelled to Morialta for a hike around whilst enjoying the balmy hot weather. We walked along a few tracks and ridges that we hadn't visited before, as well as a secluded valley. We managed to pick out blackberries that were starting to ripen, and our highlight was seeing a koala eating gum leaves at ground level just off from the walking track.

This cache had been a target cache for me given its age: A nice oldie 09/2003 hidden cache. I thought that I had visited the posted coordinates / waypoint previously during another Morialta visit, and so as we arrived and started looking, I read back through my notes to discover that we were looking for an intermediate waypoint clue first. Well that megger flora was discovered, but at least the cache wasn't too far away.

Once we were close to GZ, we saw a kangaroo and its joey closely guarding the cache. They disappeared once they realised that we were no random muggles (or so I suspected). The cache wasn't too hard to find given its age, but wow, that is sure one hell of an interference fit - how did the CO even get that container in there?! At least we managed to get the important container neck out enough to gain access. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks [@Freddo](http://coord.info/PR8C14) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

The frog had some maintenance to do so a nice walk down to this one, well let’s turn the multi into a field puzzle at GZ, accuse that’s never coming out of there.

Red spanner off. Field puzzle on. I hope you have small hands.

Cache #116
Multi Cache #8

That was fun. Dats a biiig one. log book very wet. Needs some love. Managed to get my name in there. TFTC

02-Jul-19
Log book soaked

01-Jul-19
TFTC I think that is the largest cache I’ve found yet! Love the first location, wouldn’t want to reach in there in summer. Cache had quite a bit of water and log book was soaked. Couldn’t sign. Emptied out and stored upside down to help drain.

21-Apr-19
Quite a hike up the hill to this one but worth it. TFTC

30-Mar-19
Had hoped to pick up Big Kahuna today which has been burning a hole in my phone for years, sadly I couldn't work out how to get to it. So Instead after I left the geohusband and hound I headed up Hogan's track to look for this one.
I found the megger fauna and then wandered back down the hill to make the huge find. Unfortunately the lid is damaged and the container had an inch of water in the bottom which was a bit rancid. Emptied out the water and signed the damp log (bag is ruined so not keeping log book dry). Good to read back through some of the old logs.
The toys inside (including a plush toy) stank so it was all a bit feral at GZ really. But it was still fantastic to find a large quite a rarity in my stats anyway.

found with anymules. Always good to see a old cache in place. I do like hiking around this hills, i just need more time to do it.

09-Sep-17
Many Occular Inspectors Seeking Treasures group organised a group assault on Quipu Cliff at Morialta. The Sal part of brisal loves a good walk and my Geologist geo son wanted to lick a few rocks. Surprised So arriving early at the parking area and not seeing to many free spots up the hill I decided to drive down the bottom and collect a few smilies on the way up. Cool Quipu Cliff turned out to be a DNF but now it was time to walk back to the car and collect a few more smilies. Razz
Megger-fauna equals megger cache. Couldn't really miss it. A nice quick find. Smile
But now it was decision time. Hogan's track or Hogan's Hill trail to get back down.
We had come up neither but made our way from The Giants cave to Quipu Cliff.
We chose wrong. We went down the steep and very slippery Hogan's Hill trail. Surprised
Up until now I hadn't chalked up up any of my caching trilogy.
Having finished all the caches I was to do for the day I managed a fall and blood on the way back to the car. My caching day is now complete. Red Face
Thanks Megger Freddo for the cache. Big Grin

1-D Star or 5-D star, I love my MultiCaches! This one was no exception Smile Grabbed me the co-ords for the final at the listed co-ords and made my way to a whopping big cache at 09:50 on Sat 10 Dec 2016 [^] TNLN TFTC Freddo for a fun Multi in a lovely Conservation Park Smile

Heading up this way to take care of a solved puzzle and D/T grid combination in one hit, and this one was on the way. I've been though this area a few times before, but they were part of a night time hike with a large group of muggle friends and stopping wasn't really an option. Also I was heading in the wrong direction. Today was a different story, and I found both stages without issue and undisturbed.

