This was a nice adventure in my new car, it handled the dirt track well and I was pleased to find the loos at GZ as I had been travelling for several hours. They were a bit stinky though being pit toilets. The campsite area is wonderful and the fire pits look amazing. Went to look out at the beach after finding the cache and then saw this little wallaby on my way out. He seemed a bit tame but cleared off the track as I got closer. I came in to get this cache because it was placed in 2003. Always good to check off an oldie TFTC

We headed down to Aragunna for a swim as it was stinking hot and windy. Got a lifer butterfly near the beach and could hear the whales talking when you stuck your head under water (my goodness it was cold). Hadnt even thought there would be a cache here so wasnt until I started walking to Mimosa Rocks that I looked. Back near the car I walked up the hill and quickly found the cache - a bit fruity here as the wind had swung from the south.TFTC djcache

Nowadays, there is a trend among nobles and other rich people to keep swamp dragons as pets. There are breeders' associations, many breeders being rich enthusiasts rather than commercial mass-producers. There are competitions and judging.

CaptainVimes and I are on a driving holiday from Melbourne to Canberra this week. What a beautiful spot. A young couple had the place to themselves until we arrived. Oops. Thanks for the fun djcache

Found by Facitman and Mrs Facit at 12:55
Enjoyed a great walk through this section of the coast. While a couple of trees were down across the track as we drove in and it was very wet underfoot, we were able to find enough dry track to enjoy the bush and beach. After enjoying a packed lunch I noticed that there was a cache nearby and very happy to see it had been here for so many years. The find was quick, being the only humans within kilometres, so we logged our visit and grabbed the Travel Bug.
Thanks djcache

Day 6 of my Bermagui fishing trip. Rain and wind all day today, certainly no good for fishing. So i threw on my raincoat and decided to head south towards Tathra and complete some more of the SST series. Only made it half way due to flooding.

I remember looking at this one a few weeks ago at home and could see it had a few DNFs, luckily when I looked this morning I noticed it had been replaced by some fellow cachers (Thankyou!) A nice place to visit even in the heavy rain. Only a few campers here at the moment. Log signed and TB dropped.

Awesome to be able to find this old cache.

Tftc!

05-Oct-22
If anyone is up for adopting this old cache who’s local it’s available. Otherwise it’ll be archived. I no longer travel up the coast as frequently as I used to. Dave

Thanks to the Miracle cache maintenance team . See their log. Adoption offer in separate note.

04-Oct-22
We’re camping here for a few days and fortunately checked this cache’s page prior to leaving home. Lo and behold, it was logged as needing maintenance just yesterday. Already having found it a year or so back, we knew right where to find it to fix it up. It seems like the nature of the cache’s location has created a bit of a well around it, meaning it likely ends up swimming in muddy water whenever it rains. We have replaced the entire cache (broken container, saturated log) and while we did not change its location, the CO might want to think about it, so that the same thing doesn’t happen again.

03-Oct-22
This is a lovely camping spot but the cache is in a terrible state - completely drowned. I poured the water out, signed a sodden logbook - see photo- and turned the container upside down in an effort to preserve it - forlorn I expect. Can the next person resurrect it? (We are on a hiking trip and not able to do this, sorry)

03-Oct-22
The container lid is broken and the cache full of water. Log is virtually unusable

08-May-22

Found at 2:30:00 PM

I tried to find this cache a few years ago and despite only having a dog in the car and having no intention of letting it out, we got busted by a ranger on the way in who gave us a severe talking to. No dogs today, but also no rangers. So we must have been unlucky before. It took a little while to find this until I spotted some suspiciously parallel sticks. Nice to tick off a very old hide.

Thanks djcache

So great to come grab an oldie. A massive scour of the broad area by all the troupes and finally found the find. Well done team. Thanks for the cache

Spending a glorious weekend down the Sappire Coast as part of the Canberra Invasion. Whilst the invasion meant the chance to catch up with many cachers at events and at different spots (and a delightful excuse to celebrate Lovetherabbitohs 18th birthday), I spent most of the weekend on the hunt with the CGI crew: Fitzy_1965, DarzeeDi, Minniek , K8TYBEE , GLISS!, GSC2000 Lovetherabbitohs, B0tmun, death_killer & my_name_jeff_1. Thanks so much for keeping all the caches alive and making this weekend a possibility! Tftc

One of many many caches found during our SST caching invasion - thank you !

09-Jun-19
Headed to Wallaga Lake for a bit of an invasion by people from Canberra & Goulburn. A group of us convoyed for most of the long weekend. The group known as CGI (Canberra Goulburn Invasion) consisted of fitzy_1965, darzee di, nibletricecakes, k8tybee, GLISS!, GSC2000 and my geokids Lovetherabbitohs, b0tmun, death_killer & my_name_jeff_1.

Day 2 saw us head towards Tathra with all caches along the way in our sights, most of which was the SST series. All caches were quickly found. We certainly loved the variety.

Log was a bit damp here.

09-Jun-19
Sorry for the generic log, some with an added comment - this weekend a few of us from Canberra and Goulburn decided to travel down to Bermagui and do the SST series and some of the other traditionals, camping at Wallaga Lake Big4.
Today was day 2 of our adventure and once again the weather was glorious a little warmer than yesterday, loved the company, lots of laughs and stories making a great day. This one took a while to find and well done Fitzy_1965 for coming up with the goods. We signed logs as team CGI (canberra Goulburn invasion) and we all enjoyed ourselves, we all had a great day and all said how much a fantastic series it was. Tftc djcache

09-Jun-19
With Tankengine we made our way down to this part of the coast, there would be many other canberra cachers out and about in the area as well and on this day two we often cached with many of them. This was an area I have been wanting to come visit for such a long time for the trail of caches and were so lucky to have fabulous weather and such good company for the three days.

