I started this cache over two years ago but must have been distracted by other caching commitments, as I failed to finish it. Caching around the Botanic Gardens over the last couple of days I picked up where I left off and calculated a final GZ. There was certainly an object there (phew!) - I messaged the CO who quickly responded with the OK to log as found.A very nice wander around the gardens and a lovely old cache concept here. Thanks, Tankengine!

A cache with a different ending, so a favourite from us for something different.Once the sun had broken through and things had warmed up a bit we headed off to the Botanic Gardens a place we had visited many years ago. The Rainforest Walk Mrs SKI remembered, and it is just like some areas close to where we live, The banksias were out and well worth a look. Some in flower we have in our garden at home! You can't be in this area without a visit to Black Mountain, but it is looking quite sad and run down. Most of the viewing areas are now obscured and the Tower is closed. Then it was time to head to the museum, and finally pout for a big tea down south, that we probably should have passed on, but was still enjoyable.Of course we collected a few caches on the way, quite a variety.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Tankengine.**SKI Pair****

Fun field puzzle this, combined with a solid stroll in and around the Botanic Gardens. A nice twist at the end too, so if you want the find, read the listing carefully. A favourite for the mind-boggling mystery and also the object highlighted at the final location. Frown in Canberra for a night to catch up with Sydney friends before heading to Culburra for another week by the sea. First stop Belconnen markets for some lunch supplies then of to ANBG to eat and a walk (hoping for some butterflies). Not certain why I haven’t attempted this previously. Really enjoyed the structure of this one and it was a beautiful day to be in the gardens. Was a bit worried with my final coordinates but made sense once I came round a corner.

Had started working this one out at an office Christmas party in 2017. For some odd reason I was not able to complete it. Workings then sat in the garage until a recent clean up where I discovered a bunch of them sitting collecting dust.

This evening we were again seeing an outdoor movie at the gardens, so whilst the family munched down on some hot chips and other goodies before the screening commenced (Ghostbusters - Afterlife) I ducked out on the mission to complete.

Soon had the necessary details and headed to GZ where as the sun set I took the required evidence of find ie a nice snapshot. Details then sent to CO who gave the AOK. TNLN TFTC

Had a free afternoon so we thought we’d give the botanic gardens cache a go.

The WP’s gave us a good reason to walk around to different sections of the gardens we wouldn’t normally head to.

Once all were acquired (we had to make an educated guess on one WP as it didn’t look distinctly like any of the photos, where as all the other WP’s were fairly distinct), we headed over to GZ and spotted the item that fit the hint.

Quick message and photo to Tankengine who confirmed the find, and it was off to the bookstore for us for some souvenirs and ice cream.

Tftc!

Collected the information a while ago during a trip to the botanic gardens and guess what? I didn't calculate the coordinates and visit the actual object. I even walked past it! So I found the coordinates in my notes and then a trip to the botanic gardens and a quick find of the object and I was correct! Woohoo! Thanks to Tankengine for this very unique puzzle! Favourite point for that!

This weekend from 17-21/06/2021, I joined georode and gridge98 in visiting our nation's capital, Canberra for geocaching adventures. We prioritised the higher difficulty-terrain combinations, as well as the more special/unique cache types.
On Thursday, I largely spent the day solo and visited Black Hill lookout, the Botanic Gardens, Australian National University and nearby Canberra Central, and then gridge98 and I walked around the front of Parliament area in Parkes.
Friday was spent completing a few hikes in Goorooyarroo Nature Reserve and Kowen Escarpment Nature Reserve, before then meeting locals at a Friday evening dinner event.
Saturday was predominantly the UFO series in Bullen Range Conservation Reserve, targeting the higher terrain ridge area.
On Sunday, we arose to the morning's CITO event, before returning to Goorooyarroo Reserve for more walking around those hills.
Finally on Monday, gridge98 and I headed north to Yass for the Birds of Australia Wherigo series, a few climbing caches, and returning to ACT completing the UGC series.

