Found during a road trip around Central NSW. A short stop for this old school cache. Walked out to GZ and figured the cache would be at a slightly different elevation to ensure it wasn't stumbled upon quite so easily. After skirting around, I located the ammo can tucked beneath some rocks. TFTC
Visited it during 28-days geotrip to Australia, N.Caledonia, Vanuatu, Fiji, Am.Samoa, Fr.Polynesia with Marci, Ch. Sometimes we logged as "MT" or "Jonea" or "MTCh". Thanks for showing nice caches and places. MT-Jonea from Brno city in Czechia EU.
Found after visiting Mt Tomah Botanic Gardens on a magnificent May day. The Blue Mountains are absolutely beautiful, the view from here is no exception. Tftc. Cheers bwbanditJust noticed that this log had stored, so logging now
Climbed mount banks this morning. Was disappointed with the view but noticed on the way back down, that I likely couldve reached an awesome knoll from the main track before entering the forest, visible to the right. This would have given the views I was seeking!
Our last day in the Blue Mountains before we started the drive back to Adelaide. The Mount Banks trail had been recommended, and as an added bonus, a cache was nearby. There was no must today, although the clouds did start feeling in. After completing the summit loop, we approached the cache. Started at the wrong elevation, but a quick look around and we know where to head. The cache was found and the fantastic view was admired as we signed the log. My favourite sort of cache!
Beautiful awesome view. It was only 10 metres as I didn't want to go down. Due to no buddy. So another time.
Some of these old-school caches along Bells Line of Road have been on my radar for rather a long time. It's been a few years since I was last up this way. Today, I was heading to the Newnes Plateau for an FYAOAL event. On the way there I stopped off to look for this cache.
On my map there was a trail from an earlier parking spot that seemed to head in the right direction. Thus, I parked accordingly and took a stroll down said track. However, the trail ended up far too high and still some distance from where the cache was. So it was back to the car and a short drive down to the main parking area where the main walking and cycling trails start. A short walk in the direction of the cache brought me to the correct place up on a ledge. The correct overhang was soon discovered, along with a nice, decent-sized cache. This is how caching was in the early days when I started.
I added my name to the logbook ... still the original book after all these years. That's awesome. However, I didn't write a long story in the logbook as I would have done back in those days. That is now done online.
Thanks, The 2 Dogs, for this amazing caching experience, and for showing me a place I'd like to explore a bit more in future, probably on my mountain bike.

I had been hoping to find this cache for a while now, mostly when driving past the area for canyoning trips, but until now had ran out of energy or daylight afterwards to even attempt it.
This time I was canyoning in the area and passed by on the return walk to the car so it was my opportunity to make the find. I had to use a scribe from inside the cache, just to note it is running out of ink/drying out.
Thanks for the cache.

An early morning drive through the Blue Mountains to Bathurst to team up with Meritonnn, Team Canary and GGCoconut for a weekend of geocaching.
A short drive along the trail ended up at a parking area. Leaving the warmth from my car, I was greeted by a cold freezing wind. It was 1 degree Celcius!
Sliding down along the rocks the cache was spotted. After signing duties I admired the views before hurrying back to the car to warm up again.

Quite an easy find in an area we have explored only recently, but did not have time to grab a cache on that occasion. Living in such a large LGA gives us plenty of scope for walking in this wonderful area during these covid times. Cache is in good condition. Signed and replaced. Thanks Shrouded in Mist for placing the cache.
Second look success! Mt Banks is one of my favourite places I could spend all day there. ️️️
The Grose, the beautiful Grose, always worth a visit. Great views from near this cache. TYFTC
This one was found while we were hunting caches around this area with ilook4geo. It was in the obvious place and that made it easy to find. Log was signed with both names and all was then put back into position. Love finding some of these old caches. This one is in excellent condition. Thank you The 2 Dogs for placing this cache. Favourite point for the views.
Caching around here and picking out a few caches along with goingplaces2. Nice find here. Fav added. TFTC.
What a great afternoon for a cache and what an excellent spot. First in 2 years!! TNLN SL TFTC
I love days like today where the landscape is shrouded in mist. What a beautiful spot. So quiet, you could hear a pin drop. TFTC
Came down this road just to have a look thought id check to see if there was a cache and there was one here with a fantastic view thanks for bringing me here
Found a while back, forgot to log. Had a nice mtn bike to the end of trail and then hike up to the trig point on Mt Banks. Lot of fire damage around but not on top. TFTC.
When I first started caching , this cache was only 2 years old and I've never gotten around to finding it. Taking a drive along the BLoR after the inferno I was really not expecting to find any caches at all, they couldn't have possibly survived armageddon. The road to Mt Banks was open so I detoured from the main road and have no words for the utter devastation that I saw over the Grose. The track to GZ was totally burnt out and quite difficult to see. Having found GZ, I didn't expect to find anything but , there before me lay an untouched ammo box, totally unburnt, not a bit of soot anywhere. The logbook and contents in perfect order. So glad this old school cache survived the on slaught.

Out with my wife exploring the area. A quick find after a short walk. Thanks 2 Dogs.
Definitely not a spot of mist here today, but the view was great nonetheless. Heading up onto the cache walk and thought we'd grab this first before we set off. Found it quite easily - tftc!
Out for a few caches which have gone down since we were here last. Took nothing left nothing, Cache all good, good coordinates. 2nd. for the day. TFTC

Our first cache officially as DeCoy78. Out on an adventure with jkcourtz, my wife and I have officially joined. Beautiful find! Great view!

