We caught up with a group here this morning to tackle some of the caches here in Mt Rob Roy. We were well ruged up to start with. As we continued the layers came off.In the process I managed to loose one of my ear rings. ( if some one is luck enough to find it I would be very appreciative) All the caches we attempted we gained a smiley.TFTC.
Out on a solo hike getting some wholesome wellbeing. Treasure hunting mindfulness was too good an opportunity to pass up. TFTC!
Found during the Mega event in Canberra over the Easter long weekend. Our team comprised courtneyrose_, Davidwazza, e.gregory1, Featherwaite, Freddo, gridge98 and Team Waldron, signing the logs as ABP to save time and space in the logbooks , or with our individual caching names. Enjoyed a great weekend away finding a rewarding range of cache types, d/t combinations, cache hides and retrievals. Thanks for the cache MarkTheShark!
Found this during a fantastic weekend away at the Canberra Mega, with gridge98, Freddo, Team Waldron, e.gregory1, Davidwazza and Featherwaite. The log books were either signed with the name ABP or our individual caching names. Was an excellent Mega, grateful to be part of it!
Found on our journey over the week here. This weekend was mega weekend and we headed over with Courtneyrose_ Freddo, Team Waldron, e.gregory1, Davidwazza and Featherwaite as part of our team called: ABP (Alphabet People), the log books were either signed with the name, ABP or our individual caching names.A great weekend away in the capital and a very well organised mega, it was nice to be back in the ACT caching once again over easter with great weather. Thanks for the cache
Found on a visit from Adelaide to attend the Capital GeoBash Mega event in Canberra over Easter.Today I teamed up with FeatherWaite, Team Waldron, gridge98, CourtneyRose and Davidwazza. Logs were signed ABP to save time and space on the logsheets. It was a productive day, focusing mainly on caches of interest, with a variety of cache types. The weather was fine and quite warm, in contrast to some of the other times Ive been in Canberra over Easter. Thanks MarkTheShark for the cache.

Muggle65 and l invited Davidwazza to come for a walk today and he invited ABP to join us so a big group today. It definitely made finding quick with so many eyes. The steep track in is definitely that, but it was gentler after a while. Thank you for a fun cache
GreenGecko1 & I are in Canberra and keep running into our fellow QLD contingent. We won't be distracted by chatting, there be caches to find!We escaped to the burbs to walk some great tracks around Rob Roy.
Im in Canberra for the GeoBash mega and teamed up with Cybergran V and Ronice88 to find a multitude of solved puzzles. While out and about we picked up this traditional. Log signed as CB88
I bet there are no two identical paths navigating to GZ. A few of us decided to tackle the Choc Box series so THIS IS A LOVELY BONUS. Luckily its perfect temperatures for a wander off track in lovely country quite different from home base in NE Vic. In Canberra for the National Folk Festival AND the GeoBash mega so doing you know what will keep me busy in this supersaturated CAPITAL of distractions of all sorts. Signed this one as CB88 for Cybergran V weirdobiker and Ronice88 TFTC and the FUN. A FAVE for LONGEVITY.
Thanks MarkTheShark for this traditional cache, near a couple of the new Chocolate Box letterbox caches.Found by Ronice88 and weirdobiker whilst we are enjoying the GeoBash Mega in Canberra.Log signed as CB88.
On a spectacular walk around Rob Roy Reserve we came to visit this cache.
The beginning of the walk was perhaps steepest, and after that, it was slightly more undulating with steep sections that were not too long along the way.
Log signed…and the views through the trees were indeed outstanding.
Thanks MarktheShark

I was getting towards the back end of a fairly decent slog through these hills and almost didn’t have the energy to venture in and look for this one. But I talked myself into it and it was all pretty smooth sailing.
These are the best hills on the edge of Canberra without a doubt, I can’t believe they’re always so deserted…not that I’m complaining! Thanks for the cache.

