Spent ages here to no avail. I had GZ amid the rocks. No luck there and beware of the tiger snake nearby. I heard it rustling around in the bushes, assumed it was a lizard, then I saw it, momentary panic! CO definitely needs to check this one.
1130 19/02 - Spent a fair bit of time looking around GZ but no luck today - Given the other DNF on this one I'm wondering if it is still there -
Tried hard, no succes.
Team Omam from the Netherlands has only one aunt left. And as she will have her 100th birthday early February, we decided to join the birthday party. But …., she lives in Sydney Australia! An excellent opportunity for us to explore this continent once again and find Geocaches along the way. We will do a 3.5 weeks trip! At places where we will stay for a few days (Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney and Darwin), we will organize Meet and Greet events. We will try to find mainly caches with high favorite points, caches from 2000 and 2001, earth caches, webcam caches, virtuals and letter box hybrids.

If this cache is where I think it is it needs to relocated. Could not venture due to presence of snakes and not small ones. Big black snakes. Those looking for this one please be super careful
Spent some time being pricked and scratched by a particularly vicious the blackberry vine. Sadly we didn't find it. We'll have another go next time we're passing.
Today I joined the Canberra Walking Group Meetup Lake George Ridge Walk as it seemed a perfect opportunity to grab the couple of caches not far off the Ridge Road. We started at the Arthur Gurney VC Memorial Rest Area at 0640, headed straight up the hill, then south to the Weereewa Lookout, and back again. Arriving back at 1240. About 28km all up, and 800m climb (& descent). Afterwards I cached my way back to Canberra, starting with this one. This one proved too elusive for me today.
We dreaded this search but Mr O had it in hand after about a minute's search. TFTC.
After finding the nearby multi, I headed to this one. My phone was bouncing around all over the place, so I put it in my pocket and ignored it for a while. I searched and searched, without luck. I checked the phone again, but it was still not behaving. What was that hint??? Really??? What does that mean???? No help to me. I then looked at photos and spotted something in one of them. I began to search for that. No luck. Just as I was about to give up, I spotted something I hadnt noticed before. Gotcha!!! I got gashed by thorny plants retrieving the cache. Good thing there was a first aid kit in the car. I signed the log and returned the cache to its hiding spot before heading back to the car to continue my journey.
#2245 (7 of 9 today)
Final day in the ACT, and so after finding three caches near the motel, we wended our way back home via the Deep Space Visitor Centre near Tidbinbilla (a must see).
Then picked up a puzzle I'd solved a bit back, and a few more on the highway.
And back home the Geokids hadn't burnt the house down - win all round!
END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION
Looking for a few rest area caches on the way back to Sydney I spotted a 2 Dogs hide.
Too good to pass up, really.
We stopped at the rest area and I made my way to GZ.
So many places to search, but when I finally found it I was only a few metres from where I had 0 on the iPhone.
Completed signing duties and added a few blank pages to keep the log going for a bit - unfortunately the empty book I had wouldn't fit.
Got back to The Family Chariot and the Geowife commented I'd taken so long she was about to send out a search party.

Coffee van in the rest area sells good coffee! The cache is a bit of fun. Both combined for an enjoyable break on the way to Orbost grabbing some caches along the way. Always enjoy the views of Lake George. TFTC
On the way to Canberra today and of course its caching time! A great series. Pulled in with the caravan and took us around 10 minutes to finally locate the hide. So many possibilities. TN Left a small peg. TFTC The 2 Dogs.
Sorry I found this one a little while ago and forgot to log it so now I'm having to play catch up with all my logs. TFTC Found with Scruffyblake, The S's and Me_To
Found on our return trip to the Gong after a busy weekend renovating. Walked up and down before trying a different tack for a welcome find. Still don't get the hint but it didn't matter. TFTC The 2 Dogs.
Too many muggles for a proper search, I'll come back another time to try again.
Geo-dad was the one to look for this while the rest of the fam looked on in the freezing conditions.
Thanks for the hide.
The hint did not help at all!

This cache has been my nemesis since I began caching 7 years ago.
Today I stopped by to see if I could finally tick it off the list and low a behold I had it in barely no time at all. I must have stopped here at least 4 times previously with no luck and reading back on the logs it appears that the hide may well have changed since my last visit several years ago.
Great to add this one to my found tally.
Thanks to The 2 Dogs for the cache.

After 11 years, I expected a geoHighway straight up to the cache, but given the nature of the terrain, it wasn't to be. Was looking a few metres off for quite a while, before moving to a more favourable angle.
Catching up with some very late logs.
Heading home from the Queensland Mega with The Coffee's we were grabbing a few caches along the way.
Well today it was dry fact there were people driving on it.
The cache was found quickly and our names were added to the log.

Found it with Team FIN [kapeka & laalaa]
We had fun with caching few weeks here in Australia ( Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and Australian Capital Territory ). Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and huge country!

A quick stop, after dark, on my way from Sydney to Canberra as part of my Stanthorpe MEGA trip.
Heading back from Nowra to Canberra via the scenic route, we decided to stop and take in a few caches.
Not entirely sure about this one (clue or "unknown" size) but still found it.
Thanks for the cache T2D.

On the road to Canberra to visit relatives. What an interesting rest area - no water in Lake George today! In Canada we don't have sidewalks painted with Snake signs, so we were cautious about going onto the rocks. In fact only J. ventured off the path and was pleased to make the find. SL TFTC The 2 Dogs - we appreciate having caches along the highways!

TFTC. A bit nervous looking for cache when there were snake warning signs. This was a new challenge for team maroon but we found the cache, signed it and raced for the geovehicle!
Coming home from the annual 'Santa Run" after visiting the kids and grandies. As per usual we needed to do a few caches, although some of them are rather familiar. This one in particular. Let's try it one more time said Mr GN!!!! Lo and behold we found it!!!! Just so glad to take this off our list

10th find today on trip with coybear2000. Be wary of blackberries. Might be nice to pick some in a month or so. TFTC
Again, thanks for this series put together by different people. It is a beautiful area and great to read about the individuals you gave everything for us.
Found it with snoopy1976 and meet some caches at the cache. The other caches are going to the same event
Having a quick look whilst Geodad was working out the co ords for the nearby multi, & was pleasantly surprised to meet up with Snoopy1976 & Casper73, who made the find. So nice to meet other cachers in the field . Tftc xo
Found this on the way home with Geo Snag. Loved the look out to the wind farm.TFTC
Found the original cache, with the log book dating back to 2004. Signed and replaced, with only a few blackberry scratches for my efforts. TFTC
#15for the day. Heading into canberra for a weekend of caching. Thankyou The 2 Dogs
Reasonably quick find with 'sesblocker'. Made like a mountain goat and soon had CIH. TFTC
We deemed this one too injurious to our well being to tackle unfortunately, all the rest along here have been great
