One of two finds at Kanangra Walls. Supervising youngest teenager on L-plate country driving practice all day. Nice stroll towards the plateau, TFTC
It's been nearly 20 years since Dan has been to Kanangra Walls. In his younger days he had bushwalked from here and also completed some canyon trips, including Kanangra Main with both of our boys. What a great trip that was except that we ended up sleeping in the canyon when we took too long and ran out of daylight. Today, he finally took Sue out to this great scenic location. This cache is placed very nicely with great views from GZ. After SL we sat there for awhile just enjoying the view of the steep slopes, the cliff walls, the changing shades of blue in the distant mountains. Fantastic.Thank you The Rats for placing a cache in such a nice location.
While doing the Plateau Walk we noticed that we had internet for the first time in a week. We checked the chaches in the area and the kids were excited to see this one back near the car. However, by the time we reached Maxwell top and returned everyone was ready to head back to camp for a swim. We came back and found this cache early the next day before packing up the tent. TFTC in this great location.
Took the mini bean out after 7 days iso and decided at a last minute to explore Kanangara...was void of swaps so I added a stack for kidlets..tftc
We had a few days camping at Boyd River Campground. MrT had loaded a couple of caches in to his GPS before we left home. As he headed off on a 3 hour walk, this was his first stop. I walked this far with him, and we discovered the container had melted one side and the lid, in the last fires here, that had done so much damage to the area. We replaced the container with permission from the CO and brought the ruined container out with us. Thankfully the log books had been spared any damage, so put in new glad bag and pen and one of our pathtags for the next cacher to find.
Great location and amazing views. A fav point from us. TFTC

After visiting the Jenolan Caves for a cave tour in the morning, we were heading back to our camp at Dingo Dell. However, we still had a lot of time in the day and I opted to come out to the Walls to have a look this afternoon, rather than rush things the next morning, what with packing up camp and all that.
Very impressive views of these canyons out this way, and an interesting view back towards Katoomba, rather than the usual view from there in this direction. It helped get my bearings in this area.
After looking at the Dance Floor Cave we came back up onto the plateau and I made a quick detour to find this cache. Nice to see a container of decent size that's been out here quite some time. My fellow travelers on this trip didn't want to venture into the slightly prickly bush, so they waited on the path until I had made the find.
All was good with the cache. I added my name to the log sheet and then returned everything as found. Before long we were making our way back to the car park so that we could return to camp down that stretch of 4x4 track.

5 glorious days in the bush alone. Bliss.
Day 1 drove to the Walls and checked out the view and collected info for the Geocache and took the short walk to the falls. Headed down to Dance Floor Cave, picking up Wall to Wall Views on the return trip. An easy find with good coordinates. Camped O/N at Boyd River Campground.
Day 2 headed off for the walk to Orange Bluff picking up No Word of Farewell on the way in.
Day 3 saw me tackle Riven Deeping. I had decided to stay a second night at Orange Bluff so had plenty of time to explore and relax. After lunch I had a swim in the large pool at the bottom of the spur and soaked up some sun.
Day 4 was the climb back out and a DNF at Coal Seam Cave. Another night at Boyd River rounded out the adventure before reluctantly driving back to Sydney on Day 5.

On a week long trip to see & experience as much of the Blue Mountains as possible. We haven’t done much caching this trip, but after doing the walls lookout & the falls, we figured we’d look for this cache, but not do the whole plateau walk, while there were no muggles around. TFTC
An unplanned side trip from Jenolan allowed us to grab this one. Stunning views.

Wow today it was very cold with a strong wind – at the head of national park there was snow / ice on the side of track & tree logs. So only completed this 1 today & will return to do other caches here. This cache is tops, a cache with a view – thanks TFTC / TFTH / SL
A view with a geocache or a geocache with a view? I guess the first one as I originally came for the view.
After a beautiful weekend away at Jenolan Caves for the weekend to celebrate 1 year anniversary with the geogirlfriend we decided to go for a drive to Kanangra boyd National park and found the most spectacular view I have ever since. This was the perfect spot to drop a trackable geocoin. Highly recommend
TFTC! stunning views and literally takes your breath away once you're at the plateau!
Found 24/6/18. Cache #97. Found with Brentus.
After hiking down to Orange Bluff with packs that were too heavy and spending a few days camping there, this was a welcome cache to finish off with. Dumped packs back at the car and walked back to find this cache and soak up the wall to wall views as the sun was setting. What an amazing place.

