FINDING WPT 2 WAS A LONG DRAWN OUT PROCESS INVOLVING SEVERAL ATTEMPTS BUT ONCE WE GOT THAT WE WERE AWAY LAUGHING-THE LOG WAS ALMOST ILLEGIBLE BUT WE WORKED IT OUT & MANAGED TO FINISH THIS CHALEENGING MULTI!TFTC
A lot of to-ing and fro-ing between waypoints, so we drove between them. Had no trouble finding the waypoints, but the final took a little longer. WP2 paper has been wet, and is starting to disintegrate. Still readable, except for final number. Needs replacing. Thanks.

Some interesting WPs to visit and great photo opportunities with the morning sun filtering through the trees. Thanks for sharing this spot with us T4TC.
Lots of backtracking but no problems with finding any of the waypoints. WP2 very very wet as mentioned by TWS but managed to read nearly all of it and had a bit of a guess at one of the numbers. Managed to guess correctly though and straight forward from there. TFTC
[font=Georgia][maroon]Helifant(hope I spelled that right!) told me I didnt need to walk the whole thing.
Headed off here after the CITO, all wps found - wp2 made me feel nervous - but got the info I needed - next cacher may not be so lucky if its not fixed.
Thanks for setting this up - nice piece of bush.

At long last its found. Once we had WPT 2 it was all plain sailing (or should I say walking) This walkway is particularly nice and paths make for an enjoyable walk. Thanks for getting it up and running again. In: TB Dinosaur - The Enforcer. Out - Nil

Yes can confirm wpt2 is missing.... will endevor to get it up and running as soon as a knee lets me.
sorry
sorry
Took reinforcements (in the form of Helefant) today to check again that Wpt 2 is definitely gone. Looks like quite alot of work been done around this spot, chopping out spikey trees. Got quite a few prickles in hands etc. So will wait for owner confirmation that Wpt 2 is up and running again before attempting again.
Finally got around to try and find WPT2 today. Alas cannot find any sign of it. Notice there hasn't been a find since June 2008. Has WPT 2 gone missing?
Great walk to end the day on. Waypoints fell quickly and the final was in a great spot. TFTC
Wpnt 1 is the first geo site I ever loooked for so glad to get back to complete. Wpnt 2 found this time definately wasn't here when I looked before (see previous log)unfortunately it's wet. Although I used car today to get to closer entrances I have walked/run round here many a time.

We found the first canister. Forgot how lovely it is through here. Then armed with gps to try and find the 2nd. No luck. Will keep trying on this one.

16:20 Found WP2 this time so the hunt was back on. I then found WP3 and had the final numbers. But ran out of time so came back to this one in the afternoon.
Both WP2 and WP3 and very wet and the paper is getting pretty mouldy, could do with some new laminated pages when you get a chance.
The final cache is very well hidden and is doing very well, must find some of those containers they make good caches.
TNLN, thanks for the cache.

09:41 Well started this today but couldn't find WP2 today. Pretty sure I located the item in clue (it's big enough). Might pay to check on this one. WP1 was out in the open again today. Thanks for the cache

Not so quick find, as quite a bit of walking was involved for this cache.
Had trouble locating the first waypoint. Eventually found in the open, hid it a bit better at base of stump (S36 46.640 E174 42.032). WP2 quickly found also in the open, stash note damp, so dried it before rehiding it at base of pine tree.
Had a quick look for Zork’s Tea Tree Trail (but no luck) while on the way back to WP3. Quickly found both WP3 and final – co-ords were spot on, and containers well hidden. Final cache contents nice and dry. Thanks for the exercise runzz. Enjoyed the views before moving on.

Path is blocked off due to safety reasons and you can't get through at the moment. We tried to find another way but couldn't find one. Pity, the day would have been ideal for a longer multi-cache.
Will get down and fix stage instructions in the next week. Disabling cache until fixed. Currently busy with exams
Didnt realize this was going to be such a long walk, but got there in the end as the sun was setting in the background.
Also didnt know this great park was here, even tho we live close by.
Must stress the danger of the cliff behind the final,if you were looking at the GPSr & not keeping a watch where you were going, well, it may not work out that well for you!
Well done for the caches, much enjoyed,& I agree with Tramper Ted who said his GPSr showed the final into the mangroves by 10 mtrs

Micros 1& 3 wet thru, suggest drying out & maybe laminating?
Final is fine apart from the log cover needing changing as its a bit tatty from having pencils inside. As a result the log book is a bit damp (not a huge problem tho)

A long walk along an interesting foreshore was a pleasant way to spend a spring afternoon. I found WP1 lying out in the open and very damp, so I put it away a bit better.
This was our third visit. The first time with friends one of the digits got read out wrong (but we didn't know it at the time)! No wonder we couldn't find it the second time, checked both lots of co-ordinates again and hey, there it was! Good to see they have mown the fields and rebuilt part of the walkway. TFTC
It took me several goes but I finally found this Multi. It turned out I had 1 digit wrong in one of the coordinates which put me some distance away. We are really lucky to have this area.

