My wife and I are in town from Cleveland, Ohio for our vacation "Trip of a Lifetime" for the next 3 weeks and of course we are going to be doing some geocaching while we're here. Our daughter moved to Christchurch 8 years ago and loves it here. So she has been our tour guide since we've gotten here and so far we have been treated to tons of spectacular sights and fun things to do. This country is amazingly beautiful! I have been looking for a cache that would be the perfect choice for my 5 thousandth cache and this is the one I chose. Our daughter is the one who told me about geocaching 13 years ago and we were together when we found our very first cache. So it was only fitting to share this moment with her. And I think this cache the perfect choice for a milestone cache! Picture is posted and my daughter is holding her phone which is what we used to find the cache. And I'm on my way to the second 5K.Favorite point on the way!
Visited Christchurch with bektheraccoon, had to get the webcam while we were here. CO was in his office and took the photo before we were ready Thanks for the rare cache type!
Many thanks to the CO for capturing a manual pic of us and coming out for a chat! Caught on the UC webcam with rumpuslabs TFTC

A few weeks ago I was curiously looking up webcam caches to see if I could get one, and in stroke of luck I already had a Christchurch trip planned! This will most likely be the only one I ever get with how rare they are, so Im happy to get it.
Huh, that was quite a run But at least we are on the picture now. Thanks for keeping this thing alive!
This proved to be really easy to do and more fun than I thought it would be. I only had to wait about 3 minutes. Thank you for maintaining this rare cache, much appreciated.
I flew into Christchurch this afternoon for a 3-week bucket list road trip around South Island, and this cache was the first place I headed after picking up my rental car. It's not my first smiley of the trip, though ... I grabbed the virtual at the airport while I waited for the rental car shuttle to pick me up.I managed to find a parking spot, presumably one I wasn't entitled to use, quite close to GZ and as luck would have it, I saw that the webcam had taken its last shot 13 minutes before my arrival ... so I didn't have long to wait for it to record my visit to UC IC.Thanks for creating this webcam cache and for keeping it running for over 20 years now ... you're a real Kiwi legend, mate! Very worthy recipient of a fave point from me.
17. november 2024 12.51# 4919First time in New Zealand and obviously we should try to find some cachesAnd even better: the chance to log one of these very rare webcam caches ??I think we would have driven quite a few kilometers - and then we only had to take the bus ??Thank you for creating this and keeping it activeGeogreetings from viridis / Peter & Charlotte TFTC ??
Hello KiwiLegend,Another day, another Cache.Together with Dr Donna travelling through New Zealand. We arrived at Auckland Airport and made our way up north. After visiting Cape Reinga we went on our way South to reach Stewart Island with stops in many different Citys all over the country. Of course we have an open eye for nice Caches but take what we can get. ??Today we came across your Cache and are now happy we managed to get another icon here in New Zealand. Thank you very much for keeping this one up for Such a long time... MummyPenny and I arrived here late this afternoon and made a beeline for this rare opportunity. A couple of staff asked if they could help but soon understood. We waited for almost 15 minutes before appearing in the frame. Thanks KiwiLegend.
We found our way to this one after being queried by two uni chaps, both of whom were happy with the geocache explanation. Thanks KiwiLegend for the innovation.A fav from me
Another stop on our tour - Christchurch. After the terrible damage from the earthquakes, which can still be seen on some buildings, the city is beautiful. It is simply beautiful along the Avon River. Lots of leisure activities, great sculptures and restaurants. With the weather being great, we are going to cycle today to explore the surrounding parks. We are also collecting labs and their bonuses along the Avon to New Brighton. We didn't manage to do all of them, but we had a wonderful day. What for a great think- the once Webcame in New Zealand.Hurra - we give an Favo!!!A big thank you to the owners and greetings from the Moorhelmi from Germany
Found this one with TTO1 and TTO2 today. TTO1 and I are touring New Zealand with TTO2 for a couple of weeks and our travels brought us by this cache. So, we just had to stop and find it - especially since it's a webcam. The lighting for the picture wasn't the greatest, but it clearly shows the 3 of us. I've attached a copy to this log for the group. Favorite Point from me.Were really enjoying our visit and have been exploring lots of cool spots. Im sure that we will still have a lot that we didnt get to see on this trip, so I look forward to coming back again some time to see some more of this beautiful country. Thanks for the fun!
