As there's been no cache to find or log to sign for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the near future (next 30 days), just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Appears this cache needs some maintenance - Ive taken it offline until I have a chance to get in and clean it up

10-Mar-11
Cache seal is brocken (one clip is broken off) thus everything has got wet and is starting to rot. Requires new Cache container and log book.

10-Mar-11
Needs urgent maintenance as everything is wet and starting to rot. Unable to sign book as pages too slimy for my pen and don't really want to carve my name instead. Is this on someones property? As according to google maps this has a property number. Either way nice hide, unlike many caches I had to work to find a way in, and probably didn't take the easiest one in the end. Great view of the Yarra River.

17-Feb-11
An awful lot of rain has fallen since the last time this cache was found. Unfortunately the lid had come off the cache container, and when combined with the recent wet weather, has rendered the cache completely waterlogged. This cache needs urgent replacement. I was barely able to write my name in the smelly, soggy logbook. A terrific spot for a cache though.

3rd for HillTribe & Wally today, lovely spot though I'm sure we took the scenic route to gz as usual ! TFTC TNLN

03-Jul-10
After helping the kids set up their tents at a nearby scout camp, I went in search of a couple of caches I'd been meaning to do for ages. Parked the car at the end of the road and set off down the track. Near the GZ, I had to hike up the hill a bit, but it was fairly easy going. A very picturesque scene today with green moss covering most of the ground and the sun peeping through the trees and the mist.

Thanks Threepwood - Great spot

27-May-10
Nice. Took nothing left nothing.

22-May-10
Enjoying caching in this area. Nice little hike up the hill. First nearly going into some private property. Long way to walk to the local shops from here.
Thanks for the cache.

Our 5th cache for today I helped Crustyvarmint with this cache and we found it @ 14:15hrs.
A good cache and I have to wonder what anybody would be doing up here in the middle of nowhere.
Took the little green car
Left a small LED torch

We found it at 4.00 p.m.

Took a toy camera/water pistol and put in a sticker

Thanks,

Out walking a few tracks with the young daughter on my shoulders today (geez... they get heavy quickly) Razz.
We passed almost no one on this very pleasent track. I think they were all busy at the Warrandyte festival today. That last bit was a bit steep but we made it in the end.
TNLN.

Cheers Threepwood, thanks for bringing us to somewhere we'd never been to before.

21-Mar-10
After completing a weekend scout camp nearby we thought we would grab a few caches on the way home. This being the first we did not expect to be terrain to be so steep. All good though as M again spotted the hide first. TNLNSL. TFTC. KeMs

#197 Yet another area we hadn't been to before - thanks for bringing us there. Great views and a nice walk - bit of a challenge up and down the bank for my aging legs! TNLN SL. Thanks Threepwood.

26-Jan-10
Found it with our caching buddies...the "Smellie 6". After pushing geo-kids up the start of the slope, they raced ahead and found the cachebefore the keeper of the GPS was anywhere near the spot. They are getting way too good at this! It was a beautiful day, and what a nice way to burn off the gizillion calories we ate at breakfast. Time to go home and make lunch now! Took a snake, left a cochroach. TFTC

Find # 734 @ 13:33 with jaffnut on our Warrandyte area cache clean up day.
This was my 5th and relatively easy find after a bit of a climb up the bank to the cache. Passed the adjacent land owner out brush cutting his fence line.
TN but left the Dancing Girl TB.
Thanks for the cache Threepwood.

05-Dec-09
Found at 13:33 with 3up on a day of caching in the area. My 6th for the day. We took the Pigeon Rd access and it wasn't overgrow, although we walked along the path until the cache was showing 90deg to our right and then climbed the steep bank. Left Mr Rumble and a Batman Card, took nothing. Dropped off a TB. Thanks once again for the cache Threepwood

Great spot for a cache. One of those, "yep that's where it will be." Not too much thinking involved, no wasting time searching for the darn thing! REALLY recommend everyone take the path down to the river...beautiful spot and a very friendly duck was willing to sniff out anything thrown in the water!
After leaving, saw some teens walking up the hill, after seeing them floating by earlier. They had to walk back to Warrandyte where they started, as they were told it was just a short walk back if they floated this far!!
Gave 1 of them a lift to their car, to pick up the others.
1 Great Cache & 1Good Deed.
Good-sized cache and well-stocked...
Thanks for bringing us here.

10-Jan-09

So after the RACV call we went hunting and located the cache.

