My hubbie always wanted to see this amazing piece of engineering. What an amazing sight!!! Just a shame we couldn't go to the final waypoint due to closure of area by the authorities due to a safety issue. TFTC

We enjoyed checking out this engineering oddity and then our walk to GZ unfortunately we came away without finding the cache, judging by the number of DNFs before us it might be time to check on this one.
Thanks

Worked it all out and found ground zero, unfortunately after a good 20 minutes of searching we gave up. But thanks for taking us tourists to a pretty spot.
Unfortunately doubting cache is still here no finds recently. Great work on having the parking way point.
Such a lovely walk!

It said we were 4 meters away from cache when we were in the middle of the road??

What an amazing piece of equipment, and what a story behind it! It would have been very interesting to see this monster moving.
Once we finished gazing, we collected the necessary data to be able to calculate the coordinates for GZ. Headed out there and found a nice walk down to the river. The cache was quickly located, log signed and then back to the car. On the way back, we saw a Tawny Frogmouth sitting in a tree just close to the walk.

Kelligula and I took Lucy the wonder dog for a nice walk in the bush (and made some friends with the many, many spiders we discovered on our cache finding mission) and took photos of the magnificent Red Cliffs. TFTC
Wow! What an absolutely beautiful spot. We worked out these coordinates a while ago but never made it to the final destination. So glad we made the effort today. We went after dinner and it took us a while to navigate the spiders before RamaTim bravely spotted the cache. Lucy, the geocaching wonder dog was not help and was more interested in the troll living under the boardwalk. The cache was a bit light on for swaps so we left some toys and a Trackable. This was well worth the effort. TFTC!

After spending the night in nice city of Mildura we drove south towards Melbourne and stopped for a cache break now and then.
We just love this girl. And also the place for the container, thanks for showing both! FP given.
We found this cache during our vacation in Singapore and Australia. It all started last autumn when it was decided that the GP Speedway would end the season this year with a race in Melbourne. We decided to go and later plans expanded.
Thank you reverb for the cache and regards from Sweden!

Attempted at this one last night but as it was two dark and GPS was telling us fibs we were unable to find it. Very creepy walk at night! Went back this afternoon and even though it was really hot took us a little while to find but eventually found it. Please be careful where you put your body and hands.
Attempted to do this one last night in the dark, with two girls freaking out every two seconds thinking we were about to be murdered. After a quick search and many 'lets just come back in the light' I eventually gave in. A nice quick find in the light though
Day twenty of the short holiday with Bettyboo3747.
The last day of our holiday. Driving home from Mildura, just stopped to grab a few multi's for BB's month of multi's.
I have been to Big Lizzie before for caching, but it has been a while. While I remember her huge size, I certainly didn't recall the exact dimensions.
We read all the information then secured our required numbers. A bit of a detour for homeward bound cachers, but a lovely spot all the same.
Thanks, Robmc.

# 9538. Robmc and I are heading home from Mildura today but have a lot planned for the journey - to collect several multis and to collect a cache for a Road Atlas Challenge I am working on. This entailed a 100km detour. The day turns into a 10 hour trip, but a successful one.
As soon as I saw "She's a big powerful Girl" I knew where we were heading. I used to marvel at the size of her when I lived at Ouyen and used to drive to Mildura. She seemed even bigger today. We gathered the required information and wandered around her admiring her from all angles then off we went to GZ. This is a really lovely spot that I have never visited before. It started to drizzle just as we got to GZ so thankfully we didn't have to search for too long. A favourite point for me for the river views - I always love seeing the mighty Murray. Left one of my new Phryne - Rose pathtags today.
Thanks reverb

We visited her yesterday and collected the required information. Today we went for a walk and found the cache. Thanks reverb for the multi.
No matter how many times I see her, she never fails to impress. What raw power... it would be amazing to see her in action. Thanks for the fantastic view at GZ, we never get tired of seeing the different river vistas.
We found this cache on our trip to Adelaide with team Seffnjarah. A good time was had by all. Thanks for placing this geocache.
Day 16 of team Seffnjarah and team Mickjor's trip to Adelaide and beyond. On the homeward legs now.
I had spotted this cache pop up on my GPS as we neared town so we called in for a look. Certainly not what we expected to see and we were quite overwhelmed by the sheer size. Managed to find the necessary numbers and then went for a drive down to GZ. A short walk and a bit of exploration and the cache was located safe and sound. TFTC.

