Is this cache still here. I came back today for the third time with no luck.
Yay, just nice to get one before work today, I had a few muggles to contend with, this is obviously a spot for kids to hang out when they are skipping school, the council groundsman was about too, TFTC, Cheers.
Arrived late on Sunday& was too dark to search. Approached by the custodians who were locking up, "are you looking for the geocache?" Thought we'd finally meet more geocachers but they said they sometimes tag along with son-in-law (Reiguana. They told us cache had been removed. Came home read the logs came back Tuesday morning - found it! Also met hardworking curator couple tidying up the garden & they will keep eye on the cache. Lovely place. TFTC
Found it on the second attempt. Lovely gardens that we didn't know about before so thanks for bringing us here.
Sloshed through the puddles to school up on the history, did the calculations, but couldn't find the cache as we were trying hard to avoid muggles. Will have to go back when there are less couples and local business staff wanting to use the park for their meal breaks! Beautiful wee spot. Thanks, wahine.
With rchdlyn, we took a while because of the printing of the listing, but it was a nice walk and we git there.TFTC.
Well well, k1ngb0bby and i learnt a lesson in Draft Printing here - it changes basic arithmetical signs. Haha. Long way round but found easily. Getting a little damp as the top is under pressure for a good seal, otherwise all good. Nice hide. Clever and inconspicuous. No wedding parties, which seems the greatest hazard. And the bonus of going to a garden one would normally never even notice. We all know about it, but never thought about it. Now we are "sure to". TNLN, SL
At last after to many times to count we have found it. It wasn't very difficult just us oldies looking in the wrong place. TFTC
It took two goes with a return home to read the logs to find this one. Actually I found one like this, in another arch, in August 2005. Apparently I didn't log the find, which will account for the discrepancy in cache find claims in those I have and the numbers in the cache logs. However I enjoyed getting this a second time. Thanks. Hatas
Another cache find I neglected to log from 2008, only just noticed as I was listing caches that StreetWalkerNZ had found but I hadn't. Very late log but better late than never. Apparently I found it quickly, which is not always the case! TFTC.
#229. Found with Troodles. Second attempt at this one. A few weeks ago a wedding party cramped our style. Wedding parties are not likely in May; just had one muggle to contend with on a break. Troodles tracked down pretty quickly.
We were hampered by the presence of a wedding party on a neighbouring lawn (second one of the day!), so we were not particularly thorough.
Good find, except i was disappointed that the cache didn't have swappable 'things'. The first time i went my GPS ran outa battery before i could log the coordinates in.
2nd Cache today, and reasonably easy find by Cathy, however the instructions are misleading where it says "you do not have to leave the paths" - you most certainly do because the cache is cleverly hidden on the outside of the "feature" noted in the hints. It is not accessable while standing on the path. Nice sunny day for a stroll in the park today - TFTC !
Found the right spot (presumably - meets the encypted clue, and double-checked our numbers), but could not find a micro cache there. Not really sure what I was looking for, but looked all over 'that thing', and nada.
Thought we would just pop in while vegi shopping. Is a lovely little park, have driven past it everyday, but didn't realise it was as big.
Found it pretty easy, considering that in the middle of our hunting a bridal party came in for photo's and a Gardener came over to us to tell us all the history. And then the GPS went flat. LOL

Got it, glad we didn't get the clue, would have made it too easy. Pretty wet underfoot.
One of the info boards was missing so didn't have one of the values. Even while looking at all possible locations none were in the park - is this right? Maybe we just made a mistake with other questions, but we did check our answers carefully.
Thanks for a great cache concept anyway, we hope to find it next time.
Cheers,

Found with ease today (have been in before but took instructions re staying on path a little literally). Parking isn't a problem if you have plenty of time before the gates are locked as it has it's own car park. Only becomes an issue for evening/night geocachers.

Last cache of the day as light was fading fast.
Im glad they preserved this area as a park, I remember when the origional buiding was standing. Thanks for the cache.

Had tried to find this before without realizing it was a multi. Found with ease. Wanted to drop off geocoin but cache too small. Will now need to wait to weekend. This is a great place to visit. Beautiful at all times of year and lots of local history. Can't park at the moment as service station has gone and a RaeWard being built in its place.