Really tough but rewarded in the end. Were just about to give up on WP 2 and 3 and one last look revealed them. We wish we'd read the previous logs first! The final cache also took some finding as it was really well hidden. Feel like we know this track really well now with all the to and fros and closed tracks to negotiate. Third multi cache of the day.

Maintenance Visit, all points are in their intended positions.
The final container is hidden well in its position, probably have to crouch down to see it.
For the 3rd point with the gum, just think as it has a hint and with added camo.

Had some new trainees with us and located the three micro caches easily enough. A good demonstration of ignoring 'track closed' signs and waltzing around the side of the barriers like everyone else has done. Agree third cache encased in sap still. Then came the last location. Reckon we were in the right place, and yes the GPS was pointing out into the mangroves, but after 20 mins of searching gave up and retreated to the cafe. Would like to know if the cache is still actually there.
Have been to the coordinates on 3 occasions now but still can't find the loot. Seems I have found what seems to be the obvious place but no joy there Will try again next week.
Finally found this pain in the butt cache. (Having also forgotten to fill in info from the second mini) Nice quick find dispite dodging lots of track closed signs and good thing too! My third or fourth visit to this area. TNLNSL
The track closures sure make this tricky, the locals have re-opened one, just ignored another, and drove around a third. Agree with BenMc, the third waypoint is covered in sap and very messy.
Found the micros quickly, though think the coords for three could do with a re-visit. Struggled for the final though, but 20 mins of persistance eventually paid off.

Have found all three of the multi's but ran out of time for the last. May hit it tomorrow when I do Old Stumpy. Worried about the last co-ords pointing out into the swamp! I take it you use the last lot of Latitude and only add in the new Longitude. By the way, the last mini was almost buried in an out pouring of sap!
This was a combination drive and jog/walk cache. A fair few of the tracks look like they had been closed, but the locals have reopened them I believe there are also alternative routes to access each waypoint too. Lovely area! No exchange made. Cheers Gav [687]
Found all the caches, over a number of days. It pays to keep your wits about you and read everything twice.

Having done 3 other caches that day it was quite a walk for the young fellas. This was our second attempt as last time the first stage had been muggled [:(!] however this time around victory was ours with micro falling after micro although the second micro was 12 metres away from GPS co-ordinate. Well worth it in the end. Thanks runzz from Apeldoorn

5.40pm. Completed this rambly outing successfully. Had started and located 1 and 2 on Friday afternoon but ran out of time so returned attempting to dodge the squally showers on a very stormy Sunday late afternoon. Got wet. But victory is sweet. Really enjoyed this cache and had a couple of good walks in the process (particularly in view of the closed section of one of the tracks). Many thanks Runzz.

All stages are operational now, stage 1 was missing (sorry Zorgon & Apeldoorn).
As mentioned in previous log there are 2 portions of the walkway that are closed. The stages are possible to get to by alternative entrances.

Also a portion of track is closed (cheers for informing me Zork V)

Like Zorgon located the likely clues to the first micro, but could not locate before dark. We will what until it's existence is confirmed before returning.
Had a very bad day today as this was our fourth DNF. Found a very likely L tree right across the track and a stump at the perfect location but couldn't for the life of us find the first waypoint.
Found the clues easy as, but for the life of me I couldnt figure a way of getting to the final cache.
Ran out of time, as I wanted to find more caches, but I walked the entire track!!
Any hints on how to reach the final cache site?
Cheers

What a great walk we had. The first 3 stages were relatively easy but by the time we had the last co-ordinate we were getting a bit tired and thirsty. The final cache was an easy find and after a bubble bath and a sleep I have fully recovered.

Finally found this cache. A few months ago I visited and found all the stage caches, but the final one ended up being awol. Since I was in the area to find another cache, I took the oppurtunity to find the final cache again.
took nothing, left nothing.