Have visited here before but not had the gear or time to grab this one. Wonderful part of the world! TFTC
Visited this area but forgot to double check this was loaded in the gps. So I will return later this year hopefully.
Beautiful day in a beautiful spot! Great hiding place too, not too dangerous for junior to look.TFTC
Found whilst on the 2017 #gnomehome adventure around the Australian continent. thanks for the cache and thanks for bringing us here.
Find number 11 along a 9 day hike through the Bluies. Passing through Lithgow, Hartley, the Engineers Track, Grose Valley/Blue Gum Forest, Lockley's Pylon, Katoomba, Kanagra, Jenolan Caves and then back along the Six Foot Track, all up a few K's on the shoes!
This was the end of this leg of the journey! After finishing the walk, I reclined in the cool waters of the waterfall nearby and refilled water bag. Here i spent a couple of quiet hours just resting up. Deciding it was time to move on, I dumped the bag and went to go grab the cache. A little strange that its so far off the track in an NP, but a great spot for the hide. TFTC!!!

Sorry my c:geo has played up and not uploaded field notes for the last few months. So adding in these caches now. Ty to all the cache owners. It is always fun to find new caches.
Liked this one. Great area for a cache. Satisfying to find an old cache. Great views, bit cold late in afternoon. Cache all good. Fav point.Tftc
Came out to do some scouting for a future towers expedition and of course couldn't resist picking this one up. Grabbed the tb. Thanks rats!
Spent an amazing birthday weekend out in the jenolan and kanagra boyd area. Absolutely stunning views. Dropped off travelbug
Out on a drive today, visiting Jenolan Caves then lunch on Kanangra NP. What great views, while the muggler friends went back to get the picnic ready, Wazza9 and I went off to find this cache, signed the log, took a TB to move on. Thank you the Rats.
Tftc,
Went for a drive today with muggler friends from Mount Victoria.
Made this location our lunch stop and while it was being prepared, we went in search of this cache.
Visited a group of trackables and took one to move on.

What an awesome place for a cache. Its a shame that national parks won't allow more caches in the parks.
Had been to a concert at Jenolan caves and then drove out here in very thick fog. Slept in the car in the carpark overnight. went for a few walks, while waiting for the fog to lift. This was my last thing to do before I left and luckily caught glimpses of the fog lifting, so stayed for another 3 hours just enjoying the view and that sort of stuff.
Obviously this is a favourite as its one of the best caches I have done. Loved it.

caching with Ratdog12 and Bliss Baby today we went to check out a few caves and tours then on to here for Lunch. we came to the cache and had to back track to get it. missed it as we strolled past. We made the cache pretty easy while looking at a nearby possible hide. No TB was sited and BB left a new logbook as the old one was full up.
Nice area.

After a mid morning cave tour at Jenolan Caves it was time for lunch and all of us prefer a nat park picnic to an urban one. pity we forgot to buy the breadrolls before we left Blackheath this morning and didn't realise till way too late. guess its meat and salad for lunch instead of sandwiches today. Very hot but what a beautiful place this is. Wow to the views, the valley looks amazing let alone the sandstone walls but the bushwalk to the falls will have to wait for a cooler day. thanks for placing this cache in such a beautiful place.
out with Bliss Baby and Rainforest Cookie to visit Janolan Caves, Kanangra Walls and Oberon, we dropped in here to find a cache.

Made the trek early on a Sunday morning and was welcomed to some amazing views across the valley. Nearly forgot to do this cache while being distracted by the views.

What a great find!! The female geocacher found this, much to our dismay (jealousy)!! Great hide !!
I was spending Friday afternoon exploring the area before joining up with a group for a walk to Cloudmaker and Gingra Range for the weekend.
Great spot with awesome views. There was a lyrebird calling from the lookout and you could hear it all the way as I walked to GZ.
Thanks The Rats. The cache is in good shape. Found at 4:34 pm.

Easy find. I just love this place. I first came here in 1953 aged 10 Dad took me down to the Kowmung via what is now the uni rover track. We had no bushwalking gear just rolled a swag with some tinned tucker and a billy. Brought my first bushwalking gear in 1960 and started to get serious and of course this was my heaven. Still is but can no longer walk more than about 4k. So had a wonderful day here today and this cache was an added incentive to come back. Thank you.
We spent a great day here yesterday. Enjoyed the waterfall and plateau walks. Nice to find a big cache out here. Tftc.
Dropped a group of Venturers out here this morning on the start of their Queen Scout Expedition.
This place just takes your breath away! And on a perfect Spring day it was just magnificent!!!
Made a quick find.

