Logs

03-Mar-11
After much soul searching (and 159 finds on the cache), I've decided that the best result for the game of geocaching would be for this cache to be archived. This will allow the area to be opened up for a new cache to be hidden as well as allow a refresh of the area, not that there was any damage in the area anyway. Thank you to everyone who had kind words on my very first cache hide. It brought me much pleasure to read all of the logs over the years. So long little plastic box.

14-Jan-11
I checked the location this afternoon and the cache was no where to be seen.
As this is the location of my very first cache hide, some 6 or so years ago, I'll think about a replacement before I decide to archive the listing.

07-Jan-11
Gutter-kat and I searched and searched, stuck our heads where we shouldn'tve, but unfortunately there was no cache to be found there for us... Even with the clue!!!

26-Dec-10
Oh yes, it was a little less obvious, in fact we couldn't find it. Unfortunately, the GPSr was playing up a bit, and we couldn't see previous logs or the hint, which didn't help. Also, we were having a few snakey thoughts, and didn't like fiddling around in the grass too much. In hindsight I think we were looking where the hint said; but had no joy. Thanks all the same.

17-Nov-10
When I arrived at GZ, there was an obvious tell tale sign where the cache would be so I headed straight in and grabbed it... [^] A little too easy as the camo had not been replaced... Twisted

So, after business was sorted, I tucked the container away and tidied up aroud GZ. Should be a little less obvious now... [;]

Oh btw, I think your tests worked... Big Grin

Cheers caughtatwork

#595 @ 4.35pm. Another cache done whilst waiting for our fellows caching friends travelling over from Adelaide for a caching holiday in Tassie. A really nice area with lots of birdlife, thankfully the locals we all indoors today so made the find and replacement easier on us.

Relatively easy find, though not quite as involved as some of caughtatwork's stuff (but I did note this was the first hidden cache). Still, have seen others in similar locations and even this one took us a little while to find, so well placed indeed. Also, my first trackable picked up! Nathaniel's '98 'vette will need to be moved onto a new home!

12-Aug-10
Bralock and my last cache for the day, there was a bit of vegetative lolling around as we tried to find this one. My GPS went nuts on this cloudy day, and his was running out of power, so I was flying blind and we were running out of time. We found it though! TFTC! TNLN.

Stopped at the nearby park to eat lunch (and let 3yo play) before heading to CCCC 5: Carinya Gardens... wasn't until reading the desc of that one while eating that I realised this one was here. Doh! Needless to say, I grabbed it while I could.

Thanks to the man who let the 3yo use his toilet to avoid a potentially embarrassing and smelly accident.

Nice easy find. TNLN.

03-Mar-10

This is the fifth cache placed by C@W today and was his first hide. You have come a long way since this one and your hiding has improved. Had to wait for a muggle to move on and then it was a easy find but was very careful where I searched owning to the heat and the likely hood of tigers.

Found a spot in the very full log book so a little job one day when you are passing. Thanks another nice area.

It heartens me to see that not even caughtatwork (enviably famous for well constructed LARGE caches) started off using smaller plastic containers like the rest of us. And, not even a sistema or a loc-n-loc! SurprisedRazz
At least the camo was good and this container and location has indeed stood the test of time.
Left: Funky Traveller TB.
The logbook was full and I didn't have a spare one with me. [B)]

Thanks caughtatwork, I hope my first cache lasts as long and that I can progress to the type of quality hides and containers that you have.

We had bought 2 TBs from Adelaide that needed to be in Melbourne. Only had time for a couple of caches as they get in the way of the rest of the families shopping. I thought we came over for the tennis.

We stayed at Ashley Gardens Caravan Park so this one was ideal.

Ahhh, our 1200th cache today and the last for the day. As we were both tired, we decided that if we found this one it would be our last as we were satisfied with doing 20 caches today. A nice little park it was too with the serene surroundings only spoiled by the trail bike riders on the opposite hill.
Thanks C@W for all your caches and we will do some more when we come back this way in the new year.

Found by Mr Emu & Demon Boy @ 10:45 a.m., GAFF1 http://wiki.geocaching.com.au/wiki/GAFF . #7 of 43 on our big "get to 500 or bust" day.

This turned out to be the first of many "wetlands in the 'burbs" type caches we found today. The funny thing is, you start to think that ALL of the newer suburbs are next to creeks or in reclaimed swamps. Hmm, maybe they are? Good to see that some effort has been made to preserve a piece of the natural habitat, rather than converting it to concrete and storm drains.

A nice, easy find after our recent problems at CCCC:Carinya Gardens. Thanks for the cache caughtatwork.