We turned up on one side of the campass then looked on the map and followed the road. Unfortunately when we got as close as possible the road was closed so around the other side we went. I quickish walk through the campass I came to the camera but I then realized I didnt have internet because of being from aus so I had to go back and grab my mate friends and back I walked to camera. Because of that when I got back I missed the camera so I stood and waited while on my phone refreshing for the 15 mins. good fun though thanks for place the webcam.
Also nichts wie hin. Of course I want to visit it during my vacation. A visit to Christchurch is on the agenda anyway. So let's go there. Unfortunately, I hadn't looked at the listing in advance and of course arrived at my destination exactly one minute after the webcam had taken its picture. So I spent 15 minutes with my cell phone before I got my picture. Many thanks to KiwiLegend for maintaining this webcacm. Webcam caches are a dying breed.
A cool, blustery afternoon when we arrived in Christchurch. My timing wasn't good as I managed to arrive a couple of minutes after the previous image had been taken. However getting a rare webcam cache is worth hanging around for. Required photo attached. TFTWCTrainSPLOTer**** I will update the log to 'Webcam photo taken' when I get back home next month and have caught up on my sequential logging of caches found ***
Fangsoki took me to this webcam. I'm sure I would have got lost trying to find it.We checked the feed page and worked out that we had probably missed the last snapshot by a couple of minutes. We stood around refreshing the screen until our picture appeared.TFTC KiwiLegend It was great to get another one of the few webcams still active around the world.
My first visit to South Island, and this is my second cache from the South Island. Over the ditch for the Dunedin Mega, and arrived about midnight, and after a very short sleep am on my way south, but first - a photo here. Found a way in and a semi-sensible park nearby, and then patiently waited for the money refresh - and that's as good looking as I get. Thankyou so much for keeping this one alive so so long. Thanks KiwiLegend for bringing me to this location.*{Overall find #12772}*
CaptainVimes and I have crossed the pond to attend the Geo Toroa mega in Dunedin and tour around the South Island for two weeks. We arrived to find BenM70 and gcoven already standing in the garden. We stood around chatting until the picture changed. Thanks KiwiLegend and happy caching
Just innocent citizens or denizens up to no good? The people of Quirm are a strange breed. The worst part about being a copper on holidays is that crime doesnt take time off!
We flew all the way from Brisbane, Australia only for GCoven to lose a contact lens at the worst possible moment. Nice. Webcam in NZ done
Woohoo! Finally got my picture taken. MrsW is in the pic with GPS. . Thanks for the fun cache KiwiLegend.
I had been wandering around the Uni and by the time I got here, my phone battery wanted to shut down. I switched off my phone and when I switched it on again, there I was in the picture. Thank you for setting up and maintaining this webcam cache. *Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
We arrived and whilst waiting near the camera some buddies from brissy turned up too! Alas I was bent over checking the time ??? Who knows when the camera went snap! But here we are 4 Brisbanites! Tftc fave point !
Just collecting a few caches in Christchurch before heading down to the Mega at Dunedin along with a bunch of others to collect a whole heap more caches over a few hectic days. Nice to collect a webcam on my few hours in Christchurch. Tftc
DAY TWO (23/10). An early start with a breakfast meetup and then onto some caching. We had a list of general caches and the main priority will be the web Cam. It does seem as this one is a little different to the traffic cams around Europe. Today it was Bluewattle, Snickersallan, Wollaston and myself touring around town. There are seven or eight or more types on the list so it will be a busy day. The final for the night is a dinner event, but there is always time for one more. After our morning event it was on to the day of caching and this was one that was on the list. This was one of the main players for our trip to Christchurch. After searching around we finally found the spot to only sit and wait for the time to roll on, lol. Thanks for the placement and we had a little fun here searching and signing the log. Thanks for the cache.
Touring around with Aussie geo friends for a few days in Christchurch and picking up a few solved puzzles, a webcam, and selected others on our to-do list.Missed our first shot by a minute, then waited for the next round and bingo! Sorry, the picture is not so clear due to the bright sunny day.(In order, chamad, Bluewattle, Snickersallan, and Wollaston)Thank you, KiwiLegend, for maintaining this old webcam cache.
