As there's been either no response from the cache owner, no cache to find or log to sign, or it's been a number of months since the last owner note. Undergoing some maintenance!

13-May-12
With this one not having been found for some time Justjessie and I decided to see how it went. We found the Christmas Tree, but could not find WP1.

Read logs and see all the talk about it being anywhere from 5 to 20mts to the right! So, who's right are we looking from??? Spent some time before attempting a differant technique to find GZ which was sucessfull after a short search. Cache still there and surprisingly dry.. TFTC

Found a way to the waypoint with a hole in the fence. Got to it and found it quickly. A short walk to gz and was happy I had long pants on. Spotted the hide quickly. Logbook is getting full, sorry didnt have a new one on me. Had a quick read of the past years. Left 10 pences TFTC Good to grab another old one!

14-Dec-10
Found WP1 easily with the coordinates listed in the logs. Despite my gaiters and short I still got grass seeds all over me. Off to GZ and a nice view in the late evening. I took a log book to put in, but it didn't fit. Either way there are HEAPS of blank pages in the book if you just flip through it a bit.

Evicted spiders and webs from the cache. Added a US 1 penny, took nothing.

great find. views where good.swaped a cupple of coins but it needs a new log book. thanks

3rd find on what was a lovely sunny Canberra winters day. Great view from up here and topped off with a nice cup a tea...

I'm glad we bought hiking boots last weekend, they made this climb much more enjoyable. WPs found by Geokid1 using our new Garmin eTrex (bought earlier today.)

The notebook needs replacing - it's completely full.

TNLNSL, TFTC. Will post photo of Geokids a little further up the hill from the GZ, forgot to take one at the actual spot.

01-Mar-10
This was a very rocky area to walk though. A nice little multi. TNLN. TFTC

Are you any good at picking locks? Coz I'm pretty sure the cord to link my phone to my computer is in the locked draw in the sun-room. a) when did I clean up? b) why did I lock it? Damn Christmas! hmmmm....will attach the photo of Elvis by his not-overly-Christmasy-Tree shortly....or whenever I figure out how to open the draw again.

Oh yes....and TFTC. Smile

15-Aug-09
Nice easy Multi TFTC.
Took the kids wife and dog for a walk on a wet winters afternoon. A bit of work for the kiddies climbing up the hill. As a local Theodolite had to get this one checked off.
Photo coming as soon as we work out how to get it off the wifes phone.

11-Jul-09
The Dinobots had a great time completing this cache. It was almost the cache that never was, when the batteries in the GPSr expired 200m short of WP1. Fortunately we had spares in the camera bag. The junior Dinobots were having a great time watching the bird life, heaps of rosella, with the highlight being spotting a pair of rare black cockatoos.

After a short walk and a bit of a climb from WP1 the cache was quickly found.

As the junior Dinobots were enjoying an apple we received a visit from old man kangaroo (see image 2).

Left - a 1 Tongan Pa’anga’e note and 20 sentiti coin.
Took - Geotag GC

Thanks for the cache geoaware.

PS the log book only has one blank page left.

12-Jun-09
A short walk, a fight with a fence and a great view of the very low cloud and this one was dealt with. I love the short walks with great outlooks. Thanks.

It was fun with two caches and pretty good view. PS. Logbook is getting a bit full.

09-Mar-09
I probably shouldn't have assumed that wp1 would be at the top of a hill - I needlessly hiked a few extra vertical metres.

Left a Korean coin.

26-Feb-09
Found with Big Matt after a short walk from WP1. The view from here and a little higher up the hill is quite good. The steepness of the hill gives uninterrupted views to Theodore below. Photo to follow as noted in Big Matt's log. TNLN and TFTC.

1997.

Found this one this afternoon with FarmerFrentzen. We had a nice little wander up the hill. We managed to get some photos of the view, I'll upload them when i get them off my phone.

Thanks geoaware for the cache.

I wasn't in the mood to walk up the hill, but Mc Kenna was going so I figured I would as well. Included is a very fuzzy pic of my socks and the cache.

739 - Even though it is archived other people seemed to be finding it so I had a go.

Glad I did as its still very much available - enjoyed the sharp little climb in the rain.

TNLN - TFTC !!

Cheers....

Found this cache today, easy find but very cool with all the different currency. Wondering why this cache is disabled but anyway another wonderful cache done Smile. TFTC!

04-Nov-08
On the basis of other log comments I decided to come calling on this cache. Based on the corrected figures I made it straight to the WP, then to the GZ.

