Down to Melbourne to escort my mum to hospital - giving me significant free time for a couple of days. Last day today as she is all good and coming out later on ... What to do? LGA hunting and some old virtuals like this one my goal today ... a quick stop here. Not a show I've ever watched or understood the interest in, but I was aware of it.Thanks EuDes for bringing me to this location. Answers sent*{Overall find #12948}*
15 November 2024This is find number: 10480Streak Day: 3256Found Today with Snoopy1976, very quiet in the street today accept for a Security guard. Thanks for bringing us to this locationThanks to EuDes for placing and maintaining this cache. TFTC
Streak Day #4145 - In VIC for a week with Dave8153 for work, stopped by for a quick look and to gather info required. Have been here many a times and have had pics in th street with the fictional street sign. TFTV
Of course I came during a filming day! Couldn't see any actors, only their trailers and security. The court was sectioned off but I was able to find the information required elsewhere. Answers to be sent shortly. TFTC
Great to come and see this street at night, never knew it was blocked off but the guard let us in to get the required info. Travelling around Victoria with Freddo for a week finding caches as we go. With two challenges on our radar we were in full force. All logs signed with our names or F+g98 for the smaller caches. Thanks for the cache
Nice Street! Although it was blocked from public access and a security guard watched us, we still gathered some information. Thanks to EuDes for the virtual cache. Answers sent.
Catching up on logging virtual caches after visiting Melbourne for a few days for the Grand Prix. As most of my time was dedicated to being at Albert Park, there wasn't a whole lot of time for caching. So with the spare time I had before returning home, I decided to focus on grabbing a bunch of virtuals, including some out in the suburbs utilising a mixture of trams, trains and ubers. I had a fair idea which tv show this street was featured in, but did a quick google to double check. Truth be told, I never watched any of it, and I'm not a fan of the genre it fits into at all But still worth a visit to pick up a virtual, and a 20 year old one at that. Answers sent. Thanks for the virtual cache
As 80s teens from the golden age, whose first exposure of Aussie culture was watching this programme, it's only fitting that this should be our first cache in Australia! Thanks for setting...all quiet here today, just a couple of security guards hanging around.
Visited it during 28-days geotrip to Australia, N.Caledonia, Vanuatu, Fiji, Am.Samoa, Fr.Polynesia with Marci, Ch. Sometimes we logged as "MT" or "Jonea" or "MTCh". Thanks for showing nice caches and places. MT-Jonea from Brno city in Czechia EU. FP
Greetings from Seattle! I am lucky enough to attend the Great Leap Forward Mega-Event in Adelaide with my fellow Lackey and best geo-buddy giacaches, and we hit the road to take the scenic route to get there. We've been keen to find a bunch of Virtual Caches this trip to help us along with a challenge we're working on, so we stopped by this spot on our way to our end point for the day. When we arrived we were met by a security guard, so we couldn't get out to take photos - we got what we needed from a distance. Thanks so much for adding to the trip!
Greetings from Seattle! I'm down under for the first time with jtcoffee to attend the Great Leap Forward in Adelaide. While here, we're naturally trying to pack in as much "bonus" adventure as possible, including (but not limited to) the following: Log our find finds in the southern hemisphere Find Lane Cove, Australia's Oldest Experience Taylor Swift's Eras Tour in Sydney Drive the Great Ocean Road Visit the Lord of the Rings filming locations in New Zealand Tackle a challenge cache requiring 31 Earthcaches, and 31 Virtuals in 31 days (GC32TBZ and GC32TC2) I think this is our 11th virtual of the trip thus far... woohoo! As others have mentioned, there is a dedicated albeit bored security officer outside and we couldn't get as close as we might have liked. Answers have been sent by jtcoffee for both of us. Thanks for keeping this in play and contributing to our amazing experience in Australia!
Found with SciFiRulz and PapaGrouch. I watched the show back when it first started a thousand years ago but havent watched it for a lot of years. I dont remember the street or the houses but we did have a long conversation about what it must be like to live in the street then and now! Thanks for bringing us here.
Found with PapaGrouch and WeRAmused. I have never watched the show either, but managed to work out the answers and today we visited the site. No security stopped us driving in, but there was a securtiy car parked near the entrance to the court. Maybe they were on a break as we didn't see anyone. Good to be able to log this old cache at last. TFTC
I am likely the only person on the planet who has never watched an episode of this show. When I arrived at the thoroughfare a security guard told me I couldn't approach the house. I offered him a pen and paper and asked him to note down the information I needed. He relented and walked with me to within reading distance and I copied the numbers. When I left he was having an animated conversation on his mobile, no doubt telling his boss about the mad/sinister/suspicious/malevolent person who had just been there. Tftc.
Like the previous cacher I don't think I have ever seen a full episode of this show. However, I do remember it being advertised at saturation levels during breaks in play at major sporting events. In fact to the extent that the host broadcaster missed played points during the Australian open tennis and goals in the AFL. Because of this, in respect of the AFL they now have a 30 second break after a goal is scored before play is recommenced something that used to take 10-15 seconds.
Thanks so much for taking the time to do this virtual cache. Have visited this spot 20+ ago when this show was in its prime, so it was great fun going back.
Was never my favourite show growing up but i failed to realise I lived so close to the set!
Thanks for a great virtual!
Thanks for a great virtual!
Learnt a lot today with ConnieandRick! TFTC and thanks Connie for the day out hunting caches!!
Out for a day with CindyAus22. This was on my list of oldies. I'd been here before, about 20 years ago, when a visitor from the UK asked to drive here to see it. Only a 53 km round trip, I was underwhelmed but whatever! Amazed they still need a security guard, who got out of their car, but didn't bother us.
Thank you so much for the placement of this natural in amongst the Melbourne Suburbia
I am on a short trip in Melbourne I am collecting local government areas today and apart from that not a great deal.
Thanks for the cache.
Great job