Thanks for placing and maintain for our enjoyment Found with Snickersallan, Wollaston and chamadVisiting Christchurch for a few days before heading down to attend Geotora Mega
Got off the plane and headed for this one I had to wait 15 min for my image to appear TFTC cheers
Day seven of our epic New Zealand Adventure with The Morris.Staying in Christchurch and spent the day at the Antarctic Center (with a few caches on the side!)Soon after we turned up KiwiLegend came out and had a chat.We were there long enough to get a couple of photos. Thanks for keeping this WebCam alive. Thanks, Robmc.
Hlsningar frn Sverige, sdra Lappland ???? Then it was time for a little adventure. The trip goes to Sydney in Australia ???? and then on to Christchurch and Dunedin in New Zealand ????.On the trip are, Tigertassen, myself, ursus67, Lnganfans and Pidjas go, which means that we log under the common name "Tulp". The idea is that before we go home we should have visited a Megaevent, Geo Toroa. Greetings from Sweden, southern Lapland ????
Day seven of our Enzed trip with Robmc. We are staying in New Brighton and spent the day at the Antarctic Center and then collected a few targetted caches this afternoonNice to catch up with KiwiLegend and have a chat. Thanks for this quite rare cache type KiwiLegend
We are four ladies from Sweden who are visiting Australia and New Zeeland We are logged as TULP This was one of the caches we found Thanks from Sweden
We are four ladies from Sweden on visit in New Zealand. We log as TULP (tigertassen, ursus67, lnganfans and pidjas). After arriveing very, very late we had some hours sleep and the started geocaching. We walked quite some time and it was really hot. After that we decided to do some caching by car. We were advised to take this one in the evening. A big thank you to CO for the cache.
A plan was hatched quite a while ago when the Dunedin Mega was announced to come over to the South Island again.I have only been to New Zealand twice before and I loved the South Island. So a chance to come back for a Mega was a no brainer for me.Everything was booked and I flew in yesterday after a bit of a delay.Im staying at the old Offices Mess building at the old Airforce Base and it is a wonderful old building.Day 2 begins so lets go find a few caches. This one was a definitely to do on my list and I thought today would be a good time to do it as it would be nice and quiet.Spotted the cam and waited for my pic to show up.I think every Victorian that is over here will do this cache.A fav goes out to you for a nice easy web cam cache. Thanks KiwiLegend TFTWCC.
Not a sole in sight today, might be mid-semester or perhaps they don't go to uni on Saturdays; whatever the reason, it was quiet and I was glad about it.We drove the quite close, walked up and spotted the camera easily. Now for the timing - would we have to wait 15 minutes? Nope, the one before us was 4.48 and we were there at 5.02 - timing could not have been better. We started to dance and muck around for the camera - unfortunately for me, all I was captured doing in the end was... yep... looking at my phone! Thanks for the fun KiwiLegend
Well my first day in Christchurch with Snips&Co turned out to be an amusing one. Starting off at the airport where I couldn't see Snips who had flown in earlier..I called her only to have her answer in stereo....yes she was standing right next to me ????..(should have gone with the placard Snips) we headed off to do this unusual webcam first..we waited and waited ..for the snapshot to be taken. There was a lot of interpretative dancing going on while we waited...but the snapshot got us in-between moves lol...1st official cache in New Zealand..let the NZ mega journey begin.
Very clever cache had to wait almost 40mins because I missed the first 2 captures even though I was already at the campus
Find #19,000!!!Day #2 Christchurch - The Mega New Zealand ExperienceA chance for an overseas Mega was too good to pass up. Especially with half the state seeming to be attending also. I set about some last minute planning. Flights still available Accommodation found Mode of transport securedLooks like its time to cross the ditch. Ive never visited the South Island before so it is bound to be a fun filled trip.I arrived after dark last night so today is my first chance to see the sights.I had targeted this cache as my milestone while visiting NZ. I parked the car and had 3mins to spare. I was running and I dont like to run. I made it to the spot just in time and then spent the next 5mins refreshing my screen hoping I made it. Winner Winner!!! My 19000 sign didnt really show up but thanks for keeping this cache alive!A big thanks goes to KiwiLegend for taking the time to add UC IC (Canterbury) to the geocaching map for us all to find and enjoy.-Wow! The fun just never stops.Have you logged your will attend for Victorias first ever Block Party? (Think Mega but even more special!)Join us on 22-23 March 2025 in Sunbury to celebrate 25 years of geocaching by logging your will attend at [**GCAP417**](https://coord.info/GCAP417).
bunadoorian and I came here this afternoon to have our photo taken. While we were standing there KiwiLegend came to chat. It was great meeting you today KiwiLegend - and many thanks for keeping this webcam cache in play.