PS - If anyone finds a set of prescription sun-glasses in the bush nearby, please let me know as I lost a pair:(

Fabulous spot for a cache! We had come out here for the earth cache & were happy to find a traditional close to one of the waypoints.
Cache was quickly found, then we settled back to admire the views.

Canary wanted to do the Earthcache here, so naturally we wanted to do this cache, too, especially since it is fairly close to one of the waypoints for the Earthcache.
It's been many years since I have been out to the walls. I've twice walked to Katoomba from the walls via Cloudmaker and Strongleg. Canary looked across to the mountains, contemplating a long multi that has a waypoint on Cloudmaker. I looked across the deep, remembering the walk which took most of a day just to get to that point with Canary enthusiastically suggesting a trek in the future.
We found the cache quickly and were left to admire the views and puzzle over Mr Darcy's question, for which we had no printout or easily readable information. Overall, this provided a suitable endpoint for a great day out. Thanks, Rats.

After a day of 4wding and caching this was to be our last cache. With the sun fading and the temperature falling even more i quickly made the find, logged, and went out to have a look at the spectacular view. TFTC!
Did this cache with "socks" as a muggle back in 2008 were she introduced me to the game of geocaching. So after nearly 1700 caches I finally come back with a username and put ink to paper. Thanks rats for placing this cache in beautiful part of the world.

Went looking, until geogirl shreiked. On investigation she pointed to the largest coiled brown snake I have seen, immediatly where her foot was to go. Oh well, we may get back this way one day. Great spot, great walk, great views...great snake.
Reperio at 1750.
This was the second time I have been out to Kanangra Walls, but unlike the previous visit where the entire area was blanketed in fog, the view of the walls and spires was crystal clear, and looked amazing in the fading light. A short walk back along the trail soon had me at GZ, and the cache found. An amazing part of the Blue Mountains.

After camping nearby at Boyd River we headed to Kanangra Walls and had planned on spending a few hours walking around the place. However, the weather turned and this ended up being the only cache we found but it gives us a good excuse to return, and it's a great camping spot too. Left a geocoin.

After doing some caves in the morning we came to check out the walls. We went up to the look out as part of the earth cache circuit and had a look at The Stoney Towers ( might need to prepare a little more for that one and looks as steep as some of the NZ T5 ones we have done). After a Lyre Bird pair spotting (our second for the day) just before Dance Cave we picked this one up on the way back. We followed a part geo trail and was soon at GZ. A quick search as the kids looked behind then to make the find. The cache is good and we soon finished the signing duties before re hiding. We saw a nice grey wallaby at the car park which the kids got close to before leaving. TFTC.

What i nice view! I have been around this area a few times but never out to the walls. Definatly worth the side trip!
I went out to Kanangra with the SBW "k2k in a day" crew. After seeing the party get off safely, i joined an expedition to follow the cliff from dance hill cave around the Southern tip of Seymour top, to ascend via a slot near what I assume was first ascent creek. In any case we found a plaque commemorating an ascent in 1864. Once we had returned to the carpark I ducked back down the track to make an easy find with a beautiful vista. Thanks The Rats.

Quick find after visiting the lookout. Awesome view across the valleys. No sign of TB though. tftc.
We were out doing a club 4wd trip, and stayed here long enough for me to zip out to this cache asn find it.
Not a hard find, and all was fine with it.
I also tried to do the earthcache, but missed a WP, so will have to return here some other time.

Spending some time at Jenolan on the way west and felt the draw of the Walls. Last time I was here I had a helicopter ride up from the deeps with a broken leg. No mishaps this time however and found the cache with little drama. Took TB and left my own TB on its first stop in an attempt to visit as many caving regions as possible.

We were always going to stop for this cache as we were following the Plateau walking track to get to our objective, we probably spent longer looking for this one than we should, but the cache was soon found.
Lovely location and great views of the plateau that was next for us. The log was signed and the cache returned to it's nice hidey hole.

Found with rogerw3 while on a trig hunting expedition in the area.
rogerw3 had a pretty good idea where the cache was located, and grabbed it while I was still trying to make sense of my Oregon 300 -- double checking it against my smartphone app some 20 metres distant.
All was in good order. Took the colourful 'Boomerang' TB for transport to Leura. LNSL.
GZ was the start of our magnificent views, which got better and better and we set off along the trails.
Hard to beat Kanangra Walls! A highly recommended area!