I think everyone at least once in their life has had a phase of loving this show. Luckily we must have come here when the guards were having their lunch so we had the street to ourselves. This was a nice fun virtual, thanks for the cache!
This show used to be a family favourite back back in the day. Back then I had a penpal from England and I would update her on what was going on because believe it or not Australia was airing 7 weeks ahead of England so my penpal became very popular at school with the updates I was giving her. This was my first time visiting this street, and I was somewhat surprised that some of the houses were looking a little worn. Thanks for a fun Virtual
I found myself spinning around here, which felt appropriate... Not a huge fan of the show, but I'm aware of it and like filming locations - there's a phrase for 'collecting' them; Set Jetting - so dropped by for 10 minutes and this Virtual. All very painless and got a nod from the security guy. Answers coming by Messenger. Thanks for a quirky one.

CaptainVimes and I are on a driving holiday through Victoria for the next week. We were heading north and decided to swing by here for a look. A security guard gave us a dirty look so we couldn't stop for a proper photo. Thanks for the fun EuDes
Esoteric Street
Curving from the River Ankh hubward of the Unreal Estate to Upper Broad Way, Esoteric Street is the location of several upscale gentlemen's clubs, including Fidgett's. Winvoe and Prood, Chartered Accountants, are also located here at the sign of the Crossed Quills. It also the home of the Frout Academy For Inquiring Young Minds, which the neighbours must be really pleased about. The Trespassers' Society of Ankh-Morpork is also based here, at no. 24b, conveniently close to the gentlemen's clubs, which must make starting and finishing those Eighty Days Around The Discworld challenges a lot more convenient and civilized.

Used to watch this show every week growing up, then forgot all about it! Knew about the street after moving nearby, and turns out this cache was here! Nice find and the security guy was really nice. TFTC!
Required info found easily - will send shortly. Security guard was obviously aware of what I was doing collecting required number. Not far from home but never viewed the house before - interesting to think how it would be to actually live there. Aware of but never into the famous series. A different cache experience. TFTC
We sent our answers to the CO ages ago and then totally forgot to log it. D'oh!
We picked a rare moment to visit this site. At that time, the show had finished and hadn't yet been revived by Amazon. Consequently, we had no issues accessing the site and were able to take a few snaps and answer our questions unhindered.
Thanks EuDes for showing us this iconic site.

