We stopped to let an brand new Audi race past us. As we left I commented there was the paradise we missed on the way in. Dad found a place to turn around and there we were. Beautiful place indeed. Two dangers: stinging neettle and slippery rocks. Only second got us. Both container and logbook were in good condition. Thanks Trigger_Fish for the cache. Find# 2734

Wow, what an amazing spot. This is why I love geocaching: to find places like this. I stopped here a few days ago and was unable to find the cache. I came back this morning and found it quickly, after reading the other logs and realizing I was overthinking the hide and making it way too difficult. TFTC

#10,051. Day 2 of the extended Labour Weekend geocaching road trip. I flew down with geocaching buddy Infoferret yesterday with a target list of geotour caches, adventure labs, puzzle finals, a few virtuals and a hike to get the DGSC final. We can't resist stopping to pick up a few traditionals on the way to boost the overall numbers.

Heading now towards Kumara but decided to stop and pick up some traditional caches along the road. I had stopped here in 2018 but it was raining at the time and the small creek was in full flood. I thought I would get washed away so didn't attempt. Today it was dry and sunny and the walk to GZ was easy. No need to walk up the the creek at all. What a lovely hidden waterfall. I misread the hint and searched all around without success. Finally I took a wider perspective on the hint and saw the cache way over there. Nicely hidden. Signed and replaced where found. Thanks Moneydork for the cache. Deserving of yet another favourite for such an old cache.

In my excitement of finding the cache I skipped over and the contents went everywhere... I found most items... but there’s a glow in the dark dinosaur lost to nature... hopefully the next lot here find it!

Absolutely gorgeous my favourite one out of our whole trip away. Well worth the path making, found a wee ??plaque?? For an angel baby?? I could be wrong

On another note, my love was walking the cache to me and the pen when he slipped and everything went flying up in the most comical way , tried to find all the trinkets but he’s thinking there’s one missing.

Thank you for the cache and bringing me to this serene beauty

Our first cache of the day - we went to Arthurs Pass. First stop to collect another old cache, placed in a missing month of our Jasmer Grid. And we found a little jewel here! What a nice surprise, a shady grove and a nice waterfall.
We enjoyed being here very much. After taking some pictures we looked for the cache and found it.

Thank you for the cache and showing this place to other cachers! It's a FP well earned.

The road trip has begun and we are having lots of laughs, hunting hard and signing logs. Signed JEN as I am caching with Nosynel and Jude_E. TFTC and apologies for the generic log.

***[======== NZ Mega 2020 ========](http://nzmega.com)***

Planning for the [NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:

* 20 years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20 years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* And it's 2020 - all the 20s!

Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](http://nzmega.com) - you won't want to miss it!

Now this is one that looks interesting - we must arrange a stop on our way home! Easy to find and admire the waterfall (another, this is a place we'd never have seen if it weren't for geocaching moment). Finding the cache.... well, Mrs D was expecting a 2 or 3 litre regular so scrambled up to the top of the rock in skirt and sandals and searched around. Very scenic and some nice spots, but scratching head because this is 3 m from GZ and no cache. Mr D standing on the ground puts up a hand and says, here it is... duh! definitely worth a stop, thank you Moneydork.

Parked at the bay across the road and followed the beaten vegetation to the water fall. Lots of hiding places. Looked up helped. Perhaps jandels weren't the best footwear.
Thanks for the fun, Moneydork!

So before you over think this cache as I did. You know looking into the waterfall. Climbing the waterfall. Looking into the small crevices. LOOK AT THE SIZE! Way over thought. Typical me thinking I know where the cache is. One of our favorite NZ caches. Fav from us. Well deserved. More caches could be lead by this awesome example.

KL6 and I are in NZ for 16 days or so exploring the South Island mostly by campervan—with a few shoulder days in BnBs. We plan to visit the Fjordland first—Milford Sound—and the back track and head all the up the Punakaki Pancake Rocks vía the west coast, stopping by Franz Joseph along the way. Then back down to the lakes, Tekapo, Punaki, Mt Cook, and then Wanaka. Finally we’ll return back to Queenstown after our huge campervan adventure. Lastly back to Australia for a couple nights before heading back home to the USA.