A bitter cold wind this morning (just for the horse race crowd) so didn't hang about. TNLN, TFTC.

17-Oct-08
This cache has been on the to-do list for a while, so seeing that other people were logging it, I had a go at it today.

McPhan will be pleased to know that the huntsman found his way back to his home. I was able to retrieve the numbers without flinging his home away again (but only just!) and then on to the cache for a quick find.

No swaps today, I'd left my funny money in the car.

Thanks geoaware

1430. After doing TV trouble I was close enough to attempt this one. Not sure why I didn't do this one in my early days - maybe it looked too hard.

Found WP1 and was so engrossed in finding the numbers that I didn't see the huntsman inside the container. So walking 20 meters to retrieve the container I then checked for the spider. It wasn't there anymore so I entered the numbers in my baby and away I went to GZ. An amazingly friendly kangaroo finally decided it had had enough of my company and move off, so the find was made.

TFTC and the wander around this part of the world.

Still there. Still good... though monopoly money does not count.

With these new points this cache works perfectly please re-enable it. Thank you for the fun cache.

#218 - Found easily. Enjoyed fossicking through the coins. We were glad this one was not at the top of the hill! TNLNSL. TFTC

20-Jun-08
Followed the lead of the previous finders and decided to have a crack at this afterwork.

Eventually found a place to park for access and made my way to WP1, and with those co-ords in hand, had a shortist walk to GZ. Being a mountain goat would of helped, but never-the-less, it was a sort of easy walk.

TNLN, (although the NZ coins would of been handy 2 weeks ago!!) & TFTC.

Cheers,

14-Jun-08
So glad this one's now off my unfound list. There was certainly no problem finding the WP and the cache is still nicely tucked away.

01-Jun-08
Skimming through our unfound list recently I noticed a recent 'found' date against this, so looking through the logs I saw that it was still possible to do this cache. It's a dry scrambly hillside at the moment, that could dearly do with some rain, but consequently the cache is dry and safe in its little hidey hole. TNLN thanks Geoaware. As SS-BJC says, why not reactivate this as there are lots of new cachers in Canberra who will be glad to do this one. I'm sure one of us will offer some TLC if you would like. Thanks.

14-Apr-08
After reading the logs, I thought I would give this one a go. Got to the bottom of the hill and nearly kept driving, but glad I went looking for it,

left a 50 Rupee note

Took a couple of Euro cents.

Hi geoaware, please enable your cache and perhaps just put a note in the listing to say read the logs for more information. This cache has been disabled for as long as I have been caching - more than a year. Don't let this one disappear....

Your cache still works really well, and I enjoyed it. I strolled up to the Aussie Christmas Tree - looked over 5 metres to my right and I could see the "ornament" in a small rock pile at the base of the tree. Got the GZ coords and a short stroll later I was there checking out the stash. Nice hide with some good views - took some pics to share.

Dropped by this cache to see if it cold still be found as the notes suggest, and it can. This listing should be reactivated using Super-T’s coordinates of S35 27.345 - E149 07.243 for the location of WP1.

The cache is in good condition. I wouldn’t bother looking for the ‘yule tide’ item, what ever that was, just go to the above co-ords and find the hidden item there. GZ was not far away.

Good collection of coins and good views of the valley.

If this cache is not going to be reactivated then perhaps it should be removed or relocated (not many caches would come to this page if the listing comes up as disabled on the search page. I clicked on it just to see what used to be there when I realised it is still able to be found by reading the logs)

TNLN

27-Mar-08
Either look 20 metres or so to the right of the co-ordinates, or use the set in my last post, and this cache will still work.
Whether you can actually LOG a cache that's disabled is another matter, but it should still work. All the bits were in place when we last did it, it's just the last set of co-ordinates are out by an extraordinary amount considering the amount of sky visible from the location.

26-Mar-08
Hi Geoaware - any idea when this would be maintained?
Perhaps you could talk to Super-T to see if he will maintain it for you, and re-enable it if he will?
Regards

11-Mar-07
OK, went back to the cache today to try to repair it for the owner, and found the item with the second set of co-ordinates on it, has been rehidden by someone about 20+ metres directly to the right of the "yuletide icon" at the co-ordinates S35 27.345 - E149 07.243
If you use these co-ordinates the cache will work again.

Items to note:
About 50-60 metres up and to the right is an amazing aboriginal-style shelter that is worth taking a look at.
And directly downhill a dozen or so metres from the FINAL CACHE is an abandoned natural beehive of honeycomb in a small shrub.

