Hi Deb,

Just a note to let you know that we were in this park the other day and even the tower is gone now too.

Regards,

Dean (Rabbitto)

Thought this'd be a quick cache after the Bells toll'd - found the spot but alas it was gone...

10-Oct-04
Thanks to "Blaze" for letting me know he couldn't find the cache yesterday. As it was an easy one I decided to check it out after work this morning and sadly it has goneSad. Cache has now been Archived. I will find a better spot and put another cache in this park. It is such a pretty spot.

I had a bit of a search around for this one, after looking at the hints I found the area where I was expecting to find the cache.
In the areas where I would expect to find the cache there has been a lot of cleaning out of materials, so I suspect the cache is MIA. I'll ask Kiwideb for more details.
If the cache is MIA, I guess it's a lesson for us all that we have to not only cover the cache, but also cover any evidence of a search in other areas as well.

Our third kiwideb caches for the evening after finds at Take a Halladay and For Whom The Bell Tolls.

Took Digimon card, Left Yowie toy.

Thanks Kiwideb

Found on 26/9/04 @ 15:15 AEST. There was a very nice smell of blood & bone in the air [xx(], and no muggles in sight when I retrieved the cache, but a few turned up to climb the tower after I had replaced it. I was actually able to see the cache from the angle I appraosched GZ, so I camouflaged its spot a bit better Smile.

I managed to squeeze my log entry on the last page of the logbook, so a new book is needed ASAP. TNLN.

Cheers kiwideb

Found this one fairly easily, never knew there was any mines around the areas. We came from the wrong direction and had to cross the rail tracks to get there but all was good. I exchanged something, i cant remember what tho.. Thanks from MB and SM

As I came over the hill, I saw the obvious structure and thought ... cool. There was an audio recording playing at the time, so while I was looking for the cache there was some history happening as well. Even cooler.
The cache was found with little trouble (I think I spotted the location as I came down the hill).
I took a Bracelet and a Butterfly Hair Clip.
I left a Dinosaur and a Finer Freak.
A very interesting location and with the audio, very rewarding as well. Thanks kiwideb.

20-Jul-04
Start of our vacation to Australia, we needed to have a cache marking our first stop - close to the house of family nearby!

Cache was found easily, and we appreciated the bit of history linked to it.

Nice spot

We had no idea such a fantastic park existed here. There was only one person in the park at the time so finding the cache was easy. Made swaps and returned cache and cotinued our look around this interesting area.
Took Spider Man Badge
Left Toy Snake
Thanks Kiwideb, a very enjoyable break in our day.

Found at 14:20 by sbalogh53 and crew. This one was quite easy to find and was located in an interesting area. We had a good look at the little cottage and climbed the tower to look around. We also lifted the metal trapdoor at the bottom of the tower hoping to see a deep shaft. Bad luck. It was only 3 inches deep! Sad We never knew this place existed until today, even though we have eaten at the nearby hotel several times in the past.
Took: Reflector
Put: Rubber Elephant

Interesting tower, and a cute house. Very wet here today so the house looked very inviting. The local yoga class looked like they needed to speed up their movements on the nearby band stand. It was very cold. Took kiwi coin and left a reflector. Thanks Kiwideb. Clear skies, John

Lots of teenagers all over the tower, but we sat around for a while, and managed to retrieve the cache ok. No swaps though. Noticed there have been a few non-cacher finds of this cache.

Tis is the first of two Ringwood caches for thisarvo. Out caching with barcoder (formerly Emu-J, but now left the nest). We climbed the tower while the GPSr was averaging. Seconds later, I spied where I thought it would be, but left barcoder to find it herself, which she did in a couple of minutes of fossicking (pun intended).

Once again, geocaching has taught me something I didn't know. I worked in Ringwood for four years, but never visited this area, and never dreamt that there was a mine here once. (One of the signs on "Mullum Trail Bike" told me what kind of mine it was.) Thanks kiwideb for the cache.

IN: New Zealand 10c Coin (of course Smile)
OUT: Marble

What a great day to be out caching. Still need the 'sunnies' for a while yetCool. Dak and I had a great time at The Lake. Must say I am getting itchy feet re. placing a cache myself. I have some ideas starting to 'mull' around in my head. But, small steps.

IN: Spiderman badge
OUT: Tassie Devil

My first attempt at locating a geocache, didn't find it. I must have been soooo close but I suspect my untrained eye did not see the tell-tale signs of a hidden cache. Sigh.

I will go back!

25-Apr-04
Found at 05:00 hours by Myself and Em_Eagle.
Took key chain and carrabena.
Left Bead bracelet and scented candle.

Thanks kiwideb

25-Apr-04
Found at 0500hrs.
Evil_Hitman and myslef out, yet again when its starting to rain at night.
I looked just in the right spot at the right time again.
Next time maybe i'll attempt to head up the tower.
Took Keychain, and Carrabeena. Left Scented candle and bead bracelet made by me Smile

Thanks Kiwideb

Found at 6 pm 31/3/04 (not 30/3 as I wrote in the log). Have been through the car park before, but never realised you could get up the tower. I see what Beecaj means about the switch! Cache in good condition but pitty about the damage to the near by object[:(!].

In marble out super ball.

Thanks Kiwideb [8d]

When we got to the miners cottage, we stopped dead in our tracks yanking on geodog to stop! There must have been 100 people standing around the entrance having a drink and partying. It was a wedding ceremony - so we sat on some logs and pretended to be interested until people stopped looking at us. By then the GPS had settled down and was pointing (as it turned out) to the exact spot where the cache was hidden. Got to it at 4.45pm with no one realising what we were doing as they must have got bored looking at us. Took - Centenary Life Saving medalian, Left - clip.
Once again thanks kiwideb - you must live near us!

