this cache was hidden in a great spot and it was a really enjoyable find TFTC
Wow Team Crakers, 20 years ago you thought this would be a great start for your Wooden Work Series. I wonder if you ever imagined the series to be as successful and well-loved as it is. Amazing!I agree that this is a fitting start. I stood tiny, in awe of the giants before me, both upright and fallen; a magical place. The GPS was a little wobbly this did not matter as I had my own PAF with me (and I could have read the hint!). Found and signed. Thanks Team Crackers for series. Fav from me.
We had grabbed the information from WP1 in between the two events at this lovely park, and grabbed this cache on our way through to the next caches on our radar. A quick find once we had our bearings about us. Tftc Team Crackers

Thanks for placing this multi that truely pays homage to the majestic trees in the area. You can understand why they logged them, but thankfully not here anymore. The standing giant and the fallen giants really make you appreciate nature.
We were here for a CITO @ahomburg and “Friends of Gembook Park” group, and couldn’t pass up this cache

Another team crackers cache!
And Wooden Work #1!
What an honour!
Left the car and family at the playground, and i ran down to locate the cache.
What a wonderful trail.
Cache was found no problem, and covered with a piece of timber when i left as it was a little exposed.
If you walk about 6 meters from the path up the hill, there is quite a wombat hole!

Alas I think we buggered up a calculation somewhere and had a dnf. Pouring rain and soaked through clothes meant we needed to find somewhere warm and dry. Will try again next time we are in the area.
TFTC nice little walk. The tree at the other end of the boardwalk - WOW. Interesting they have just hidden the old timber under the boardwalk. Cache all dry and safe
Headed out for a walk along the trail today with the weather forecast to turn for the worst over the next few days
Left Gembrook at 9.30am made it to Cockatoo for lunch and arrived back in Gembrook around 3.00pm
Picked up a few random caches on the way
All found in good condition, considering the damp environment
A late afternoon find. Return visit needed to investigate the reserve further
Many thanx to Team Crackers

Back to try again, to redeam the sad face I left last time. The early morning walk to GZ was nice with the sounds of the birds awakening. Finally located cache, im not sure what I was doing last time because it was exactly were I thought it should be.
Found it! We almost gave up! Then read a few logs and tried again!
Thanks for the cache!

while walking the adventure lab I figured I would try and pick up this multi.. once coordinates were in hand I was excited about hitting GZ as it was a place I had wanted to come back and explore. But at GZ I had an epic fail. I'm not sure if Hints might have thrown me off or if animal may have moved the cache or if I just had thing totally wrong.. but in the end I decided to walk away and call it a day.
There 2was plenty of work going on around the area when we arrived. Part of the road was closed, but we finally managed to get a parking spot close by. With the information obtained and calculations done it was off to GZ. The grandkids got diverted by another playground they spied so Mr SKI continued to GZ for a quick find.
We had a quick trip to New South Wales to return some of our grandchildren home, so what better way to break up the journey than to stop and try some caches, or treasures as our grandchildren call them on the way. This worked well on the journey there as we managed a couple of traditionals, a multi, puzzle and Adventure Lab. We also found quite a number of playgrounds and an amazing pubic toilet at the Gembrook Puffing Billy Station. Rain set in for all of the journey home and we were able to squeeze in one traditional only when we arrived art a possibility coinciding with a break in the rain.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Team Crackers.

Out and about today to attend a couple of events and pick up some caches along the way. After completing the CITO I met up with ilukaperi at WP1
Info quickly found and we were back off to a fimilar spot. Arrived to find others searching and it wasn't long and the cache was in hand.
Some beautiful big trees in this area.
Thanks Team Crackers

So this was a nice easy multi and after attending the CITO, PrezDough, Robert740 and myself decided to chase down the final GZ here.
Having a few different eyes, we soon found the container tucked away and only after reading the hint.
The cache, container and log are in excellent condition.
We visited 3 TB.

Found with CJDenno and Robert740. We just left the CITO and we saw everybody leaving to solve this fairly simple multi. We answered the maths questions and went straight to GZ. We realised we were there not too long ago… We left the posted coordinates and got tricked by the hint. We eventually understood the hint and found it immediately after we understood the hint. The cache, container and logbook are all in magnificent condition.