Have emailed the owner the new co-ord's, or better still, so that the original co-ordinates work again, the next to find could re-hide the item under the correct tree (but perhaps not hang it there this time as it would look like a peice of litter caught in the tree if hung up again)

18-Feb-07
Just a note, we didn't find the clue in a tree, we found it at the foot of a tree(uphill side) sitting under some debris. I forgot it was meant to be in a tree, but just letting prospecting finders know about this. It was about 8m from the GPS Zero, which isn't unusual for most caches anyhow.
Cheers.

17-Feb-07
Found a small black wire in an Aussie Christmas tree,
it would appear that the low life muggle has struck again.

17-Feb-07
Yep, Pajbasher is right, just a little black wire and no co-ordinates, so, no findey thisey cache today.

17-Feb-07
I am so sorry that this has happened again!!! I will not be able to replace the 'clue' for a whiles...so I will disable the cache.

27-Jan-07
Found with Hayleylou,
This was a rather steep cache, thanks to it being 'not' at the top of a hill this time. Can't believe the amount of rubble and damage the recent rains caused the side of this hill. Unbelieveable.
TNLN SL
TFTC!

27-Jan-07
Found with frebbles. Bit of a steep spot for a cache, but was more worried at the time about the walk to our next cache, Tuggeranong's Top, which is much longer and seemed just as steep! Nice idea for a cache. TNLN

11-Jan-07
The first of two caches that I did after work today - and I discovered that I had already done both of them in my infant caching days and had failed to log them online back then (29 October 2005)... d'oh !! Anyway, I keep saying what a mess the recent storms made of Canberra - look no further than this hillside for evidence. In fact, all the loose dirt, stones and gravel make it a bit more hazardous than it was previously - I don't think that I would be taking my kids up there at the moment. That said, both parts of the cache were in perfect condition, though I seem to remember waypoint one hanging, rather than on the ground (??). Whatever, it is still in the correct location.

T: 10c Euro (Eire)
L: 50c Mexican

TFTC ! (again... Cool)

26-Nov-06
Found it with Wasptor, great hide, TFTC

26-Nov-06
Went straight up the hill after this one, and didn't really have much trouble finding it. Although left the pregnant geowife at the bottom of the hill and ran up and back. Traded a couple of coins, and dumped a fair few european coins from our last holiday. TFTC.

27-Oct-06
This was supposed to be a quick little caching expedition for me but, due to my own poor judgement, I ran out of petrol on the way and it ended up taking all morning. Aaaarrgh!

Found the cache without any trouble. TNLN.

21-Aug-06
No luck with this cache. We found the yuletide look-alike with the coke bottle hanging there, but the co-ordinates were missing from the inside. (Stolen again? Maybe the bottle could be replaced by something a little less conspicuous?)

21-May-06
We found this more by good luck than good management - we could only read one lot of new coordinates, so I thought only the E coord changed. Red Face

Alas, there was obviously another coord that we needed but the terrain was so steep that I really didn't want to climb back down again. Fortunately the clue came in very handy & within a short time we had success.

If you are having similar problems at the yuletime tree - try swapping 348 with 326 & I hope that gets you closer!

Perhaps there is a simpler way to approach this cache, but we ended up scrambling through a barbed wire fence - not particularly easy to do & helps to have assistance.

Swapped Canadian for NZ currency.
By the way - there is a pencil there now. TFTC

21-May-06
This is a good toughish uphill climb[B)], (made harder because my mum did not read all the co-ordinates. All up this is a 7/10 for difficulty and 8/10 for veiws.

06-May-06
Late afternoon find. Yuletide look alike took a bit of figuring out as coords had faded badly but if you look at it at just the right angle with the sun in the right place and the temperature just right and of course have a genius geo-mates along with you (females that is) you can work it out. Left 10 bart...spending up big time! Note, there is no pencil or pen in this cache so take your own.

19-Jan-06
Found new container and all worked like clockwork! We swapped a Cypriot 5 for an Indian 10 (don't know the smaller currency units). Shall have to do some homework to find out what denomination these coins are. Geogranny lost her haematite bracelet somewhere on the hill so it's there for the taking if you can find it. Not all bad news though, she found an old 1 cent coin on the other side of the fence so is of the mind that it was a reasonable swap Smile

14-Jan-06
Hi all...yes, the clue from the first stop had been removed. However, with the help of FJ and JK, I have replaced it and the cache is back up and running!

08-Jan-06
Thanks for the info...i will go check out if things are not right and post a note when its back to normal!

