I still need more practice at navigating to co-ords without a big fat compass and/or a big fat map guiding the way. At least I have the co-ords for GZ now (I think) so I can find the final cache another time.
TFTH! [EDIT: Just checking the co-ords and I was going the right way and would have passed within 50m of the cache! arrrggghhhh! haha]

I needed a quick cache today so I drove down and parked the car in the nearest side street. I did not enjoy walking along Lady Game Drive, especially with my back to the traffic, but it wasn’t too far and once in the relative calm of the bush I was soon at GZ for an almost instant find. I didn’t quite expect that.
Thanks for the cache zijerfex, and for keeping it alive despite the demise of WPT2.
Found with Waterfist & Dinkyfish.
I'm lichen this as a good intro to GC. TFTC.
May check it out another time when down. (Ended up finding a Multi closer to where I used to live)
Parked right next to WP1 and gathered the required information then did the maths. Read further down the instructions did more maths and had a likely gz located.
Headed down the road and parked near the entrance took the walk in and spent 5 mins wandering around and over the place till there it is a nice sized cache.
I really enjoyed doing this puzzle as it was one that could be done quickly but was not too easy to get to.
Thanks to Zijerfex for this one.
Thanks for the cache zijerfex
Cheers from Browngang.
A nice little adventure getting into there and some interesting history of the area. Not sure what the hint meant - still don't know.
Thanks zijerfex.
DNF. EDTAM26 thought she had the coordinates wrong after we had searched for a while in the scorching sun. Will try again some other time.
Thanks zijerfex for a challenging multi!
Came down from Newcastle this morning for a spot of caching before heading off to NZ the following day, and with plenty of time to spare, I wanted to grab a couple of multi caches. Parked right next to WP1 where the info was soon gathered, and then with a further calculation...it was off to GZ. The coords put me in a very likely spot, but after searching through the options, I eventually widened the search area by 10m or more to find the cache. A nice little multi, and nice to have completed it.

I opened the online logbook on my phone and had a read. Clearly in the wrong spot. But maybe not that wrong. A bit of a scout around and I spied a path (about 30 metres from the gz I calculated) heading off to an area that fitted the log descriptions. Yep, this looked much more promising. I soon found what had to be gz - but no cache!
Much searching ensued but with no result. I stopped and sat on the rock that I was sure was gz and again revisited the online logs. A couple of clues made me prod in a slightly different spot - et voila! The cache. Signed and put back as found, complete with naturally accruing camo. Slight dampness in the cache itself, but hopefully the coming warmer weather will worth that out.
I realise my gz calculation error now, and am thankful that it was only slight. Thanks zijerfex, enjoyed this one a lot.

Today I had the car (an unusual event) and some spare time and headed to GZ. It took quite a search. Indeed, I had turned back at one point, defeated, and then decided to give it one last go. The GPS was not exactly stable, but I think the coords are off by maybe 12m. I spent ages on a spot that I thought the hint was suggesting, but in the end abandoned that and looked for the lichen pattern photo clue. This took me to a place I had searched before, but gave it a more thorough search and there it was.
Slightly moist, but intact and in good shape.
Left a GC. TN SL. TFTC

Now I can sleep ay night.
Took tiny tea cup and left mivv exhaust sticker. signed log (yes it is slightly damp).
Bring a pen or pencil, as there is none in the box.

My first attempt at this was 20 May 2006 .... how time flies !!!

We had two sets of coordinates loaded - one based on WP2 and the limited-time-only correction, and another based on a different interpretation of the instructions. The two coordinates were both close to the path, and 18m apart, so we walked along and decided the first was more likely.
We arrived at an obvious place to hide a cache, but it wasn't there. The GPS pointed to one side of where we were so we scrambled over there and looked again. We were just about to scramble down and look lower, when Geoson spotted it!
We signed the slightly damp but perfectly OK log, and replaced as found. Thanks for the hunt and another nice place.

