Went for a drive today and ended up here, where it all begun! lol
I think the fire may have actually got this one, as the metal surfaces it attaches itself to are all degrading severely since the fire. I brought a replacement, but haven't left it there as I have another idea, so it doesn't fall off the bridge when the rust gives way..
Back soon...

Back soon...
Almost 12 months since a logged find, but location looked promising.
Stopped for a look, and grim determination had me here for over an hour
poking prodding, feeling, reaching, crawling.... but no luck today.
As some logs say, the fire came so close here, my friends at the cafe nearby
told of the losses at the edges of their home town.
Some of the bridge has suffered and parts are crumbling, even under foot.
There is evidence of a little vandalism too, which is a pity, and a few bottles lying around.
All I found today was dust and rust not even a scrap of a mint tin.
Could be a whole lot more searchers haven't bothered logging DNFs too
Thanks anyway for the challenge Hurtle and for bringing us here,
will place on the watch list and return when there's a confirmed find or it's been CO checked !

There are those days when it just does not work. Today is one of them. My spidey senses are not on today.
Only time for a quick look as I headed over to Tanunda. Sadly no find today but will return another day as after driving away I think I suddenly saw the light and think I know where it is. I will test my theory next time I am passing.
Great little hide, wandering out on to the bridge, hmm so many possible hiding places. One of those rare occasions where we had quick success D fluked the find, first place he looked, now that almost never happens.

Travelling back to Burra from Gawler I drove through this lovely little place and am glad that I stopped for a smiley. It is amazing how close the fires came to demolishing this bridge

Thanks to FourW whom checked on this today, the cache is still intact and not fried! So close!!
Glad the old bridge survived and hopefully not too charred.
We have plans to restore this cache to it's former style and hide, but for now it is still findable.
However we still request that cachers do not go to these fire affected areas for the purpose of caching, and rather just find the cache if they happen to be passing.
Thanks for your co-operation and understanding, as the locals have been through hell and are busy rebuilding for awhile to come yet!

I have been in town volunteering with BlazeAid, tonight we were treated to tea at the bowls club, so I took the opportunity to check on a cache. This one came within centimetres of the flames. The boards along the bottom of the bridge were charred, but the cache is intact. I have photos, they may get uploaded ifI can work the phone properly.
This cache has been temporarily disabled due to a recent fire in the area. An extensive area of farmland has been burnt out and poses a potential risk to public safety. For safety reasons, visitors should keep clear of all areas that have been affected. See updates at http://www.cfs.sa.gov.au/site/warnings_and_incidents/pinery_fire_information.jsp
Found with 2100*turtle while on a family weekend holiday. A beautiful place where we stopped for lunch and then walked to find this cache and enjoy the view. TFTC.
This brought back so many memories being in this location again after all these years, as a youngster we often would muck around and swim in the river even jump off the old bridge. The council has cleaned up the side of the river which looks good. Thanks Hurtle for bring me back to this location again and for the memories so I'm awarding a favourite point.
Out with **JEM** and heading to his home town picking up a few caches along the way.
Taking squash99 for a driving lesson so better way to get some hour's up then a bit of caching TFTC
With a child free day we thought we would go for a pleasant drive in to some beautiful country and knock off some more caches that we had in the area. This was the 9 of the 13 that we did today.
Finally found, well my wife did the finding and i did the signing.
Thank you Hurtle

Almost 5 years to the day since I located this cache. Took trackables to visit whilst 3LG signed the log
Out and about today with earthlight looking for suitable spots to hide caches and of course find caches as we go, love the old bridge and Mrs 3LG walked straight up to it : ) TFTC
Interesting bridges especially the old one. Neat hide

Spent the day with cub, muggle brother and his muggle partner exploring the area where our mother grew up (and we used to have fun visiting the farm as children).
This spot looked beautiful, so stopped, to re-explore. We came here as kids with our cousins mini-bike. Mum (surprisingly) had a go, she did well until she wanted to stop and mixed up the brake and accelerator, ended up flying over the handle bars ... she was fine, dazed and laughing.
We had a good walk around, and I thought, great spot for a geo ... what do you know ... well leave this one for cub and the muggles.
Thanks for the find

Dennisc52 and I headed for Coobowie for a really fun day out!
Warm weather, a hole at the beach and geocaches before and after our swim
All up, 15 finds , 1 DNF and 1 event attended before arriving home about 2.30am
Dennisc52 drove home from just before the Ardrossan turn off and next thing I knew, we were in Pt Wakefield.
Then Dennis kindly offered to detour so that I could finally find this cache that I had spent a lot of time looking for, while it wasn't even there.
Having seen it had been replaced, it was definitely on my hit list and the very quick, easy find was made about 2am!
We didn't even have to get underneath or over the edge.

Out caching with Locus Cache doing the driving in Harry, who has been brought out of hibernation, and really put through his paces. Kaye had a few DNFs on this one, and had wanted to find it for some time, so we stopped here on the way back from the Coobowie event, where we made a quick find. TFTC.
Headed out for an afternoon of caching and this was our first stop. An easy find and beautiful location.

