Might be time to archive this?

we could not find it either...but nice beach and dunes and a lot of shells!

02-Sep-06
Armed with a Shovel and our own SAR (Search and Re-hide) Dog Sienna, we chose to ignore all the long ago comments of non finds and have a crack.

Alas, despite moving an admirable amount of sand, no cache to be found. I'm guessing if the owners have looked and not found it, other cachers will be hardpressed.

Nice spot though, good luck with recovering the cache.

Cache has been buried. We're offering a $50 reward for anyone who recovers it and emails us once it's removed. We want to re-site it on the beach and it's important to us that we recover it... Sentimental value!

STRIKE THREE!!! Found the spot, dug around for nearly an hour...cache is MIA (burried or otherwise). It was a miserable, rainy, cold, windy day so I didn't even get to enjoy the beach : (

Nice walk on the beach on a beautiful sunny day. We did not find the cache, there is so much sand! Maybe it is buried?

28-Jan-06
Went down to the beach with Geekpulp and had a good look around but couldn't find the cache. Maybe it's buried in the sand??

Was a nice trip anyway - pretty sunset and good fish'n'chips.

Great spot, interesting dunes, nice walk relaxing fun. Was windy 20+kts, onshore, should of had a blokart :~)
There were a number of muggles about for a soso day.

Found it on a blustery Saturday afternoon after visiting the De Molen windmill in Foxton. Was amazed at the amount of vehicle traffic on the beach. Easy find (not to many places to hide caches). Took Mrs Pengie to help her on her quest and left Tan Fan to work on hers (when the weather improves). Thanks for the cache.

We didnt approach this as you had advised but went sort of straight across the dunes, which are awesome. And found it (Mrs Buzz) without the clue. Nice spot. We did a TB swap.

Cool, blustery westerly blowwing, high tide.
Walked up beach to the cache location . Took 3 or 4 mins to find it.
TNLNSL.

Nice walk - thanks.

The tide was well out so there were a few cars on the beach today. We elected to walk from the surf club which was quite pleasant. TNLN. Greg and Bev

Heaps of muggles at the beach as it was Easter Monday. No one in the vicinity of the cache though. The speed signs are still up and look very incongruous on the narrow beach when the tide is coming in! The valley of shells was amazing. Found the cache fairly easily, well stashed and in good order.

Thanks for the cache, was lovely to visit Foxton Beach at last and got some great photos.

Found this one as we were passing by. We hadn't looked at the clue sheet so we hoped we'd manage it with the GPSr only, and we did - yay!
We took the back way in, over the dunes, and afterwards we headed over to the water.
Thanks very much.

*ADVISORY*: Several days after we visited this site, we have been advised that the Regional Council has removed the speed limit signs from this beach, so this may impact how people find this cache, as the clue refers to one of the signs.

Found OK, "valley of Shells", was a treasure hidden in the dunes. But go over the dunes to the right and find another!
Nice walk along the beach. A lot of wood all along the coast from the manawatu river outlet from the floods in mid 2004!

+ CD
- Air force stickers, wild flower seeds.

A refreshing early morning walk along an empty beach. There was no wind and the sun was just beginning to shine down on a flat sea. A great way to start the day.

Cache in good condition and even as a first timer at this it wasn't to hard to find.
Had my daughter for the w/end and went down to the beach to check on the caravan. Had the GPS for a week and found this site by accident but love the idea.
As requested by last person a pen has been left, as well as a round silver metal token used to access the complex that i manage.

We were here on holiday from Adelaide Australia. We travelled down from Palmeston north with our friend who lives here. Just after a storm and the beach was full of dead sheep and cows that had been washed down from the rivers after the big floods. Found in no time. Thanks for bringing us to this place. Took a pen and left a little white teddy bear.

[found the valley of shells] - not sure if we found the right trees though - standing in middle of valley facing seawards went up steep dune to right - searched around trees there - still couldn't find the cache - [never mind - a good stop on our way home from taupo]

My first cache back in the North Island, after doing our own South Island Adventure, so the place seems appropriate.

While I was away, an eagle landed at my doorstep to be reach it's destination of soaring in the mountains of "Lord of the Rings". This beauty arrived from Maine in the US and his name is "Gwaihir the Windlord".
Please help him reach his destination.

+ TB "Gwaihir the Windlord"

This would have to be the flatest 4x4 trip I've done in a while!!

#56. A wonderful walk along the wild and windy coastline. The beach still littered with onions and other debris from all the storms. The cache was nearly buried in the sand but all was well inside. Took the smiley face and left a kiwi mechanic.
