spent 1/2hr looking but was not able to find it. i did find devar's mark on the ground so i know i was looking were it was. looks like it has been removed. Sad

Whoa - sounds like you had quite an ordeal! I will check on the cache next week to make sure it is still there and restocked for your next attempt. Maybe I should add some bandaids! Smile

We weren't huffing and puffing since we came in from the top. We were crying when Spa Susi slipped on the pea gravel and broke her butt. We had just reached GZ and the hard part was over when her feet flew out from under her. She was hurting too badly to join in the search so I halfheartedly poked around the pipe and nearby trees for a while. After 20 minutes in the hot sun we gave up and made our way slowly and painfully back up to our car.

I was huffin & puffin when I got to cache but the view was worth it Thanks Took Incence burner & left Mini tape measure

Sunny day after a week of not to good weather so nice day to try for the few caches in this area. I have spent a lot of time in this area riding my mountain bike as I used to live close to here. We parked at the bottom of turner rd and walked up the old road that has a sign saying no entry. I don't think it meant us. Good walk up the road, Thought we might have to jump a fence as the gps was pointing 90° to the road. but there is a entry point to a track that leads right up to the cache. very steep though so we understand why they call it huff & puff.
First cache I have come across that didn't have a pen or pencil so if you are going out to this one please take a pencil to put in it.
took: small ball.
left: calling card & Creed CD.

Going up wasn't too bad, coming back down on the pea gravel with two dogs earnestly leading the way was quite interesting, a good way of testing one's ability to maintain one's balance! One nearly stacked it several times. Cache located, no pen, no pencil and alas the mysterious depths of my bag failed to yield writing implement. Did as best I could with a rock. Seriously.

Took: Ballarat Sovereign Hill souvenir
Left: New deck of cards

Found easily enough after a walk up the hill. Cache has an interesting entry from a muggle who had found cache whilst looking for the missing boy last month.

TNLN Thanks for the hunt.

Team Greydemon, reduced to Demon Dad and Billy the Geo-Mutt due to illness and the State Irish Dancing Championships, enjoyed a pleasant stroll to this cache today. Starting at the top of Turner Road (on Canning Mills Rd) we were luckily enough to find a track that took us within 250 metres, from where it was an easy walk across an open area to the GZ. The satellites were out in force and we walked straight on to the cache. Unfortunately in this case what goes down must go up, so we did a bit of Huff'n and Puff'n on the way back to the car.

The cache was in good condition. We took a propelling pencil and left a flashing disco bracelet.
Many Thanks - lovely area only three minutes from home, will walk Billy here again.

A short but steep climb to this one, with barely enough time for the heartrate to catch up. Mama Bear went to sit and wait for the puffin' Papa Bear to catch up and found herself sitting next to a flash of blue plastic. So, the log was duly filled in and the course to the next cache plotted (damn! on the _other_ side of the valley!)

Walked in down that picturesque little road with nice views before huffing up that hill to the cache.

Rested a while in the shade and took in the view. Only had water to celebrate my victory but from the empties around here someone seems to have come better prepared.

The real huff'n' Puff I feel is going to be my return journey back up the long and winding road.

Took: Taxi & Kiwi Pin.
Left: "Occy" Strap / Shoe Laces X 2pr / Safety Pins.

It was cold, it was raining.. and it was getting dark very rapidly.. but i HAD TO GET MY ELMO!!!
So i snuck away from work early (boss was away), drove out to the hills, managed to miss the turn off and drive round in circles a bit... found my spot, wandered up the hill in failing light, got ABSOLUTELY DRENCHED! - had a bit of trouble logging the find in the rain.. so my log consisted of something along the lines of 'got my elmo'

Took elmo (duh)
left pooh (seemed like a bit of a soft-toy cache) - cache is kinda stuffed and full....Very Happy

Thanks

Found this one at 3:09PM after getting nearby cache GCKB0F with Gogetter. Second for the day. It wasn't too bad getting to this one, so I wasn't really huffing and puffing at all! Well hidden.
Played on the nearby tree-house and the talking elmo in the cache scared the bajeeses out of us, we thought we were suddenly under assault by a group of kids before we finally realised the noise was coming from the cache!

Mercy dash made in WET, SLIPPERY and DARK conditions to retrieve Sheamus TB (he has a flight to catch). Huff n Puff doesn't even start to descibe this one. I once was a young fit lad...........WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED ??????