Obviously, we stopped by this cache along the way. We originally had about 171 caches on the list to be near and check out. Whether due to favorites, or a planned stop for the evening. We have planned the adventure using cachetur.no which is amazing by the way. Highly recommend the website and app when you’ve got a lot to see and find. Helps keep you on track and it’s awesome to have a schedule with time estimates of when you’ll arrive at the next destination and if you’re ahead or behind schedule.

Thanks to Moneydork for the Cache! Found around 1:20 PM - I often sign as Wæki3 (shorthand for Wæki3_KL6 due to small logs and or KL6 not being with me for the cache find). This is Find #2184.
We have also contributed a lot of caches in the Flagstaff Arizona area, and currently to date we’ve hidden 85 caches. Even if you’re not in the area, I’m really into creating interesting and creative puzzles. I have some clever ones—many to do with logic, math, graphic design, or games. Checkout my certitudes page for a collection of many of the Unknown (Mystery) caches I’ve created (https://www.certitudes.org/feed?u=W%C3%A6ki3_KL6). Perhaps after a few solves, you’ll find yourself in the area.

Last day of the long weekend and a long drive back to Blenheim via Greymouth (yep, that’s right) with the goal of getting a whole heap of ‘bridge the gap’ caches and anything else easily accessible or interesting.
With a lot of kms to travel, there was not room for much more unfortunately.
So a successful trip but the real heroes were the weather and the scenery.
I had forgotten a bit how stunning it can be in and around places like Castle Hill and Arthur’s Pass, and a great spring day with snow-capped mountains for a backdrop made a bit of a self-inflicted slog actually quite enjoyable.
Thanks all COs, and sorry for the cut and paste, but I hope you can understand why. All logs signed Cap/ricnz or variations on the theme.

Had read about this one before the trip and was one of my must-dos for the trip. Was not disappointed and after parking across the road made the short distance into the bush to GZ. A lovely waterfall and the cache was an easy find too. T F T C Moneydork

Onto the trail proper now, it's caching all the way for lots of park n grabs and a couple of modest walks.
It's the last full day of the trip and I intended to make the most of the day and was up with the lark, cockerel more like, and in the car at 0530 ready to get going. I called in for an early brekkie and hit the road early to meet Ricardinho.nz at Springfield. We cached our way back to the West Coast via road barriers and others en route and I set off for home after leaving him in Greymouth after visiting all 8 of the TMGT caches there. Home at 7PM and a decent haul of over 80 caches, including 5 Earthcaches. Awesome scenery and views and a cracker day of weather too. 620KMS for the day travelled and time for a rest!
It's that time of year again when Marlborough residents get a double bubble, two 3-day weekends in a row and a chance to get out there and find some caches. Last weekend I headed over to Golden Bay with ricardinho and we managed a healthy numbers-boosting haul of 82 over 2 days. This weekend I'm planning on finding some already solved Canterbury caches and get me closer to a 5 figure finds number, the big 10,000. At the start of toSaturday this was a 4 day, at the end it was a 120 plus day!!
The Saturday was planned to be a big day and to get over 100 caches in a day if possible and start converting those puzzle pieces into smiley faces. Success was achieved in that we found over 120 each. I personally found my missing Smurfs, Metal Mania, Glossary of Geocaching as well as a number of other solves and collateral Traditionals. The Canterbury weather turned it on and a good day was had with ric.nz driving and me navigating (sort of)
The Sunday was a Geo-art loose ends day. My plan wqas to track down the remaining Smurfs, round up some horses and grab a couple of loose Eclipse mint tins. I also explored the realms of Springfield in preparation for a return across SH73 on Monday.

Down from Northland, visiting the South Island on a 7 day caching and sight seeing trip. The main object was to find the last four CANZ caches, finish off my D/T grid, fill as many spaces as possible in my Jasmer grid and then concentrate on special types, solved puzzles, completed challenges and those with good numbers of favourite points, plus maybe a few extras that were close to any of our stopping points.

The trip started off on a good note, with our rental cache mobile being little more than a week old and only 109 kms on the clock. It certainly had a few more by the time we returned it..!

Final day today and heading back across to Christchurch from Greymouth in the only rain for the trip, but even that cleared once we made it to Arthurs Pass. Made a bit of a muck up too for today. Last night, I had planned out the caches to target on the way and added them to a list on the phone. However, I forgot the crucial step of downloading the offline data, so when I stopped in the Otira gorge to see how far to the first one, there was no signal and no information. Luckily a few kms further on at a higher point, there was one bar reception and I managed to get some of the data required.

