Logs
This cache has reached its use-by date. Recent ground clearing work in the area has resulted in the removal of the cache and terrain alterations that make it impractical to replace.
Had a reasonable look before checking clue, and previous logs. On reading those saw little point in wasting more time.
no luck here. two of us had a decent look.. i'm thinking given it's the third consecutive DNF that cache owner may want to check the spot.. maybe i'm just blind a nice little reserve anyway!
Couldn't locate this one, but went on to find 6 other caches today which were rated the same difficulty if not slightly harder! Rather annoying! Hope it's actually in the reserve! Whio and son!

Found but put back as a lady came to tell us we were in her garden. Didn`t sign it, didn`t say anything, didn`t like it.
Great to find this hidden reserve.

Found this cache after lunch nearby at the Takahe, Took the kiwi and left an aussie keyring, TFTC
[Replacement cache set, while original gets resucitated. As before a 1 litre plastic box painted green, this time containing a new log book, stash note, and pencil and sharpener; also a swimming kiwi (as this cache seems to get damp from time to time), a green ball, a bottle opener and a yellow super car. The path near here is quite ovewrgrown so your GPS may be erratic in rain or after rain.] The cache is along the path out of the park going up hill at the Southern end.
[Happy hunting, Dalmore]

[hi. found cache today, contents damp and grubby. took nothing left green ball.]
And easy find, thanks to B&G for the inspiration.
Noted that the cache was still damp, and that the pencil sharpener has gone rusty.
As it was a wet day, we were unable to aid any further drying of the cache.

Stopped for this one on the way up to Summit road. There was water in the box, so dried it out as best I could, may need some first aid.
Another nice little hidden pocket of bush. Bad GPS reception made it a bit harder than expected for a "1" cache.
TFTC!
TFTC!
Found it on my first try. GPS had me about 10 metres away & I searched a while there but spotted the right area on the way back to the car - I'd already walked past it!
Contents are getting a little damp, looks like the cache hasn't been sealed properly at some time.

Found it relatively quickly - I looked for a very long time about a year ago and failed to find it then! TNLN
Yeah I found this one today , It was my second attempt at it ,i just had to think a wee bit,got there in the end.cheers
Was up this part of the hill completing another cache so decided to stop by and do this one. Was a welcome relief after the last. Found an access point easily enough and after a short wander we were standing in the vicinity of the cache. GPS was a bit out so we resorted to the clue and after a quick hunt came up with it. TNLN Cheers!
Together with willma I had a steeply downhill track to the convenient site for seeking the cache and we found it easily with water inside. The container was not waterproof!

You are right about not being obvious, just about missed the entrance. Found the cache with not too many worries, but note that it is a bit damp in there. Tried to dry it out, but I've run out of silica to leave in there. TNLN Thanks.
Found with the A team from Alex.
A nice old lady came by and asked what we were doing, so we told her all about geocaching. She was intigued. We gave her one of our trinkets as a memento.
Cache container had water in it. We dried it and replaced the plastic bag.

Found without to much difficulty. Great out of the way reserve with great veiws over the city. Cache very wet had to pour water out of the bottom and dried best I could. Log book damp.

Not too hard to find, cache was very wet inside. Drained and dried what we could. TNLN Thanks
Found with help of clue. Gps was 15m off target. Cache wet. Cleaned debris out of seals best as I could. No swops.
4:50pm, #12 of day 4 of our week in Chch (that's 60 to date). NIce quick find on the way back after popping over to Govenor's bay.
Found this sweet spot on a hot day, got eaten alive by mosquitos and didn't write much in the book because of it. GPS was a bit dodgy under the trees and put us out a few times, resulting in getting a bit of a shoo along by muggles that owned one of the houses higher up the track. Apparently private up there. Oops.
Took a little tin
Left a cup and ball game and a glow-stick

Lovely walk. Had been getting around to doing this one for quite some time as we heard about it through another geocacher at school. Two perfect snails were sitting on top, looking like they were part of the camouflage. TNLN, TFTC. Linleye.
Nice walking track.
Snail trying to take cache but just able to stop them in time.
1st find with only using waypoint from GPS.

Wandered down the track and found cache with ease. Had to whistle about for a few minutes whilst muggle family bush bashed their way around. No exchange.
Our third and final cache of the day. About 5-10 mins of rumaging around a funny little park. We took the Jeep Travel Bug to relocate it.
Nice afternoon outside. Enjoyed looking at some big houses down the road, and the greater view of Christchurch.
No Swaps.
Cheers

Here today about noon. I hadn't been along this track before so that was fun. Took a wee while to find as I was too influenced by the clue but Elena got her second find for the day. Andre liked throwing the contents of the cache down the path. Things go a lot further down hill... TN but left 2005 Jeep TB.
nice easy one to do with 'Takahe' - GPS unit had me searching on the wrong side of the track - easy to spot once on other side of track
Hey, who'd have thought this little track was here. Did this along with 'Takahe' so was a short walk from Sign of the T. over to here. TFTC!