Today, I took ownership of our rental car, with my aim of heading to the lower Black Mountain challenges. However, I was lured by the virtual cache at the top of the mountain, and so that became my first stop. A short jog around the hill, and then great views at the top of Telstra Tower.
My next visit was the Australian National Botanic Gardens, completing the *Australia's Garden* and *The Rainforest Walk* Adventure Labs. It was then on to the challenges around lower Black Mountain, spending a few hours walking around before the rain fell later in the afternoon.
My afternoon was then spent touring around Australian National University whilst following a few more Adventure Labs: *ANU*, *Everyone's a critic!* and *What's in a name?*. I then had a walk in downtown Canberra and visited Glebe Park completing that *Glebe Park Wander* Adventure Lab.
After dinner, gridge98 was grabbed from the airport, and we explored some of Parkes in front of Parliament House. A few more virtual, wherigos and Adventure Labs were completed, and we made one last stop at the National Carillon.

After completing one of the nearby Adventure Labs, I thought I would tackle this puzzle (virtual) cache, visiting the various waypoints in the area. I really enjoyed my stroll around, including in a section that appears to have been recently developed in the last 12 months (?). There were a few pictures that I had to study in detail, and it wasn't too long until I had a set of sensible coordinates. A final stroll to that location had me locate the item in question, and a message was sent to the CO for verification. Thanks Tankengine for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

A very pleasant way to spend a Sunday autumn morning - out and about with AngelG27 collecting a few Canberra caches, including labs, earthcaches, multis, trads and puzzles.

This one has been on my radar for a while, so when we arrived at the Botanical Gardens to cover off a few lab caches, we also collected info for this. Well, that was until my phone's battery died and we then juggled AngelG's phone between labs and puzzle photos.

Our calcs took us to an odd spot first, but we soon figured out the issue and then walked to an obvious GZ, which was soon confirmed by the CO.

A great walk around the Gardens. TFTC TE

Cache 7474 on 18 Apr 2021.

Out on a Sunday morning mission with Fox in Jox to grab a few caches of interest. A fun morning with some walking and breakfast along the way!

Headed to the botanical gardens to grab a few adventure labs and have some breakfast. Along the way, we juggled the apps to also work out this puzzle. This ha a been on my “must get” list for ages, so happy to finally have some time to walk around and work out which picture goes with which waypoint. After ending up at an odd spot , we figured out I was to blame with putting in the wrong digits as corrected coordinates. So a slight adjustment and a longer walk and we ended up at a much more promising place which the CO confirmed as correct.

Thanks Tankengine for the cache and the fun! Fav point comin at ya!

With family visiting for the Christmas season, we thought it the perfect opportunity for a meander in the Gardens today. Such a beautiful walk today with the mist in the rainforest in full flow, and all of the gardens now open to explore. We saw endless birds and lizards and were extra spoilt with some newborn ducklings. Always keen for a puzzle this was a fun one for us to do together today. Thanks for the fun adventure. Thanks for the cache!

I've made a number of visits to the gardens, but it's always been encumbered by muggle family-in-law who don't understand the importance of collecting all the clues! Today I decided to just go for it, and collected 4 waypoints as we wandered about the trails. Then I left them at the bookshop while I zipped off to collect the last two. A quick calculation for GZ, and a little bit of backtracking, and I found myself at a spot that I'd noticed previously on our travels. With confirmation from Tankengine that I had the right spot, I can FINALLY sign off on this grand old cache.

Thanks Tankengine!

Out caching in canberra today, grabbing a selection of targeted caches, this was one of several grabbed along the way.

Today I headed out with Smitten Granny to do the two ANU Adventure cache collections and their associated bonus cache. It all went smoothly except on WP, but a phone a friend sorted that one out. We then went up to the Botanic gardens to do a few multi's, which all took way longer than expected. A quick late lunch on the way home finished the day off.

