Sax64 and I came with Banjo and Boston to dogs day out at Floriade and today not many near this spot so great opportunity to find it and light. Great spot container and log in great nic. Tftc Tankengine a favourite from me
Couldnt find it. Think that it might have been taken by a muggle mistaking it for litter. (Either that or Im blind XD)
Bisoutje and I are on a roadtrip with a campervan between Cairns and Adelaide and have now touched ground in the capital Canberra. We scheduled for 1 full day here to be able to see and experience the city. It was a cold day but the many interesting Geocaches we found during the day made up for it. We saw many interesting buildings and enjoyed walking through several parks and along the river. This was a quick find. The creek contains no water today. A fact that both the rabbits and myself used today.TFTC!
Caching day in Canberra I arrived last night and got the virtual at the airport which gave me a cache in very state and territory in Australia in 5 months. So today was all about numbers wont know untilI complete my logs how well I did but I walk 19.5 km. Off to my event soon TFTCThis was also a lucky find as the area around have been cleared
I had searched most of the immediate area with no luck and things were looking grim, but then it was found. If only I had started there first! There was a bit of a break in the cold spell today and the sun was out much earlier and things warmed up, even though the temperature only got to 13 degrees. We had been keen to ride our bikes round Lake Burley Griffin so today was the day. We only made it to the Farmer's Market on our first attempt then had to return to the van with our purchases! With that done it was back out to firstly catch the tram into town and then the ride round the lake. On our way round we picked up a variety of caches, trads, multis, puzzles and quite a number of Virtuals. Some were straightforward while others challenging.Lunch at the National Portrait Gallery was welcome. We made it home just as the sun was settingThank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Tankengine.**SKI Pair****
Out on a date night and thought we would find this cache as part of a beautiful walk no pen so we couldn't fill it out but worth the walk beautiful spot Justin and Laura
Im out tonight after work, still collecting clues for a multi cache. Ive picked up a few other caches in the area while here. This one took longer than it should have because I misread the clue. That will teach me to put my specs on! Thanks for the cache, Tankengine.
Minor detour off the main lake path, to find this fun cache in a lovely back corner of the park. TFTC.
Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Back in Canberra for ANZAC day. With a late morning start we were on the bikes through EPIC to the light rail then the plan was to ride between the bridges of Lake Burley Griffin but alas too many caches and too little time so another day at least to finish that task. Bit of a breeze today so whilst sunny it was still a little cool. some lengthy search didnt help with our time management. We saw at least 2 school groups cycling around the lake, lucky for us they were going the other way, whilst we were stopped having lunch. TFTC Tankengine
After an adventure at the castle playground, we nabbed this one nice and easily. A two decade old cache! Wow!TFTC!
so cool to find a cache thats 2 decades old. must be a REALLY good hiding spot! TFTC!
Since I'm in Canberra for Mega, I've enjoyed seeing many places as well as the warm weather. Here's one to find today. Thank you for placing the cache Tankengine.
With a D1T5 CITO on in Canberra I decided that today I would do a day trip over. Johno, why didnt you just stay a little longer over there after the Geobash? Because I had things to do at home and wanted some time with my [muggle] family and friends during my annual leave. So I made my way over there and after having breakfast, I headed off to go Geocaching. Due to the bad weather, I decided it was going to be a great day to find those caches within high muggle areas. It was a great idea because there wasnt any muggles around. Yes, I got very wet throughout the morning and once it was about 1pm I started to dry off, because the rain stopped. I then found a couple of more caches before heading to the CITO. Once at the CITO, it was great fun cleaning up the pond and catching up with everyone. I then headed off to get dinner and afterwards headed home. TB visit. A big thanks to the CO for adding this cache to game for the Geocaching community to enjoy. TFTE & TFTCs! While it was still raining walked round Commonwealth Park collecting the high muggle area geocaches. All of them were quick finds and have been replaced ready for the next finder. It was a little hard getting to GZ of this cache due to all the council fences around. However, I did manage to find a way that didn't involve jumping or crossing the fences. A great spot for a cache and it was great to find such a old cache. It was originally hidden about 20 years ago. Thanks and now off to the next one.
2/4/2024 Find #6965The final day in Canberra for KBreeAHH, Captain Terror and me, and we were going to pack it with caching before handing the hire car back and relaxing in the lounge at the airport. Having been up as far as Murrumbateman and then Yass this morning, we were now back down in Canberra for our final caches. We had decided to do a walking circuit around here to complete our mission. Only I needed to find this one, and we headed over to GZ where I found the cache nice and quickly, safely tucked away. Thanks for the cache Tankengine.
Found while staying at Canberra the Mega event. It's a pleasure walking around this area to retrieve a lot of caches. It was raining in the morning. However, the cloud started to clear up for the rest of the day. Tankengine, thank you so much for placing it for everyone to enjoy and highlighting this area.
Woo hoo - found it. Thanks for bring me to this garden area. Would have continued riding around the other big lake if it wasn't for finding a cache.
Found 31 Mar 2024 at 12:20:43pmOut and about on a cycling tour of part of Lake Burley Griffin with Team_Crumble in a beautiful sunny day. We cycled about 20km today, picking up a few caches as we went. Many thanks to Tankengine for placing Commonwealth Creek for us all to find
We heard about a Mega in Canberra a year ago. Having never been to the big capital, we booked our accommodation and the planning began.Which caches shall we do? Wow they really love their mystery caches in ACT! Ok, we need to get our thinking caps on and solve some of these puzzles pronto. We have made the trek from Adelaide to be here and appreciate the efforts of all those involved to make the Capital Geobash happen. We have hired bikes to ride around the lake today.
Massive caching days continue. My online logs do not match with days found simply because I cant keep up with online logging sorry. My alliance of 5 all from WA are three young fit boys and two less young ladies who try to keep them honest. We have been up trees and ladders way more than I like and, like all geocachers who insist on wearing shorts in hot weather, our legs are ripped to shreds from hiking. Logging WAC since the three boys usually cache with a fourth called the Cockburn Crew based on their LGA. Having an almost totally cleared map locally, its difficult to explain the excitement of having a map that has caches literally everywhere. Ive cached in Canberra once with my partner and also at the Queanbayen mega but theres still so many to find. Long days and during the few hours allocated to sleep Im so sore I barely sleep anyway. Thanks so much for your contribution to making the days so exhausting and enjoyable. Much appreciated!
Over here for Capital GeoBash Mega. One of many hidden caches all over the city and surrounds for Mega Day weekend. Night caching while muggles largely locked away, TFTC
As part of the tour group, we walked a ton of miles and signed all the caches as LT2. I can honestly say I was one of the slowest in the group so I often arrived after the cache had been found and signed. At least they let me see where it went. LOLThank you for the smiley and the fun!The day:Today was day 3 of my time in Canberra for the GeoBash Mega from the U.S. and getting to spend time with my friends. Hooray! It was another day that started with an awesome tour around Lake Burley Griffin. The weather was warm and the cachers were friendly. We were led by tankengine, one of the cachers who had a hand in the gadget caches at the mega, has awesome mysteries and other caches in the area. He kept us moving the entire time and we were able to get all the caches on our list. Then I attended the mega which was a lot of fun. There were so many people! The gadget caches were amazing, the adventure labs were fun, and the evening get together for trivia was a blast. Many thanks to all the geocachers who placed and continue to maintain their geocaches for folks like me to find. I know it's not always easy, but know that I appreciate you.
A nice quick find while doing some legwork today before going to the War Memorial to finish off yesterdays forays. Eventually ending up at the Geobash Mega site for more activities.TFTC

