Nice views. Coordinates are off but if you think outside the box, it's easy. highly recommend taking proper hiking shoes and looking for cache in nice weather as you will be scrambling up and trekking through tall grass. Tftc
Parked in the large gravel area and scrambled up the bank before making my way around to the GZ. All good here, TFTC
Trouve ! / Found it ! 5203me cache trouve.Merci Badger-Ferret pour la cache 5203th cache found.Thank you Badger-Ferret for the cache
Thankfully a cooler end of summer day. Had to find a cache today being 29/2/24. Found with frosty1995. All good here. TFTC
GPS was 8m out for this one. CO was out doing maintenance. Tftc in a great spot with amazing views
Awesome cache. Took the long way after parking west of it. Ended up walking down the rail line then up and over to the rock. Well worth the climb with KJR. TFTC
Summer Holiday 2024Day #1Heading to Hanmer with AlpiSteve This was another of our target caches due to the FP's. Parked slightly past and made the trek back and up. Grass was long and dry but a well formed path. Got to the station and then made our way along the tracks and then up the bank...not ideal in jandals!!! Soon made it to the top of the and down the side to where we found the nicely hidden cache. Carried on down the track which of course was much easier and safer! Such fun and well deserving of another FP TFTC Make your way to Dunedin for New Zealands next large multi-day event. GCA7ZHD Geo Toroa will be held on NZs Labour Day long weekend 26-27th October 2024
Well that was a trek and a half for a couple of over 60s on a very hot day. Tftc
Well that was pretty hard on a 30 degree day. The grass is certainly head height. TFTC
Very glad to have a dry day even if it is too hot. Would have been fun on that track if wet - hats off to the prior teams! Travelling with the parents and had targeted this and one other for today's travels. Both helped me with the NZ Jasmer Challenge. The camper pulled in to the very good parking and I got my first view of what I would be scrambling for. Both parents were not in. Found the track and more or less followed it to GZ. Then the hint advice took over. A very fun cache. Caching sense took over and I honed in on where I would put it and there it was. A very fun cache - loved it - a FAV for sure.
Well this one got us very wet, and not just from the rain. But we got there in the end. Found with angelic_kiwi. tftc
Our first find on our jasmer/hidden months tour this week, great to get a gap filled. It was raining when we started walking to this one but happily it stopped soon after. So much wet grass though! We couldn't find the track at first so we got wetter than needed. The train came past as we were walking up so we waved back to the people who waved to us - they must have wondered what we were doing! Good hint led us to the cache. Thanks so much for keeping this one going so long!
Stopped off with Gummi_Venus to get this oldie. We had a grand time playing on the rocks, getting passing motorists to honk, and even caught a passing train. This was a great one. Enjoyed it.
Found with ObnoxiousSpaceCat, we enjoyed exploring the area and jumping around like 8 year olds!
29/9/2023 Find #6667Day 21 of the Fangsoki/1MinnieMoo New Zealand South Island adventures. Today was our final day of travel, heading from Hanmer Springs back to Christchurch, ready to fly home tomorrow. Fangsoki mentioned this cache, which he had found a few years ago. It was on my list as an older cache, so we parked the car and made our way up. As it had rained, it was slippery going getting up the path, and I questioned what coming back down was going to be like!Once up however, it was a short walk over to uncover the cache at the likely spot. Then time for that down, which was slow going, but wasnt as bad as expected. Thanks for the cache Satchmo Cat.
Scrambled up muddy track to top off rock, then picked up cache on way back down.
All safe and dry.
Thanks for the placement and bringing us here.

Gone past frog rock many times and this was the first time we stopped to have a look at it. Nice spot for a cashe TFTC
Slipped and slid getting up here on a wet day but was worth it. Reebuck was in heaven as only a 12 year old could be. TFTC
Found with DeadRockFlower and reebuck on our way back to Christchurch. Bit of a clamber up to GZ. Got there in the end. Some very spectacular formations here. Tnlnsl. Tftc!!

Stopped here on our way to Hanmer Springs curious to discover the Stoned Frog.
First problem to solve, was finding a save parking for the car. We opted for S 43° 00.040 E 172° 42.800. Is a bit further to walk, but big enough to park with some distance to the Highway track.
Not easy to access the cache, as the grass and flowers grew nearly man high. But finally I stood at GZ and with help of the hint, I got a good idea where to search (some meters away from GZ). There I found the box in good condition.
Thank you for placing a cache at this nice location

Easy to get to if you go slightly higher and back down a few metres to the cache - a decent geotrail from there.
A cool perspective and a must do to see the frog shape. Could be a good picnic spot and watch the traffic go by. Worth the little hilly walk to the top.