After a long journey from Inverness via London and Singapore we finally arrived in lovely Christchurch this morning and made this webcam our first stop. I sent a message to the CO who had a spare moment to chat to us jetlagged tourists. Nice to meet you! This is our first cache in New Zealand and we're hoping to find many more in the next two weeks. At the moment we're exhausted and resting at our motel though. Favourite point for keeping this camera going and bringing us to the uni campus which is full of spring flowers. TFTC!
Wandered gently through this lovely campus with Gazania Rigens with my watch telling exactly the same time as if we were still in Inverness but with a sneaky 12 hour dislocation: its still yesterday in Scotland! We worked out that the next camera shot was in 2minutes, so I stood next to GR and held up the bright yellow London Block Party 2025 tea towel for extra visibility. Success!Great to meet the CO who was kind enough to come out to meet us and chat for a while Thanks for keeping this going!
Grub62 and I arrived at GZ and were waiting for our pictures to be taken when the CO arrived to greet us. What a nice surprise and only my 2nd welcome. Thanks for the entertainment and TFTC.
Well we landed in Christchurch yesterday morning from the UK and decided we needed a walk to keep ourselves going. A webcam cache was the ideal thing and close enough to where we are staying this week to make it possible. Jet lag meant that I didnt think to check the webcam was working before we set off and we arrived to find it was not working. A very kind man was very helpful in contacting the CO for me and he kindly reset the camera once he was back. Today I checked its progress and we set off to have our picture taken. I live webcam caches and sadly they are a disappearing type so I am very pleased to have found one in New Zealand. Fav point added, thank you x
#3870 Today is day 9 of my geocaching holiday in New Zealand. I'm touring around Christchurch and finding some geocaches in the area.Found it! The main goal today is to get the one and only Webcam Cache in New Zealand. Earlier today, when I checked the website, I was freaking out as the picture was stuck on October 5. I immediately contacted the CO regarding the page. 30 minutes later, still no response, I felt like it's forever. So, I couldn't wait to call the CO. I felt so relieved when he picked up the phone. I went to a brew pub for my late lunch while waiting for the Webcam to be reset and the rain to subside. The page was still not refreshing after 30min (2 pictures). I contacted the CO again. It turned out I had to use an incognito browser to get it to work. Before I headed back to the university, I went to grab more caches along the way. Getting a parking was a bit tricky as the majority of the signs read "staff only" or "authorized personnel only". After a couple of loops, I decided to park near the back of the building and walk over to the Webcam. It was a great timing that I arrived around 18:45, just 3 minutes before the next photoshoot. I got my pose ready, smiled at the camera, and kept that pose for a good minutes or two. I'm glad the photo turned out to be okay KiwiLegend, thank you for the cache!-crystaloops from Taipei, Taiwan on October 9, 2024 @ 18:48:00[GCHTKY] UC IC (Canterbury) was a D1.0/T1.0 Virtual Webcam Cache at the time of finding.
We are visiting New Zealand for 2 weeks on a family holiday from Brisbane. We only had one day to spend in Christchurch so after taking a tour around the town on the tram, I left the family at the awesome Margaret Mahy playground and took off to find some important geocaches. This cache was definitely on my must find list for the day having never found a Webcam cache before. A short Uber ride from the city to the university saw me arrive at GZ just before I had calculated the next picture would be taken. I got myself in the right spot and looked over towards camera. Soon I got a thumbs up in the window from the CO and not long after he appeared to say a quick hello. Thanks KiwiLegend for setting up this Webcam cache and keeping it running for such a long time!
Been wanting to find this one for a while. Finally got the chance today! Thanks for creating and maintaining! Webcam caches are always a favorite!
Beautiful day in chch today. Walked around the uni showing the kids where I used to study. TFTC
Nice evening, us and the pups in the photo. Don't see many webcam caches. This is our first one actually! TFTC
Here we are!!!! Webcam photo captured at approx10:34am today. Really glad to get this one done. OCW irondale today in Christchurch. The webcam was on my to do in NZ list and completes the absolute must do caches (which included all the year 2000 placed caches!)Thanks for placing and maintaining this one and TFTC
While holidaying back in NZ I had wanted to grab another Webcam cache - considering that I only have x4 after 17 years of caching, and I think that x3 are archived. While in Christchurch and waiting for our flight the next day, my son and I came to check on the University of Canterbury Webcam. While Frosty was checking for the other side I had come in to the right area. I couldn't see the usual form of a public Web cam, and so was wondering if I was in the right place. Just then Frosty came around the corner, and spied KiwiLegend waving his acknowledgement of us!!Great to meet the CO, who made sure that we had a screenshot! Great!! Thanks for keeping it active!
