Looks like this one may have gone, any chance the owner could disable it until it can be checked out???
Found an obvious hiding spot pretty fast, but there was just no Geocache to be found (searched for one hour with a group of four). Either we weren't at the right place or the cache has been removed... Nevertheless nice Botanical Gardens.
Found the most likely spot that it would be in and searched high and low with Rumo and Rala, but with no success. Could possibly be missing in action? Enjoyed the walk through the gardens though. Hope this one will be solved soon as it seemed a great place for a cache.
Had a good hunt around, and found a likely hiding spot but no success in finding this one.
16:59 First to log in book, which I added to the cache. Easiest find of the day, will try and make it a bit better. Did my best to re-hide but does stand out. Well it lasted this long so maybe it will be fine. Great place for a walk.

Easy find. No logbook or disposable camera in cache. Stamp YuGeo4 logo onto a red sticker, as proof of visit. Unfortunately, didn’t have any replacement log sheets or logbook.

At home I always carry cache repair bits, but I wanted to avoid the excess baggage charges and so didn't bring them. I also didn't read the previous finders notes detailing the misfortune the cache had suffered. Made my log entry on a small sticker.
We took a lovely walk around the gardens, but unfortunately, when reaching ground zero, discovered the cache and most of its contents strewn about. Cleaned up best we could, and re-hid in the obvious spot but did not find the logbook nor the camera.
Thoroughly enjoyed the walk across the gardens area to this cache, easy find, especially given a couple of toys lying next to the cache site. One found after we had put all the cache back together again. What a mission. Outer bag of the two is already starting to collect some water.
Picked up TB Spider Girl to continue her journey.
Rewarded ourselves with an icecream after the find, on a lovely overcast but hot summer afternoon. T4TC

We are fairly local so popped up for an evening stroll. It is open until 8pm at the moment (summer-time). Found the cache fairly easily. Super walk and lots of changes since I have last visited. Well worth going on this for the environment alone.
- leather-style keyring
+ new eraser and orange sticker sheet.
TFTC.
PS: Is the leather-style keyring a TB? Please advise if it is thanks.

Visited this one years ago when it was first set up by the relatives here in NZ. We carried some TB's from the UK so decided it would be nice to go back and see how things have changed. My how the tree has grown.
Unarchived per owners request.
Owner, please review the page and enable the cache when you are ready.

Came into the park from the western side through the lovely bush tracks.
Unfortunately, upon finding the cache, it was spread all around GZ, with not a lot left. The log book was present, but I daren't open it as it was so wet. There was also a pack of cards, a red golf ball and a yellow rubber duck. The container has also been broken. I put everything back into the container, and placed into a plastic bag, and hid back under some wood.
Couldn't sign the log but left a soldier to help guard the cache until the owners can fix it.
Found this one in the wee hours of the morning. A bit of a walk and a fence jumped, we found it pretty easily. Noticed inside was damp, but everything intact. Ensured the bag was sealed, and the lid was on before treking back.
Used the hints and found the cache easily. Thanks. Unfortunately the white plastic bag has deteriorated and the lid was of the tub. As a result the tub was full of water. We did the best we could to dry everything out. TNLN
Park was not here last time I was in the area ( 25 years ago ) before moving to the other side of the world to live.
18 shots remaining on camera. 5 weddings on, on this lovely day. Easy find even without the photo. Took wand and jewels. Left dolphin keyring and green paper clip. TFTC.
Out on bike with XenaCommander. This is a beautiful site for the cache. Very popular day for people getting wed. Dad is certainly better than me at hunting the cache out, I'll have to get some practice in!
Out TB hunting today on Xena... with Daughter Dale riding pillion.
I am gathering TB's to take on south Island tour...
Recognised the clues thankful that I had taken some time on the web page looking at the pics... Clever..
Easy find.
Enjoyed sitting in park signing log.. although wasn't overly keen on "pink" pen.. Not a manly colour for commander..!!
Dale took pic of both of us.. Think there were 12 left!
Took travel bugs:
Cool Car TB... (Will find some cool cars to play with..)
Spud TB... Not sure I will get to a soccer game but will move him on.. Maybe drop him in south island city cache near a soccer field.

Nice walk. Easy find although we walked to far initialy and had to backtrack. I suppose a GPS would help. Nevermind we found it in the end. The tree has grown a little. Have taken a new photo of tree. Dropped off Spud Travel Bug and Trinket box with blue stones. Taken Juan TB and Garfield TB
Almost didn't try this one because we didn't have the photo. Glad we did though as we didn't need the pic. Nice quick find. Lovely walk on a lovely day in a lovely place. Hadn't been to the BG for ages and this was a nice addition to out visit.
Took nothing
Left three TBs. Cool Car, Garfield and Juan.
Thanks for the hunt.