25-Jul-04
Trekked up here today, had three of us buzzing all over this pipe but couldn't find the cache. What did we do wrong?

23-Jul-04
Took Sheamus to his next destination, a quiet hideaway in the Perth Hills.

Hmmm we also pitched up and saw the No Entry Sign. However the gate was open so we sauntered up the road a little. Directly opposite the cache there are a pair of gates both locked straddling the pipeline. I had no log sheet so commonsense prevailed and assuming we were on private property we left. Now that we have checked the logs we will return or in Arnie's immortal words in Terminator "I'll be back!" Twisted

I huffed & I puffed & I found it!!!

Re-visited this one as Drew wanted to introduce his best-friend from school to geocaching, and this is the most local one to us. A good time had by all!

4.00pm: Our last of 5 caches for the day. Saw a couple with 2 kids carried GPSr walking up along road where the sign of “Private Only No Access†(probably another Geocachers), anyway went “cross country†on the right side of the fence where Darling Regional Park sign is located and straight to the pipeline as the bird flew directly. Right on the nose. Saw these people were coming up when I got there (they didn't see when I found the cache). I thought that I would have to climb over this pipeline to find a cache and thankful it was not needed – otherwise it would have been impossible for me if I ever tried haha. Also thankful it was not very steep climbing as Old Cave cache was that we did earlier today. Left: 2 Special K Rewards Cards and massage bar and took a bag clip. Thanks for good climbing exercise and great hunt.

Our third cache of the day, we are the ones Varuna mentioned in her log. A nice easy stroll...saw loads of roos bouncing around in the direction of the cache! Approached cache just behind Varuna so took a little de-tour to check out some of the damage from the recent bushfire, then proceeded back after 10 mins or so. Very well hidden!!
Took Gun keyring and Spoon, left 3 x tazo's, 2 x tealights and a small bouncy ball. A very enjoyable cache, thanks.

We found this with team "Timbo2" it was their second cache so we let them get a bit lost finding it. the GPS was bouncing all over the place from the tree cover so there was lots of walking up and over the Pipeline. We also took the downhill path and walked most of the way, believe us its steep. Its possible to drive in a 4WD but we arnt too sure if they would like you to do that so we decided we would walk or was it scramble down to the cache area. The views are great further up the hill but not as good as the "old Cave cache" (Sorry Team Pathfinder we had to boast). On the way down we found a large bird that looked like tweety in a tree we have put a photo up on the log if you have lost one and would like it back(its still there). The day is a glorious 18c with very little pollution haze, unfortunatly we forgot to bring the binocculars. We have borrowed the puzzle and put in a incence burner holder.

Boast away Lyn Pat & Nat, your "Old Cave" cache is definately in the prime position!!

Ours is just a warm up for the walk to your "Top of the Hill" cache - complementing it you could say. And getting people out of the 4x4's and walking - ha ha.

A NOTE TO EVERYONE

This cache is a walking cache - Pat mentioned you maybe able to drive - the gate was opened to allow access for the fire brigade during a recent fire. Please dont proceed up Turner Road past the first low gate as you WILL be fined if caught. The sign says NO ACCESS and they mean it - walking is allow though. But if in doubt look to your right when parked and note the entrance at the end of the housing - Darling Range Regional Park!!!!

26-May-04
Yes we saw that sign when we were there and we didn't even know if it was open to walkers (a little unclear signage)... here's a pic of the sign.

24-May-04
I was hoping to drive right up to this cache, but I had to park 20 mtrs away (eat your heart out Cache Rangers and TLC). I found the right track first time. It was a great drive down the hill though, testing the Red Roo in several spots. The drive back up was even more testing. T: Screensaver & travel alarm, L: 4 soft toys and a calling card. A great spot for a cache - many thanks.

If ever there was an aptly named cache this one 'fits da bill'.
Great views and a secluded area of the hills. Never been here 'b4' and loved it.
You should all come and see the size of the worms they have up here !!! Surprised
Took - Magnet
Left - Golfing Koala and Calling card
Thanx for the hunt Team Pathfinder.

The Cache Rangers didn't have a '1st' First so we went out to get this one and succeeded. Wet and slippery from the recent rains, it's a good climb. Not a drive by. Found Piglet George TB and decided to take him to a couple places and drop him in our next cache. Left a cool game. Lots of nice stuff in this cache.

Left Piglet George TB - The hot Karratha sun isnt really suitable for a little pig - they get stressed so easily from the heat..