I visited this fun cache a few days ago and had an enjoyable look around while i collected the required information. As I was leaving i was accosted by a security guard but only for a polite chat so all was well. Lovely!
Work arranged itself rather nicely last week giving me a period of six days off. I spent a bit of time working out which direction i wanted to head for caching fun and decided to have another go at Melbourne and the surrounding suburbs. I then took quite a while coming up with a list of caches to target, there are just so many possibilities! I packed, had accommodation sorted, and even had a muggle caching buddy lined up to do the driving. Perfect!
Too perfect... . Plans changed at the last minute and i went down to the city solo and without the accommodation option. I wasnt sure if i would keep the rest of the plan or head for the hills instead. I ended up heading home on the morning of the fifth day. I had somehow managed to hurt my back and it just kept getting worse as i went on. A bit of a fraught trip but i still had a lovely time.

I dropped past the street after grabbing a few caches at Deakin Uni. This was my first visit here since living in Box Hill over 20 yrs ago. The "street" feels much smaller than it appears on the telly. As I collected the numbers, a couple of people were out of their cars filming the houses. Do they not know people live here? I noted that the houses are in dire need of some landscaping. Perhaps Bezos is not that interested in keeping up appearances during the off-season?
I first watched the show in 1985 when it was on 7, and I was living in Canberra. I remember the stories being quite gritty, but when I moved to Melb. it had changed to be more dramatic and honestly fairly boring. But, 40+ years of success means that obviously, I was wrong! Thanks for placing this cache in the street and hopefully it'll be here for many years.

Answers sent……wooohooo what a crazy Christmas this one has been……Covid ruined Christmas Day road trip to Melbourne Christmas night…caching then Boxing Day more caching……then……to end up on one of my……no not one….the only soapie I loved……my life ended earlier this year…….but made up for it today when we turned into this street……omg……I looked like a total stalker taking picture…..but that just topped my unconventional Christmas off to the max and spent with the best people in my life….great day

kenbryl, jenno3 and I came to Melbourne yesterday arvo to finish off Christmas Day.
We got up this morning and made our way around to a few caches. This was on our list.
kenbryl and I don’t watch the show. But fun fact - I knew the dressmaker of Charlene’s wedding dress!
Jenno3 was pretty stoked to get out and so have a bit of a look around and take some photos.
Definitely a Christmas to remember!

Never heard of the show, security guard was very active in watching us. But we wave and headed off as soon as we concluded our business.

Out with ?????? the Green Geckos & Bris Lions on our way to the VIC Mega. With a number of targeted caches to collect up on the way, we found this one. We arrived to this all too a familiar location I was surprised by the scale the street it’s larger on TV.
I believe Bris?? has forwarded the answers.

Muggle65, Brislions and l are on a big road trip. We have a very select list of caches to stop at as time is always too short. We were surprised to see a camera crew here today but street was not blocked off. Thank you for the fun ??
In Victoria for a few days for the MEGA, we attended a couple of nearby events and had to come here, it couldn't be missed.

Thanks Eu Des for the Virtual cache. An FP from me as I religiously watched the show when it first started. And I'm somewhat of a Kylie and Guy Pearce fan!

Found this while attending the Whittlesea mega.
I grew up in Mooroolbark and have visited this court many times in my teenage years. Saw a few filming sessions over the years. So I think it’s safe to say I was a fan.
Funny how it finished up just weeks before heading down then I heard while down in Victoria that’s it’s starting up again. Not sure it’s quite the same as when I watched it in the Jason and Kylie years.

Day 12 of our Whittlesea Road Trip and we made our way from Inverloch to South Morang via a few different LGAs.
We chose your virtual because Richmond Lad was a big fan of the show. Found the info easy enough and had a bit of a chat with the security fellow. Thanks

While on my way to the MEGA event in Whittlesea, I had the opportunity to get in a few extra days of caching beforehand. This got me to go to areas I would not have normally seen and to some awesome caches. Today I arranged to meet up with Snickersallan and we would do some caches around the area, fill in some grid spaces and look at some labs. We had fun chasing multi’s, although a couple did not work out even when the checker agreed with us. We got in a few caches around this area before we had to head back to a dinner event I had organised.
After the night’s event, we thought we would go for a drive and grab a few more caches in the area. It was down to this one for a night time grab and something a little different. It was another TV show themed virtual I had just completed one and was still finding answers to the next when we stopped here for another, lol. At 11pm there is a security guard who does not let anyone into the street once the signs go up. I got my answers and a pic, however we went back again in the daytime for someone else so I got the required answers completed and did not have to use option 2. Thank you for this virtual and the fun we had here, both times.