Couldnt understand the clue but we found the cache using good old fashioned cachers logic. Took our pic and a bead kit and left a racing car.
Easy find despite co-ordinates putting us out on the open grass area. Might want to correct that. 24 photos now taken. Always enjoy visiting this area.
Yahoo! Number two for our first day searching for these things . A cool spot, well hidden!!
After arriving in Aucklnad late last night I had to get out and stretch my legs. This was a short ride on my foldup bicycle and after walking into the sodden park I quickly found the right place. Dropped of Mina so that she can continue her journeys down under.
All the time I've lived in Auckland, I'd never been out to the Gardens, so thank you. TNLNSL
What another fantastic sea of green so close to the big smoke. Enjoyed the wide open spaces..thanks for bringing me here msc1974. Up to Photo 28 on camera
12.30pm. Second time here looking for this one.
First time we came in from the not so used enterance in the van and the ellerslie flower show was on (don't ask me why they can still call it this when the shows in Manurewa[?]) anyway, spun a line to the security guard that we were delivering plants for the show. And he let us in the gate.
Lucky i have tinted window on the van and he didn't ask to have a look as it was empty.
Had a drive around to get the general location of the cache, but way, way ,way to many muggles that day.
Back again today and this time we used the regular entrance, and had a lovely walk through the gardens.
Had to hide from quite a few dog walking muggles even on an overcast day.
+ Laser Light Saber.
+ Puss in Boots fridge magnet.
- Christmas Kiwi.
- Teaspoon.
Took a photo, we think we used photo 30, so that's 29 to go[?] it's just a bit hard to read the small dots on the camera dial.

despite the freezing cold day we headed out for a date in the park. we explored a little and took lots of pictures. but to tell you the truth we were a bit disappointed. besides the cactii rock garden, the african garden, and the noise from the motorway there wasnt much going on. so we decided we will have to come back in spring, then summer. and then autumn!

found it with ease.... I remember visiting this place with my grand mother when I was about 8 maybe younger don't know what we were doing there but I remeber it.
Now this should be compulsory at every cache site, somewhere to sit. Bit confused at first, didnt have the compass with me, and the GPS one was lying, must have stopped for too long. Thought I would have problems with dog walkers, but had a very clear run at 0920.

Third cache today. Got there just before dark. Coordinates slightly off but clues help. Easy find. Full container. Heaps of muggles around. Thanks.
Went to get camera to develop film.
I was a little nerves handing a camera over to get it developed. Some good photos, and I'l be uploading them next week once I scan them.
After seeing that some of the photos didn't come out I have replaced the camera with one with a flash.

Never been to the gardens up here before - nice to have this sort of excuse to visit Got to GZ fairly quickly and given the name of the cache it was a cinch to find the cache. Interesting to note that some ARC staff had found the cache too and passed on best wishes. Took a photo, I think its down to 1 photo left now. No exchange made. Cheers Gav [412]
A place we know so well from when we lived in Papakura. Quick dash into area. Went straight to the cache without any difficulty. What a full and exciting cache. It was interesting to read the ARC groundmens comments. Took a photo but unsure as to whether it will come out
Thanks again. Let us assure you there was no need for you to apologise in advance .This was a great cache for your first one and anytime we are in Auckland we will be looking for more of your caches
Well done

Notes in the log book say that two fellows from ARC parks stumbled across it. Chris and Tony. They left some green stone and took photos. Thanks for playing and re-hiding it guys!
Took a bit of searching, which we thought was odd considering the logs, when it finally showed up we discovered that a couple of lads had found it and re-hidden it properly.

Our GPS took us right to a small bush in an open area...not sure what went wrong...we saw the cluster of trees nearby and suspected it was in there, but didn't have time to search any further because our plane was going to leave without us! I've included the picture of the "bush" we were led to!
Great to have enough open sky to walk straight to the pinpointed location according to the coordinates.
Silly me ...... I expected it to be right there ........
Had to head for the nearest cover as it was beginning to rain. Didn't need the clue.

Good place for the cache - not many of the hords down here. Original co-ords seem bang on - given that this is an offset cache. Came for the day with Mum and Martin. Martin steered and Mum found the cache. Took a photo - count is at 21. Added a flashing yoyo, took nothing.

i went in the "back" way about 600 metres (which should be OK after hours) and had to circle around somewhat as I was being watched by a digger driver. He seemed to be chasing me with the digger but in fact was driving back to headquartes to knock off for the day.
I was surprised by a couple of muggles as I steeped out into the sunlight to take a photo. I wonder what they thought I was doing?

Found it! Second time lucky. About 6:30pm. Parked at S37 00.331, E174 54.081, which is the closest place to park I think. My GPS pointed a distance away, so when I got home I checked out the orthophotos from LINZ' (Land Information New Zealand) website. They confirmed that it was some distance off. I have included the correct (according to the photos) locations, as the waypoint for this log.
For those that haven't seen the orthophotos, I have attached a piece of one of them - specifically, the piece that has the cache in it. The cache is not marked. The photos are available for free from LINZ' websites, and are aligned to NZ map grid. Each photo covers 20x15km (about 50mb each), and I am working on cutting them into convenient 10x10km chunks. If anyone wants the pre-cut chunks, please let me know. LINZ' website is www.linz.govt.nz

Willbuild must be on holiday? No 'first to find - again'?
Pleasant walking through the fields in the sunshine.
Don't know if I parked the suggested place, I just followed the GPS from "There was a park" geocache. They're about 900 metres apart.
Found the camera, but I'd dumped the family at the playgound, so you've got a silly picture of me holding the camera in one hand. Took a picture of the cache too (25 pictures remaining).
Thanks for the cache msc1974! Nil in/nil out.

Remind me not to go caching in the middle of the night again. It's allright for dwarves, they have night-vision (living in holes in the ground).