Thanks for the cache Tankengine

After enjoying a coffee in the cafe, I set out to find a couple of caches in the garden, and another in walking distance from the garden. Nice to finally complete this old cache; 2003.
Despite the dull, chilly day, it was an enjoyable walk about the garden. At first I was bamboozled at GZ, not knowing where to find that cache, but then I read virtual, which solved the dilemma Big Grin. I messaged the CO with what I found and prompt permission to log was received. Worth a favourite point. TFTC Tankengine.

After really enjoying my visit to Namadgi National Park area south of Canberra a couple of days ago, I returned there this morning on my own to find a few more of my target caches. It was a leisurely visit with a couple of short walks and plenty of looking around.

Later in the afternoon and evening I completed a couple more of the lab caches and unknown caches closer to the city, as well as a night cache on the way back to my camp.

It was good to complete this cache on a return visit this afternoon. I had previously started it, but it took me much longer than I had anticipated and I ran out of time. They are terrific gardens and I have enjoyed (if that's the right word) attending a number of meetings here during work-related trips to Canberra over the years.

Thanks Tankengine for the puzzle and the cache. A favourite point from me.

I had the day free as my son had arranged an outing with his Aunty and wanted to spend time with her catching up. So with no real plans I decide to tackle this old mystery in the gardens. Had a lovely time aimlessly wandering from area to area. Well and truly went over and above my two hours paid parking. I must try to bring the family next time we are all back in town together.

#4924 3rd for today

Decided to go out and grab a few caches with high FP as part of the Caching Carnival. I selected 5 interesting caches that I could grab in the available time, not wanting to be too greedy. Most of them involved quiet a bit of walking with some hill climbs thrown in. But quality comes at a price as they say. Conditions were a bit 'iffy' today. Passing showers and quite windy.

Logged with consent of Mr Engine. I have not visited the actual gardens in years. The restaurant/cafe plenty of times, but it was good to wander around to see what had changed. I even strolled back through the rainforest gully which is always fun. Only had trouble at the first way point where I took a guess. I think the plants may have grown a bit since the pic. Everything else was fairly straightforward..

Thanks Tankengine

Heading to the Botanic Gardens with Trodectus to view the Black Mountain Miniatures as part of Enlighten, so we thought would be a good time to do this cache as well as T has not done it yet either. After viewing the painting, we headed off to the various waypoints and were able to quickly identify the info needed. After obtaining all the info, the final GZ was calculated and on arrival the required item was located. Thanks for the nice wander around the gardens and the cache, very much appreciated and enjoyed.

Found what was necessary with Coybear2000. We had decided to go to the Botanic Gardens to view the miniatures on exhibit as part of Enlighten. So as we were here, we decided to go for a walk and solve this cache. We were able to get the right information at each waypoint. Once at GZ we found the item and contacted Tankengine, who confirmed that we were correct. It was an enjoyable walk. C took photos of some of the highlights. TFTC.

I intended to simply drop off One of the kids for a hike that started at the gardens. I then read this cache description and thought I’d give it a try. Enjoyed the stroll around the beautiful Botanic Gardens matching images to locations and sorting out the coordinates. This cache has been on my high priority list for a long time now! It is a unique sort of cache that isn't publishable anymore, but I did a whole series of them like this in Central London! I quite enjoy them and think that they are great for locations such like this! Big Grin

This cache was my #1 to do back in February of 2018, because I needed it for a challenge cache that involved finding a cache size for each year from 2001-2007. GIven this was a rare "Other" size from 2003 it was the only cache in Canberra that fit the challenge! However I then must have picked up one in London as I qualified for the challenge and yet again forgot to do this cache!

Today I made it my main goal. Parked for free at the bottom of Black Mountain because of the expensive fee in the gardens, and started my walk. Everything went very smoothly and I managed to match up all the pictures without any hassles on my first go! Gotta love that!

Had some coords in hand and after a shortish walk to GZ my assumptions were soon confirmed when I found a man-made object that fit the hint nicely! The hint was a great sort of check-sum and really appreciated that.

