Dropped by Royal NP at the request of the ranger and collected the cache. It is now in my garage awaiting the owner's instructions. Have removed the geocoin to get it going again.
I received an email this week from a park ranger informing me this cache is now sitting in their office at Audley. The cache owner has contacted.
Was in the park for a birthday party and the daughter was keen for a boating expedition so we approached this one from the water. Found it quickly and swapped rogaine and Lifeline magnets for a 40km zone magnet. Also dropped off a coin. We were lucky to get back without getting caught in the storm and had a great day out. Thanks.
managed to avoid all the stinging nettles to my surprise
forgot to take my magnet, so TNLN

Went out caching with the Boyfriend today, sadly he found two out of the three we went hunting for and this was one of them.
I'd never been to this part of the Natio before and it was a fantastic little walk, once I realised i'd given bad directions and sent us up lady carington drive by mistake. I loved the scenery and saw some really pretty birds as well. TNLN
Just to note though it looks as though some water may have made it's way into the cache as things are a little bit damp.

Great day for a paddle on the river. Found the cache. TNLN as we didn't bring any magnets.
nice spot swag aft, especially like the walk in good fun, forgot to take a magnet tho
On this sunny mild day we were wandering around the Royal doing the odd cache or three. After pinpointing this one on the topo we parked the vehicle and wandered along the river bank through vegetation which had almost a tropical Qld feel about it. Palm trees of some sort plus some vicious looking shrubbery near the actual cache location. Plenty of birdlife abounded - particularly water fowl. In fact the only difficulty with this cache were a couple of muggle birdwatchers who came twitching along at an inopportune time. We made no swaps here.
found it after we walked half way up the hill then realised where it really was but found it easy once in the right location
After walking half way up the cliff we realised it was no where to be seen!! quick look at the map sorted us out.. Headed back down to the waters edge.. Didnt have any magnets sorry, TNLN, nice spot if your in a boat.! Second Cache of the day.. Thanks for the walk..
We needed a lunch time break, so we thought we'd nip out and complete the closest cache to home/work that we hadn't done.
Had a lovely stroll down alongside the river ,saw the Bower Birds bower that is still there, along with the expected blue items scattered around, twisted ourselves through some of the root systems of the trees, slipped in some of the mud still lingering from the recent high water levels & then spotted the all important treee.
Cache was found very quickly & the coords were pretty much spot on for us.
We didn't have any decent fridge magnets to drop into the cache, so we TNLN.
TFTC SWAG aft - it was just what we needed for a lunch time break.

The river was very swollen today. The weir was closed. However I was just able to make my way to the cache despite the high waters. I did however have to take off my shoes to wade through some thigh deep water.
Cheers!
Cheers!
A lovely stroll into gz today and once there the cache was soon found. TNLN and thanks to SWAG aft for the cache.
significant mud, foolishly did not bring any fridge magnets, but now they are in the geocaching bag. Next time...
We worked out exactly what side of the river we needed to be on, so all we had to do was walk to the cache. This wasn't the easiest thing to do - the recent rains have turned the river banks to slippery mud - but we made it in the end and Khelbiros found the cache.
The river must flood high near the cache. There is water weed stuck in the trees. Somehow, the cache is still in place and dry. Watch out for stinging nettles around GZ. c.j.b. demonstrated to Yewenyi, Khelbiros and I just what happens when you touch them.
Took nothing, left nothing, thank you for the cache.

Found it after first going to the wrong side of river. Should of paid more attention to the additional coords. Great location, never been down this far, usually have our picnics at the top end. TFTH.

A great spot for a cache. After finding some stinging netles (ouch) under the "tree" we checked the GPSr again and there it was. TNLN
I was very impressed with the whole area this cache is planted in. It is definitely worth a visit, cache or not. I parked at the suggested start and made my way out to GZ. The GPS was having some trouble getting decent accuracy and when I read the cache description in my PDA, there was no accompanying photo.
I was almost there, so I thought I'd look for any distinctive tree nearby - I found two, and the GPS hovered between them, sometimes on one, sometimes on the other. I checked in and around both without success. However, further checking elsewhere revealed the cache near another distinctive tree that I hadn't noticed.
I didn't make any swap of magnets. Thanks for the cache, and for showing me this great area.