26-Jan-08
Found at 0640. After reading the title of the cache, I had to make a detour to come and find this one having completed all 4 of the Monkey Island games years ago. Luckily there was no LeChuck to contend with.....or Stan for that matter. Great area for an early morning walk.

TNLN. TFTC.

found at 15:00 hrs.
The most difficult part was to find the car park.
A nice walk and a easy find.
We took the book from bookcrossing.com and we left the TB Scarabeo Morto.
thx. we'll go on to the next one.

27-Dec-07
It was only upon opening the log book that the name made sense, and that of El Pollo Diablo. I just bought and completed Monkey Island a few weeks ago, I loved it!

The views from this cache were the highlight of the day for me, it was hot and all I wanted to do was go for a swim. The cache was nicely covered by the previous finders and I made sure to do the same.

Thanks for showing me the great views,

R - B

23-Dec-07
Found @ 16:30.

2 days before Christmas! And what better way for Dad to keep the kids entertained for the afternoon? This was the second cache for the day and had us scratching our head for a while, especially when the GPS appeared to be directing us onto private property. After backtracking a bit, we finally decided to head bush where we came across GZ. Thanks for the wonderful views and the adventure Threepwood.

Took - Chinese coin (GeoJunior 11's choice this time)
Left - Koala

Day two of 'welcome to geocaching' with cdmark.

The coordinated had us puzzled initially - mainly trying to figure out an access point to get in the right direction. cdmark almost had to catch me as I nearly slipped at one stage - saved by a sturdy sappling.

Managed to return the favour as cdmark retrived a ball situated a little more precariously than the log describes.

TNLN but enjoyed the trek.

22-Jul-07
Second find of the day with our friends that have now been introduced to the somewhat addictive world of geocaching. Weather was fantastic for a stroll through the area, and nice views of the river below. A quick scramble to GZ and the cache was soon in hand. A nice hide and cache remains in good nick. D would have nabbed the book crossing book but she had already read it, plus the new Harry Potter was keeping her busy. Made the swaps with GeoJnr selecting the large bouncy ball which he proceeded to test its bounce by throwing it along the path. Needless to say that it ended part way down the embankment wedged in a tree! There were tears and life and limb was risked to retrieve. All ended well. TFTC Threepwood (Guybrush is that you?). Cheers.
T: Rubber Ball.
L: Pinball Game.

An easy find in a lovely location found with a bit of help from Bella on a cold wet afternoon. Took small rubber ball and left a Japanese ‘holey’ coin.

12-Jul-07
Looked this one up first and found a fire trail in to the area, which worked well. Had to do some scrambling a bit later on, though. A fairly broad search had the cache in hand.

Took: Simpsons figure, keyring, doll pencil, frog
Left: stationery kit, car, giant balloon, water squirter, gel pen, large bouncy ball, snake

07-Jul-07
I arrived here with Oenze and as he had found it before he put on the kettle for a cuppa while I made the trek to GZ. Nice easy find and back for a hot cup of tea on a cold wintery morning. Thanks for the cache.

08-Jun-07
Found @ 10:00am.

I came in from the Pigeon Bank Lane end, parking at the end of Yarra River Ct. An easy walk in, then a scramble. Lovely views of the river. Cache was easy to find. TNLN. TFTC!

Found this on my first geocaching trip, only to find that my GPS's batteries went flat at the car park... so with the hint and a vague concept of there the cache may be, i headed out and eventually find it! Great location and look forward to going back in the next few months when all the orchids come up!
Took: Golf Ball
Left: Green Frog

Found this cache on the way back from looking at a house that caught the reluctant spouse's eye. The house was not as he hoped, but the cache was what I had hoped for. A great walk, a bit of scrabbling around, and I was the one to find it. Yay!

Left Australia key ring, took green pin.

Thanks, Threepwood.

21-Oct-06
Found by Pickupfamily Mum and Dad about 11:40am. It was convenient that the kids were away with the grandparents for the weekend as they would have struggled up the embankment. A peaceful spot, felt like a "good old-fashioned" cache. TNLN. TFTC.

How did you find this stump? We had directions and still walked around in circles. Smile
We were being watch from the trees by a possum (his eyes were picking up the torch light). I hope he didn't see when we returned the cache.
Didn't see the river view as it was pitch black.
Thanks, Robmc.