07-Jan-06
Found the yuletime look alike, but alas nothing in it except the wire it was probably hanging on. Kids were dissapointed. Will try again another time

06-Jan-06
Cache number two for us. found the both bits fairly easy, although not too sure if the aussie yuletime look alike still applies. Terrain was steep and very dry (heaps of burs etc), dogs loved it, but lost one of them while I was swapping coins. Found her 20 minutes (and some distance later) then headed off to find Tuggeranong's Top. Cheers!
T: Greek? 10 coin
L: Indian 10 coin

26-Dec-05
Well done, was fun.Hot day.

Took 100Kr Honduran , Left 50p Irish

25-Dec-05
This one was close to my brother's house in Theodore where we had just had Christmas lunch.
Hoped to work a bit of the christmas lunch off, but it ended up being rather an easy walk.

11-Nov-05
This cache must have been placed by a family with mountain goat genes Wink Great views of the southern suburbs from the GZ. TN, left Canadian $1 note and set of centavos coins from Republica Democratica De Timor-Leste. TFTC.

29-Oct-05
A nice walk with a bit of side ways walking to avoid the slightly slippery slope. Good view of the surrounding suburbs!

Found with frogdude, frogbabe and Steve.

Took: Kiwi coin
Left: Singapore coin

Thanks!

24-Oct-05
Found out that I never got around to logging this one... Better late than never. Took us a little while to find the yule-time look-alike but we found it eventually. No probs finding the actual cache though. It was more of a steeplechase between the group of us to see who could get there first.

08-Sep-05
Found this one at lunch in my business suit. Probably not the best attire for doing a cache like this... but found it anyway. I had no idea what a yuletime was, so I looked at everything including strange looking rocks and trees.

Wonderful spot with great veiws. TNLN. TFTC.

06-Aug-05
This was my 2nd ever cache and not knowing the types of things to look for I found it a bit tricky, but got it at 3-45pm today.

I had no international money, so I left/took nothing.

I will visit again before my next trip o/seas, particularly if I am travelling to monopolyland

Thanks for the effort in setting this up - a top job

Cheers
Peter

03-Jun-05
My geowhippet and I found this one with little effort, though it was a bit 'scrambly' in places. Fun none the less!

Took nothing, left 500 Yen and 100 South Pacific Francs.

05-Mar-05
Found by Dad with Alice, Nicholas + David M. Left various European coins + Chinese. Took Canadian coin.

22-Jan-05
The day was getting a bit warm so where we glad you did not have to go to the top of the hill. Did all the caching stuff then strolled back to the car.

07-Jan-05
I wandered up to within 50 metres of this cache and thought, nope, can't be there, there's a nasty barb wire topped fence between me and there. But then I noticed something helpful. I loved the Aussie Yuletide clue and the other clue. Hehehehe. Very funny. Nice view from the cache, got bitten by ants.
In, 10 couns including a 2 Euro cents, 5Euero cents, 10 Euro cent, 10 Canadian cent, 1 Canadian cent, 2 US 5 cent coins, 1 US 10 cents, 1 Plastic coin and 1 other coin.

Out 5 couns including the one with the hole in it. Mainly looked for pretty ones rather than value. I left the Loonie because I have some of those.

24-Nov-04
A very Australian locale for a cache with an international flavour! Took Cypriot piastre, left a Singaporean 10c and a Greek drachma.

08-Oct-04
This hill certainly does deserve its 3* rating (a few thrills and spills were had on the way up and down), still once there it is a good view. The cache was relatively easy to find (with the clue, as the GPSr was a little off)...Left US quarter and took canadian $2 retrieved from the bottom of the hiding place (along with a number of other coins that seemed to have inadvertently made their way down there)

18-Sep-04
FJ, JK and I visited our cache and replaced pencils...so no more writing in the log with a burnt stick!

08-Aug-04
This was a little frustrating interlude among the other hunts in the area. My GPSr had me 10-12m out, and having left the log in the car spent some time walking in a spiral checking all obvious spots. After giving up I went back to the car and grabbed the log - hmmm - read the clues boofhead! Went back up the hill and located the yuletide message - coords still showing some difference but managed to locate the cache from the further clue. Grin turned to groan when I discovered there was no writing instrument within - nope not walking back to get one past the yapping dogs again!
Rule 1: Read the log!
Rule 2: Always carry a pen!

T: Nil
L: a holey 1 Kina from PNG.