On the way home from a brief caching trip in North Canterbury, didn't have a lot of time to spend searching, everything is very overgrown, lots of prickles and the long grass very slippery, GPS jumping all over the place. I gave it 10 minutes then had to go as time was not on my side. Perhaps another day.
Ā Great little hide, quite overgrown with prickles. Thankfully nznina had just been here and carved a path for us. Tftc
Stopped to do the earth cache here as there was enough room to park.
Was not wearing suitable footwear but I still managed to get to the rock. Only got one prickle. A nice easy find as cache was easy to see.

Quite overgrown this time of year took a while to find and a hole in the rock though us off.

We are heading to Lake Taylor for a day trip and picking some caches along. What a beautiful day to climb up the frog rock and pickup this cache. It took slightly longer than we expectd to get the cache here because of jumpy GPS. Glad that we finally found it. TFTC

Lovely Rock. Just beat the muggles. Put in a new log as couldn't find a blank spot.
A nice leg stretch and quick find with SJT_NZ, finally all things lined up to stop and explore frog rock after many many drive bys. Thank Badger-Ferret, all in good order.
Tregearp and I have driven past here many times while visiting family in Chch. We've always meant to stop but either the traffic was too heavy or we were against the clock. This morning we had time up our sleeve, and it was light traffic on a cool Friday spring morning. A quick find. All in good order, completed formalities and replaced as found. Thanks Badger-Ferret for a nicely located cache.
Found during a trip from Nelson to Chch for the weekend.
Easy to pull over and not so easy to find a good way up, was a bit slippery after some rain.
Managed to get there (turned out up was easier than back down afterwards..).
Cache under obvious placed rocks found, signed and replaced.
I was the only one from a group of 4 that clearly saw the frog while approaching with the car. Not so clear standing here, but it was clear to me while driving up the place.

Cold and rainy today as we travel from Hanmer to Hororata. Quickly found the cache once I had made the short climb. Enjoyed the stop

I write "WRITE NOTE" because it is a time when we can't go on a long adventure, so I travel in the memories of my visits to New Zeusemad. Of this adventure in New Zealand, I only stretch Travel Bug. Writing "FOUND IT" is probably not right anymore, it wasn't today, but I was here before. And unfortunately I won't get here again.
I am sending a beautiful greeting from the Czech Republic.

We stopped here after an excursion to visit the [Māori Rock Art](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC82N5Q), having been alerted to its existence after the new [Geotour cache](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC92785) was listed. A distinctive cacher cairn made this a quick find, although a little bit of a scramble from the path. We also took in the nearby Earthcache, which was lots of fun. TFTC!
Well after the first attempt on the 14th we are back for another go and this time we let geosense lead us and we found it!!! Yippee

Yay, we've found it. Tried to look for this on the way to Hanmer but no luck. Spoke to another cacher and decided to give it a second go on the way home. It was exactly the place where I had chosen not to look previously, after having a good search and getting too hot.
It was another hot day today but went straight to location, log signed and off we go back to Chch. Didn't use GPS this time but have to note, it is slightly off. Thanks for this cache, was one that was teasing me, as DNF's so often do.

We left Hamner Springs at 9 degrees and I was wet and frozen. We stopped here and fad a warming lunch before venturing up here. Initially we looked at wrong spot but soon narrowed down the options. Thanks for bringing us here
I have probably driven Nelson to Christchurch 100 times over the last 40 years, and this is my first ever stop at Frog Rock.
The scramble to the rock was slightly more adventurous than I expected, and the final approach to the cache is tricky since the fire.
All good fun, and pleasing to find the cache in perfect condition.

My mobility is becoming quite limited, but I was very determined to get up there. A big thank you to my assistant and trusty stick for helping me up. I proudly stood on the rock.
Getting back down to the car was a whole new adventure.