20-Oct-06
Another one by torchlight and only one head torch between us so I'm amazed I didn't poke out an eye on all those spindly twigs. Anyway all done and dusted and on to the next.
Many thanks

Reasonably easily in a part of the river that I haven't been to and enjoyed. Amazingly I had been down this road previously looking for another cache on the other side of the river. T Snake, L Shoe. Thanks

14-Apr-06
Found at 2:16pm. Accompanied by the GeoMrs as navigator and scribe.
5th find out of 6 for the day. What a walk, quite challenging on the way back to the car, quite challenging for a person of my fitness level.
In: horse, Out: mondo, Signed Log.
Thanx Threepwood...[D:]

14-Jan-06
Have been meaning to do this for some time. In fact, since Alsume lost their car! The track in from the east has been cleared (badly) and it was a relatively easy find. Being a mountain goat would have been a help at one point. One of us pointed out that we were in a kunzea forest.
Took a yellow marker pen and left a samurai doll and card.
Thanks for the river views

07-Jan-06
Have been meaning to do The Big Woop since we discovered Geocaching - finally got there. Great one to do at the end of a warm day. Took bouncy ball, left teeny tiny trophy and a doll pencil.

02-Jan-06
A sunny public holiday saw us venture out to this lovely part of the world to first find a cache and then to go downhill to paddle our toes in the Yarra.

Took: Pencils & pencil case.
Left: Highlighter and glue stick.

Thanks Threepwood.

Found at 4.05PM With SDM Geo.

After finishing off the new injectors in SDM's car I dragged him out to some caches. This one being my second out of 6 for the day.

SDM had already come to do this cache before, so he stayed on the track, being quiet on where it was. I headed up, GPS brought me straight to GZ and I made an easy find. Must I say a nice walk along the river. Thanks for the cache from M.B

TNLNSL.

26-Aug-05
Last cache for the day and found at 5.50pm as a GAFF1. Interesting walk along the edge of the Yarra and to see how steep the slopes are. Thanks Threepwood. Took: Pliers key ring, Left: Bouncy ball.

3.30pm
Found by Roma and Max.
This was a very secluded spot and the road back out really tested the Romax Camper's hill climbing capabilities!
We took a Small Mirror and left a Mondo Figurine.
Thanks Threepwood.

Found at approx 1045. TNLN.
A nice little walk to the cache and we were happy it was an easy find! Very steep roads around here!!!

17-Jul-05
This was I nice easy one once I got to the Co-ords. However I decided to use the GPS to find the next closest from WOnky Bridge. mmm closest as the crow flies but not by car. Took stickers left keyring pliers.
Thanks for the Treasure. Good day out.

16-Jul-05
This was the eighth of fifteen caches found with Team Crackers today. It appeared as though the rain had settled in for the day. I think that we approached this one from the most difficult direction. After much slipping and sliding the cache was located and the logbook hastily signed. It was then time to head back to the car to dry off a little before our next cache attempt.
Thanks Threepwood

16-Jul-05
Found at 15:40, our eighth cache for the day while out with Cracker Girl. I think we may have approached this one the hard way. With the rain still falling our climb was more slipping and slidding than climbing. We found the cache easily and filled out the log and made the swaps. Our descent was much easier but a lot wetter.
Took Pig Stickers
Left Earring Stickers.
Thanks Threepwood for showing us this great river views.

18-Jun-05
Over the last few months or should i say 2 years I have been busy in-between back operations trying to catch up on missed logs and actually logging them. It appears we found this cache and a few other on this day around this area (Pirtek).

So as I catch up I must say thank you to the cache owner Threepwood for the cache.

Regards

17-Jun-05
A very enjoyable lunch and a 'catch up' with my friend Robyn in Warrandyte today had us deciding what to do with the rest of the afternoon.Smile I produced my GPSr and said, "Do you feel like doing something special"? I could hardly hold her back. Robyn was with me when I found some in Wodonga during a tennis girls weekend. The good news is that Robyn found it, and was hoping to do more.Big Grin Pity she had business at home in the form of a new Boxer pup to attend to. There will be other days.Cool Thanks Threepwood. I have been meaning to do this for some time.Big Grin

IN: $1 Aussie coin
OUT: Kinder surprise

12-Jun-05
Smile After going around in circles for a bit, think the GPS was playing up, found the cache at 122pm. Good Spot, just trickly walking away from GZ. Very steep under foot.

