Great walk on this lovely sunny Sunday. But sadly as we thought wasn't to be found.
After finally finding my way to the GZ (the GPSr wanted me to drive over a river without a bridge) I then had a good chance to check out GZ without muggles. No sign of a regular, or even a nano cache there! Please check and maintain.
After a very long and intense search, we were unable to locate this cache. The only major steps proved difficult to find anything, nor did the other steps earlier on. Although we were unable to locate this cache, the walk itself was very lovely and the views across the water back to the stone village were glorious. Lots of lovely tuis throughout the trees
4 of us had a thorough look in the indicated area and no luck. Had the company of an inquisitive Fantail though.
Had to go up North for a family wedding and had a couple of hours spare so...... had a nice wee walk up to this cache. Both logbooks were full so left one of my temporary ones.
Nice to see an old cache still in action.
Cheers for the cache.

Amazing, I reported no sign of it on 11-Oct-2012 after conducting a thorough area search by two people, yet it was allegedly found by Peter_nzl the next day, I'm guessing exactly where it is documented to be. Revisited the site with the same associate three months later and there it is - unmistakably obvious - any ideas what happened to it on 11th Oct last year? Needs maintenance, there are two full log books and an almost full sheet of writing paper in lieu of a third book, but no pen or pencil. Lots of nicknacks all in good shape due to screw-on lid. Took & left nothing.
FOund this morning while out on a leisurely stroll. Always great to get an oldie such as this one. TFTC

Ok so we have the gist of it after all, an easy find, just a note the log book is full

Visited Kororipo Pa today Friday 12-Oct-2012 15h30 NZDT. Coordinates set up well, the steps mentioned in the clue were discovered (the only steps anywhere near the the site), but no cache to be found despite thorough search.
I like this calm place and view. Travel bug out - it will travel to Australia soon

A pleasant walk, fabulous view and a chat to a DoC worker who wanted to know why we had a GPS. He knew about the caches in the area but didn't know about geocaching. (We might have a convert now.) He told us that the steps will be replaced soon, but promised to keep the cache intact. Have left a Boomerang TB to start its journey home to Adelaide.
The travel bug I have in my possession wants to visit historical sites. How appropriate! TB visit.
We really enjoy our Sunday afternoon stroll around the Stone Store basin today - 3 caches we did today. This one was great lovely walk and hunt for the kids and dog.
Have never been here before, so we really enjoyed the history. Log books both full, but I did still find a spot to log on. TFTC
Out with tikitour and another friend - also to take in local patchwork exhibition. Had lunch down at the 'Pear Tree' - yum yum, then wandered up to Kororipo - I have my doubts about the terrain rating - to me a 1 star is like on the road/drive by - but anyway it was a pleasant if somewhat hot walk... Discovered some TBs TFTC

(287) Not a very nice day to visit this site but the benefit to that was the very low muggle-count.

Used to come up here and play all the time just a few years ago....great place! TFTC!!
A nice stroll from the carpark, stopping to read at some of the history boards on the way. No muggles in sight and a quick and easy find. Thanks Silver Horse.
Beautiful day, if a little gloopy underfoot after the recent rain. The youngest of the clan found this one. Left a guitar pick. TFTC!
D+D again great historic area always liked it here .Saw heaps of quail. Nice rubber gloves !
Today we finally visited the historic centre of Kerikeri and were impressed by history and sights at this pa site. TFTC!
PS: Logbooks 1 and 2 are full, some spare sheets of paper are inside and will take some more logs.

Closest cache to our new home base in Kerikeri - and a great reason to explore the local terrain. Despite the season, not a muggle in sight except for the two refugees from a wedding party encountered on the track in hopelessly innappropriate attire. TNLNSL and beat a retreat from the sun. T4TC
3rd cache of the day - another good one - TFTC. This time found by Smeyes.Took fly, left spiderman (hee hee) and also dropped off The Vinyard TB.
My how this area has changed... nice walk in the shady bush and a cache at the end.TB+ t4tc
Mrs budokan and I were on a small road trip and called into the nearby cafe for lunch which included a cold cider in the sun. Walked to this one to lessen the guilt. Enjoyed the area and although having spent a bit of time in this town hadnt noticed this spot before. -TB tftc
A quick easy find in an interesting historical area, on a very pleasant evening now the rain has finally stopped. TFTC
Nice quick find with Kyle891. Not a soul in sight today! Container could do with re-camoing.. TFTC