24-Mar-04
If you ever get up to Broken Hill you can go down one of this things on a mine tour which is pretty interesting.

01-Mar-04
Found on a lovely day on a good bike ride. Neat spot Debbie. Left a Royal Life Saving Society medallion and took a string of beads.
Now to check out the 'Mullum Trail Bike' cache.

12-Feb-04
Found it. Was the second time I had been here, but the first time there were lots of people around. Found it without much trouble. No exchange made.

David.

Found at 19.51 after a very brief search.

I thought the authenticity of the Miner's Lodge was sort of ruined by the un-1869 light switch on the outside through Twisted.

Left a belt clip key chain and took the packetknife.

Thanks, Kiwideb

We have been in this park before but we didn't know about this tower. The eTrex first took us away and then back to the right target location. After that, it was found quite quickly at 8:55pm. Took plastic dinosaur (triceratops?) and left Tasmanian Devil. While replacing the cache the local bullants (never liked them) were a distraction but we did our best to maintain the cache cover. There have been several muggle-finds and some of the logs are quite entertaining.

25-Jan-04
Found at 6:00pm. Cycled here from home as we also wanted to do Mullum Trail Bike by bike. We must have driven past here hundreds of times without ever realising that this very nice park was here. Young "H" scored his first find. Hooray. Took butterfly hair clip. Left Dinosaur.
Thanks from D,S & H B-A

14-Jan-04
We never new this structure was here even though we have visited this park before. Thanks for educating us. Nothing exchanged. Greg and Bev

12-Jan-04
Located this one a few minutes after locating The Wombles. An easy find in a very familiar location.

Swapped a nail file (just acquired) for a bead bangle.

Thanks Kiwideb.

10-Jan-04
Found by Jeff,Janine and Kayla the dog. Our last cache for the day. Found easily but left no swap as our swap was too big for the container. Very interesting place.
Thanks kiwideb

09-Jan-04
Found 20:05, To the trained Geocacher's eye this hidey hole stood out like dogs what's it's Big Grin so no searching was required.

Took tricoloured eraser and left rubber ball, thanks KiwiDeb for forcing us to stop in this great park that we have driven past so often.

06-Jan-04
I have added an extra log book as the previous one is full. Noticed a few entries from non cachers, they were good enough to keep with the game. One comment was interesting Red Face.

03-Jan-04
Found at 10am. Very easy with the cache sitting out in the open. Interesting logs to be read by passer-by’s, on a full sheet - will need to be repaced/extended.
Swapped glitter glue for an eraser.

08-Dec-03
Found at 1:40pm, after much fiddling with the GPSr, and a reluctant decoding of the hint.
No swap, since I had nothing suitable to leave.
Thanks kiwideb!

15-Nov-03
Found in the company of nutcache and pyrenees kid, second kiwideb cache for the day (I redeemed myself by finding this one before the others Wink)
No exchange made. Thanks kiwideb.

15-Nov-03
Took the long way in, lots of day visitors enjoying the lovely surroundings on a beautiful day. Found the general area easily enough, but the GPS was pointing to a spot away from the place where I finally found it (after resorting to reading the hint. An interesting place that I had no idea was there, thanks Kiwideb.

13-Nov-03
I've lived 2.5km from here for 4 years, go past on the train most days, and didn't know the tower was here. Have been to the lake many times though! Rode my bike down here. Found the cache in 30 seconds. Took & left nothing. Thanks Kiwideb.

11-Nov-03
Continued the bike ride on from Bridge Over Troubled Water to this cache. Found easily, which made up for the difficulty at the last cache. TNLN. Thanks Kiwideb!

10-Nov-03
Found by Mary & David at 1020. Planned a Kiwideb Day Out for today. Lost count of how many times we've driven past this place. A Lovely spot inside. Ducklings of every size and variety enjoying the area too. Looks like a good place to have a cache event. Had no idea there was mining activity around here. Took red key ring, left blue key ring. Thanks to Kiwideb.

09-Nov-03
Interesting spot. TNLN

08-Nov-03
Who'd of thunk it, the last place I would have expected to find a mine head! The park was heaving today on a sunny Saturday, and there was a young couple having wedding photos taken by the old shack. I swear I could hear the Mission Impossible theme playing as we stealth approached the cache! Anyway, cache found and entry written; took caribiner keyring left kids bracelets. Kids played on the playgound for ages on the way out; thanks for the cache KiwiDeb.

Found at 5ish. Knew the area well and found the place mentioned in the clue but wasn't thorough enough in the search. Eventually found it and then slapped myself for not looking properly in that spot in the first place. Missed Dorringer by less than an hour. Thanks for a fun cache kiwideb. TNLN

08-Nov-03
Found at 6.10pm after an enjoyable day caching in the Dandenong ranges. We got this one as it was on our way back home via Yea.
Found immediately, I climbed the tower and by the time I got down Meredith had found it and was completing log.
An interesting piece of history
No exchange
Thanks Kiwideb

Found this, the first cache find for Team Actioncow! at 6:30pm on this beautiful sunny spring evening. Don't have a GPS yet but found it easily with the clue Smile Looking forward to finding many more. Took the spring clip thingy, left a carabiner keyring. Thanks Kiwideb for the great first caching experience.

06-Nov-03
Had a nice climb to the top of the tower and a chat to some locals while waiting to do this cache. Eventually found and TNLN.
This cache is also near a great playground for the kids.

Thanks Kiwi Deb

Who would have thought that this was a gold mining area. I did the obligatory climb of the tower giving a pleasant view of the surrounding area. I was running short on time as I arrived for this one. Luckily, I found it in the first place I looked. (I think it may have been partially visible before I arrived).

I took some glitter glue and left a spring clip. Thanks, Kiwideb, for an interesting park and for a slice of history.