18-Jul-04
Nice easy find, love the clue! Left post war aluminium Japanese Yen, and just for balance a US 1c coin. Another spectacular view of the best part of the ACT, though didn't hang too long as there is snow on the hills and a wild gale..Thanks Geoaware for another hillside adventure. ZZ
PS no pencil, had to use burnt wood to make my entry. Woops!

15-Jul-04
Havnt been on the web for a while but found this on the 15th, took a yank and canad coin and left some kiwi's. Whoever left the monopoly money, I dont think that counts as foreign!, mind the rocks on the way down.

27-Jun-04
After doing Southern Views I was a bit trepidatious about the words "steep terrain". However, it wasn't all that bad (I must be getting fitter).
While signing the log I could see a friend's house. I rang to get her to waive but she declined (didn't want to be seen in daggy socks Twisted).
I had no $$ on me at all, not even $AUS, so I TNLN.

04-Jun-04
This was one of the easiest hills, it may have been steep but it just stopped at the right time. Easy challenge and although the cache wasn't sealed all the contents appeared intact. left a canadian dollar i collected from Darwin and took a punt. tried to seal the container as best as possible and then off on another adventure.

20-Feb-04
This is my first geocache. Left a US quarter. No pencils, could not write in the log book. Geoware was with me and place new pencils ASAP.

10-Feb-04
Well - I think we need to add some maps to our geocaching gear - climbed the wrong hill first! Sorry - we didn't write in the notebook as we didn't have anything with us today - knew it was money so just took 4 assorted coins - 2 from The Philippines, an Irish Punt and a kiwi 20c. Took a little happiness. Loved the chrissy decoration!

24-Jan-04
I was thankful to read from earlier cacher's reports that I wouldn't have to climb all of the hill - especially as it was a warm day. Found the Yuletime tree and cache without any problems. Got a view of surburban life Tuggeranong style.

Left a $2 kiwi and one cent from the USA. Thanks Geoaware.

08-Jan-04
As with other ACT caches we have done, we are never quite sure of whether we are on private property or not. This had us worried a little so the younger members of the crew stayed behind with mum. I found it easily and swapped a US dollar for some happiness. During the wait the rest of the crew did constructive things like finding a Tick on our dog. Tick removed, dollar spent, coool.

21-Dec-03
As I pulled up in my car on the way to finding the cache I looked up at the near by hill and thought to myself. That's where I'll be going in the next few minutes. In the early summer heat no less. But I was pleasantly surprised. Only had to go far enough up to get a decent view.
Left a old German coin and took the coin with the funny eye and swirly characters on it.
Thanks for a great cache. BTW also thought that the offset clue was very good. Oh and also the rubber bands around the cache have perished and broken.

06-Dec-03
Huzzah I found it....

After a disappointing no find at Tugg Top...I came over to this one...I slipped down the slope after discovering the first waypoint and now have a nice gash...(not that bad).

Easy find....but I thought the final location would be further up towards the top....had to go and check the 1st WP because I thought I had entered the coords wrong!!!

TNLN

29-Nov-03
What a clever hiding place! We'd no paperwork with us on this one so didn't realise it was a multicache. It's no good looking for obvious hiding spots for a cache when it's not there! Found first way point and that led to success. Left the US$1 note we'd found at Wanniasa Wanderer and took a 1 millieme coin. Great concept for a cache!

28-Nov-03
Ah, a late evening ride, or more correctly, a push up the hill, MTBIKEROZ & bike found it. Left a New Zealand 20c coin & some other non-australian currency (monopoly), took the vietnam $2,000 - to be deposited up a tree in Pines by Panic.
After carrying bike back down hill, Cooee off I go.

27-Nov-03
My first virgin cache! YeeHaa. Accompanied by a junior geocacher we found it. We were a few metres off and I had consider carefully what the yuletide message was but eventually realised and found the coordinates. The second leg was no problem. Took a Belgium coin and left a Vietnamese note. (Hello Geoaware, FJ & JK - well done!)

27-Nov-03
Looks like we were beaten by 40 minutes!!! Grrrr...
Found by MattS, ThomasS, SueS, BiancaS and MistyD. Although SueS and BiancaS chickened out after the first waypoint… Yes the terrain was a little steep, but nothing the experienced cachers couldn’t handle, and the dog loved the walk. We found the cache easily enough, but then a minor problem was encountered. MattS, who had dutifully brought along a 1 Pound coin to swap, discovered he had left it in the car… Oh well, admired the various coins and a $2000 note, and decided to come back some time later for a swap...
P.S. loved the concept, thanks geoaware…