Staying at the Stockport Caravan Park and headed out for a short drive to pick up a few caches - this was one we found!
After seeing this one had been replaced a while back this was on our to do list when we were heading to Clare. Pulled up near GZ and went for a wander along a great old bridge, the stone work is beautiful, on a 38 degree day it's always nice to be looking for a cache near water, makes us feel cooler, so the water below was just lovely.
Good to see one of the older South Aussie caches continue, thanks PG for the cache.
We signed the log and replaced the cache safe and sound. 13th November 2014

My Bestie replaced this with a magnetic eclipse for now, until we can fashion a cache similiar to the original.
Thanks for your patience.
Thanks for your patience.
Couldn't find. This is the fourth time I have tried to find this cache . Bought back up today KBKL and sixpak69. Even climbed under and hanging off of bridge no luck. If it there I can't find it.
With KBKL hanging off the bridge at times and with barbwyre68 and geo muggle family we still couldn't find it. Third attempt but first time dnf it.
Well no luck what so ever. Looked quite thoroughly even hanging upside down to look under the bridge it self. Hope it's still here just well hidden. Have noticed it hasn't been found since early 2013 so maybe just not looking hard enough. Will have to try again another day.
Tried to find this cache on our Easter camping trip. We had about 7 people looking all over but no luck.
Mogni and I decided to get the New Year off to a good start with a power trail. The APM series was the goal. But as usual we had to get there first! After spending far too long in Two Wells for 2 DNF's it was time to get caching. Got through the APM series and time for a few more caches before heading home.
Had a good long look but I couldn't see the light. Wait a minute. Nope only a train coming at me!

Out with muggle partner for the day and all up I found 24 caches and had 3DNF's, 2 on the same cache
A great day to be out an about on dirt roads doing the locus cache thing! [^]
Saw lots of lizards, sheep, cows, goats, horses, a rabbit and lots of birds but luckily no snakes
Decided to try and clean up the 6 auzzie convict's that I had not yet found.
While out this way, thought I would try with daylight to look for this cache however still no satisfaction despite having the sun in the sky and the smaller sun in the hand

So locus cache and i walked from one end of the bridge to the other, both sides, with mirrors. Then I headed down under to inspect under the bridge. Still no love.
Can't see the the light.
I will be back.

Out with Mr TheShattells for a Thursday night cache run on a blustery and wet night which saw us get 2 locus cache smileys and 1 DNF
This was the dratted DNF!
Again, I had a look but could not see the Light!
Mr TheShattells even went down under but still could not locus cache a cache anywhere
We will be back, someday!

Finally, I made it to another one of McKee Clan's CITO events and did my community service by picking up rubbish
Then, leaving bags of rubbish and tyres in McKee Clan's capable hands, I escaped and went caching with Muff1 for his last few Adelaide area caches and with Laighside Legends for the rest of the day
Had a total of 16 successful locus cache occassions and only 1 DNF
Today, I definitely did NOT see the light!
Even with the assistance of a previous finder, this cache was unfindable!

Wow what a day.
We completed the NXY, APM, WH and TdF powertrails in one power caching day.
Appreciate all the caches we found today and enjoyed them all.
Thanks for placing this one.

A nice old bridge.
Found during a massive 24 hour cache-a-thon with Rediguana, ADV, Hello Mrs and Pohutukawa - on the homeward stretch of our Oz MEGA trip.
We did 231 caches in this one day - a new personal best and an Australian record (until growingupisoptional put it in its place just one week later).
Sorry for the generic logs.
We had an awesome time with the TdF, APM and much of the NXY serries' of caches, as well as many others in between. Unfortunately they were all a blur in long, long, day.

Finally found the light, since my DNF back in April 08!
Was that the spot it was in then?
Thanks for keeping this going

After doing all AMP series by lunch time so we had plenty of time to hunt some more caches before going back to our caravan park at Kapunda, easy find...48th of 63 finds today. Thanks PG06.
Out on a GZ trip with my boys for a few days.
Great time of year to be trekking around the back tracks exploring!

TFTC. what a calm restful spot. Log signed for minnes. The nearby graffiti looks like it would have been dangerous to apply
Was desperately hoping this would have a pen as I'd left mine at home no worries, found but not signed!
Found on my way home (the long way round) after spending a few days on Yorke Peninsula. Thanks for the cache PG06!
We knew we were in the right spot, but we just couldn’t see it, so we tried another angle and took the more challenging route to avoid the young Muggles. Suddenly labchick saw the light! With all her skill she proceeded to extract the cache from its hiding place. Took a leafy sea dragon and left a crane. Cache #867
lovely site. My arms weren't quite long enough. took something, left something. Cheers
Nice easy find on our second time at this one. Lovely spot to stop and have a look around TFTC TNLN

Really enjoyed this one - I even managed to retrieve this on my own (and we all know how short I am!) - I was talking to a muggle camping near the water and saw the light! Thanks so much for this one - very enjoyable.
Short people are definitely disadvantaged here! Had to wait for some muggles to cross the bridge before making the grab. Took cross puzzle, left sea dragon. SL TFTC PG06!