Great history lesson. Daughters enjoyed decoding. It took us to a gorgeous place i didn't know existed. Clever hide.
Darknstormy and i were camping in Mildura and we had many attractions to see and things to do so we planned some caching along the way
We looked at the markets here and took some photos of Big Lizzie and took in some sights of the murray

FurrAngel (Ex MissGG) and I were camping in Mildura, and thought we would look for caches at our attractions...
We came down to RedCliffs today to check out the local market.. as we ready lots of things would be open today.
Was great to read up about Big Lizzie and see some old photos.
Thanks for the cache Reverb and the end location, we wouldn't of seen such great sights with out doing this cache

Bogonghazy and I parked the car, and walked the last 230 metres to here today. The sun was out, so it was a pleasant day for a stroll. BH quickly spotted what we were seeking, we signed the log and replaced the cache. Thanks to reverb for bringing us to this spot. And for the cache.
Sully and I got the answers we needed and headed off to find this. Loved the walk here down and along the boardwalk, and an easy find as it was exposed from the above. Signed and tucked it in again. Thanks reverb, beautiful spot
If it was not for this cache we would never have known about this place. Thank you for bringing us here. We nearly bush bashed our way in, but kept driving around till we found the path. Thank you for this cache and showing us this spot.
Been to this machine before but today I read the details a bit more closely. Did the calc and got spot on co-ords for an easy find after a bit of a drive. TFTC
Visiting red cliffs from Cobram and went geocaching with the local cardross fillys. Great to see the same Murray River from the other end of the state. Great hide. Tnln
Found with moiramappers and cardross fillys. Good to see the Murray River from another location in the state. Great hide. Accurate coordinates

Market day at Red Cliffs, so plenty of visitors at Big Lizzie. Sourced the clues and after picking up goodies to munch on headed to location. A wonderful boardwalk and location for a cache. Thanks for bringing us here. Top Cache.
Was it this old girl or one similar that used to be in Mildura? Enjoyed the view. TFTC.

What a great old girl this is. It would be fantastic to see her moving down the road. GZ was also fantastic, the river is a beautiful place. SL TFTC
We really enjoyed this simple little Multi Cache and went away with some great photos and some more knowledge of our past. This was a good opportunity to show 4Pearce what a multi was all about. A really great GZ location deserves a favourite from me T-0 D-Pathtag TFTC

Yay we found it this time with Xanthe Sux but we are sure we looked there last time. Found at 1.15pm
Found on a lovely day but was unable to sign book as pencil is missing and didn't anything on me. Nice spot though, very peaceful, if only the gum tree could talk.
Thanks for the cache TNLN

Did the sums and went to GZ. This 70 year old had to do a bit of clambering to get the cache. All went well until muggles turned up with bags of oranges on their way to a house boat. Gaud knows what they thought of us signing the log. Anyway, they didn't stop to say hello, they were in too big a hurry.

Worked out the cypher and the cache location. Pretty sure there was another geocacher in the area - well she had a gps in hand.
Enjoyed the walk and scenery was worth the effort. We were too old to go looking for things supposedly "under the walkway"
We have gained a bit more experience - and exercise. Thanks

Dropped off the Racing Duck TB - He's Racing and he wants to get over the NSW Border. Please take a photo of him and move him on.
Well, that took some finding. We were just about to give up when......Luckily no muggles arrived to see our bums in the air. Took the TB and left a soldier. TFTC.
We have been here many times before... never knew a cache was right there. Left Pingu TB for a Riverside Holiday... He wants to go to oakdale? in NSW. Anyone going that way?
Nice to get this one under our belts. Very carefully worked out the answer and was a little surprised to see how far away GZ was. When we got to GZ we found a family taking photos and enjoying the scenery. Helped out by taking a photo for them. Eventually they moved on and we had an opportunity to have a good search. It took a couple of looks before we came up with the goods. TNLNSL.
Found on our Anniversary tour around Mildura.
The Big Lizzie is a great attraction and we learnt a lot and took a few photos while gathering the necessary information.
GZ is another nice area to explore and luckily there were no muggles around today.
We weren't sure if our numbers were right until we spotted the cache nicely hidden.