This is an awesome cache, in one of Canberra's tourist locations. A great tour of the gardens and a unique finishing, very worthy of a favourite point and big thanks to Tankengine for keeping this cache alive all these years!

#8812 - 16:40; It was a beautiful Canberra afternoon and I had a bit of time up my sleeve, so I decided to finally tackle this cache, which has been on my 'to do' list for quite some time. I enjoyed the stroll, although it was quite warm, and the surroundings are fabulous. I made my way around the various waypoints and after some calculations found myself near a man made item as per the description. A message to the CO confirmed that I had indeed enjoyed success as well as enjoying the stroll to get there. A favourite for sure! TFTC Tankengine Cool

Finally completed this one today for cache #499. Logging after confirmation from CO.

Overall, this was a fun cache to do. I came out with the geosons on the Labour Day public holiday two months ago (meaning it was done prior to the recent overhaul). Unfortunately, halfway through we lost the youngest geoson. He took off down an interesting path amongst the trees. He didn't return. We searched for him but he was nowhere to be found. We eventually found him at the visitors information centre all safe and well. Now, reunited with the geoson we headed back out and finished this multi picture puzzle. Our favourite part was the walk through the rainforest gully. I've always loved this bit. It cheered up my youngest. He loved it too. Also on our walk around the Botanic Gardens today, I encountered a snake, we discovered a treehouse and both boys got startled by the many lizards enjoying the sunshine.

Unfortunately, once we had matched all the pictures to the waypoints, we just left. I totally forgot to do the last step. So I returned today for a quick stroll through the gardens to find the manmade object at gz.

TFTC Tankengine!

Seeing it's been 15 years since I placed this cache - I decided to give it a good overhaul! - Many of the locations have changed over time - so all the images have been updated! Also, the additional waypoints have been added, saving you having to type them in yourself!

What a wonderful area. From the top you wouldn't know.

Thanks for the wander and extra info we picked up. The final was a beauty and I know the Adelaide people who made this.

Thanks to Tankengine and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!

Aquilus1 and I had finished up at an earlier event and then decided to pick up a few caches before heading home. Although chilly, it was not so bad and we were comfortable enough in our jackets, beanies and gloves.

I was here a little while ago with Youban and so was familiar with a fair few of the pictures which made the search straightforward. It wasn't long before we had found what we were after and sent the CO the answer. Not long later we received the ok to log. I like the idea of this puzzle and I know the CO really wanted this to be a Virtual Cache, but it is still a worthy puzzle to do too and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to visit the Gardens. TFTC!!!

After the nearby event earlier in the afternoon with dty73 we found ourselves braving the cold and occasional bits of light rain about for a few other caches. I had another in the gardens I was keen to find, which proved a good time to come with the cold weather as it was bare of people, and we both had this cache in mind as well. Its been a long time since I have come into the gardens, was always a popular place for us to bring the kids to explore the areas and enjoy the summer music events. Sure did notice a few changes as we walked about and although quieter than normal still a number of people out anyway despite the weather. Managed to collect the information easily enough, we both where familiar with a lot of the pictures and wasn't to long and we found our item we needed, a good cache type and made for an interesting walk about. Logging with permission from the CO, thanks for the cache TE.

We did of a bit of a bodgie job on this one. A bit like putting together furniture, who needs instructions, just go ahead and do it. Well, we went along and did it and soon had the coords for GZ which we trundled off to. We then started to look around for the cache. After not seeing any likely hiding spots that didn't involve disturbing the gardens, we resorted to looking at the hint. Hmmm, there is something nearby that looks relevant to the hint but still no likely cache hiding spots.
Hmm, perhaps read some logs for inspiration. Why do they make remarks about contacting the CO? If all else fails, how about reading the instructions. Ohhh.
Email with answer inbound.