Luckily too, it was just a couple of kms before this old one that I really wanted to fill a spot in my Jasmer grid. Pulled off into the safe parking area, donned the raincoat and headed off into the soaking bush. Once near GZ, I tried to work out the hint and then realised the cache was right there beside me. Glad to be able to sign the log on this oldie. Left 3 TBs, although I note that they have already been grabbed by Joolay before I have had the chance to log the drop. Safe travels. TFTC

We found this geocache while traveling through New Zealand. Today we travelled to Lake Brunner and Greymouth. First cache of the day was Hokitika Glow Worm Dell. We were here last night and enjoyed the twinkling lights. This morning we came back and there was no trace of them. I needed Roadside Paradise for my Jammer as well and was happy to find it rather quickly. Thanks for both caches!

On the road around the world, together with my boy friend Hloust, geo son Jonas_999, and friend Standarevnice, we also found this box. After the night in Hokitika and the amazing tide with shining worms, our journey continued towards Christchurch. We have chosen this box to visit because we like to find caches that have a long history. First we chose the wrong path. Standa slipped into the stream and dipped his boots. Then we went right and Hloust understood the hint and found the box. Thanks for the cache and send greetings from the Czech Republic.

Such a hidden gem this spot! I sighed at the 2,5 star terrain rating and the "no tracks" part as I had sprained my ankle yesterday and could barely walk but as this was so close to the road, decided to give it a shot. As the terrain was mostly flat I just had to watch my footing very very carefully and snailed to GZ without further injuries.
Cache was found surprisingly easy. Haven't been logged for just a bit over than a year! There was a more recent entry in the logbook though - adventurous muggles? Smile

Its a 3 week expedition, with The Seagnoid and Zara, round the South Island. Rakiura Walkway, my objective, is bagged, so its homeward bound the long way round. Its day 21 of our epic journey - Hokitika to Christchurch today.
Hey this place is neat. Yes a bit of a scramble at the start but great feature to make it worth it. a bit of hunting here but finally snagged and tagged. Cheers

TaybeeDragon and I are off for a three day walk on Stewart Island. But we have a camper, so once you add in getting there and back, it's a three week trip. Day 21: Hokitika to Christchurch.

At the last cache I said I was bored with pill containers and so was going to jump forward a few caches. Kinda worried its going to be like that all the way to Christchurch. But then I saw who the CO of this cache is. ***Stop!!** This is a Moneydork cache! They are always good!* And yes, it did not disappoint. Heck, it even has good parking.

We pulled up over the road on our way from Greymouth to Christchurch today and wondered if we would bother as we couldn't see any access and didn't know anything about the cache. We had fun with caching few weeks here in New Zealand. Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was pretty good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and really scenary country!

We flew over 20500 kilometers to get to New Zealand. [^] There in Queenstown we started our magnificent and unforgettable journey along the whole NZ. First we drove through south island and then the north island to Auckland. Altogether over 3000 kilometers by car and so many glorious and beautiful views, animals and plants we saw. [^] Cool We fell in love with the country for life. Unfortunately we had only three weeks to spend for our holidays, but we really hope we’ll be back. Big Grin

While driving to Christchurch along Arthur's Pass we stopped here and there. These regular-size caches are very good, so we stopped here with pleasure. And a fine cache we found. [^]Smile Thanks for the cache and very many greetings from Finland. Big Grin

Final count for the weekend was Saturday 124 caches, Sunday 80 caches. not a bad weekends work. sorry for the cut and paste but it would take forever to log them all. Wow what an awesome spot. fav point for bringing me here.

It was raining and knowing this is a Moneydork cache, it wasn't going to be that easy so we decided to leave this one for another day.

True to its name. A few strides was all it took to enter a new world. A fav. Thanks for showing this magic place and thank you Moneydork for placing this cache.

Short stop at our journey to the Arthur Pass. Due to it was raining like cats and dogs we were not able to start a walk at the pass, so we decide to "waste" the time to find all the caches a long the road. Normally we dont like to collect such a powertrail of caches, but it was better to stay at the pass in the rain. Thanks a lot for the cache.

Easy find because it was lying on the ground, put it back to were I think it should be.
Cool waterfall I there.