It took a while to find the cache because of muggle activity. Thanks for the history lesson and the cache
We attended a wedding here today and after the ceremony, while they were taking photos, we shot off and found the cache.

Unlike RyRanger this one took us a while!! I think we were trying too hard. TFTC
We found this one tonight while out for a wonder,, been past here a million times but never ventured inside ..we had to look hard to find this one,,,but got there in the end,,cheers and thanks Bo
A wonderful easy multi cache, though had us going for the final, until we broke the rules!
Anyone who has ever done any baking in NZ must know the products made at this site.
Thanks Moneydork for this cache.

I had a chance to return the original cache to very near its original location (within a meter) on New Years Day. I have contact Moneydork to see what he wants me to do with it. In the meantime, you may find a larger cache than intended Cheers Gav
We collected the info quickly, but can't figure out why we couldn't find the cache at the site. Looked for a while....maybe one of our numbers was wrong. Anyway really loved the history and the gardens, such a nostalgic trip for those of us who had one of these Recipe Books as our first 'bible' of cooking.
Our second NZ cache. I hate it when we spend 30+ minutes on a 2 1/2 star. A great cache in a very cool park. SL TFTH. Scott and Lorry WA USA
I have replaced the cache with a micro, hidden in a similar (but different) location to the first cache. Instructions have been updated accordingly.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the maintainers of the garden just called me and said some local youths had found the cache and scattered it. One of the maintainers has collected whats left (at least container and logbook I hear). The cache will probably need to be rehidden in another location since this location has been breached. So, cache probably needs to be temporarily archived. Wayne - contact me to arrange collection of the remains. Cheers Gav.
Straightforward, quick find, in this beautiful little park of flower gardens. TNLN. Nice and quiet early on a Sunday.
We took a nice walk around here as have never been in here before. Really nice gardens. Found the answers then discovered the cache pretty quickly. TNLN
Saw one of the voluntary wardens as we stood at the sign figuring out the clues and had a chat with him about the place. He enquired if we were "writing some details down". Umm, yep. TNLN Thanks.
You learn something new every day when you geocache! Had no idea this park was even here, much less what used to be here. Inspired to go home and do some baking. Gary noticed that there were heaps of Monarch butterflies around. Answers found easily and cache find was straight forward. TNLN Thanks
First find of the day. Found quickly with the help of a friend. Very wet under foot & a bit chilly. Took a travelbug and left ? (misplaced my note)
This was the wettest cache we have ever done. It's not aquatic, just the effect of the rain we have had over the last week. The ground was sodden and we slid around. Found using the clue - great spot. Took the TB for a trip - it's cool. TFTC.
Looked all around and eventually used the clue to find this one. It was so muddy that I didn't leave with dry shoes, but it didn't matter. TFTC. TNLN.
7:20pm, #15 of day 4 of our week in Chch (that's 63 to date). Fascinating piece of history that we were familiar with a picture of, but never expected to visit!
Enjoyed this small multi . What a pity the council did not have the forsite to keep the building a iconic piece of NZ history. Good choice of cache container took a second look to realise it was not a rubbish discard. TFTC
Great gardens, cache an easy find, searching the clues very informative.

Did have some help as I was too short to reach cache and my co-ordinates were a little off.
A fine way to top off the afternoon of Ridders76's Risen to the Occasion event cache.
After my initial failure at Super 12 another one at this cache was bad news. Again two muggles on the seat on a seat, near the final cache but quick pass by turned up nil. A return visit 2 hours later and an intensive search failed to find.
Post script
I returned next day with extra help but still found nought. I am a bit embarrassed at the damage done by our extensive fossicking.

Found it, not another soul in sight. Took Balloon, left notebook, signed log. Thanks!
Still tantalising smells of baking drifting across! I was glad of the glasshouse to shelter in from the rain TNLN
Nice easy multi for Andre and I. We had to do a few laps of the park while waiting for two amorous muggles to move on. TNLN. Cheers Moneydork.
Got this on the second attempt with a tiny bit of help from Sallies. (Thank you). Great hiding place. A most appropriate fragrance was wafting in from somewhere nearby. YUM!
Found it after solving the clues. A friendly gardener seem to keep an eye on me
logged my visit, took nothing - replaced nothing

At long last I found it - lovely spot and a good hiding place, but still muggles galore all over the place. I still believe the coords are 70 metres out. Three times the GPS GZ was 70m away from the actual cache.
A lovely park. Heaps of reading material and interesting packaging of the different products made on site. Smallest buckoboy had another 3 year old friend with him on this cache hunt, so we had to make two swaps.
- lanyard and lizard
+ necklace and Glow Star
Had a great chat to the gardener too!