The caches are very different and interesting with a mixture of hide types, styles and difficulty to keep things interesting. I just loved this area with all the lakes, inlets and waterways, the coast... spectacular. A beautiful place to visit.

Day two and this cache: Having met up with two other cars full of cachers earlier we continued on wards together for these caches. A nice side trip along the track down towards this cache, a nice old cache but could do with a new container and some TLC. Still a nice spot, thanks for the cache.

The long weekend had arrived and off I go as part of the Canberra geocachers invasion for the SST series and any others along the way! A great weekend of camping, caching and socialising with a great bunch of people! Cool

Yes I dood it...eventually! I went round and round and round trying to find this one! The circle of rocks was a lot smaller than I was expecting and the natural camo on top made this one very well concealed! A little damp inside due to a crack in the container. Great to have this old one found!

Thanks for the hide, djcache Cool

Cache 5168 on 9 Jun 2019.

This was a long awaited and planned geocaching mission to the south coast with a few other Canberra cachers. Bobl27, TikvaNZ and I drove down Saturday morning and picked up a few caches on the way to the main goal which was the SST. We picked up 19 caches Saturday getting warmed up for the main day today, Sunday. And such pretty views from so many cache spots.

This cache: cache not in good condition, a bit soggy. But what a lovely spot to bring us to!

Thanks djcache for the cache and the fun!

This was our last cache to search for today after having chosen our campsite ️ for the night. We arrived at Ground Zero and began our search, then widened our search and suddenly there it was! Great to see the original log book still in place! We signed the newer log book and then replaced as found, but not before retrieving the FletcherM Travel Bug. Thanks so much for the cache and for having bought us to this great location. Now off to enjoy the nice walk as suggested by the CO before sunset! Greetings from Zimbabwe

After a wonderful lunch at a nearby restaurant, we came to visit the beach in the rain.
It took a little searching for this one. Perhaps the cloud cover had our gps confused. In the end all good, and we signed the log with Hogwarts85 and Kohoutkids.

Finally found this cache after a big search. The GPS was messing up. At one minute it was saying we were six metres away, the next, only one. The hint is a bit vague seeing as basically all the trees in the area are overhanging. Definitely come and visit this beautiful area. TFTC!

After returning from travel a week ago I find my feet still itchy, so here I am driving, caching 3 hours or so from home. Actually a daytime drive turned into a weekend

It took a good 15 min for my GPS to settle and even then it was dodgy. I was actually looking for a much more defined version of the clue. Certainly ring or large and overhanging were curious given the surroundings. Still I originally overshot this turn off and had to retrace steps so there was no way I wasn't going to find it.

Happily Cache found in good condition if not slightly damp. Beach is lovely and private.

No luck today

Over from nz travelling from Sydney to Melbourne.
Managed to get the campervan down the road which was easier than finding the cache , had 3 attempts at it one before and after going to the beach then one last attempt as everyone was packing up . phone kept freezing on me and the hint was a bit generic given the surroundings finally spotted it as i was heading back to the van as i had given up didn't fit the hint but I will take the find . at least a dozen cars parked up but the beach was big enough for everyone.
Amazing place and deserves a fav tftc

We missed the turn first time past & had to go back. Glad we did. What a wonderful place. Could not believe our eyes as to how good the facilities were. There were quite a few people camping there. We found the cache but there was quite a bit of moisture in it. We dried everything out & replaced the items inside the plastic bag after signing the log. Thanks for bringing us here. Another favourite. Kutgw

I spent the weekend camping at Aragunnu and sought out this geocache while I was there. The camping was superb, the swim at Aragunnu beach bracing and the hard bushwalk north from Mimosa Rocks offered stunning coastal scenery. This cache was a straightforward find as it was sitting in the open; I left it well covered. This cache was my 1000th cache! It could not have been in a more attractive spot! Thank you djcache for installing and maintaining this cache.

First visit to Australia, visiting our oldest daughter who lives in St Ives, Sydney. What a wonderful country! We are having the most beautiful weather. Reminds us of South Africa, our homeland.

Thanks for the adventure and the totally creative epically setup well organised.

Cache needs mantenance.

Due to poor mobile reception we had to log most caches afterwards which involves some administration.

Araganuu has to be one of my fav places on earth. I could quite happily live here for the rest of my days....

Anyway I happened to have to see a man about a dog when it hit me the cache name and the location.
It was dark and a storm was about to set in. Was about to give up when I looked up and turned around and I got a glimpse of the cache.

Log signed but no trackable

#4423 - 09:55; Day two of the Sapphire Coast run with fitzy_1965 and mtrax to give the SST and BFH series a run was off to an early start. After spending the night in Bermagui, we collected the local multi before getting back onto the SST trail and heading south towards Tathra. After the experience we gathered along the trail yesterday, we were well prepared for the day ahead. This one took us on a bit of a detour along an interesting track. We had taken the wrong road to start with, but back tracked to the right one and made our way in. We were determined that we were gunnado this cache and once at GZ traversed various obstacles to make the find. TFTC djcache Smile
