The tree the cache was at the base of has grown a few centimetres and covered the cache with dirt, I have retrieved it today but had to dig for it. The growth of the tree has eaten up the small depression the cache was in so I am archiving it. But may place another geosketch in Newcastle sometime.
As we were looking without checking the web page, we didn't find it. As it turns out though, we were staring at it and even digging near it.
Oh well, next time we head up to Newcastle...

As mentioned by Cheeeeese2001, it helps to cache the website for this one. We had our GPSr's and some waypoints and charged of and was unable to find it. Our own mistake, will just have to get it next time we are up that way.
Finally.
What that buried rule? Third, no I think fourth time lucky. Between the scouts and mossies this caches need another star or two. One of the most elusive I have come across. Now it can be seen and the book is nearly full it would not surprice me if the bastard get stolen - All that hard work for a muggle to set fire to.
Some very good artists on our company - I hope you get a giggle out of my sketch fellow cachers.
Bronze, Bear (Mix in tow).

Another one down. This is the second smallest cache I've found I think, but a pretty easy find. Cache is in excellent condition.
I think my sketch was by far the worst to date. Really needed a bit more time.
Thanks for the hunt Mix. That's number 11 for me, so I think the time has come to return the favour again. Look out for "Don't Leave Me This Way" coming to a state forest near you soon...

Found this on the way from Maitland to Newcastle. A quick stop off and a great cache idea. Sketch is a bit bodgy though. Thanks for the hunt
Came. Saw. Fingers were too cold (7am in the morning) to bother attempting a sketch.
Only took three attempts, a firm prod from Mix76 to put me back in the right direction, much headscratching, and confusion, and most of all LUCK (my second attempt disrupted the hiding spot enough that the cache was finally visible on the third, later in the arvo!). Fortunately, no mosquito swarms! Some very neat sketches done by the others. Thanks, Mix76!
I suspect this cache may have been destroyed. Checked all around quite thoroughly (including the site The Bronze has photographed, and even in the nearby drain access!) as I had half an hour up my sleeve after work, but to no avail. :/ Will have another look during lunch tomorrow, but I fear the worst.
The locals across the road were fairly active but I think I was discreet enough.
There seems to be some artistic talent among Geocachers though I fear I may have let the side down. But I tried.
Thanks Mix76. A good idea.
Cheers, daz1950 Team.

Found it after a second visit. Don't know how I missed it the first time. A bit of encouragement from Mix helped. Anyway, found the cache, did a woeful "drawing" and waited for the people across the road to finish whatever they were doing before I could put back the cache.
Thanks Mix for the cache and the help.

Well what tod owhen you have a day to spare, no transport, and you're in a place you dont visit often... Go Geocaching.
Yay!
found this one whilst cycling around Newcaslte waiting for my 4x4 te get repaired.
My Bigest problem with this one was getting some of the pieces of my geosketch to stay still.
I had , as i ahave allready sai, a day to fill in, so i took my time and put in a little colour so my scketch would be more realistic.
good one Mix. now i have to find the other geoscetch sites.

Yay, after 3 attempts we found it.
Went in at dusk, almost dark, avoided the locals, scouts in hall and mozzies.
We did have a bit of intel gathered at the Maitland Cache event.
Left a really bad drawing.

It is still there I looked in today on way to Maitland Event, The Bronze looked for it but the Dib, Dib, Dib, Dob, Dob, Dob Muggles asked what he was looking for and it put him off looking. I had a quick squiz and she is there, Bronze had a GZ right next to it too.
Keep looking, as a result of NCC's grass cutting the flash of green that was showing as founding is now more obscured.

I'm pretty sure that this one has gone. Checked all the small trees in the area (including the one at the given co-ords). It appears that council(?) has trimmed all the weeds around the trees and even cleaned up in between the trunks of multi - trunked bottle brushes. At least the resident abusers were not in evidence today and all of the mozzies must have been at "The Cicada Trail".
Went back to this one after reading the note by Steelrat.
As it was Cleanup Aus day we took our rubbish bag and picked up some litter.
As soon as we got there we were attacked by the most vicious swarm of mozzies I have ever come across, even worse than Kooragang Island.
It was amazing, then someobody in the house opposite started shouting out abuse, hey we were only picking up rubbish.
So we had quick look around but still did not spot this cache anywhere near where the gps said it should be. We sounded the retreat and headed for the car taking with us dozens of mozzies.
Boy I'm glad I don't live on that street.
Maybe third time lucky.

Stopped off on my way back from SOUVENIRS to check on this one, to see if it has gone AWOL.
Sorry Bronze and Crimson8, you'll have to look a bit harder next time, as it is exactly where it is supposed to be.
I'll send a separate e;mail to Mix76 to unarchive this one, as it is still alive and kicking.[^]

Had good look around and didn't find this one.
As it is close to home we will check again and see if we have better luck.

I have NEVER found a new cache this quickly before!
After recovering from NYE, a quick check showed that Mix76 had found Bobs Blue Box of Bits only 2 days after I had hidden it. It also showed that he had hidden a new one himself, so I figured I would return the favour.
Checked the location in the directory, then chucked the family in the buggy for a quick trip. Found the spot easily enough, but had to dawdle a little as the locals were a bit active in the area (I'm a bit worried that this location may prove too visible and the cache soon wind up [xx(]).
Finally sat down at a bench and made my sketch, as quick as I could while fighting the mossies. I won't disgrace myself by posting a picture of it here, you'll have to go see it yourself.
Thanks Mix76, hope to see you 3/1/04.