Tuesday 26 December 2017 (Boxing Day) - an overcast pleasant Summer time in the mid to low 20s taking a couple of hours in see the gardens with MuggleSon MuggleDaughter and Son-in-law. Found it! Botanic gardens are generally not my thing at all, but I had a great time wandering through, trying to find my way to the waypoints. One was inaccessible due to barriers being placed on all the paths, but I was able to get close enough to figure out which image it was referring to. Tftc.

Phew! What a cache this was. Went to the Botanic gardens, assuming there would be heaps of caches. WRONG! Luckily there was this puzzle cache, it certainly kept us busy for a few hours and probably took longer than it should have. There were a few reasons for our slow pace, an ankle injury and heat being the main two.

There is nothing quite as satisfying as solving a puzzle cache and it was worth the effort. We loved exploring the gardens. As usual Tankengine you have done it again! Tftc.

Found with a group of mates after enjoying a coffee at the café. We organized a get together to celebrate my birthday and I love to get them out to show them the fun and places that geocaching provides. With photos printed out we headed out to search for the clues. Lots to look at and so many birds and flowers to see. I haven't been to the gardens for years and really enjoyed the walk. Great to get out for a walk too after all the rain we have had. Good to have a couple of sets of eyes too as the photos must have been taken some time ago and the garden has taken over in some spots. Top cache, lots of fun - I will have to come back when I have a FP to give. Thanks again TE Smile

This had been on my radar for eons but previous visits to the Botanic Gardens only ever seemed to be about a quick Sunday night Jazz session. In reality it had been years since I had just wandered around the gardens. Made my way quickly through the required waypoints but then realised around 3/4s of the way through them that I seemed to be missing my sunglasses (which are scripted)....so a double-time return back through the already visited waypoints until I found the specs right back at the first one....grrrr. Razz Thankfully despite it being muggle-city in here today they were still exactly where I had left them. Then onward towards the finish line and a GZ was calculated. Then deferred completion whilst I took on a couple of other multis in the area and finally returned to make the interesting find. I dutifully snapped a few pics but only afterwards read the plaque and instructions....to find it was now not as useful! Another grrr moment [:o)]....but what about that pic...I wonder...aha! Useful again! A highly enjoyable little wander. Smile

With dinosaurs lurking in the gardens, we just had to take the dinosaur-obsessed Sir Maxy and his siblings for an adventure, and after using the phone app to check for nearby caches, we had another adventure of our own. Spent the better part of a couple of hours in the gardens and saw some surprising sights. Then it was time to crunch the numbers, with the object being found a short time later. Glad we took the time to do this one, thanks Tankengine.

This was an absolutely delight to complete - it was fascinating to see how the Botanic Gardens have changed in the twelve years since the photos were taken. Thanks so much for a lovely afternoon outside!

Found with the missus to-day. Nice walk around the gardens under threatening skies. At Point A sat, down at a nearby bench, talked to a friend who was at the gardens for a wedding, when I got up discovered a big leech and 4 little blighters had decided to investigate me. The leeches must be enjoying the rain forest gully.
One of the other WPs was also a bit tricky as it was nearly completely engulfed in vegetation which made it look different from the photograph.

I really enjoyed this one! Such a fun concept to do as I was strolling through the gardens on a lovely day. Found the things I need to find to be able to find the other thing at the end! Big Grin.

So with the thing found and the answer sent to the CO, I now have permission to log this thing! Smile

Thanks for this very enjoyable cache, Tankengine-a fave from me for sure! Smile

We decided to spend a few hours in the botanic gardens this afternoon. During a lovely lunch at the cafe we mapped out the waypoints on our visitor's map and after lunch, off we went. We collected all the clues while enjoying spring in the gardens. Certainly plenty to see here and just beautiful with so much in flower. Soon had the required object in sight at GZ.
Thanks Tankengine Big Grin

Took a dash around the park and frightened the tourists with frantic panting as I worked to get this scratched off before sunset.

A great adventure finished off my Canberra cacheathon for the weekend.

