# 6232 - Found at 11:01, 1st of 20 finds today

I had never used this tunnel before today. What a brilliant experience! Thanks for bringing me here. They were filming in the tunnel today by the rings so I had to count quite quickly as I walked through. Hope I got it right!

I enjoyed the walk through this piece of living history. It was eerily quiet down here after all the traffic noise at ground level. Answers sent. Thanks for the virtual

Thanks for the great Virtual Cache. Smile

It it very interesting to walk under the Thames - especially when you realize how old the tunnel is. Somewhere you can see tiny leaks and nearer to the Greenwich side there are aslo stalaktites going down from ceeling Smile Just wait for several years (centuries Smile and it will be half human-half nature made cavern Smile

We walked from the south side and counted the rings. Ofcourse we went up on the north side for a look around. From the park we had a clear view to the appartment building we stay in.
This one was double fun. Not only a cache, but also a sonic wonder. (Sound Tourism)

8219 + 981 = 9200. Found with ACBC66 and AwesomeL during our European holiday…

Our last full day of the holiday and we spent most of the day at Greenwich. I have been here several times but this is the first time as a Cacher - so lots to do ! I targeted the 4 Virtuals and the Greenwich Gates Series. We caught the DLR to Island Gardens (glad it was running despite the Tube Strike) and walked through the tunnel - counting ! Sent to info to the CO and permission to log has been received.

Thanks Simply Paul ! I've been looking forward to doing this one for a few years ! A Favourite Point from Me !

TNLN – TFTC !!

Cheers from Australia….

After visiting Greenwich I though I'd take the DLR from the Island Gardens instead of the Cutty Sark, picking up this one along the way. Thanks a lot for leading me on this underwater tour of the Thames.

Our second day in Great Britain was occupied with visiting Greenwich. We had seen the royal observatory and the "Cutty Sark", walked three times up the hill to the observatory for the different caches we did and were close to get some sore feet. Being near the tunnel entrance we decided with our caching buddy Adsche that this virtual should be the last one for the day. So we got down with the elevator thus protecting Danis knees from overexertion. At the other side, but still down in the tunnel, we counted the needed thingies and noted the value for later use. Again we used the elevator to get to the daylight again. After some time looking around we went back to the other side through the tunnel again.

Thanks for leading us to this interesting place say

Dani, Pia and Erik.

We love historic places and this places gives an impression how it must have been with fewer bridges, no underground and boats that weren't as fast as the ThamesClipper.

I think without this cache we would have missed the experience of crossing the Thames river via the tunnel. It was somehow exciting for us Razz

Many thanks!

Noticed the tunnel a few days ago when I had breakfast in Greenwich on Sunday morning. So now I had an excuse to walk it. Not suprised there were no buskers in the tunnel - it's a bit cold. Thanks for the cache (and the excuse to walk under the Thames).

Found by Mary & David from Australia at 1210. Found the first bit of information then set off on the 'strange walk'. Mary didn't like that much, as there were a few areas of rust and dampness along the way. Quite relieved to get to the end. Had been here some years earlier, but the cache gave us renewed interest in the exhibits. Our thanks to Simply Paul for leading us along new pathways.

During our visit to London we made a trip to Greenwich, too. Ofcourse we did some cachers there. Sub-Aqua was on of them.

Greetings from Vienna / Austria!

Sadly, the lifts were both not working.... so that was FOUR sets of stairs in total!

We were visiting Greenwich (the parking just below the "mobile homes" is only £1/hr (£1.10 at weekends)) so decided to "take the exercise" to nab this cache.

Callum seemed to enjoy the acoustics during the walk.

Cheers!

Nice little cache, thanks. Remember that the Tom, Dick and Harry cache (GCG24W) makes it's way to this area too.

Thanks.