On my recent trip to Victoria for the Whittlesea Mega I ventured to many lovely places and this was one of them.
Out with fellow Queenslander, chamad, night caching and had no luck with the security guard here but got a couple of good pics as proof of visit just the same. Then after an Event the following day we swung by and bonus, we could go in and out of the street unsupervised!
Thanks EuDes for this beaut Virtual, had two visits within a couple of days. (Answers emailed as requested)

Cache 100 visited the street while working in Australia. There is a security guard who wasn't really allowing you to spend a lot of time on the street.
Pleased to be able to pick up this virtual today whilst in the area. The area is very iconic. LL grew up watching it but you can see it was time to retire.

I live pretty close to this suburb and watched the show, but I never new where it was filmed. This is what I love about geo caching, you find so many new places that you never knew existed.
Never been before but thought we would visit to see where the famous show was filmed. Security guard was friendly and seemed to be a huge fan! Tftc Eudes!
Great to see this lovely iconic melborne street , forever remembered, been watching it on TV for 38 years. Tftc!
T4TC, first find on an early Sunday morning. I was over at Crossway! Spotted it was jus across the road. Walked over & there it was. Have a great Sunday everyone
Last day of a planned three-day trip to Melbourne - Happy International Geocaching Day!
This one has been on our radar for a long time, and today we made the effort to go a bit further out of our way to make sure we found it before heading back home to Western Victoria.
There was a security guard in the court - very friendly and very aware of people wanting to look at the power pole. He thinks he's only got a job for another 3 months now that the TV show has finished production. What a cushy job though - bet his next security position won't be as much fun.
Thank you EuDes for placing and maintaining this Virtual Cache for all these years. Answers have been sent.

We were in the area and thought we would attempt this virtual. My boys had never watched the show and the last time I had watched it was well before they were born! There was a security guard on duty at the top of the court. He looked very bored. Not much activity on a rainy, cold Saturday afternoon. We enjoyed the walk around. Thank you EuDes for getting us out of the house today.

We did actually complete this cache during one of the lockdowns last year and just realised we still had not logged it. We used to live in the area and have driven past this court many many times on our travels and never actually gone down the street. A show we used to watch back in the very early years but not now. Very quiet here on a rainy easter Monday, not a neighbour or security guard in sight. I was a huge fan in the late 80s and it’s only taken me 37 years to get here for a sticky beak. Thank you bringing me to this iconic place.

100th Find for Geocaching, needed to make it one of special one.
Thought we would also show the kids where Neighbours was filmed given the history of this one. Thanks.

I've been near this street many times but have never stopped in to check it out. Growing up I never watched this show although I had many friends who watched it religiously.
Today when I turned up there was a security guard keeping an eye on the street. So I did my best to collect the info and then headed off before he told me to move on.
Thanks for the cache!

We headed back home through Melbourne and decided to find some cache in LGAs where we hadn't found caches before. Seeing this virtual nearby, we made the detour, and we knew which fictional street we were heading to from the phrasing of the cache name. Mr. Domaniax's daughters used to watch this show and the copy on the other channel when they were going up, so he had no choice but to hear it in the background. Fortunately no filming today; maybe it is finally off the TV; we are not sure; we don't watch much commercial TV. We have sent the answers to the CO. Thank you, EuDes, for this Virtual and for keeping it going so long.
Neighbours, everybody needs good Neighbours! Are you really a Melbourne local if you've never been to Ramsay St... on the way to your year 11 formal? And brought every other British mate of yours here for photos? TFTC.
On my way back home from getting supplies and my daily allowed exercise and realised this was nearby. Perfect for a drive-by during COVID-lockdown! I have lived near here for a while and never actually knew this was actually where this was so pretty cool.
This was a cheeky drive by today as I had to take my son to a nearby paediatrician appointment and seeing a virtual nearby, I realised I could do a quick check of the area and head off.
The answers have been sent through to the CO, so hopefully this is ok given the current state. Fortunately I didn’t have to leave the car and I was in an out quicker than a bank robbery.
This was a fantastic cache and I’ve always been interested in visiting here given I am not from Melbourne and the family seems pretty set to stay here. I just wish it was warmer given I am a northerner from a state much further away.
TFTC, it was fun!