Exciting times over the next couple of weeks as we takeoff for the Capital GeoBash in Canberra! Its going to be a flood of Sandgropers over east, with a host of West Aussies making the trek east for the event. Im travelling with fellow Cockburn Crew members Leg5 and Barnzy12, starting in Sydney and hitting the road to Canberra, before returning back to Sydney. Honourary mention to our fellow member, Cravo10, who couldnt make it after recently introducing a new geocacher to the world the week prior. Once in Canberra, the agenda is set, well team up with a host of Western Australians to conquer caches. Collectively, were hoping to make it the biggest ever weekend for cache finding. Following the event, the journey continues back to Sydney, with a mission to clean up caches and new Local Government Areas (LGAs), ensuring no cache is left unturned in this epic geocaching adventure. Something tells me that well need a holiday after this, well, holiday. All logs have been signed as WAC to save space, abbreviation for Western Australia Crew. Cheers Tankengine! Join us in Augusta, in Western Australias South West, for WA Goes Big 2024 (GCAGV8Y) on Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September. Log your will attend now!

Cockburn Crew on tour to the Canberra Mega. Day 1 involved a bunch of caching around Sydney before making our way to Canberra for the Capital Geobash. We found a huge variety of caches, and its great to cache in new territory that we havent explored much in the past. Unlike our home state of Western Australia where we have found just about anything and everything.A beautiful day with great weather and even better company. Thank you to the local COs for a great day in and around this great country of ours.

Embarking on a week long mega adventure in the ACT and its picturesque surrounds, I've teamed up with an enthusiastic West Aussie crew: I C Nothing, Meme28, geotrakka, and Burns345, with the occasional cameo from neva2old. As we traversed territory, I was enthralled by the rich variety of caches this new hunting ground presented, turning each discovery into a memorable experience. Our group engaged in friendly competition at each stop to be the one to claim the find and shared countless laughs along the way.Together, we marked our triumphs in the logs as WA5, and on the rare occasion WA6.Thanks Tankengine for placing Commonwealth Creek for me and others to find.I added my name to the log at 16:33 on 27/3/2024.This is find number 8284 for me.

On our bikes today. We were suppose to be having a non caching day, going to visit the sister-in-law, however she had to cancel due to important client meetings. The price of being a small business owner. Hall was on the cards but we decided to leave that for another day and go into the lake, picking up what we could and adding a few Ad Labs.Total Caches Found 15676TFTC Tankengine

Very happy to be here for my first Mega event from WA. Out to fill my grid and find some high favourited caches. Lots of laughs catching up with old friends and making some new friends along the way. Signing as a team - WA6Some logs are delayed and out of order - Apologies for that- its been hectic trying to keep up! Many thanks Tankengine for placing this hide for me to find and adding to my adventures.
Wow, weirdest geocaching experience in my life. When we were down in Canberra for new years, we decided to look for some caches, this was number 2 along the lake. Anyway, waking up to GZ we just were so confused and gave up. It got weird when we were leaving, we walked past the dried up pond to a nearby bridge about 50m away from GZ. This is where we saw the cache there sitting on the handrail! I messaged the owner and placed the cache back in the general area around GZ. Im now quite annoyed I forgot a pen for this walk cause I found a fair few. Anyway, just Wow!TFTC, #176