TFTC and props to Tankengine

Today is my 50yh birthday and I decided to spend a few hours in the Botanic gardens, taking photos, having a nice lunch and doing this cache. I was the Curator here for 5 years and try to visit every now and then. The gardens are looking good with the new Red Centre and development just below the rockery for a large daisy garden.

Found with PNLE. Started as a stroll around the gardens until rain started, then it turned into a sprint to solve the mystery. TFTC.

Found with Chakram on a nice walk around the Botanical gardens despite the drizzling rain. I've actually never been to the Botanical gardens in Canberra previously so the mystery cache was a good reason to go. TFTC.

Decided to treat my mother for lunch outing at the Botanic Gardens for mothers day, and believe it or not she was the one who suggested doing a cache! Plenty of other sons and daughters, both younger and older than I, were around too - what a lovely atmosphere!
Been here plenty of times before, although never was prepared to cross this cache off.

Thanks once again for another top-notch cache TE! You do not disappoint!

3273. I decide to pull the pin on work a couple of hours early and headed for the gardens. Just for an update, minimum parking fees are now $2.80 and maximum, $10.00.
I started wandering around, ticking a few of the photos off the list and then came "D". After looking around for a while I decided to do some research on something else close by and when heading back something caught my eye. Maybe, just may be! So after locating E & F, I sat down to do the substitutions and like many times before, made a wrong assumption. Its not just ABC, DEF. So after quickly realising my error, I headed over to GZ and quickly spotted what I thought I was looking for. I then shot off my answer to the CO who answered in the affirmative.
Thanks TE for the wander around this lovely place and a cache with a difference. A favourite for sure.

3116 Found by baby&Mrs gopher in great company with family on Australia Day of fizgig & lyric and grandkids at 1400. After arriving at given parking area we all set off to see the gardens. The location of pictures lead us to lots of interesting places that were of interest to all in some way in the group. We saw lots of different birdlife many lizards of which there were photo's taken. There was the art factor with all the little pieces of insects, butterflies, beetles, the lizards, turtles, so many to see. There was the walks through tree and plants the Tropic garden down steps and stairs and along water ways in the cool. With all this the 2 grandkids kept us interested with so many questions on what they were seeing and looking at. Every so often someone would stop us all to say g'day which being the day it was just made the walk so much better. So with permission we put in our SL. Tnx Tankengine.

Did this cache a while ago last year - can't remember when, but could remember what was at the end of it… if there ever is an end to the botanic gardens, or caching for that matter.

I love the botanic gardens. Usually go to do some bird watching or just some relaxing time.

Thanks, Tankengine, for organising this cache and all the other ones around Canberra and further afield.

We found this cache back in December but somehow I forgot to email the relevant information to the CO.

After a thoroughly enjoyable walk around the Botanic Gardens identifying the images we did the calcs which led us to an object that had caught I eye earlier.
Thanks for a great cache Tankengine. Earns a favourite from me.

We took the opportunity to visit the Gardens today, as my brother was visiting from Geelong. It doubled as a perfect chance to collect the clues and GZ for this cache.
As always, the Gardens provide a magnificent place for a walk - or a future picnic.
GZ confirmed with CO - thanks Tankengine!

Out and about today on the day off, decided to do something special for our 100th find of Tankengine's caches, so a nice stroll around the gardens was in order on this spring day. Cool spot and great idea for a cache, emailed correctly to CO, TFTC Tankengine

Thanks for this wonderful cache. It was so much fun to walk around in the beautiful gardens, check the photos and finally find....
Surprisingly even Geokids enjoyed doing this cache - no box with swaps were needed Smile
Very interesting how much nature has changed in some places.

This was the first find while spending the day in the area. We had just watched a movie in Belconnen and wanted to stop by the National Botanical Gardens as we hadn't been in a while. While there we were going to do this cache. The whole trip was really fun and it brought back a lot of memories from when we were little. Go to the calculated coordinates and found the answer! Email sent, you can delete the log if you are unhappy. A really fun day with a total of 3 finds for the day and a nice introduction to Geocaching for my friend, we may have another one recruited! TFTC Tankengine!