Loved the cache size, what an enormous container! TFTC Freddo!

13-Oct-15
I often have bad luck with multis so I normally avoid them. Today I was hiking nearby to pick up a solved mystery so decided to try my luck.

Stage 1 and the final were both found without problems so maybe my multi voodoo has been lifted.

Thanks for the fun cache.

Love a large cache in the bush. Easy multi with a bit of exercise thrown. A fav pt from me.

I'm positive the terrain difficulty should be raised from 2 to 4! Wink Views were great though and in the end the cache was worth the effort. Thanks for bringing us here. Had a great day.

A nice easy cache geo daughter says, and it’s by Freddo so it will be worthwhile. We hadn't been into Morialta for some weeks and the temperature was kind so I thought why not. When we got to the car park and confirmed the direction I knew we were in for a personal challenge. Sporting a moonboot from a previous geo incident I was now too committed to back out now wasn't I?

So off we go, me hobbling up the hill and bringing up the rear. The GPS seemed to be stuck on 130m from the first reference point for far too long as we weaved and hobbled up the side of the hill. We eventually levelled off and stopped for a drinks break prior to starting the ground search for reference one.

Ha ha ha I should have seen this one coming! Freddo you didn't disappoint. Both spots were brilliantly established and I would do it all over again, including with boot. Well worth a favourite. PS, the odd looks we got as we came down from the trail into the car park were hilarious. Must have been the sweat stains!

We enjoyed a nice stroll up Hogans Track this morning to find this cache. We paused just short of the listed waypoint to watch a Koala with her baby in a tree nearby, and grabbed some pics of them. The initial animal was soon located and the new coordinates entered, and we were off to the impressive cache container. Great views in almost all directions from here today.

Thanks Freddo.

Hiking up to Pretty corner decided to stop for this one. it was worth the stop!! Thanks for the cache.

Found It!
First one for my day of geosportz caching - First up: find a cache larger than 20 litres!
This was one of the few in SA that I can solve and haven't found...
There was no view at all today due to all the fog...

On our way to pretty corner and spotted this one. Geoniece found the clue and off we went. Great cache. Good distraction as hiking complaints were coming. Enthusiasm increased. Tftc

31-Mar-12
Last year, Chillibutts put out a challenge to the geocachers of SA: who can find the most Freddo caches in two hours. I finally got around to giving it a go but, having already found so many of Freddo's easy ones, I came up with a grand total of two. Perhaps it wasn't such a good idea to do this one as part of the challenge.

Started the summer with a change in our evening walks - great to watch the storm come in, and all the rain, but it sure didn't feel summery! Enjoyed the adventure racing the storm, but in the end it went too far west. We win by default. TFTC

01-Dec-10
Rather than going for a walk around the local area we decided that it would be much more fun to race the storm by trying to do this cache before the rain came in. Only just made it we think, as the storm never really came, but there was some rain. Go figure!

Walking in we were treated to some great views of the approaching storm, and so decided to pick up the pace a bit. Once at WP1 we spotted the owner, and he provided us with the information we required. Quickly on our way we made it to GZ for a very easy find. After all you can't really miss it!

A quick scribble in the log book before returning the cache to it's "hiding spot" and back on our way up the hill again. The return leg treated us to a much closer view of the storm that never eventuated, but hey it looked cool!

A nice walk in the park.

Out caching with MissyLJ and on approach to the first point of the multi we were sprung by Team Dani and then we all got busted by Mr O'cholio. We all then attended the second and final point together. Took one of Mr O'cholio's geo coins and then moved onward to the next cache Smile

28-Aug-10
After a few weeks off from some bushwalking, it was time to head back to Morialta.... to get back in touch with nature, and of course some caching Smile. Nowhere2Bseen led the way, up the steep slippery track, and finally to a wonderful hill with a beautiful view of the city and surrounds.
Heading towards the first point we came across TeamDani also searching for the same cache, and then we were sprung by o'cholio. This was my first time meeting other Geocachers, so was a lovery surprise, and great to meet them all Big Grin
Co-ordinates in hand (or GPS rather) off we trundled to GZ, and oh what a lovely large cache it was... full of lots of interesting things. We took a geocoin that o'cholio was dropping in there, signed the log, then headed off to find our next cache. TFTC

