Went on a big adventure with Wafflekitties and geo pups, had a blast thanks for the memories! TFTC.
Found while on holiday in the South Island with LCBuilder and our two geodogs. We spent 3 weeks travelling down the east coast and then up the west coast, moving to a different campsite each night. We got a few geocaches along our way; our best day was 41 and our worst was 6 we saw a lot of awesome sights and will definitely have to come back one day!
This one was not the nicest cache to get to, very wet and rough ground. Easy find though, TFTC!

Out for a drive with my eldest son and husband. First stop Darfield Bakery. Nom nom. Next stops geocaches. I was a bit worried when I read previous logs about blackberry. They were there but manageable. Thanks for bringing us here.
I was fortunate enough to be able to squeeze an 11 day holiday out of two leave days!! I headed out west to find some caches, see some sights, and relax before the madness of the semester hits. The weather was unbelievably good, only a bit of a storm over Arthur's Pass on the first day, otherwise hot and sunny. I found a great variety of caches, drive by's, walks, hikes, even a power trail. Thank you to all the CO's for their great hides!!!
After a full on day yesterday conquering Mt Bealey and swimming across lake Pearson a leisurely drive back to Geraldine today picking up a few P and G s along the way was a good plan.
taking the back roads to 72 grabbing a few more on the way
no gum boots needed today more like a chainsaw had to clamber over fallen trees to retrieve the cache tftc

On my way home after another wonderful MEGA weekend.
Made the diversion to collect this and the one at the school.
Challenging blackberry in sandals!
A lovely new dry log sheet - thanks Aslan.

Came home from my morning bike ride and it was snowing quite hard...sweeeet. Right boys - who wants to go find some snow & go tabogganning?! Had an early lunch, packed snacks, taboggans, change of clothes and we headed out just past Springfield....sweet farmers field, gentle slope & lots of other family's. Great early arvo fun. Thick powdery snow. Once the boys had had enough, back to the car, get changed, warm up...more food...then a bit of a detour on the way home.
Quick find and sign in amougst the snow. Log book sodden and frozen. Nothing on hand to fix. Cheers.

Mr Sharpe was going to the wrong tree, then Mrs Sharpe directed him to the right one. Quick find. Thanks!
Took a bit to find a path through the Blackberry. Easy find once there. TFTC
Found in my sandals and managed to get through the prickly things in one piece.
No ducks but the log is WET.

Should have read description before venturing in. Didn't have my willies on so got my shiny blue shoes a bit muddied up. Found the cache, logbook saturated. May need to be changed. TFTC.
More like Shrek's Paradise. Well we found it but the box was on the ground and sopping wet so we couldn't sign the log book. I don't think whatever lives here likes having a box in his house going by the number of times it has ended up on the ground.
Took a bit of searching with Mr Agogo giving advice from the road while I had to negotiate the blackberry and the mud!! Looked in several likelt places and then found lying on the ground in the open. Replaced to the most likely looking hole and covered with local camo material. Hope it stays put but it will certainly be drier in this spot.
Would have helped if we had headed to the correct tree. GPS seemed a bit vague saying 8m to cache wherever we stood.
Yeeeooowwww!!! This was a bit off the beaten track. I was on a wee mission today to reach my 900th milestone and needed a few more to meet the numbers. I made a wee detour on my detour and happened upon this cache. I parked about 9m from GZ and looked up the wrong tree twice before realising I need to go off piste. I chose my path carefully and didn't need to trudge through the mud. I got to the right spot and found the hidey hole, argh no cache. I looked around and found it on the ground. I signed the damp log and replaced it and put some of natures camo around the cache, hopefully it'll keep it in place. I couldn't see any ducks unless they were the elusive swap dwelling tree ducks of legend. All I got was a few prickles in my britches. Thanks for the cache.

A quick find and no problem keeping my feet dry even without gumboots. Really surprised i hadn't made the visit before.

The natural bridge was very handy! Found the cache on the ground below it's hidey hole, but luckily it was all OK. Back in place now. TFTC
Relogging this under individual account, previously a member of Gaz'n'Kab account.
We spotted this one from the road and then made our way carefully to GZ to add our names to the log. Kab was disappointed not to see any duck out here today but at least we found the cache

Read about wearing Gummies, just as well,as it was a bit wet,in there, and it was Raining. Will keep them on for the rest of the day.TFTC
Got to GZ and went to the wrong tree, getting a wet foot in the process! Back tracked and went to the right tree for a quick find. Thanks for the hide.
Quick drive by, very wet today and no gumboots but a strategically placed log helped keep the feet dry while retrieving. Tftc
TFTC. The cache was seen from across the road and so I made steady progress across the "bridge" to retrieve it. All in good order.
A quick find this afternoon, made good use of the new natural bridge to the cache so that I didn't get my feet wet. Signed log, TFTC
A good scramble. Lots of rain so needed tree to climb on. Very little in cache, so made some donations.
TFTF Branch that cache hidden has broken and has made a nice bridge
just walk up and grab!( may need a look at as in plain veiw from road)

Those suggested coords for parking are so important. Managed the find dry and unscratched. Actually rather a good hiding spot. At some time in the past this must have been a useful entrance. Thanks.
This would have been my 3rd or 4th visit since I started caching. Has always been elusive. The new placement is certainly a lot less muddy and easier and not 30m out like the previous. Glad to finally put this to rest. Thanks Phew!!!
After a trip down a road to nowhere, we found the right track and managed to locate the cache easily. Took TB - will zoom it into another cache soon TFTC
Found this cache on a day trip in the car from Christchurch, west along Old West Coast Road, up to Oxford then back down into Christchurch going north of the Waimak, a big loop. By now my pants were ripped up the front, my legs are bleeding and I'm soaking wet from the waist down - it was a good start to the day. This cache was number 6 of 27 for today. Google maps managed to send me down the wrong road, tried to make me drive through a river, that wouldn't have gone well. TFTC (502)

Once I found a safe park the cache was very easy, maybre the water level has dropped post quake.