Took: Frog
Left: Colour Pencils

Thank you Thyla

P.S Thylo stayed with the car, as no standing sign's everywhere at the end of Koornong Rd.

nice little walk and some great views of the yarra thanks for this one

05-Apr-05
Found by Bob and Dan at 16:30

As someone else noted, the Southern approach leads to a small area which has no standing signs - and the road in is far too narrow for parking. With a 4WD you can just drive straight up the hill a bit, but I'm not sure if a 2WD could do it.

Anyway, having parked, we enjoyed the rather relaxing walk above the Yarra until we neared GZ - which required a bit more effort, but the cache was soon in hand (we too noted the second Unnatural Pile of Sticks near the cache).

Took: Geocaching sticker
Left: Pair of dice

Thanks Threepwood

02-Apr-05
Cal did the legwork while Ruth waited on the track (some things you just don't do in a wrap-around skirt Wink).

26-Mar-05
Access to this one was a little difficult, as the obvious parking area is a No Standing Zone.

Anyway we had a very pleasant walk to GZ - walking up the ridge line. (It waqs a bit steep returning by the direct route to the path!!)

Took an asian coin and left a stamp pen and Geo sticker in its place.

17-Feb-05
this was a nice easy find, i was intrigued by the sticks and rocks placed in the end of a log close to the actual cache. did you put this there to see how many people would take a look. well it worked, even though i could see where the cache was hidden i could not resist moving these objects for a look. i wonder if anyone else noticed these placed objects.

took earrings and left large bouncy ball.

thanks.

12-Feb-05
The last 70 meters were pretty tough going and we figured that we'd possibly picked the worst route up, but having found it decided that there didn't seem to be too many better options for the way down either. Took nothing, left kinder surprise toy and a recipe card. Thanks for a great walk (and a lot of ducking)

I came in on my bike via Pigeon Bank Road. After a bush bash to find the cache I had quite a climb to get back to Warrandyte. I left a snake and took a Freddo pencil set.

09-Oct-04
This was our second cache, and a great location and walk we hadn't known existed.
Took neck strap
Left earring stickers

By 4 Men and a Lady at 1555 on 26 September 2004 in Convoy with Wine Timers.

After a couple of poor decisions in relation to approach, finally found the best route.

Needed a fair old run up to get to the final GZ but once there was a fairly easy find.

Left - Brass Monkey Coaster
Took - retro clock

Many Thanks Threepwood

26-Sep-04
Found by WINE TIMERS 26/09/04 at 15.55 in company of 4 men and a lady.
Our second for the day, we had a little bit of indecision on the correct approach road but got there in the end.
Had to leave our better halves at the bottom of the cliff.
I got the jump on my mate but lost GPS readings with 35 mtrs to go. He sprinted ahead and found GZ first. Well done BOSS.

Took - tyre gauge
Left - pencil & rubber set

Thanks Threepwood

21-Aug-04
Found at 5:30pm. Thought it an odd named cache and also an odd named team. A nagging thought kept trying to put this together in the back of my mind. When we found the cache, it immediatly rang the bells....ahhhh, Guybrush Big Grin. As per your cache sheet, very nice views of the river on the way from and to the car. Ah, the serenity. There was probably an easy way to walk the last few metres but we didn't find or use it.

Thanks Threepwood from D & S B-A. Took a bouncy ball. Left a Grasshopper.

16-Aug-04
Out with Uncle Gary today while his car was being fixed, we stopped at this cache site.
We approached from the North and the trek was quite short, althrough trying to get from the track to the cache was a tad more difficult for Uncle Gary who was not wearing approriate footwear.
Thank goodness for the clue too. After I finally found the correct place, my GPSr will said it was more than 15m away.
I took a Chicken Run Chicken and left a Bouncy Ball and a Dinosaur.
The trek back to the car was a little easier, although with the lack of fences around here, I could have easily ended up on private property.
Thanks for the cache Threepwood, although like dak's Emu Mob, I don't get the name.

15-Aug-04
Found this cache with S,S & C. Much more trouble finding a car park than the cache. Attempted to enter via Koornung Rd but were confronted by no standing signs everywhere. Eventually found a spot and had a nice walk in. The Yarra was really flowing nearby after yesterday's rain. Should have waypointed the car position as the walk back was somewhat longer !

Took billiard ball key ring.
Left chook.
Thanks Threepwood.

15-Aug-04
Found this one at 10:55, with Lukey-boy, on the way to the next AWG walk. Parked south of GZ in a place that I'm told was a no-standing zone?!?!? Luckily Mr. Plod wasn't out today Red Face. An easy walk followed by a brief climb and cache was quickly in hand.