28-Aug-10
A well-placed cache that was on the path of Mr O's little adventure today, 13.3km according to the track log. Very convenient due to another multi nearby that took me past the spot, and convenient as two other caching teams were already busy doing the finding when I got to the first stage. Nice big cache, the two coins I dropped in didn't even touch the sides. TFTC Freddo.

28-Aug-10
Long tough climb from the road below for us. Met nowhere2Bseen and MissyLJ coming from the opposite direction, then just as we got the coordinates for GZ, o'cholio joined the party. An enjoyable multi with an unusually large cache that was well worth the effort. TNLNSL TFTC

What a find...what a night..!

Finding a multiple cache in the dark (10:00pm) was a great experience.

Perfect overcast night, no wind and the only noise to be heard was that of an owl. Jokingly mentioned that we should just follow the sound of the owl and not the GPS. The incredible thing was, that when we located the cache, the owl was sitting in a tree across from it. The owl stopped hooting and left once we located the first clue..?

The cache animal was a surprise (maybe the owl wanted this for dinner?), not what you expect, when your head torch lights it up in the night. Nice touch though.

The view while we were up there was perfect.

The final location was nicely hidden with lots to choose from inside the cache, however, we could not resist taking the 'GEOCOIN', which coincidently, was just dropped off that afternoon.

Have a special place for this one very soon..!

Overall, really enjoyed the search.

A typical quirky Freddo hide that put a smile on the dial that the inclement weather couldn't remove, thanks.

Thanks for the cache. Met some friends at the first falls car park and enjoyed the walk up the gully. Boys left a collection of toys and took a collection to deposit in the next cache.

[Ouch, ouch, ouch - my feet really hurt!
We tried driving to as close as we could get with the GPS but realised that sliding down a hill full of brush wouldn't be fun.
Then we took what we thought was the right trail, but the signage wasn't helpful so we took the hard way up.
After finding the cache, we took the easy way down until an intersection where we proceeded to take the hard way down by mistake.]

The animal that was supposed to be sitting on the lillypad at the first point is gone, but the bit with the co-ordinates is still there.

[Despite the hike, lack of food and drink on the way, we had a lot of fun.

Since this was Montag's first cache, he took the geography badge and we left a little toy dog to chase the toy cat already in the cache.

Now that really is what we call Mega! The largest cache we've ever seen. Surprised We found the first point ages ago - but missed the clue in the dash to get to work Red Face, so today it was a much more leisurely walk up the hill and an easy find. [^] TFTC.

Find 544 My Way without a GPS at 11.00am
After many bushwalking ventures over 2 years ago (pre geocaching days) I am familiar with the area.
Today I tackled this one with prior knowledge of the final co-ords thanks to some friends but left home without the Google Earth image for the final location. The friends had given me a description of the approx. location of the cache and I actually spotted the likely location on the way to WP1. Easily found WP1 after guessing how far it was along the track. Then returned and found the cache at the location I saw before.
Took Nothing
Left a Koala.
Thanks Freddo for the challenge.

This was our first cache. Took nothing, left nothing.

I have to admit, I imagined the cache would be bigger than it was - but impressive nonetheless! When we (Racingstripes and I) got within about 100m of the cache, the meaning of the clue dawned on us (bahh Wink)! Anyway, I'm not sure what I took, but I left a TB (Buzz Lightyear).

Did this as a warm up for what to was follow today.
That hill 2 stars? phhfgtt.

So there are easier ways of approaching this than zig zagging up the hill (it was only 200m on the GPS)..... Still the views make the climb worthwhile. Found the animal trying to escape, so put it back where it belonged. Cache was located quickly and is still in good condition with contents and log book dry.