I drove Aquilus1 around Victoria, it was a great trip and some great sights were seen. It was actually very relaxing not being involved in where/what we were collecting....I should do it again sometime. Thanks for making me come, it cheered me up no end.
Sorry for the generic log.... all answers (if any) sent by Aquilus1

I actually visited this Virtual Cache on the during the Mega in November 2018 and collected the information needed to claim the find. I wrote the answers onto a bit of paper that was in the goodie bag that they handed out at the event and forgot all about it. Answers sent to the CO and will ad some photos of my trip when I dig those out too. Thanks for the cache and the adventure

After spending the morning at the Camberwell market, visiting Fed Square for an exhibition, and then to Acland Street, St Kilda to stock up on cakes for tonight's dessert we were making our way back to our hotel in Wantirna and I wanted to find a few more caches on my list of '500 Oldest Active Vic Caches'.
Oh the memories this Cache brought back when we visited the street today. From the days when a big group of us red-blooded young male teenagers used to commandeer the remote control for the TV in the Uni common room so we could get our fix of watching a certain young female mechanic to several years later when I moved in with Mrs P and she was a mad fan of the show as well. We don't watch anymore but that jingle still gets stuck in your head!
Was pretty cool to visit the street today, was much smaller than I imagined it to be, and we struck up a brief conversation with the very friendly security guard who was on patrol. And judging by the traffic coming in and out it obviously continues to be popular today!
Thx to EuDes for this Virtual Cache, enjoyed our quick visit here today. Answers sent as required.

The rain was very persistent and we were quite wet by the time we arrived, but it was nice to arrive and see the road blocks all piled up neatly on the side of the road and drive in! I watched this show way back when, sooo long ago so was interesting to see the street. We were able to pull up right by the numbers but for good measure the security guard walk over and pointed to the numbers on the pole while they were being recorded. I guess we sat there for a while longer than most as it was hard to read them through the very wet window!
Trip log: I have had a trip in mind for a while now, a 'Victoria loop' which would see a number of counties travelled through but also visit the last active Web Cam left for me in Australia and a 2000 cache which would see my Ausmer complete! A trip would not be complete without some company so a little convincing and a suitable friend was talked into coming along... and for good measure they would drive and keep me from getting myself into too much trouble while at it!
Counties featured high on my list, but each one filled with quality... oldies, larges, and types that where sought. As is the way the list led to a varied and interesting trip with some very amazing locations discovered along the way.
Day one saw a lot of distance travelled but just four caches found for the day, all quality and after a trip up Mt Buller late in the day we settled into the finest lodgings Mansfield had left.
Day two started well and the highlight among many was GC7A with my Ausmer complete but a great cache location and the gate installed for easy access was a hit. Our journey took us onto a number of locations and through the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. It was here with the light drizzle that settled into solid rain that I was thankful of my driver who calmly followed my directions despite the conditions as I juggled caches on my list to replace the walks the rain and the 13 degrees weather had made too uncomfortable. Ending the day cold and wet in Dandenong the accommodation made up for the previous nights and the local pizza sure did hit the spot.
Day three saw a return to lovely weather with us driving the guard rail hwy... endless guardrails on all roads. Frankie the Gnome wasn't on the list but too hard to miss as we passed! Down to Mornington Peninsula and through some interesting locations towards Lakes entrance and stopped in Bairnsdale overnight.
Day four and after a little local caching around the 'lakes' area on another lovely day, it was the long haul up towards Eden. The 2020 fires devastation was enormous as we drove through the endless winding road with all the fluffy looking regrowth. Crazy to think back to that time and see how nuts it all was. Another full day but made it safe and sound back home again.
Many thanks to all the CO's for your caches that led us on an enjoyable journey through some interesting locations with great places visited along the way..