A fantastic piece of old machinery and a scenic walk at GZ. Enjoyed the challenge.
Impressive piece of transport. Collected numbers for GZ coords and arrived near location but substitution error put us 100 m out. Fixed and found cache at 2:10pm. We had come up river by houseboat the day before and turned back at this point. TNLN TFTC

Couldn't find this one today even using the hint. Lots of muggle interference didn't help. Still enjoyed both locations, including a nice parrot near GZ while we searched. May have to come back for another look before we leave.

Lovely day for lunch in the park , followed by a walk by the River. Found by GeoSon 1, much to the disgust of GeoSon2. He'll have to find the next one...
Waypoint one stopped me in me tracks
That is one weird one of a kind machine
I couldn't help thinking that if this thing were running one could loose a few toes if one wasn't careful
15 minutes later and with all the storyboards read and piccies taken, I headed for the river....
A great stroll down to the water's edge
With the cache found I popped "Spongy Bob" TB in the cache.
Dreadnought Wheels !!

What a fantastic cache... The clues were fun to gather as we had all the geokids running around looking at the storyboards ( and one hopping on crutches) ...........And then some maths to get the geo mummys brains going! Thanx girls! Next onto the final location .....what a beautiful board walk and veiws of our awsome murray river ( abit tricky for the hopping geokid). We Loved it !

I started this cache almost two years ago in pouring rain whilst the cache was inactive. What a contrast with today’s 43 degree heat. I had bypassed this cache earlier as I didn’t want to walk as far as the GPS indicated and thought I would come back on a cooler day. Whilst at Snake Gully I worked out that the corrected coordinates I had in the GPS had to be wrong as they were too close to Snake Gully for the proximity rule. Luckily I had as a precaution revisited the old girl today and made a note of the necessary pieces of info just in case, so I was able to recalculate! Shortly after I left the car-park a man and his dog arrived, to follow me down to the cache! He climbed over and took his dog for a swim leaving me in peace but I was still worried about how long I had until he came back and whether he would spring me in a compromising position! I didn’t find it easy to retrieve the cache, but I did manage eventually! Took the coffee (!) and left a green crane. Cache #614.
Having now gone back and read earlier logs, I assume my coordinates were for the earlier incarnation of the cache.

Found by edmil & maddie. Definitely a nice spot for a cache. Took a few minutes initially to get all the info about the big girl, well I got the information as maddie lay on the grass under a tree cooling off. We nipped into town & grabbed some tucker for a picnic then of to gz. The cache was located quickly however no pen/pencil nor did I have one in the cache kit; so it was a walk back to the car in the 40° heat to get one. Cache log was eventually signed and cache replaced. No swap was made however Took TB to move it on. Thanks for the cache & exercise.
Wow! What a piece of engineering! It's amazing to see what people managed to construct.
After admiring the engineering, it was back to nature, and a great view of the Murray. A quick find with Mrs Murf, and now we really, really want to come back for some houseboating on this part of the river
Thanks for taking us to a spot we may have otherwised missed on our way though.

Found on our afternoon out in sunny (not, try cool and drizzly) Mildura whilst trying to find a few last minute caches before we head home tomorrow.TNLNSL. Thanks for the cache -
We had been wondering what Big Lizzie was so it was great to stop and learn something about this beast while caching. Got the new coords and headed out to the final cache. Loved the boardwalk on the river, such a beautiful spot! We had forgotten the stamp and pen, so had to hike back up to the car! Anywhoo, lovely cache. Thanks!
Found whilst Raiding the Fruit Bowl, she aint no Thin Lizzie - sorry about the late log - TFTC
Found at 0950. Boy oh boy.....what a machine. She's got a big rear...big up top...and plenty of grunt in the middle...yep...She's a whole lot of woman. Rubik and I were completely amazed and impressed with this piece of machinery. Once the numbers were worked out, we were somewhat surprised how far away GZ was, but it was well worth the drive and walk down to GZ. Rubik found the cache on the opposite side of where I was looking.
Thanks for a nice multi.

Ah, so that's what Big Lizzie is! What an incredible brute of a machine. Every piece of child remaining in me just wanted to climb all over it but of course that's not allowed. Instead I had to make do with a couple of photos and a lovely walk by the river.
