I looked around for a suitable spot for replacement final cache, but found nothing inspiring, so it is time for this cache to go.
oops! Looks like we printed this one out too far in advance of our trip to NZ!! Still - we had fun finding all the clues in the city. Just a shame that all our efforts resulted in a cremated pencil sharpener!!
Found all the City WP's yesterday (25th Jan) and was preparing to do the coast part. By chance I was into the forums and the posting about the "Cremated cache" caught my eye. Just as well. Look forward to doing the resurrected cache whenever that will be. 2006 or 2007 maybe.

Biked past this one today and unfortunately it was a victim of the recent forest fires - just a small melted pile of plastic is all that remains. The pencil sharpener is the only identifiable thing left. The surrounding bush and scrub has also disappeared so it cant be replaced in in the same location.
We are visitors from Holland and enjoy our stay in NZ. Even more due to the geocaching spots. For this one we had een interesting walk in the town and an easy drive and walk at the coast. It is our last cache in NZ. Thanks a lot Kiwi's!

Did the city bit some time ago, today Andre and I took the walk and found the cache. Our co-ordinates were way out, so had to rely on clue. No swaps. Cheers rexneville. p.s. Andre loved the beach and his stroller wheels in the water...
Dyl and I went on major gecocaheing exercise loking for Victouria, City and Coast, & Canterbury Tales - took most of the afternoon - Found this one at the end of the day with a nice walk through the forest instead of a walk along the beach - thanks
Found all the clues a few weeks ago, but finally got around to finishing this one off today. We were slightly muggled, but still managed some stealth.

Took Liz's mum, visting from Wellington, for a nice walk around the city to gather the info. Nice drive to the coast. One of the clues doesn't seem to be right, but with a bit of tweaking, got to GZ. Very muggly around GZ, had to wait to search and then had to wait again to replace. Took Kiwi badge, left glow in the dark dinosaur. Nice walk along the beach back to the car. Too late for Mr Whippy.
My first cache! I had fun wandering around, and after a few tries and clues I managed to find it!
Picked up the clues last weekend - nervous finish today, hoping that all the pieces had come together . . . success (with a little help from the hint).
Took love heart bracelet - Boo again very pleased with her work. Left golf ball.
Thanks for a great adventure.

Well, yesterday I did all the Central City waypoints for three separate multis, including this one - it made a good walk around the "square mile". But, oh dear, when I came to figure the coords for the coast section - something was definitely wrong. So today I had to go back and check the waypoints to see where I went wrong. Soon all was obvious, and a nice sand-dune walk brought me to the final cache, and an easy find. Thanks for the walk-around. TNLN
Thx To money dork who left his notes at my place.thx for the find money dork and rexneville We left the travel bug in place as i've had this one lol
Liz did all the city bits from work, and we all came for a jaunt for the last bit. Mercury certainly enjoyed the walk.
A bonus was that we realised that a friend had recently moved into a house in the nearby suburb, so we even got a free cup of coffee on the way back. A nice multi, thanks.

Did this one with Mrs Satchimo Cat.
We were only 15 min behind Kiwi Legend.
Nice Multi.

Happy to find the end point of this one, took me a couple of hours to find the bits and get to the final cache location, by then it was dark and I was cursing only having a maglite with me. A bit spooky wandering through the tall bushes in the dark . +/- Nothing.
Whoa! What a multi! Pieced it together in the end, and for the first time with a multi, didn't leave anything out or screw up my maths! Horrah!
Thought I'd be all by myself at the finish, but it turned out to be an exceptionally public place - runners, dog walkers, mountainbikers everywhere ... Decoded the hint for a quick and less suspicious log.
Thanks Rex, I learnt quite a few things and even found one of the mystery clocks for sallies rock around the clock cache!

Excellent cache Rex! Connie and I have spent the last couple of hours on it and really enjoyed the information it uncovered. Took nothing but left a Cheers bottle opener, ex Trotters cache in Otago.
Thanks

My first multi-cache! A fortnight or so ago we set about collecting the co-ordinates for the final location but ran out of time. Got some closure today after a nice walk to the cache. Smart hiding place: not too hard to find but well out of sight.

Ah found at last! Have had a few MTB trips (one which was around 55km) thought town recently picking off parts of numerous multicaches. With everything out of the way, I was able to park in a new subdivision around 250m away from the final cache. I recognised the area around the cache instantly - been past there quite a few times. Made no exchange. Thanks for the cache! Cheers Gav [216]
Well, my first tip is to park somewhere near the waypoints, otherwise you get too much exercise! A nice walk around town, actually learning about things instead of walking straight past. Found ourselves caught on the wrong side of the Avon a couple of times, but oh well.
Ended up doing a midnight raid on the beach. That Gator had been here long enough. A great beach view to appreciate on the walk back too.
Took Gator TB, laser, left necklace from Worsley.

Started this one on a saturday but it was so busy in town I went back on Monday night to finish it. Had to do most twice to get it right. Saw some places I hadn't been to before.
Tonight I could finish the beach part of the cache. However while I was calculating the final coordinates I hadn't noticed the dog chew through his lead and take himself off to the beach. So it was to be a beach walk in the dark. A nice night for a walk along the beach too.
Did question your idea of a metre until I realised I was at the wrong location! A mistake others appeared to have made by the look of it.
Did find the cache in the end and then walked back to the car along the beach.
No exchange
Thanks Rexneville

On such a brisk day, a good walk was just what I needed to get the metabolism working. I knew where I'd be going, thanks to Tumonz and a recent caching visit to the area, so off I went, MP3s pumping from my Palm. (The coastal clue is also a bit redundant, given where the second instance of that variable is...)
Quite a few people around, so I was pleased that I picked the correct feature of the few available within the GZ margin of error.
Took the little dog, left a laser pointer and dropped off Gator TB. A period by a Christchurch beach in winter will make him _really_ keen to get back to Florida!
Thanks for the two pleasant walks, RN!

Walked around the city yesterday picking up clues. Mum is here to visit so it was a pleasant way to spend the afternoon. Went out to the beach this afternoon to finish the clues and find the cache. What a lovely sheltered walk in brilliant sunshine.
Took nothing and left the 'Bird Brain' Travel Bug.
Thanks

Spent an hour or so walking around this afternoon getting the numbers and later found that I had just missed the Sallies at the cache. Ooops, my swap was too large so just uplifted Bird Brain TB (he/she/it's off to the West Coast). Thanks for an enjoyable cache rexneville.
Oops! Sallies just pointed out that you don't actually need to get the value of x to get to the cache. "x" is still a nice spot by the river though!

Went for a wander around the riverside this evening, collecting numbers, plotted the final spot, but decided against a moonlight stroll in the dunes (in suit and sensible shoes!)
It's in the GPSr, though, so next time I'm beside the seaside, I'd like to be beside the sea.
PBL.