Found and had confirmation. Enjoyed the little wander. I had friends with me and I kind of shanghai'ed part of their visit with following the cache coords. But I think all is good. I am visiting the Canberra region and the friends said lets visit the Botanic gardens and as I hadn't done any caches yet this seemed like a good opportunity to do one. We noticed a plant that had the second part of scientific name as 'SuperBum'. Hmm find it and then log what the common name is?

A beautiful spring day to be out caching, especially in the Botanic Gardens. We made our way around the grounds piecing together the puzzle. What a beautiful place. We did the sums and headed to GZ. As we approached GZ we spotted two lizards chasing each other all over the place. This kept us amused for about 10 minutes while we searched for the cache. We searched and searched to no avail. We decided to reread the cache description only to discover that there isn't actually a physical cache! There are certainly much worse places to be when foraging around aimlessly for a cache. Once we realised that we didn't have to find a container we quickly gathered the info we needed and headed to the Cafe for lunch. The Burgers are definitely better here than at Hungry Jacks!! We sent the required info to Tankengine who has given us permission to log the cache as a find. Tankengine, thanks for a great cache in a great location. A Favourite Point from us.

After some home chores were complete around the Geo_Junkies home we decided that we wanted to head out somewhere. A walk around the Botanical Gardens sounded fabulous. We packed a picnic and Geokid Snr packed some balls to play with.

We payed our parking fee and was really glad that the mountain sheltered this area from the wind. The sun was out and amongst the trees it was really calm. After some lunch, and a play with the balls on the lawns we decided to have a bit of a meander around.

Lots of plants in flower at the moment which made the walk even more spectacular. The gardens are looking so much better than a couple of years ago and by the looks of things they are expanding them significantly. At one WP we came within 1m of a large grey male roo basking in the sun. GeoKid Snr saw it before we did as we were admiring some statues and thought that it was an ornament.

All up the walk took us about 1hr (really slow pace- with some ball games along the way). It was a fabulous day out- the whole Geo_Junkies clan thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

TFTC Tankengine and a wonderful day out.

I never had a reason to go to the gardens before, so this cache was a great excuse! One of my favs!
It was a great Sunday stroll which showed off the various parts of the gardens. Unfortunately, point C is no longer there, but we were still able to work out the GZ coordinates in the end.

Thanks tankengine. Really enjoyed it.

We started the leg work for this one last weekend in the rain but unfortunately we ran out of time to go to GZ. We really enjoyed the gardens as we havent been here in a while and loved working our the pictures. We headed here again today and made our way to our calculated coordinates. When we arrived at GZ the instructions made sense. Thanks Tankengine for a fun puzzle.

After a morning coffee with a friend at the Botanic Gardens cafe I was keen to do this cache. The waypoint were all found easily and only location D has me scratching my head because I was 26 metres away from the feature, which now has a vine growing on it and there was scrub between me and it. Well it could only be 1 value anyway, so all was good in the end. I got to GZ and snapped a pic and emailed it to TE. I'm logging this assuming I got it right. Given what was there I am confident I got it right.

I really enjoyed wandering around the gardens. I have lived in the Canberra region since 1980 and I swear I have never been here before.

Thanks TE.

Another great cache idea that works superbly with the geokids! After the rain had suddenly stopped on Sunday afternoon we went to pick up Jackathol and went to the Botanical garden for this cache. The points where reasonably easily identified and Dino and Pebbles had fun with all the water running along the paths. We saw lots of beautiful birds about, they must have been happy that the 24 hour rain was over. This is a great cache highly recommended to do with the little ones. A clear Favorite for us! Thanks TE.

PS we saw lot and lots of water drags out and about, was hard to tell if they or the birds were happier that the rain had stopped.
