I have decided to archive this one since it's been muggled.

11-Jan-07
Searched and searched. Red bricks and blocks. No luck, but did chat to some interesting people. Is it still there?? Last four searchers fared just as well as me. Lovely day tho' No wind.

11-Jan-07
Cache disabled - it seems to be missing.

17-Dec-06
We searched and searched in all the most likely spots and unlikely spots. The non-geocachers got bored with us on this one.

17-Dec-06
Sad to say had no more success than the previous few cachers to visit this site. With a couple of hours to spare before the boat trip back we searched all the likely and unlikey places determined to find it if it was there. There is a lot of search evidence over quite a large area from all these visits this week. GPS readings were up to 20m variance at times.

16-Dec-06
Looked in all the likely places, with a team of geocachers but did not find this one. Maybe muggled?
Long-John

16-Dec-06
Caching with long_john and didn't find it, but found lots of likely empty spots.

16-Dec-06
Had a look in all the likely spots, but couldn't find it.

16-Dec-06
Looks like this one is probably missing.
Did any of you look amongst the red bricks?

14-Dec-06
had a bit of trouble with GPS accuracy, spent soem time looking but unable to locate cache

11-Sep-06
Had a lovely day out on the island after a quick kayak from cass bay. Lots of long grass made this one a little harder than it looks! TNLN.

11-Mar-06
Found this cache while on a pirate treasure hunt with William(4) and Scott(2).

Cache in good condition. TFTC!

+ coloured stone

Continuing walk around quail island with this find.

03-Feb-06
It was indeed in the bricks, had fun finding it.

29-Jan-06
Nice find but my gps was putting my out by about 20m but I found it after a quick look round.

Thanks

11-Jan-06
did all 5 on Quail island in 1 hour 20 minutes - GPS pointed straight to it - thanks

11-Jan-06
nice one the name really does say it all - thanks

29-Dec-05
Well, the name really says it all. Had to wait for a trio of muggles to pass on before finishing the log entry, but another nice, easy cache find on a lovely summer day.
Just thought I would mention that it now costs $15 per adult for the ferry to Quail Island. Think it's been awhile since it was under $10. Still well worth it, though.

yes it was... TNLN.

11-Nov-05
GPS was going a little nuts with the tree cover overheard so we ditched it, applied a little common sense and found the cache pretty easily.

- monkey
+ lobster

24-Sep-05
Yep, the name said it all. Easy find, with not a muggle in sight. But it makes you think about what kind of life those poor lepers had, watching the months and years pass by.
No swaps, cheers, Grandalf

16-Apr-05
GPS was having a bit of a hard time having just changed the batteries while still under the trees. Nandor's approach soon had it found anyway. Note: the price of the ferry is set to increase to $15 in October 2005. Also, the regular service only runs until April before stopping for the winter. Sarah and Kanika were also along for the hunt.

16-Apr-05
GPS coords were rather dodgy - name helped out in the end though.

03-Apr-05
2 of 6. Took a bit of looking as the GPS reception was a bit weak, and there were lot of bricks. A find for for Joanne.
- blue glitter + monkey

Third and final cache for today, decided to do the other 3 in this area another time as it's a good excuse to visit again. Quite a large number of bricks about really and no good GPS coverage in this particular area so we spent awhile poking about. No swaps. Cool

26-Feb-05
Sixth one today.
Gary kayaked over, while Liz and Oli took the boat.
Liz went ahead to find this one, while Gary went via the top of the hill - but came to see where it was anyway.
TNLN - thanks! BTW - did you get my email?

26-Feb-05
On the home straight now - #5 of 6 caches. Easy find. Quick stop - wife's waiting but the boat won't. From the log I realised that the KiwiLegend team were on the wharf when I arrived on the island but I never recognised them. TNLN. Thanks Moneydork.

16-Feb-05
2nd find on my clockwise walk round the island in the wake of Riddlers76. TNLN (Posted by cellphone at 23:10-GMT)

29-Jan-05
Found this cache on a trip to Quail Island. Nice spot for a cache. Always intended to go to Quail Island and Geocaching gave us a reason.

29-Jan-05
Yay - another fun Quail island cache. This was the 3rd of 5 that myself and my friends ridders76 did on the island today. Really enjoyed it. Took the cool fire-breathing dinosaur - oh, I mean, LED light emiting from mouth dinosaur, and replaced with a shaker tube of blue glitter.
Thanks team Moneydork.

We took the day trip to Quail Island today and found this cache on our circuitous wanderings. Sad to think the bird the island was named after the native quail is no longer with us. It must have been slower moving than the ones commonly seen around the Peninsula.
Took brandy label, left dinosaur torch keyring
Thanks Moneydork

An easy find, first find for the day and on the island. Co-ords were off by about 20m. Otherwise an easy find. Not really hidden to well.
Cheers

We went for a family day out on Quail Island.
It was a great day for a walk around the Island but we ran out of time so only got a couple of caches done.
Nice quick find as soon as we spotted the area.

Been waiting for a while to do this one. It was a nice day so we took a picnic lunch and the family out to the Island. Found the cache quickly so we could then enjoy the peace around us. Thanks Moneydork

Decided to come over to Quail Island while out on the boat. Found this one pretty easily. The GPS was a wee bit out, but the hint explainted everything. Now onto "In The Bricks"

19-Sep-04
Next cache on the list, we got in the ballpark quickly, but had a little trouble with GPS reception. Circled around, got into some trees, and then found some likely candidate spots, looked at the hard ones first, then drew back and immediately saw it. Called PBL over who found it quicker than me, then we pulled it out and logged it. Left a new US nickel commemorating the Louisiana Purchase. Took nothing. Cheers Gav [238]

A boy's day out, with Papa Bear_Left and rediguana.

A brisk but sunny day, quite pleasant when out of the lazy southerly winds. We were both following little GPSr arrows around in circles, then I called across "Looks like it's settling down to where you are." He looked smug and said "D'ya reckon?"
OK, I can take a hint, so I went over to the spot and re-found it (at least I did _that_ quicker than him!) and we both signed the log.
How do you come up with these outlandish names, MD?

25-Apr-04
Dalmore and I were in the area so he searched and I watched and didn't let on that I knew where it was. Interesting watching him make the same mistakes that I made!

Excellent day! As usual I managed to follow a couple of red herrings, but then had success. Nice day on the water today coming over, so will put a shot of that in the gallery. Took soap, left ceramic bottle tag and a butterfly. Thanks Moneydork.
PS also checked out Wards place - alas it has indeed gone, although the thistles remain. Rod M

11-Apr-04
I can't believe I am the first to find this cache! It might be the one and only time I am the first to find a cache so I'm elated.
No exchange as I didn't take anything but a GPS and the paper with me.
It is the most beautiful sunny day and 13 deg, but the forecast was for rain.
Kayaked over with friends, lots of people on the water but nobody on the island.
Thanks Moneydork