Magical views upp here, bit of a scramble in the wrong foot wear but that's OK all for the sake of a treasure - TFTC
No referendums were signed or consumed reaching this little beauty. THTC and the view. First time climber.
Having spent a week or so in Chch visiting son's new house etc we took a day out and went up to Hanmer Springs for a sit in the lovely warm pools. , although there was sleet in the air as we entered the pools! I have been here several times enjoying the spot greatly every time!
It was interesting seeing the Weka pass Rail Stn which i did not know existed and it would be nice to visit again on a day that it is running and experience the journey on the steam train.
We stopped here on our return journey and ascended the 'heights' up to the stn initially and then onto the frog rock to take a photo etc
I took nothing and left nothing.
Thank you for this cache at such an interesting place I loved the little stn!

It was the perfect day to visit the rock! Perfect afternoon lighting coming back from Hanmer. Magical. Scrambled up and soon had cache in hand. Thanks
Visiting the South Island as the grown up kids are on Uni holiday. Heading up to Nelson today and collecting some caches en route. Very happy to find a cache from 2004 which filled in a gap in my Jasmer calender. Thanks for keeping this one going. Great location which I would have driven straight past if I wasn’t caching. Nice view from the top. A favourite from us.
Time to head home after a few nights in hamner..and it's cold..time to knock off some p and g's
Finally making the time to stop at the rock...climbed to the top and was able to make a quick find while a few muggles were out of sight..quick find tftc picked up tb

On our way home from being support vehicle for the St James Multi Sport event. A great weekend in awesome country. Nice to stop here as always wanted to walk up to this. Thanks for a great cache and location Badger-Ferret.
Cool rock. Quite fascinating. Logbook could do with a clean out of old log sheets.
Found on the way to HanmerSprings for the weekend for Dad's birthday with Go_Zz, Mundtville and Baxters crew. My sister in law found this one.
Meet GeoTed also looking for this cache. Cool rock. TFTC

I headed up to see the little shed first then got a surprise when I walked over the hill to see what I thought was a group of muggle. I cursed under my breath thinking I would have to walk away from this one when one of them asked me is I was looking for something. Yes I said - this is the first time I have met other cachers while out hunting. Hope you have a good weekend. Thanks for placing this cache in a interesting spot.
On way home from annual sisters weekend in Hamner and saw there was a cache coming up along the road. Because I wasn’t driving it was only luck I was able to grab the cache. So with three of my sisters we climbed up the hill and while two sisters were playing by the shed two of us carried on to find the cache. Footwear become a wee problem so barefoot it was to get up the rest of the way. A fave spot here for me! TFTC

After checking out the nearby EarthCache we trekked over to this old trad along some very well worn goat paths through the grass. After checking out a different spot the SPOR and the cache was spotted. The log sheets are really filling up this little container these days! TFTC!

Travelling down from Nelson on a work trip for a few days and so some quick caching en route is obligatory.
I’d earmarked this oldie and the nearby EarthCache before we let which gave a good target for a stop and a leg-stretch.
Having clambered up the hill and got my bearings I initially set about looking in completely the wrong place but having stood back and assessed they situation I followed the track a little further before spotting a likely hiding place. Thankfully I was right!
Another FP for this golden-oldie.
Thanks Badger-Ferret

KrystalKath, Tama and I are travelling to Hanmer Springs today to 'take the waters' and perhaps visit some snow.
It's an absolutely gorgeous day, barely a cloud in the sky and the snow covered hills looking magnificent.
Unfortunately my phone and apps are playing up and I can't bring up the GPS to direct me to geocaches. That's if they appear in c:geo or the Official app.
Accordingly I did this cache by memory - the only one today as no other caches showed up at Culverden, Hanmer, Jacks Pass, or Hurunui - the other places we visited.
We took the walk up to the Frog Rock 'station'. Such a shame it's been wrecked and graffitied.
KK and Tama the geohound returned to SF while I endeavoured to find the cache.
Success. TNLNSL
I then wandered up to the summit where a couple of young tourists were sitting. Impressive!
Thanks for bringing me here although I'll have to return as I didn't know there was an Earthcache here too.

What a nice place, we would never have noticed it without the cache... We would probably have seen the rock, but not know anything about it. We also noticed some climbing gear on the rock, that's nice. It was quite an easy find, although the track was wet tough slippery, especially when getting down. Both container and logbook are in perfect condition. Thanks for taking us here.
On the way home from a lovely weekend In hanmer springs. Can't believe I have never ever stopped here b4. Beautiful day for nearly winter. Thanks for the smile.
Thanks amazing rocks. Geocatching is good when it makes me stop and really have a look.
On the way to Hanmer Springs and run the miler.
Had saved a list of hidden months placed cache that I need to find and this was one of them.