Maintenance Visit on final cache, everything is all in working order.
Stopped by was in area finding new 'Tea Tree Trail' cache.
Replaced pencil (don't use $2 Shop pencils as they are hard to sharpen as break easily).

Back to crack it!!! 0945. A nice early morning walk, lots of hounds out again but they didn't bother us today. View would have been better if the tide was in. Did some "cache in - trash out" as some fireworks had been abandoned in the reserve.

The next to find the cache should take a pencil sharpener as one of the two pencils is broken and the other looks close to going the same way. Cheers
Live not far from here, so thought we would try evening caching, against runzz's advise. Local hounds were bringing too much unwanted attention. We'll back to crack this one soon.
I live in this area but didn't know this "little" walk existed. Though the steps gave my crook knee a bit of a workout.
It was a pleasant way to spend some time in a beautiful area except for the hoons on the jetskis.
Had to watch out for a few muggles using the walkway.
ColdStream and I were asked if we were lost as we waited for a muggle and his dog pass by at one of the multicaches.

Really enjoyed this one, being the 3rd today. A good walk in nice area. TNLN, but will return here for a walk another time. Cheers.
So... we may have cheated a bit. We went from one parking spot to another, not doing all of the trail all of the time! (it was rainy, and we didn't want the car TOO far away)
Saw the Dwarf's entry, but the final cache was looking good; everything in place, and not even a bit damp.

Wish council would better mark the start of these tracks,
it always seems like you're walking up a private driveway
into someones backyard, but once started they're all
quite clear. Thanks for the exercise, TNLN, cheers.

Found the three film canisters quickly. The second canister very quickly as I could see it quite clearly from the track. (Placed it back closer to cvar out of sight from the track)... Didn't have time to search for the cache but logged it's coords for next time.
Returned today to find stage3 and final cache without problem.

Went out family caching in the sunshine. GPS was determined the first cache was about 20 m out, so took some finding.
Left the family at the playground and off to the second cache round the bays. By the third cache, I was getting used to this caper, and found it quick smart.
Then all back to the final cache, which wasn't too far away. Getting to know this coastal area fairly well after all that walking...
In: Suction cup hook, dinosaur in yucky-gooey-stuff.
Out: Expanding dolphin, tweezers
Thanks for the cache, it was fun!

Tide in so had good views along river, No problems with finding all the points. A bit long, raining most of the time
No swop
Final cache has now been placed in a new location, after the original location was too prone to muggles.
The intermediate caches are still in their original locations and all in good order.
Added a gold yo-yo in final cache.

Upon returning for a second assessment, stumbled across cache- literally. Container was in the open and contents scattered on the ground, at first I thought it had fallen from where it should be, but the lid was screwed on????
Assume Muggle-larvae have found it, although nothing appears missing. In light of this possible breach, decided against adding TB Peewee. Some lovingly tended (and freshly watered) funny five-fingered seedlings in the general area too...

Will have to reset final cache as was disturbed by muggles. Hopefully willnot be too long for it to be back up.
Returned today to attempt the final the final cache after verifying that I'd noted the coordinates correctly with runzz and by checking the NSCC GIS system's aerial photos. Great little spot for the final cache. TNLNSL. Thanks runzz.
[Found it with JDHnz. It was really ME that ran out of steam yesturday - I confess. But after a long hot bubble bath last nite - managed to come out today with "gunz a blazin".] Awesome little spot, very "cozy" for some I noticed by the litter around. [Thanks Runzz]
Well well well... what a cache... I recomend that ppl wear shoes (as should alwaye be done) as i didn't and now have sore feet (the fool I am) nice walk on a lovely day that I prolly should have been working... oh well tomorrows another day
took nothing but left a pair of retro beetles style sunnys.

[We (JDHnz & LRPnz) found all of the microcaches without too much pain, apart from walking past the 2nd one about four times, but ran out of time and energy to go looking for the final cache.] Now that I've plotted the coordinates of the final cache in TUMONZ, I'm a bit worried that I might have copied them down incorrectly as it has the cache out in Hellyers Creek.
Gosh Darn it Tofska! I was there as fast as I could! I was on Rangitoto all day collecting one of Tofska's shot glasses among other things. As soon as I got home I checked the log to see if any one had been there all ready, and then high tailed it overto Glenfield.
It was only when I found the final stage that I knew Tofska had got there first. I am first to log it anyway.
I had a slight feeling of deja vue doing this cache, There are certain similarities with another nearby cache?
An interesting walk just the same