TNLN although we might have a new player soon Wink

Thanks Threepwood. A beautiful area, particularly after the heavy rain yesterday.

12-Jun-04
The biggest problem with this cache was finding the car park. The first parking area we found had "No Standing" signs everywhere. We wondered why it was built as a car park!! Finally found the entrance lower down (just after crossing the creek) with an open gate (it looks like the gate is closed on days of Total Fire Ban). By the time we got to GZ it was completely dark. After a quick clamber in the dark there it was - at 5:55pm. You really need a good torch for caching in winter. It was quite cool and very peaceful as we wrote the log - just the sound of the river and the gentle huffing of the geo-dogs. Took an Optus puzzle (weird) and left a fluorescent yellow golfball. Thanks Threepwood for the challenge.

11-May-04
What a great name for a cache! However, I still don't know what it means. [|)]

It was a pleasant, cool day for a walk, despite my having a sore Achillies Tendon. I had to 'go bush' at the end to locate the cache, but once at GZ, it gave up without a fight. Thanks for a pleasant walk to a great cache.

IN: [8] key ring, Qantas lanyard
OUT: Toy truck

03-Apr-04
Found at 4pm with no difficulty at all, GPS led us straight to the cache. Had tried this cache a couple of months ago before we got our GPS and obviously didn't come far enough up the hill. Took the red stress dice and left a red pencil case. Didn't see a soul on the track today, not that we were on the track for long. Found an interesting jaw-bone from some critter on the way back from the cache... maybe a cat? grabbed it for further investigation. Thanks Smile

27-Jan-04
Found 14:20, after a brief search, a great location.

Took yellow duck and left large red foam dice, thanks Threepwood.

Found by The ELTHAM Mob after a bit of a search; nice part of the Yarra in this area will need to come back with the canoe.
The search took a while as the Mag 2000 was not in good form today.

T: blue bouncy ball, key chain torch
L: blue earing set, chinese coin, mirror

Contents were a tad damp, have done the best we could to dry things out but the popper was a write off (soggy!)

Nice easy cache in a pleasant location. Contents seem ok after Eltham Mob's efforts earlier in the day.

Took the candle.
Left an Optus bendy toy thingy.

A wet and cold January day, 5 Geocachers set out on a hopeful journey.
GPS wasn't very kind through cloud cover and rain. After 20 minutes of trying to work out which part of the bush to go through we found the way and the burnt out stump was pretty obvious. Great hiding place GUYS!!!! Left bouncy ball and party poppers (all we had as we left the intended booty in the car) and took Australian letter opener. Trudged back to the car very wet and drove home after a fun hour.

Found at 2:45pm with Muzza. Nice walk through the bush to an easyish find. The creek looks nice on a warm day like this, but I don't think I'm going in.
Swapped a pocket light caribina for a red semi-trailer truck.

Found this one very quickly with Alan-san. The sound of the nearby water sounded refreshingly cool on a warmish day. I took a pen set and left a souvenir letter opener in its place.

Thanks Threepwood for an enjoyable walk in a lovely area.

Found at 4:25pm, after a fun drive to the cache, and an interesting shortish trek on foot. Took a glowstick, and left an orange clip/LED torch thingy.
Thanks for a good cache in a nice spot, kids of Threepwood!

Great little spot that I have never been to before. You would think you were in the middle of nowhere, not on the outskirts of Warrandyte! My last find for the day, and another reasonable sized cache container with some worthwhile contents, which is great to see! Took a window scraper and left a tyre pressure gauge. Thanks Threepwood.

This was our third cache for the afternoon. We found the suggested parking spot easily and then had an enjoyable walk along a much more healthy looking Yarra than the one that we’re used to. After finding a spot to scramble up we quickly found the cache, together with many little orchards and other wildflowers. We also found that we were the third team to find this cache today. We made no exchange. Thanks Threepwood!

A nice walk to the cache along the yarra.
Took cassette tape and left pen set.
Left Kiwi Kow to continue his adventures.

Found at 3.55PM This is an area where we have been thinking about placing a cache for some time but Threepwood has beaten us to it. It's in a lovely bushy area and our dog thoroughly enjoyed the outing as did we. No problems with the tree cover - the gps led us straight to it. Nothing exchanged. Thanks for the walk. Greg and Bev