We have had this one on our list for sometime. At last we got round to doing it. It wasn't hard at all. TFTC
We nearly didn't bother to stop here - do we really want to go into a swamp, without gumboots, when it has been raining? W.E.K.A.'s log prompted us to try it, and the cache was found without too much trouble at all. TFTC.

We have passed this cache previously at a time when there seemed to be a lot of DNFs, so we didn’t attempt it then, however today it was a quick easy find, which we even managed to reach without getting wet feet. TFTC
At last.... I have had about 4 attempts at this one and finally today I spotted the cache as soon as I stepped out of the truck. No where near where I looked the last few time,, Glad to finally have this one off my list. TFTC. Cheers Bo
So THIS is what duckshooters like! Quick find, managed to avoid the blackberries! TFTC.
Was a tad concerned my sandels and shorts may not be suitable attire, but it turned out to be fine ! Thanks for the cache
all good the first test finder reports that all is on gummboots still recomended
Finally!!! After two years we finally found this cache and it was good that it was closer to the road. TFTC

Went to check the cache again today at the moment im unable to replace it due to the water levels at its location and the fact that i forgot my gumboots i will be heading bk down there in the next couple of weeks and will rember to take my boots , it should be up in running then i have checked the area throughly after the latest quake and apart from the high water levels it is safe enought to be replace and this will be done in due course.
OK, what is going on? Over a year and no action? Maybe time to archive this cache....
visited the area today the cache box had sliped dowin inside the tree trunk and was missing its lid , recovered the log book and pencilhave disabled it till i cna replace the comtainer watch this space!
Had a discussion with LaVista yesterday and tried it again. Found the tree, climbed up and could not find the cache. A very deep hole where you could not see or feel the ground. Has it fallen through? Is it still there?
For us it is not a cachers paradise, don't know much about duck shooting....

Found the spot on the spoiler which was about 30m away from my GPS GZ but still no cache.
Visited today must have just missed the other cachers but yes it is still there and intact althought the area is kind of wett lol u will nedd gum boots at this time of year he he good luck
OK, we had the gumboots and needed them, but next time we have to take the photo with us as well. As other logs say the coords are a bit out, so have to try again. And do not forget your gumboots!
This was very very frustrating . Full of dead trees all which had hidey holes. So finally gave up in disgust.
maybe another day
maybe another day
My second time in this place and buggered if I can locate it. I found the dead animal ok , Hunted high and low in and around anything that looked like a hole, but obviously not the right one lol. not much water around in here at the moment either. Bugger. I will be back. Cheers Bo
This was the second hunt in the woods for this cache, this time there wasn't too much water around. Unfortunately, there was a rather dead and smelly sheep at the base of the tree my GPS was thinking was GZ (same spot as last time). So, after 30 mins of hunting in ever widening circles and getting tangled up in blackberry I resorted to a grainy copy of the spoiler photo - a process of elimination for another 15 mins and success! The GPS had me 26m from GZ, so results obviously vary! Keep trying folks, it is in there and it's nice and dry. TNLN Thanks.
I have been keeping and eye on this with some interest. How hard could it be[?]
I was coming back from Dragons loft and thought I might give it a go.[8)]
There is some recently smashed up willow near the obvoius place to park so that helped gain access to the swamp. There was a river flowing through it but I picked my way over that and followed the GPS to the right tree, GZ may have been 6-7m out but there was a very obvious hiding place looking at me and there it was I certainly didnt leave a TB there though. All up I was out of the car for five minutes my feet are still basicly dry.
Thanks for not archiving this,

It's pretty depressing in that area - when people report it could be 50m out. Not nice at all.
Spent ages looking, not a very nice place for a cache anyway. Only three logs since dec 2006 and all DNF maybe this one is due for an archive.
Been there over the weekend the cache was in its hiding place undisterbed have replenished it if it can't be found in the next month.
IT will be archived and removed

I thought I would check this one out while passing but after 40 minutes of looking and I am sure I had the right place or mabe not, but no luck on this cache, cheers
This is one of those 'why here' caches. Couldn't get a good lock, ground a mess, swampy, boggy and a myriad of hiding places, none of which revealed the cache. In the end we retreated. Aaargh!
Spent about 40 mins looing at every tree I could find because most of that area is under water. Luckily, the gummies saved the wet feet, but didn't help find the cache. GPS seemed to zone in on a tree in the middle but no lock at all. Will try again after someone hopefully finds it Thanks.
Made this harder than required. The water up to the knees was rather refreshing at the time though. Came back a second time to find this. Was better off without a GPS and just going by the spoiler photo. TNLN Thanks.
Seeker36 and i were going to give this one a miss, due to the previous log entries. However, we decided to take a look even though i was not dressed for a swap adventure.
To our suprise we found it within a minutes of starting. I can only assume those of you who have had difficulty with this one entered the swap to soon. We used the road to get as close a we could to the cache before entering the swap.
Great hiding place.