Briefly visiting Christchurch with dad (Grahamecookie) and noticed this wonderful webcam setup!! Such a neat cache to be apart of! Dad was trying to figure out where the webcam was and low n behold i spot who i assumed was the CO waving from a window so we thankfully got a very nice shot of us looking at our devices trying to get a good spot for the photo that was gunna be taken at 1215! But got lucky obviously and got a cute personalised one! Thanks so much for coming out n saying hello Gary! Aka Kiwilegend! Definitely made these Aussie blokes day by being so awesome Cache snapped at 1210 08/08/24TFTC!
Got some time between classes so here we are!Sorry it's a bit blurry but I pinky promise I'm holding my phone which is my gps lol.Tftc!
I st out to get this one on Sunday evening - stood in the wrong place for 10 minutes and my ground crew let me know the photo hadnt been captured So an early wake up and Uber drive to the correct spot with the browser open this time to ensure I captured the shot!Amazing to get such a rare cache - thanks so much for the cache
After arriving in Christchurch & settling into our motel, I decided to drive out the the university for this, as I knew the camera was working & I didn't want to miss out. I also thought that it might be easier to park at night. In addition, my wife & my caching pal back home could watch the fun!I had been watching the camera for a while & knew that the shots were being taken accurately on the quarter hour. I had an outside chance of getting there for 19:30, but was looking at 19:45 more realistically. I had worked out a good place to park & there was space there when I arrived. It was then just a short walk to GZ which I recognised easily & so I was soon in place. I stood for a couple of minutes until I was sure that the shot would have been taken & then waited anxiously for the feed to update. An excited message from my wife confirmed that I'd made it in time & shortly afterwards I was safely able to download the photo. Many thanks for keeping this increasingly rare cache type going. This is only the ninth that I have been able to get. It is also old enough for me to dip my *Horses Around the World* geocoin which only visits caches older than 20 years. And it obviously deserves a favourite point!Found at 19:30Cache #10350TFTC KiwiLegend
I've not done a webcam cache before so was keen to give this one a go. Was lucky to arrive about 5 minutes before the next photo was due to be taken, and just like that I'm on camera. Great fun, TFTC
Stopped at this cache while visiting **New Zealand**! [^]**My #151st visited Geocaching country!**I was there yesterday, but sadly the camera didnt work. So i wrote the owner in hope that he can fix it while im in the area. This morning i looked at the cache webpage and saw that its running again, so todays plan was to walk to the webcam once more. Bummer this was the only cache I really needed and the camera was down since 1am. Its now after 1pm. We contacted the owner but sadly it was not back on line by 3pm when I had to depart Christchurch for Kaikoura. Im gutted. I hope it stays alive for awile. CheersMatisons! is visiting from Latvia so we teamed up for a geo tour. Today is from Kaikoura to Christchurch with a side trip to Tui Glen. Left Matisons! at the cathedral just after 3pm and headed back to Zara bus at Kaikoura.
Was 1 minute too late as someone was walking pass and had to wait for another cycle. Students watching the stars nearby but cannot see us from behind the wall. First webcam cache and it was fun!
I got there today when I checked what times were the photos taken I noticed the the last photo was at 9:32am on the 6th of april. So there was no photo to be taken and uploaded.what next?
On our twenty-secound day in New Zealand we stay in Christchurch. This beautiful cache was on our way.TFTCHennesAt the end comes the poem of the day.New Zealand By James K. I have been collecting as many different types of cache in Christchurch today as I could and have managed to get three types. Please find photo attachedI hope that will be okayThanks for setting up this webcam

Thank you for the cache!Another day exploring and geocaching in New Zealand with my bestfriend geocacher Ironford. We left the North Island and are staying in Christchurch for a day before our tour of the South Island begins. It was a must to get this webcam cache, and we got soaking wet for it. It was actually the ONLY bad weather day we had had so far, and as it turned out - rain in Canterbury Plains meant snow in the mountains! Looking back, all good memories!Greetings from Prague, Czech Republic ??