Managed to convince the kids to come and do a second cache after Boot Camp. We headed down to Audley to try our luck. Despite a couple of "I'm too tired to walk" comments all 3 kids came along for the fun, with Bethany once again locating the cache.
Julianne traded a 'Duel Masters Puzzle magnet' for the penguin magnet. Signed log & then had arvo tea whilst soaking up the ambience of this location.
Thanks for an excellent cache!
best wishes,
Wal, Julianne, Bethany & Jeremy.

Our aim for the long weekend was to knock off some caches in RNP, consider we leave so close we should have done this ages ago.
We played around for ages in the area before we even got to GZ, had fun on the log hanging over the water. With so many people having picnics nearby we were surprised that no one else was out here, i wonder if they knew what they were missing??
Found the cache quick enough.
Thanks
Sc00t, Twisties, Fugu, JB, Pembo and Brownie.

Nice easy find, nothing in or out as we didn't have any magnets (sorry).
Saw a very interesting long tailed lizard in the park that we'd never seen before and a joey in the bushes, so the wildlife was surely out and about tonight

A fantastic spot in the Royal National Park that I have not been to before. I saw the out of control Bower Bird's bower - and the Bower Bird, but no Lyrebirds. I had surprisingly good reception at GZ and the cache was found in no time. Thanks SWAG aft
Took a fridge magnet and left a fridge magnet.

After finally having that BBQ with some friends, we just happend to be near this one, it was on my list anyways, so, off we set with a large group of muggles in tow. Well, a new potential team in training.
Was not too hard a find, the stinging nettle made it's presence felt for some. Swapped a magnet, for, a magnet.
Cheers

Lovely spot for a cache. Haven't actually walked on this side of the river before. The tree helped find the location.

Took me ages just to find the tree... then I stuck my arm into a stinging nettle bush. Grrrr...
Finally found the time to get to this one. Needed the tree picture to confirm as the gps was pretty screwey in here. A nice walk in though. Came unprepared so left nothing, sorry.
Strangely attracted to this one...there are wasps on "the other side" of the cache site!
We were in the Park for a ride up Lady Carrington and the temptation to do a cache was too much. The track up to the GZ was magical. A Bower Bird bower that was out of control and a Lyrebird with a call that paid tribute to Spacer Invaders made the walk special. On the way back the Lyrebird jumped out in front of us and did a full-on display. Thanks for a great location.

Found this one with no info, had the waypoint in the GPS as we were driving through the National park so we got out and had a little walk. took pig magnet, left butterfly magnet.
I love fridge magnets! I finally found this cache, and exchanged magnets.
Note that it seems this cache is below the flood level of the river. ("Vanilla Custard" was washed away )

Enjoyed watching the Azure Kingfisher while doing all the caching stuff. Much better bird than those mongrel Lyrebirds especially the ones who mimic your phone. We have a couple that wait until you are down the yard and then play that trick.
I was guided to the cache by a welcoming party of two juvenille lyre birds. It was good to see some moist leaf litter underfoot for a change.
Polished off this one after a Sunday morning run down Lady Carrington and back.
For some reason, I had in my head that it would be a big suitcase-sized container full of magnets...

Found it in the dark. Initially went the wrong way up the hill but quickly realized all was not right. Found the tree then the cache. Left a firewood & kindling magnet. Took puppy fridge magnet.
I've been to the Royal many, many times but I never knew this spot existed. The easy walk was a nice change from some of the cliff climbing and bush bashing I've done recently.
Took frog and left MIB and c.o.w. magnets.

Mmmmmmm a day in the park and a virgin to go.
Now where did I pop the question:
Well the first time was down by the harbour with the sun setting, very romantic. Ahhh it wasn't true love and only lasted month. Then there was my second fiancee. Now she was hot but couldn't commit. It lasted a week. Oh, then there was my first wife, she's a dragon lady. She asked me to marry her so I guess that doesnt really count. My fourth fiancee had loads of money. The inlaws were cool, but they wised up to me and told their daughter to flick me. It lasted 6 months.... Finally, theres the 2 wives I'm married to now. They've never met each other nor do they know the other exists. I proposed to both of them in my dreams....... Ah had you goin' hey.

A pleasant find in fadeing light, cache extremely well guarded by lyre birds.
If you are taking the kiddies be sure to warn them of the stinging nettles.