I standing almost on top of this yesterday, but my GPS was all over the place. Nabbed it in no time at all today, though. I think the clearer skies helped. Good one!

Made heavy weather of this on the first visit and coudn't find it. Today I just walked to it, really easy. Oh joy.
This was so easy, sat down to get my bearings and saw it straight away.So pleased as it was 4 o'clock in the afternoon and I had been out with the tramping club since 9 o'clock.
Had to get the timing right as a neighbour was busy in his garden close by. The park sure is a hidden spot. + Vase, - gecko. Thanks stoutwind, Ridders76.
Always nice to find parts of town that I didn't knew exist.

Found it in the light (went last night, but had difficulty ) Very close to my home - brought rest of family along to show them the game (infact, they found it first, logged it and hid it again before I got there...)
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for this one, Dalmore. I've walked this track a few times, as I live only about 800m away. Found your cache about 9:30am this morning - only one jogger passed as we signed the logbook. The Council lawn-mowers had kindly left enough long grass around the cache to keep it hidden - you never know, it might convert (or should it be subvert) one of them to geocaching. No swaps. Cheers, Grandalf
9:10pm
Found this one as it was getting dark, easy find though.
No swaps made, thanks Sallies.

Everyone else seemed to think this cache was an easy find - I disagree! The path was incredibly busy today - there was some sort of orienteering event on - 50 or so orienteers, with maps and compasses dangling from their necks were almost constantly running past the GZ! I think they were all too out of breath to even think what the hell I was doing loitering around on the path with a GPS!
Cheers!

The final cache in a afternoons caching # 11 i think no swaps . Shame on you i grew up on these hills. my uncle lived in kidson tce.

A 33-34 degrees celsius day when we found this one. I let tarkwyn and co do the finding while I strategically "searched" the shade.
...and one more makes three. After some confusion over directions and previous logs we found this cache. Good spot

We intentionally increased our search area after reading previous logs, but it turned out to be unnecessary as we were in the right place all along, and so just wasted another ten minutes. Thanks, took car left foreign note.
Another wee gem of a park. Thank you Dalmore. Found cache with out any problems.

The clue was most helpful and you were right - it was good to get out of the fearfully cold wind up at the Takahe. Thanks. TNLN
It's been 24 caches since our "Didn't Find", so it was about time we came back now we can read the GPS better!
Our first night time cache too (9:30pm) - just to make it a bit more difficult. Found easily by light of the GPS.
Small buckoboys were in pyjamas and wanted to do a swap. Unfortunately I had the wrong car out, and the "cache bag" stays in the other car.
Subsequently TNLN.
Thanks Dalmore.

So easy to find. Beautiful little area with lot of birds.
I found it under the rain. Second cache today, the first was "Takahe". Don't care about mistakes I'm learning English at school (I'm French).
In : a Swiss keyring (UBS bank)
Out : a little red top.
Berthe.

Wet and Cold. Trying to do too many in one afternoon. Will try again after reading the clue and not trusting the GPS (as others have had to do).
Found cache using clue. Zeroed about 10m up the track. Out of cold wind which was nice.
TNLN - Thanks

Finally found the top entrance after driving past it twice!
With the help of a small dog (I think it belonged to the people who live next to the site) we finally found the cache.
There has been lots of trees cut down around the cache so we thought it may have been lost but we finally found it after walking up and down the track for 15min.
My GPS said the cache was on 1 side of the track but it was on the other side.
-hair clips (Georgia, 7yo, couldn't resist them)
+belt key clip

Approached the road from the top, and managed to find a nice close entrace to the reserve. My GPS was telling me lies, so I ended up using the hint and crossed to the other side of the track. Released Noah's Grinch TB, took nothing. Nice reserve and lovely views. Cheers Gav [196]
Did this one after Takahe. Loverly walk, see what you mean about the entrances. Didn't even know that this place existed

Tried approaching the cache from above, but didn't seem to be able to without stomping through someone's garden.
Found it easily from the bottom.

Parked in Takahe Road but was put off by the "Private" signs. Puffed uphill and around. Saw an elephant track, followed it and picked up the cache. + top. - dolphin wire puzzle. Also dropped off Blake's Bike Travel Bug so that it can resume it's journeys. Thanks Brent, Georgina and dalmore

We never knew that there was access into this area so it was like a little adventure finding the area, then following the various tracks to see where they would come out. Thanks Ben, Georgina and Dalmore for showing us this interesting track.

We got back from the experiences at "Sure Thing" and called up the 'recent caches in the South Island' page to log it. Lo and behold, a new cache listed!
Well, it was 10 o'clock, still wet and we were both tired.
So off we went, to find the cache...
We started into a couple of back gardens before finding a real entrance, then got a little side-tracked into someone else's garden path, before Mama Bear got sick of this messing around and just found the cache.
Took: nothing
Left: a cat and the Red Dog TB.