We liked the 'dummy' questions - that you don't actually need to find the answers to! 8^P
The cache was nicely hidden. Interesting to see that despite the instructions, the garden has in fact been walked on. Definitely recognised the Sallies container when we saw it! TNLN - Thanks.

well this was my first cache finally got it after a while of trying to work out he gps but in the end turned up triumphent -tiny rolling pin +glass chineese bead
It turns out there was a tea party here today, missed out on the festivities myself though.
Whoa! What a busy cache - there's been so many visits here. Once again a nice little garden that I never really knew existed - although I do remember the old factory building that used to be onsite. Found the cache without too much trouble ...
TNLN. Thanks

Our third find for the day, after having Big Pizza down the road. Beautifully managed gardens with an interesting history. I well remember the original 'Sure to Rise' building. -fridge magnet +smiley stickers & lanyard.
Nice nearby gardens, we have visited a few times. Lots of muggles around, a perfect picnic spot. We didn't take/leave anything. Went home and had some cake to celebrate our 2nd cache.
Amazing gardens, surprisingly quiet despite the traffic noise. Great hiding spot - the smallest of the GSV team found
this one (well done Sarah). Thanks for the hunt.

Ciotach and I spent the last two days updating our instruction sheets and decided this cache would be a good one to get back into practice with. We decided to do this on the way to Ciotach's appointment with the Physio but left home a bit late and just had time to gather the answers to the questions. I was able to enter the new co-ordinates into the GPS while sitting in the waitng room and then we went back to check the cache. Co-ordinates took us right there and found it without any problems after we had waited 5 minutes for some Muggles to get clear of the lawn....

It was an interested and lovely historical story and its beautfiul garden - quite a heritage. There were a few muggles around. Had to wait until they were out of sight while I pretended to talk on my GPSr (act as if it was a mobile phone handset) before grabbed it quickly and moved away to log it and returned to the hidden place. TNLNSL. Thanks for the hunt, Moneydork and Sallies.
8:39pm
Was getting dark, so we endeavoured to find this one quickly as the fireworks started overhead. Never been in the gardens though we drive past often enough!
TNLN, thanks

Took my boyfriend on his first cache to this site, and he was very excited to find it without my help! Great hiding place, and lots of fun sharing the hobby with someone else.

Travelled with Trinitty (who had remembered to bring her GPS which is more than I did) on a warm and sunny day - spring is sprung, as the new leaves testified. A very pleasant stroll in the gardens, got to the cache when we copied down the clue numbers correctly.

I took the kids on this cache. Great little park. The kids loved looking at the fish in the pond.
Nice easy find, we just had to avoid the 2 guys 'getting out of it' in the back garden.

Found the park and the numbers for the co-ordinates no problem. After double-checking, went to the location. Searched extensively, no luck. Eventually searched all the candidates for the spot as mentioned in the hint, still no luck.
Finally had a chance to do the talked-about cache Was pretty easy and the cache was found quickly. I've been here quite a few times so know it pretty well (as well as some of the wardens). Cheers Gav [174]
My 2nd ever cache. Slowly getting the hang of using GPS. Had lots of fun finding cache. It wasnt far from where I live. My partner found the cache and is getting keen to do do more geocaching.
Nice gardens, took me a while, I had the old Cache page in the palm but got there in the end, while I was there one of the Warden pinged some lady for taking Roses, Then come and asked me if that was my car in the Car park, which it was.. " Oh she goes I will erase your number plate I thought it belong to the person taking the roses "..

One thing I have learned is not to rush to be FTF. Which proves that I've possibly gained some wisdom with age. Was going to do this yesterday. Just might stroll along this arvo. Signed, the ex-beta tester.