Oh My Gosh! I thought this place was one of the best geocache locations I have been to. I can only imagine how much more magnificent it must have been the day you hid it!
Thank you so much for the cache and driver reviver stop. <3

Up to the bluies this w/e for a family getaway with nothing but a GPS and a pack of cards. Today this cache lived up to its name. We pulled up at the P and was greeted to a view shrouded in mist lol. It was cold, wet, and windy... but we were all determined to get to GZ and sign our 800 milestone cache together.
Absolutely love caches like this. TN but dropped our very first team novo PT. Please do log if you lift it, cheers. TFTC, 2 Dogs!

Found this one a few weeks ago but kept forgetting to log it. The photo in the recent 'team novo' log was handy to show my own log entry and confirm that I am logging the find on the correct date.
Thanks 2 dogs for a nice stopping spot to break our trip.

Find #2150
A couple of weeks ago we did an EarthCache in the Grose Valley called 'A Lockley Story' - from Lockley's Pylon we had a great view of Mount Banks and the clifflines along here. So we decided that on our upcoming trip through here, we'd visit here and try and see Lockley's Pylon from the reverse vantage. We couldn't see it, too far for our binoculars I suspect, but had a great time finding this old cache. We parked in the car park area, and followed what seemed like a nicely trodden geotrail across to some rock formations, then followed our noses down to a SPOR in a nicely sheltered spot, with stunning views.
A great quality container in a great quality spot - worth every second.... thanks 2 Dogs..... we left 2 TBs...

Visiting my son in Sydney and we want d to find some snow so headed to the mountains. As we got to the car park, I said, there has to be a cache here somewhere. Of course there is! My data wasn’t working other than to tell me the general direction so I employed my geo brain and after a scramble of had it. Currently 1.1 degrees and snow is approaching! tftc and although it wasn’t the reason I came up here, it was an amazingly beautiful experience!
Out caching with oldmorty and marj01. An early morning start is always on the cards when out with marj01 and today was no exception. After driving from the Eastern Suburbs to Lithgow, we made a U turn and headed back via the Bells Line of Road caching as we went.
Another bumpy drive down a track to another picnic area. A bit of bush bashing involved when we got there. Were not sure which track to follow. Bit slippery under foot. Eventually found cache and the track we should have followed. TFTC The 2 Dogs

Out caching with some fellow caches, being Frazeydaze, Oldmorty Haven't been hear for some time, a canyon before kids. Thanks for the cache
Out from the eastern suburbs for a days caching with frazeydaze and marj01, and the chosen area was out west and in the mountains. Four of the caches in the mountains that were more than park and grabs, Shipwrecked, The Castle, Weather Beaten and Shrouded in Mist provided spectacular views over the mountains. Certainly no mist on this bright sunny Anzac Day. TFTC The 2 Dogs.
A short wonder on the way home from our adventure and bam!! An easy find when we were at the coordinates
Got a little damp getting out here but such a cool spot. Bit of mist good cloud and sunset. Thankyou
Definitely worth the find. The view was amazing, came here on a sunnier day and was more adventurous after having no luck before on a cloudy day.

No mist today, a cloudless sky and a clear day, sunny but not too hot. Cache wasn't too hard to get too as at first I thought bush bashing would be required, but there in fact are a few paths. Once at GZ, cache is an easy find. The unbelievable view and the ammo tin size makes it very rewarding. Perfect spot for a cache! Fav point awarded. Tftc!!
How very apt as today on our visit to Mount Banks the view was non existent...shrouded in mist and rain. Out for a District cub walk with JJCC and finishing the walk we made our way back up to GZ. JJCC made the discovery and sheltered from the rain retrieved the container. With the cache safely in hand, we both signed the log and replaced as found. Both the cache container and log and in excellent condition.

Out today with Team Merlin and for a district cub scout walk. After completing the walk we returned to the picnic area. Now very damp and while we were here we decided to continue getting wet and make a find for the day.
With coordinates in hand we headed further towards GZ which was definitely Shrouded in Mist. With visibility only a few meters we located GZ. Initially we realized that we may of been at the wrong elevation. So we continued to find another way round. We then saw a possible hide location. Bingo we had found the tell tail signs of a cache hide. Now enjoying the shelter from the rain it was very lovely location a pity we could not see the view. With cache in hand we both signed the log before replacing as found. Both the log and cache container are in excellent condition. Thanks for the recent maintenance

Driving up and over to Lithgow to visit a mate. I stopped at a few spots along the way. Thanks
Heading out for an overnight trip at acacia flat campground and decided to stop here on our way to pierces pass. What a stunning view. I never tire of what the mountains have to offer. Thanks for the cache.
#675 found this one while out along the Bells Line of Road. Brought along a white ammo can to replace the cache. Signed the log and transferred the goods across. Took out the old container. Thanks for the cache The 2 Dogs
For the next person going to this one, please take a new large-ish container. The camo has shattered the lid. Must be a well-protected spot from the elements though, as the contents are in good condition.
Went fruit picking in Bilpin - the apples were ripe, crisp and very tasty. Having sampled quite a few whilst picking it was time for some exercise so walked up Mt Banks with wife and son. A really nice Sunday excursion, capped off with this cache.
Thanks The 2 Dogs. The cache is in good shape - the box is broken but the contents are still dry. Found at 1:24 PM.