Determined to answer question 3 meant quite a few visits to this area.
Today we got in just as the bollards where about to be dragged out. Great timing at last.

living less than five ks away for about five years now
good to finally conquer this looming spectre
a man in fluorescent yellow stood sentinel
polite head nods were exchanged as the data was downloading

I have sent my answers to the CO and am logging this cache hoping that they pass muster.
Got swooped by a magpie while walking through the nearby park on the way from another cache to this one but got there safely in the end and luckily for me there was no filming today. I have never been here before even though I only live a few kms away but I have never really watched the show but it sure has been on for a long time. TFTC
I didn’t realize I hadn’t logged this one from a previous visit. We had gone to explore the location and only realised while we were there that there was a cache down the street. We weren’t able to access the pole due to security manning the street so we took our pic instead (the guard was wondering what we were up to). I managed to submit my answers recently and now follows the log. I wonder what it’s like to live in this street permanently. Thanks for the cache
My sister used to watch this show religiously back in the day. Me... not so much but now I know it is just off a road I drive regularly.
TFTC!

After spending so long at home in lockdown today it was the first chance to get over a have dinner with my elderly Uncle. With that trip in mind I also wanted to include this cache in my journey as I thought a Virtual would be one of the safest type of caches to do in todays troubling time.
It was nice and quiet a GZ with only the security man nearby. I had a quick chat with him while I gathered the vital information. During that chat he told me that many people stop by to grab the same details .
The information has been sent to the CO
Thank you EuDes for the virtual

I collected the numbers a little while ago, with the intention of bringing my daughter to do some virtual caches for her birthday so as not to need to touch any containers, however with the travel restrictions we decided just to log it. I have sent the answers to the CO.
This show was a personal favourite of mine for about 20 years growing up, pretty much from the very beginning until it changed to channel 11 in the late 2000s. Ironically, the house at number 5 was always one of my favourites as I can recall some memorable scenes involving K & S in that driveway.
Thanks EuDes for the reminder of this show that was such a big part of my life for so many years. Thanks also for the Virtual Cache.
This will be the last cache we get to log for quite a while until the restrictions are lifted.

It seems things have calmed down in this court over the years. The old guy watering his garden clearly wanted a chat and relived the 'glory days' of naked backpackers running around the court and other shenanigans! Answers sent via The Rusty.
Well, it’s craaaazy times in the world right now and likely to only get crazier. So, while we are still allowed some freedom, Hera & I met up for some sunshine, caches and a long overdue catch up.
I was surprised at how unassuming this court was. Who looked at this place and decided it was perfect for filming a soap opera? I obviously never watched it all that much because I didn’t recognise any of the houses.
The best bit was chatting to an elderly resident who thought we were there for sightseeing and asked where we were from. He told us stories of countless people who had turned up and taken nude photos in the court, including one group of young men who had entered his property and weed off his balcony!!! He said the amount of mind-boggling things he’d witnessed there was unbelievable. Nice guy, he was.

Answers were sent to EuDes last night. I called in here after a nearby CITO and Meet and Greet Event - yesterday. I miss read the description and thought I had to wait for the CO's approval to log -oops!! Well the lovely security guard is still there and when I went straight to the pole he just waved! Thank you EuDes for bringing me to this spot - I have enjoyed seeing where TV shows are filmed around Melbourne - with these virtual caches.

I knew exactly what this was all about as I came here many years ago with some friends who were visiting from England. TFTC!
I was exploring Vermont area and after caching a day decided to do quick visit here. I've never heard about the TV show, but anyway lovely street. Tftc!
Had no clue what we were walking into until we got here. And was not allowed in. Got a nice pic tho

When planning my trip to Melbourne, I had intended to visit this street. I couldn't believe it when I found out my favourite cache type was also in the same spot!!
My second day in Melbourne, and what a miserable day it was. I've now been living in Australia for 8 months, and this is the worst weather I've ever experienced over here. It's giving me flashbacks to what it's like to live in the UK, ugh. But despite the horrendous non-stop rain, I did my best to go out and find some caches in new LGAs. Sadly that did not go to plan.
I first visited the outside of Nunawading Studios to see if I could spy anything from inside the fences. A few roofs and the tram set was spotted!
Then it was down to the cul-de-sac to see the famous street! There was a security guard next to a van who was apparently keeping watch on the street! A couple "road closed" signs nearby too. Maybe some action had been called off due to the heavy rain!
I watched this show every day between 2008 and 2019, so it's always been a long-distant dream to come here! Fantastic, have a favourite point when I next get a free one. TFTC.