A huge thank you to the cache owner for creating and maintaining a wonderful cache. EP79 and I have embarked on a three-month long geocaching trip across the globe, and we are both grateful and thrilled to discover new places and new friends. The first part of our trip is dedicated to Australia and New Zealand. Today we arrived at the South Island and explored Christchurch. It was raining so we didnt do as much as we wanted, but I am very grateful for this find! I'm the one in the black jacket.Sorry for logging with a delay. The trip was really busy, but at least I get to revisit these caches again and enjoy great memories. Many thanks for the invite to a beautiful place and for a wonderful geocaching adventure. Greetings from Prague, the Czech Republic, Europe.
GeoJayne and I started our day in Springfield at the big donut for an event and then made our way to Christchurch. It was a short travel day compared to others, but we loved being back on the curvy roads. Well, I loved it. GeoJayne still doesn't like the way I drive on the opposite side of the road from home in the U.S. LOLThis cache was one of my main objectives today. It took us FOREVER to find the right spot but eventually we got there AND got the needed photo. Phew! We wondered if you were watching us from behind the shark, KiwiLegend. LOL Thank you for the smiley and the fun!
Just getting around to logging the caches I found while visiting New Zealand from the U.S. with LaFavorite Cacher. We had a great time traveling around the country seeing the sights and picking up some caches along the way.Thank you for being a part of our adventures!Note: LaFavorite Cacher has sent in the answers for any earthcaches or virtuals required for both of us.
Found with Blue Jay on our last day on the south island before heading to Auckland in the morning. Photo attached - time 3.17pm..TFTC. Toffee Man.
Love a webcam. We also acknowledge the traditional custodians of New Zealand / Aoteroa, as we geocache throughout their land while on holiday. Thanks for showing us this place, & for placing and maintaining this cache. The is our playground
Stopped by today! Saw another geocacher in the shot from 10 minutes ago:) he pulled around in his car and saw me waiting for the next interval! Then the CO came popped out too! Thanks for keeping this one running. I think this is the only Webcam in New Zealand!
Visiting beautiful Christchurch on a glorious day. Got it! Arrived just in time for the new photo cycle. Great to be able to add another webcam, there are so few left. Thanks! Fav point added.
An old an great Webcam, a must to log. Thanks for the cache./herrFamaxe from Sweden
4-week family trip through NZ - Find #190!The _only_ Webcam Cache in NZ, and it's less than 10 minutes drive from our holiday home in Christchurch? Of course I had to give it a try . Driving up to the university, I had a bit of luck with the parking, but not so much with the camera timing [B)] - had to wait 14 minutes for "my" picture. So I had enough time to find the best spot to stand by studying the older photos .TFTC!
A group of 38 geocachers from Germany, Denmark, Luxembourg and Switzerland - Team Downunder24 - are traveling for 22 days from Frankfurt/Main via Doha to Australia and New Zealand. I was able to discover many wonderful things and irretrievable experiences are burned into my memory. Today our bus tour goes from Blenheim to Christchurch and our driver was kind enough to take us to the webcam, which was a must for all of us. What fun! I'm sitting in the front row - second from the right and I've circled myself in yellow. Thanks to KiwiLegend for the cache, luring and caring for it - kind regards from Switzerland ????

Herzlichen Glckwunsch.Danke fr diesen Geocache. Danke fr die Ausarbeitung. Danke frs Zeigen.Lieber Gru aus Duisburg / DeutschlandAndyDieser Logeintrag wird mit Hilfe von Google bersetzt.__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________We set off on a long journey with 37 geocachers from Germany, Denmark, Luxembourg and Switzerland. Three weeks to Australia and New Zealand, starting with a stopover in Doha, Qatar. I have never been so long and so far away from home. An exciting time. When geocaching, the focus was on many different cache types, but also special ratings, challenges and especially a few very old caches from the years 2000 and 2001. But also, of course, especially the geocaches that were easily accessible on foot from the hotel.Of course, the focus wasn't just on geocaching; the sights of the individual stations we visited also deserved attention. We entered our team name Downunder 2024 in the logbooks, saving logbook space and efficiently. It was a very special trip in a large team, which was also a lot of fun.Today we took the bus from Blenheim to Christchurch.Happy Birthday Geocache. 20 years old. Thanks for this geocache. Thanks for the elaboration. Thank you for showing me.Kind regards from Duisburg / GermanyAndyThis log entry is translated with the help of Google.