Returned this afternoon leaving TLM Grandmother in the car while I searched. After 10 minutes or so used the PAF to Blossom who gave me an idea of GZ. Unfortunately after searching where I thought she meant and where the GPS wanted me to be for 20 minutes or so all I had was cut hands and no cache.
This called for more assistance and Blossom volunteered to help me in return for a couple of GCA finds. Finally located - GPS at GZ 15m. It was a very cloudy day.
A short romp in the bush and I quickly achieved CIH!
Retrieved the '2009 Victoria Bushfire Appeal Geocoin' to move to the Blue Mountains. LNSL.
Cache container was in good shape, and the contents -- including the log book -- were dry.
The coordinates I finally obtained from the clue were 10-12 metres off and I think I was lucky to find the cache in amongst all the rocks. This could easily have been a much longer search.
Many thanks to zijerfex!

I was heading home for the day and close by about 9.15am aand the traffic was shocking, so I figured I would be better off spending some time in the bush looking for a cache rather than sitting in crawling traffic, so grabbed the GPS and pulled up the GZ co-ords I had plotted previously when intended to head there but did not manage to do so.
Parked on the side of the road (eastbound - yes, narrow, but near a firetrail access it is wide enough to park - just watch for traffic before you get out/in the car) near WP2. Overall I spent about 40 minutes looking for this I think, The GPS took me to within 4M straight up, but immediately then said I needed to go another 30M away, so it did take a while to get the corrent search area. THen I looked at the approx GZ and up to 6?M to the left, twice - before finally realising that I should also look to the right, and then I spotted the container within a minute.
Signed the log, left Milwaulke TB and a ROT13 decoder tag. Thanks for the cache, it was a long (some months) time between stages.
Cheers
Last time I went looking for this one I too got stuck at WP2 (little did I know it had been muggled!)... I had walked in from Lane Cove Road and the route to WP2 was blocked by the creek - I was not going to get stuck 30 metres from where I needed to be so I sucked it up and waded through the creek, at times almost hip deep as it turned out!! After doing that and not managing to find the waypoint suffice to say it was a long, soggy walk back to the car!
Today, armed with the clue from the owner, I headed directly to GZ!! After lots of scrabbling, peering and searching I managed to find the elusive little bugger but again I'd been foiled... NO PEN! Despite not signing I am logging with kind permission of the owner.
This cache has certainly been a memorable adventure! Many thanks
I checked on the cache yesterday and noticed the works in the area, but these are not near the waypoint location.
However, unfortunately, WPT has been muggled and is now gone.
Good news though is that the cache itself is still secure and in good nick at GZ.
So, for a limited time only, the cache description has been modified to lead you directly to GZ until I can return with waypoint repair kit to reinstate the infamous WP2.
Happy Hunting

Next time. Would be nice to know if it's still there.
With a new GPS bought only yesterday and some clues from hunter/finder, I headed back to look for GZ again. The new gps showed me the correct side of the track to look this time and we clambered and scambled around for quite a while. After looking in every likely spot about 6 times each, we looked in a few pretty unlikely spots for a while. Then back to the more likely spots again. Eventually strike-a-light looked in a new likely spot and found the cache! For all those who follow, the higher level is better for results. It was great to eventually get this one after so long.
Zijerfex
please note this a a 3 wpt cache. The second wpt is a micro with the gz coords in it. I found this was not made clear in the notes
so, wpt 2 isn't the GZ?? who would have thought?

We have had the WP1 info for about 6 months, but hadn't had the chance to get to the WP2 for a good hunt.
Met Blossom* on the hunt. Always interesting to meet another cacher out in the field. Blossom* was in her Geo-camo bright yellow rain jacket, walking around looking under and over, in and out. As we approached I offered the geocachers greeting ... "Have you found it yet?" Anyway Blossom* was after the Kangaroo TB from the Geocash cache which is in this cache.
We all together searched for a while without success, so I decided to phone a friend .... Wandering Wilko was forthcoming with the appropriate clue (thanks mate), and we were off and into it again. However, the wet weather and terrain were against us so we chose to abandon the search, and we all left with no result.
When we got back to the car, Geo-son suggested giving it one more go .... so we did.
A couple minutes later Geo-son had it in hand. This one took a while to finish, but was well and truly worth it in the end.