Found with injuryman and Turtle284 on an epic hike around Rob Roy Nature Reserve today! When I got the offer to join them on a mission to find some of the toughest caches they had their eyes on to continue their quest on fulfilling an even tougher challenge cache qualification, I jumped at the chance! I don't get out to this reserve very often, so it was a great time and we got to explore just how much this relatively untravelled nature reserve offers! I am surprised they still haven't built a proper carpark for it yet! Will be back for some more fun in here on another day for sure, with lots missed due to time constraints and focused goals!
Thanks MarkTheShark! Didn't realise I had such an old unfound traditional here!

On our way back from a 3 hour hike picking up a number of caches in Rob Roy Reserve we made the find on our way back to the geovehicles. Thanks for the company today Injuryman and Loci612!
The younger GeoKid and I popped up the steep hill from Orange Thorn Crescent for a very pleasant 7 km return walk targeting the tree caches in the tree line behind the Monks that I didn't get to last week.
After the steep initial bit - this doesn't get less steep each time I walk it! - a very pleasant slower rate of ascent through open bushland to this cache which was found without issue.
I do like finding these older bush caches. Thanks, MarkTheShark.

A quick of the track detour for an ammo tin. The views were obscured by trees.

A day walk in Rob Roy Reserve with the group consisting of Team Canary, PPE, Crash2079 plus myself. Some steep hills and tricky caches which saw us make slow progress at times and being a sunny day plus a bit of a later start we revised the route.
We came in via Tank Valley. Another steep climb and the Kanga's were already out and about. Another quick find. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC

First day of a 4 day caching adventure in the Canberra and Yass regions with some grumpy old mates (b@w, PPE and Team Canary). Our plan was to hike through Rob Roy Reserve from north to south so we left a car at the southern exit and met back at the northern entry point.
Another nice find as we continued on our long trek on this very warm day.

We accessed this by walking down the open spur from Fort Sensible - much better than the fire trail Spotted the telltale signs after a while & found the goods. A 17 year old cache seems rare
Decided late in the afternoon that I needed to expend some energy, so took a walk in the Monks Hill area.
I hadn't realised until arrival at gz, how old this cache is, but happily it is still in really good condition!
Views from gz itself are obstructed, but a lovely area to take a walk.

A nice size cache out in the Bush, and some great views. Reading through the logs today and found the name of a cacher passed, and reflected on how he too would have appreciated this wonderful area. TFTC
No chocolate for mum - instead treated her to a hike up Rob Roy for Mother's Day - another mountain she hasn't summited despite living here for 5 years! We left our house down in Conder and made a quick trek up Big Monks track. Plenty of people out on this cracking afternoon - although it looked like they had never attempted this steep track before and were taking it quite precariously! We diverted off the track once within 60m of GZ and found the hide nice and quickly. Shocking to imagine I was 3 years old when this cache was placed! Thanks MarkTheShark.
No views today too much undergrowth and trees. Got to GZ and thought oh gee it could be anywhere. Turns out I was standing on top of it.
Thanks for the encouragement to get out here for a walk.

Today I made a trip out into an area I had thought I wouldn't be coming into for a while, well quite simply I still remember THAT hill from last time! But when the offer came through that this was on the agenda for today and would I like to come along I decided it had to be done at some time so yes I was in too.
Plans were made for BoujeeBunny, Tankengine, dty73 and myself to make an assault on the hill, so after dty73 picked me up we met At TE's who drove us up to the start. A grey morning but if it was cold it wasn't felt this morning once on that hill. It hadn't improved since last time either! Upwards we climbed and soon into the mist, pretty though and it soon cleared to a brilliant blue sky.
It was good to be out and the company was good, but there is no getting past the endless hills along the way. A lot of climbing was done and the hills were hard at times, but conquered they were and all the caches targeted along the way found. Thanks for the cache MarkTheShark, also to TE for providing lunch for us all, is good to have some long sort after caches finally found.
No views today from this cache but the fog through the trees is still very pretty this morning, and not cold after the up, up, up! The cache was soon found and all found well, and the best bit its a nice old cache too.

Out on a caching adventure today with Aquilis1, dty73 and Tankengine.
Gave the lungs a good workout climbing the hill, but very foggy on the way up that hid some of the views from us.
Thanks for placing this here.