Together with 37 Cachers, we start a journey to Australia and New Zealand via Doha.In Qatar we spent one night and had almost one full day before heading to Sydney. In Australia we visit the cities of Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Cairns. In New Zealand will be Aukland, Rotorua, Wellington, Blenheim, Christchurch, Dunedin and Queenstown. Here, our busdriver was so kind, to bring us all here, so it got a bit croudy in front of the cam.Thank you very much for maintaining this Webcamcache.
Together with 36 other geocachers, the KiSt team undertook a very long trip to Australia ???? and New Zealand ???? for three weeks. On both the outward and return journeys, there was a stopover in Doha, the capital of Qatar ????.We experienced a great deal on this trip and gained many very different impressions of the two countries, their nature and their culture. Of course, the main focus was on visiting as many caches of as many different types as possible and also all accessible old cans. However, we also made sure to visit many special places of interest and to gain as comprehensive an impression as possible of nature and its flora and fauna. To save the logbooks, we usually signed in with our team name **Downunder24**. For "special" cans, however, we have not missed the opportunity to leave our nickname as well. This beautiful cache is now also one of our finds.Due to the large number of caches visited, it is unfortunately not possible for us to write an individual log for each can, which is why we would like to apologize to the owners for this collective log.We also met other cachers at some of the events and were able to share our experiences. Many thanks to the event owners!Of course we would like to thank all the owners for showing us the great locations, the sometimes tricky puzzles, exciting multis and wherigos, as well as the interesting virtuals and earth caches - TFTC!!!---In der Besetzung KiSt unternahmen wir zusammen mit 36 weiteren Geocachern fr drei Wochen eine sehr weite Reise nach Australien ???? und Neuseeland ????.

Fifth day in New Zealand ??. This is my first visit to this extraordinary country and the fulfillment of a long-cherished dream. In the past, it always failed due to the lack of a travel companion. Now I had the chance to join a large group of mainly German geocachers and I was delighted to take it. After a stopover in Qatar and 8 days in Australia, our journey continued from Auckland to Queenstown with various stopovers.Today we continued our journey by bus from Blenheim to Christchurch along the coast. Our driver was kind enough to make one last stop at the webcam for us ?? before continuing on to the hotel. I guess the campus has never been visited with a bunch of cachers from a coach ??. In any case, we positioned ourselves as a group in the right place and got the coveted photo relatively quickly. We quickly secured it with a screenshot and were able to leave the site satisfied. I have marked myself with an arrow in the photo.Thank you for laying & taking care .Fnfter Tag in Neuseeland ??.
# 21533Whau, I am on a three week trip with Cacher-Reisen and a bunch of fellow geocachers to Australia and New Zealand. It is so odd to imagine that I am going to visit a place that is nearly on the opposite of the globe from my usual hangouts. In Denmark it is late winter/early spring, and I am exchanging the winter-part for late summer in Australia and early autumn in New Zealand. This is so exciting. The itinerary is Frankfurt (Germany), Doha (Qatar), Sydney, Melbourne, Cairns (Australia) and Auckland, Rotorua, Wellington, Blenheim, Christchurch, Dunedin, Cromwell, Queenstown (New Zealand) before flying back to Europe. That will be two new continents and three new countries for me - and as far away from home as I have ever been. It is a lot of places and travelling, but we also have a plan to find lots of geocaches and see the sights and beautiful nature. This day we are travelling from Blenheim to Christchurch with a small detour to Kaioura to hopefully se some seals. I didn't quite succeed with that, but instead I saw a small group of lamas being paraded on the sidewalk. We were travelling along the eastern coast of New Zealand along State Highway 1, and we could se the difference of the nature on both sidse of the bus - Ocean and mountains. Denmark also has a lot of coastline, but we are a bit more protected from the Northsea because of Great Britain about 600 km to the west. Down here in the South Pacific there isn't much to give shelter from the East.We were heading to Christchurch to find our hotels for the night, but luckily we could convince the bus driver to take a small (-ish) detour, because all of us wanted to log this webcam cache. We arrived in due time, and we had time to relax, check the website, find our spots and get a little anxious before the photo was taken and uploaded to the web page. I am standing second from the right. Finally the photo uploaded and we hurried back to the bus and the hotel before enjoying more free time in Christchurch.Tak for cachen til KiwiLegend.