Cache # 259
GZ played with the GPS for a while until I knocked into something and asked Hagar "What is this?".
Nice hide - and lots of crawling guardians around.
Took a Japanse doll and left a "snake pen".

Well, I guess time between finds is what helps caches like these. There is HEAPS of it around and it just happens to find its way down to completely obscure a cache.
In the end the coords are within 3m of where I found the cache.
Had to search for a while but the clue Hunter/Finder gave me began to dawn and soon the cache was in hand.
Thanks for a very enjoyable cache that has helped me to learn new techniques and be more mindful of what to look out for.
Thanks zijerfex.
Took nothing.
Left Red Gecko Geocoin.
This is one mean hide made worse by the amount of leaf litter over it. I even walked over it on the first pass.
Made swaps with small toys.
Signed log and sat in the sun and enjoyed the moment.
Thanks Zijerfex for the hunt and richary for the hint.
Hunter/Finder
Well, I looked, and looked and looked. Went home for lunch. Came back and searched and searched and searched some more.
As per previous log, there is lots of evidence of Bush Regeneration Brigade doing there bit.
Went home dejected.
Will have to come back later if it hasn't been muggled.

The walk in to WP2 was easy but the search lasted 1/2 hour or so before I decided to phone a friend. Seems I was a little way off from the hiding spot.
The hint I was given still kept me guessing for a little while though, but after another 15 minutes or so the GZ coords were in hand. The final gave me no troubles, though I kept an eye on my surroundings as I did not really want to come face to face with that red belly from an earlier log. No swaps today but I did pick up the coin in the cache. TFTC SL

Terrain guide updated - probably was a little optimistic, but was meant to factor in the road hazard as well

The smile on my face lit up the surrounding area when at last I lay eyes on it, within 10 minutes of beginning my search. I can see now, how it has fooled so many before me.
It is extremely well hidden in it's hidey hole and blends in quite nicely with the....... Not only that, considering it has been here untouched for almost 11 months, nature has added its own camoflage, making it almost invisible.
And such a large cache too, perfect for the swaggie (sumbios) that I was going to leave behind. It fit quite nicley inside. Cache is in pristine condition, just waiting for the next cacher to come along.
I removed the lollies ( no one is going to eat those). The expiry date of June 04, told me how long they had been there. Into the trash they go!
I sat there leisurley reading the log book and trying to listen to nature but the constant traffic noise interrupted my thoughts.
Packed everything up, replaced the cache and added my own camoflage after disturbing what nature had put there.
Walked back out the way I came ( along the pipeline track) and back to the car. A very pleasant caching experience.
Now it will be fun watching others trying to find the waypoints and GZ!!! Go on, get out there and have a go!
Gained access by parking in Blaxland Rd then walking into Allen Park and onto the Great North Walk. Turned right at the small pipeline and followed this. There is a track the whole way to wpt2. A longer option but safer than trying to access from Lady Game Drive.
Found wpt 2 without any problems, ie after I actually searched on the correct side.
Wpt 2 is intact, high and dry and coords in good condition.
Off to GZ and this is where I became unstuck, I need HELP.
Everyone else seems to have had difficulty with Wpt 2 and found GZ easily. Well I must be back to front!
I'm not giving up. I shall return!
Searched for WP2 for another good 40mins without any sign of it - too much tree cover to get a good fix. I think I will have to give this one up as a lost cause.
Didn't realise I was searching for WP2 not a cache at the next location - must make sure I read all the logs next time!
Will attempt to find before/after my next home match!