BoujeeBunny and her great ideas! Her and Tankengine had made plans to come up and grab a few caches in the area. When Aquilus1 and I were asked if we wanted to come along we sucked it up and thought that it may be a good idea to go with a couple of fit people in case we died somewhere up in the hills up here, they could at least get help quickly.
So we started at about 9am to drive to the bottom of that bloody hill! I swear Mt Tenant was easier than this place! I have walked up here once before and the flashbacks were coming thick and fast. But I also remember being much more fit back then too.
That first walk up the tarred road already had my lungs burning and legs yelling at me that this was NOT a good idea. Then there were the up, up, ups and the downs then up again then down again then up again and then down again. I felt like I was on a roller coaster. The other two forged ahead with ease and politley stopped occassionally to wait for us two slow sloths, but we did make it up and around and back again. And although at the time I was suffering it didn't take as long to recover when we got home. And the views were quite nice and worth the hike.
This cache was the first for Aquilus1 and myself as we had already been up to get a couple of others previously. The clouds were still low here and there and there were a number of trees around, so the views were a little hard to see. But the cache was found quickly and we signed with pleasure, before heading onwards and upwards to the next one. Tftc MarkTheShark!!!

I've actually got these three Rob Roy caches before, and forgotten to log them, so I'm making sure to do it now!
Sighted my previous log (way back on 26/8/2016!) and signed again for good measure.
Thanks for the cache!

Out with my caching partner in crime, BonEm on a very frosty and cold winters Morning in Canberra.
On a mission to finally finish a big challange cache, we decided to grab a few caches along the way.

Out trekking again with Lpud again on a nice day after a frosty and foggy start. We got this one on the way back down as we got distracted by other hikers and walked past it on the trail up. Nice hide. TFTC
#2174 Walked up with my 2 nieces and their 2 friends, Duffco and his 2 kids with their 2 friends. A quick find at GZ. Cacahe was in great shape. Partly cloudy 10 degress. TFTC MarkTheShark.
#7490 - 12:35; Lokipagan and I had been threatening a caching mission along the Rob Roy Range for nearly a year now, but life just kept on getting in the way. After returning from the Red Centre Experience, we made contact again and the date was set. We headed off up the rather steep path at 09:15 on a cold and frosty morning that turned out to be fantastic weather for the mission. We headed to the furthest end of the trail and then worked our way back to the geomobile in the hope of having enough time to attend an event in Woden. Stopped to collect this cache on the way back and managed the find after being distracted by a SPOR close to GZ on arrival. TFTC MarkTheShark
Sunday 5 March 2017 - a very hot still climb up and a wet windy walk down the mountain on a Spring afternoon that had my legs working hard. Found 3 from 3 caches over a 5.5km trek, and a bike ride. Took a while to find but was continually drawn to a larger rocky outcrop thinking the GPS was out - must trust the GPS. Thx p2p. TFTC MarkTheShark.
We left The Woofer at home today, and headed up (and up, and UP!) to find some caches that have been on our list for a while. We left goodies in all of them, and had a great day - although we're sure to have some aching legs tomorrow!
After almost getting into a fight with a giant man-roo on the way in, the cache was found quickly, log signed and goodies left. TFTC!

Much nicer bushland on this side of the fence. We still didn't manage to spot any orchids though . A lovely walk in. At GZ the GPS was bouncing a bit so we checked quite a few spots before finally finding the right one. Got it in the end though! Thanks MarkTheShark
Out for a quick late afternoon walk, so went to grab this one. Took a little bit of searching, but found OK after I checked the hint. Sadly view from GZ is a bit overgrown now.
Thanks

Great hike for a cloudy Saturday afternoon although the first bit of the hill is a killer. Found the cache then moved on to the next.
Going for a hike on a cloudy Saturday afternoon. Headed for the southern views. Starting out the first 10 minutes is a killer hill but made it to the first cache and cought my breath. Great cache.
Went on a Brindabella Bushwalkers walk to Mt Rob Roy and picked up five geocaches along the way. This one was a straightforward find in a delightfully isolated spot in the Nature Park. Thank you MarkThe Shark for this cache.
A quick find after leaving the track. A new find for 5Powells too: a great day out and about. TFTC.
With a free afternoon and wonderful beckoning, I decided to drag Stretchy Cheese Lady (SCL) out for a long overdue walk. After SCL grabbed a couple of nearby caches that I'd found 2 years ago, it was time to press on into the unknown.
The bush land past the fence is lovely and there were loads of butterflies out today.
A quick find and sign. We startled some kangaroos on our way back to the fire trail, but they didn't seem to mind too much.

