It appears this cache may have disappeared in a flood. Disabled until further notice.
The signs of water here were amazing. I did see the nettles people talked about, but I also was unable to locate cache. Maybe time for a check.

We decided to stop and have a look at the Palm trees in this jungle. With my pants tucked into my socks we decided to have a look for this cache but it looks to have been taken with a flood that's been through here. Interesting area
Geo wife found this one she was very exited. Took geocheese coin sl. came out here at Easter last year love it then but now Iam a geocacher and know about caches it has made the place even better thanks Wombat for the cache
Lovely little spot for a picnic. We were briefly swamped with muggles on a bush bicycle ride, resplendent in reflective vests.
Be careful of the nettles and you reach for this one - there is dock weed growing nearby as a remedy.
Dropped of a Cheesy GC amongst the Cabbage Tree Palms.

Thanks Wambot. Great spot for a cache. I would have walked right past this when I was here a few years ago before I got into Geocaching.
SL, TNLN We have 3 new apprentice cachers with us and I think they are starting to get the hang of it.

Found this easily after a quick search. The mosquitos are extremely friendly. Nice walk though.
3761.[font=Book Antiqua][purple]Walked to within 7m and then stopped as it didn't seem right that the cache would be off the track. Wandered away to find a seat and read the logs. So went back to the spot where we first stopped and FFP made the (then) quick find. Nice walk and a cache - contented sigh.

What a fun nightmare. GPS put me 20 metres off the track, so criss crossed for 30 minutes through tall thick soft fern, then decided with such a name it might be near the chair. Stood on the damn thing on the edge of the track. Guessing somebody will find that funny. No damage to box and is about 20 metres from seat. TNLN
Finally found the cache after read the comment - Wambot's comment said [black]"Cache is now accessible without leaving the track. At the base of a palm."[/black] It make me easy found it so quick....Beauty area - enjoyed walk along to the cache... No swap. SL. Thanks Wambot for organising the cache and hunt.
Gave this one a red hot go but couldn't find it. Had a good look around where logic told me it should be however no luck. The GPS was bouncing me around by a good ten meters and the closest I could get was about 5 meters. Spent a considerable amount of time thrashing about in the undergrowth trying to locate it but couldn't find anything at all remotely like the poem. Finally my six year old daughter said enough is enough, so we had to give it away and crawl back to the car battered, bruised and covered in mozzie bites. (Not to mention totally deflated.)
Nice spot though, despite the mozzies.

I'd had this on a list to do a while back but not gotten to it. I wasn't going to this time either until I saw the road and went for it. Glad I did as this is an interesting spot and well worth a cache, thanks Wambot.
This must be mozzie central, the mother load where all mozzies start life !! A great spot for something unusual for Victoria. Cache find proved to be easier than originally thought. TFTC SL TNL Blood a plenty.

Found this one on a rainy afternoon coming back from Orbost on our way to Marlo. The new coords. worked well just need to be a bit smart on how you get to them. Left a metal moon design and took stamps. An isolated area which was muggle free but very beautiful. Watch for mossies as they are about. TFTC

[Heavy cover makes getting a steady reading difficult. Location is an average reading. But cache now easier to find], and near the track.
Unless some news on the new location is forthcoming this one should probably go.

Original path into cache is overgrown, so have moved it to a more accessible location. New Co-ords will be posted soon.
This one took some finding. My gps was about 12 metres off the mark and the overgrown state of this made for a very lucky find when i had all but given up. Cache was surprisingly dry. TNLNSL

Nice little spot, and fantastic palm trees. Had a bit of trouble finding this one. Had the whole geo Family looking backwards and forwards, under and over, in and then out. We looked at the palm and thought no way!! But alas after the gentle striding through head high Bracken there it was.
This one deffinatly needs to be moved due to the over grown nature of the flora and the mass amount of leeches!!! Things in the cache are a little mouldy but generally dryish.
TNLN Thanks for taking us to this unique spot.

This is an amazing spot! It is so much like a tropical forest (especially with mozzies and all!) Thanks for bringing us here!

It's still there. There's been a slight bit of cache creep, but well within the accuracy of the coords, so we left it where it was.
Survived the floods fine - everything's dry. TNLN.

we tried to find the cache yesterday but couldn't find it. the area was under a major flood last week and we wern't sure if it had been washed away. track was pretty muddy. went at dusk and eventually ran out of light. slept on the clues last night and read a few of the other comments - if it is still there i reckon we'll find it straight away.
This one proved to be the most difficult for the day. From the picnic ground I was tempted to head bush, but luckily I checked out the path and made my way to the caching zone. EPE was high, and after looking for the cache where it pointed, it pointed elsewhere.
This was repeated over and over again, with the GPS roaming over quite a distance. As a last ditched effort, I checked previous logs and hit upon a hint given by tristi_woerz. Using this, I headed to a spot not yet searched and was able to grab the cache within a minute or two. Thanks for the cache and for showing me this great area.
Final tally - one cache and 5 leeches (that I know of), plus the sensation of several other phantom leeches throughout the next hour or two.

We found this one a little hard, possibly because the clues were a little too cryptic for us. (I finally figured it out when I was typing up this log).
After a sweeping search of the area, and following the cache highway, we finally located the cache.
T:N
L: Screwdriver and a car.
Thanks Wambot for bringing us to this area.
PS, we removed a small can of baked beans from the cache - as food isn't a suitable swap item.

Another DNF for me this weekend. I had a total of 4 DNF's this weekened all in this region. I hope there are not serial mugglers around. Anyway it was a nice drive in. I have been here before and will come again to try and find this one.

This was our second attempt at this cache; we were not going to let it beat us this time! We found it quite quickly which was great as it was raining.