A Friday off work gave the perfect opportunity for an early morning walk up Mt Rob Roy, one of my favourite nature reserves in Canberra. Maybe its the stunning and unique views on the way up, maybe its the feeling of being remote while only a couple of kilometres from the suburbs, maybe its the tranquility (on three or four visits to Big Monks and Rob Roy I've never encountered another person), maybe its the abundant wildlife. Whatever, it is a special place. All helped by the fact that today the Banks Steep Track felt far less challenging than the first one or two times. That's one of the great things about Rob Roy - it is high, but all the hard work is done in the first 10 minutes. The climbs are pretty mild after that.
I've had my eye on these caches for a little while and was surprised to find they were closer than I had envisaged - I expected a walk to the summit but the highest of them was well before that.
I picked this one up last - an easy find in a lovely location that was a very pleasant walk from the track. TFTC

The thirteenth find on a stunner of a day. All downhill from here, yahooooooo! I parked my bike close to GZ and then walked on over and made a quick find once I arrived at GZ. This was my last one that was "on" Mount Rob Roy. Some great views from GZ, I got a couple of pics. Log signed and cache replaced. TFTC MarkTheShark!

A Canberra Bushwalking Club morning ramble (and sumptuous morning tea – although some in the party chose not to drink bubbly before midday) to Mt Rob Roy provided the opportunity to bag a few caches near the fire trails. Trip report at http://www.johnevans.id.au/wp/?p=5026 . TFTC.

Nice walk and and a quick and easy find, stopped for a while to rest and eat before heading to the next cache. TFTC!
Took the the GeoKid out for a walk over the hills near our house. There are some awesome views and lots of wildlife as we discovered. We took a mostly direct route from the car and enjoyed the prickly bushes along the way. After arriving at GZ we had a rest and then began the search. We had the cache in hand not long after. From there it was a downhill (mostly) back to the car. Was a nice day out and now it's time to relax... SL TFTC. Warning: Photo shows cache and location...

A great day out caching and number 4 on the way back down the mountain. This one took a little longer to find than usual but found it in the end. Thanks for a great location.
thanks for the cache : cant believe this bush setting is so close to busy tuggers!

Found on a big day out at Rob Roy! A nice easy find in a very peaceful area. A relaxing spot to stop for a cache. Took army man in exchange for a lizard toy. Thanks MarkTheShark![:o)]
We both got up quite early for a Sunday (for us anyway) and decided that it was a perfect day to go finish off some unfinished caching business in these Southside hills . But before we had the chance to prepare a storm of caches were published and we had to take a bit of a detour first…
After failing to score a FTF we got back on track and headed to our originally planned location to start our bushwalk and head towards our final destination. This was one of the caches along our route today and we took a mini detour to grab it off the main path. Miss Stormcatcher waited on the main path while Mr Stormcatcher headed off quickly to grab this one. Found it quickly, logged, stamped stampy, and headed back to find Miss Stormcatcher. TFTC

Changed container because old one looking a bit sad and sorry. Also added another log because old one full.
Yeah the tree's have kinda blocked the view I take it. This cache has been around for some time I can see. Good to see.
Quick easy find. Cheers!

Found on the way back down from doing "On the rocks" with the SamWalkerses. I think the tree growth here has taken away the view, but there are plenty to be found nearby and it is a lovely area to be walking in. The cache container is UV affected and it cracked while being handled. The cracked end was put into the hidey hole first, but it should probably be replaced.
We searched for the views but could not see the woods for the trees.
The sun was still high so, in the end, we could appreciate the shade more than the view.
I was all swapped out by the time I got here.
Next I get to enjoy the down hill part of the trip. (Ouch, knees )
Great day out