After a dissaster of a DNF cache earlier we were worried that we may have not been able to find this cache after about 15 mins of searching.
The problem was noted that we had an EPE of 55 metres and both GPS units were recieving only three satelites and reading 2D.
We decided to wait for a few minutes and after a quick reboot the GPS's pointed in a different direction. The cache was found quickly and logged before we set off for another cache expedition.
Thanks for the cache Wambot, a fascinating area worth visiting.
Regards Mr.Coffee and the "a straightforward hint would save some time for those like us who travel a long way and would like to find the cache" Clan.

Well to can rest assured that the cache is absolutely fine and dandy. We went for a drive whilst staying at Marlo to nab the cache and it didn't take to long and Mr S'Downer had it in hand. The water was over the track in one part so off came the socks and shoes, and boy was it cold. The things we do for geocaching!! Thanks for a great stroll through and interesting part of the country. TNLN
We drove past the cache site - and the water has come up again!
This time the whole site is completely flooded
I suspect the cache will have been carried away with the flood water, which is flowing quickly through the clearing. We will come back as soon as the waters go down for a search and rescue.

Thanks Tristi, for taking care of the cache while floodwater put it at risk of inundation.

We put the cache back in the same place. Good luck finding it.

Due to significant 'rising damp', (i.e. flood), this cache is currently offline and is being kept dry and warm by a local geocacher. When conditions improve, 'Things of Metal and Wood' will be reinstated.

There has been stacks of rain in the upper catchments of this creek and as a result there is heaps of water around. We eventually found the cache very close to the water, which was still rising. The cache had water in it and the log book was too fragile to write on. We made an executive decision to remove the cache until the water subsides. We replaced the container (as the metal lid had been compromised and no longer sealed) and the log book. We were able to save the logbook entries, and taped them into the new log book. We will replace the cache in exactly the same place when it's clear it will be safe.

Up this morning with the brand new GPS. New to geocaching we are both very excited. It was even more exciting because some of our friends said they would race us to the cache as they had never been to this particular cache. Was a nice drive, got very close to the location and there was water over the road (we have recently had quite a bit of rain) managed to cross it in a two wheel drive so there were no problems. Got onto the waking track close to the location only to find the walking track was covered in water as well. Managed to get around, got a little wet though. The GPS told us we were ONE METER away from the cache but did not have any luck finding it. I guess we were not looking hard enough. We will return when it is a bit drier. Had a great morning.
Nice and close to home! Found this cache after a short search! Also found a very friendly leech! Cache was slightly damp, dried it out as best I could. Took mouldy piece of wood/cork! Left 2 Dynabolts. Many Thanks Wambot!
We searched and searched and searched and just did not find this one. We were convinced we knew where we should look too! Oh well, maybe another time. Lovely spot, nice and quiet, there so long looking we saw a Wombat. Not sure if you are supposed to leave the path, but there is a very ugly trail in the making quite close to where we thought we should be.
Visited this cache while driving home to Melbourne from Easter holidays in Merimbula. It took us over an hour to find the cache. We were nearly going to give up, but kept persisting. We were searching totally in the wrong area as gps was all over the shop due to tree coverage. Finally looked somewhere we never thought it would be and come up trumps. We were happy and relieved after all the searching that we didn't have to log it as a dnf.

Our first cache of the morning on a sunny but brisk autumn day, we had no luck at the first attempt with the gps being les than helpful so back to the car to read the page again. We went back with new found enthusiasm to search in a slightly different location but still no luck and were about to call it a DNF and noticed the phone had reception and rang the ever helpful Macccamob help line and with another snippet of information we went back for a third time lucky Found it18 metres from where the gps'r was telling us. The tree cover must be playing havoc today

Found the cache after a few minutes of looking. GPS wasn't too happy under the canopy. I liked the clue about the wrist. I'm starting to like this treasure hunting thing. Cache number 2 for us. Took nothing, left a bulldog clip.
There is plenty of mozzys thats for shaw.Nice little spot.Sportfisher

Was there at 12.30 hrs. In heavy rain my gps pointed 12 mtrs left of track to a tall tree.Did not leave the track-too nice a vegetation. Could not find it along the track either-nice forest!
Thanks anyway,

Found 13:50, after a short search. A very interesting location that we would not otherwise have visited, thanks to Wambot for enticing us here TNLN
Unfortunately for us we couldn't find this one... We spent a good 30 minutes here but couldn't get our eyes or hands on the cache... I'd say it's probably there but we just couldn't see it... Anyway, no doubt we will return again another day when we next visit the area!

Cor Blimey! Think we read far too much into this one, mind you, after the first leech hooked on, our minds were a little distracted! As we couldn't get a steady reading we set our minds to finding wrists and palms... When we did finally realize the error in our ways (the blurriness was induced by the mossie bites, leeches, and the stinging nettles, all of which have led me to the conclusion, WEAR TROUSERS!) it was an easy find, although the elderly couple and their video camera have probably called the police, so expect the drug squad to be there when you visit.
Took the slinky, left some tweezers to pull off the leeches.
Awesome wee area, thanks Wambot.

Found at 8.00pm after a lengthy search,
I must have walked the track 3 times.
With heavy rain, fern tree cover, an EPE of 43m!!! it wasn't easy.
Had to use the hint in the end, after that took 5 mins.
I camped nearby, lovely spot,
No exchange made
Thanks Wambot

Found by Mary & David at 1025. Saw a male lyrebird and heard the bellbirds and whip birds on the way to GZ. Loved reading all about the local flora on the sign at the car park. We had been here many many years ago and it was good to return. Bushland looking so green and lush after the recent rain, but thankfully no mozzies or march flies about. Not too hard to find once the GPSr settled. Took block of dark wood, left a small metal slinky. Our thanks to Wambot.