Big impressive trees here! Always on a multi mission so after the nearby CITO it was time to span the wings and explore the areA. After finishing the nearby CITO a group of us took this slight detour to collect this multi. It didn’t take long for the cache to be located and log signed.
Did d some calculations and realised I’d be retracing step but a beautiful location so who minds! TFTC and the fun!

Found with a large group on the way out of the CITO. What a magnificent tree near GZ! Thanks for the cache
I am camping out east this weekend to participate in Manfred’s birthday events and then help host the Pizza by the Campfire night. There are plenty of caches and activities on the activity list and this was one of them.
After completing the CITO we dropped by to complete this multi. Many hands make light work and papi4506 came up with the good.
Thanks Team Crackers for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to find.

After the first celebration of Freddy's birthday, and pulling out massive quantities of forget-me-nots, it was back to looking for Tupperware in the bush.
So this is where this series started...
The weather for a bit spotty as the CITO wound down, but, undaunted, I joined locus cache and queenant89 in a detour on the way back.
Thanks, Team Crackers, for this and the other caches I've enjoyed in this series. It was good to see you this morning.

I was over this way for the weekend to attend all of Manfred’s birthday events.
Due to unforeseen circumstances resulting in me missing his birthday breakfast this morning but hopefully I can make it up to him at lunch.
So after attending the nearby CITO a group of us met up and attempted this one.
A great tree was located and after a bit of scratching around one of the team soon located this one.
He also managed to find a leech or 2 in the process.
Great to find another oldie out in the wild.
Thanks Team Crackers TFTC

After a busy morning with the CITO and the rain starting shortly after, I headed out with a couple of cachers to do the nearby lab cache and also did this cache too. Crack'n'Leelee and I realised it was near where we had already been, and ended up walking the long way there. Found some people already searching, we all looked more, until I read the hint which gave us the hiding spot that someone had already searched just not far enough.

A pretty little walk and a beautiful location with a stunning old tree. We were delighted to find the little fairy door at the bottom. It was just a shame after the leech experience geo-pup couldn’t enjoy the walk and was instead carried by The Welder.

Working right at the spot where I needed to get the information, I worked out the details on a break. Once we were finished I needed the toilet stop nearby and continued on to find this one.
Love this one love to walk nice easy multi short walk and found it but well worth a walk thanks for bringing us here Team Crackers. Love the history of the loggers
**Found 11 July @12.17pm**
**The Solve:** Straight forward, if you look at the right plaque! I’d left my phone in the car and had wandered off whilst geohubby parked. I had forgotten what info I was looking for, so looked at some other plaques for info… Getting back into the car, I realised my mistake. Hey, it was cold and rainy!!
**The Adventure:** Setting off with coords, we found a massive tree branch across our path, but realised we could climb over. Once that was done it was a fun find. This is now our second Wooden Work cache in the series. Still singing Amii Stewart’s song “You Gotta Knock, Knock, Knock on Wooooood…..”
Thanks Team Crackers for placing and maintaining this vintage cache, and the series. Cache on.

Another multi beckoned in Gembrook, where we had stopped for lunch on Good Friday. GZ was calculated and a bushwalk ensued and we found the cache and signed the log.
Covid-19 restrictions are now lifted and Geocaching is allowed so it is back on line.
Due to the new Covid 19 restrictions Geo Caching is not a reason to be out so we are disabling our caches untill safe to enable again.
Please stay home and be Safe.

Follow the instructions and you can't go wrong. Thanks again team Crackers. I'll have to look up some more in this series.
One of our favorites but a bit hard because we were looking from the wrong end. Great spot made us to ant to visit again.
Nice to come across the first in this series as we spend the Australia Day weekend in Emerald away from the NE of the State and the bushfire traumas. Did our maths and loved our walk in the bush. SL at 8.06pm Took a few photos and then headed to #15 to complete our day of caching. #6823 TFTC Team Crackers - nice to get a smiley face on this one.
I’ve done a few of these Wooden Work series all over Victoria. All have been at least interesting and often fun as well. I’m surprised it’s taken so long for me to get around to doing No. 1! Unfortunately my knees prevent me from doing long walks and steep or uneven ground at the moment. This was just at the limit of my abilities at the moment and was my first for the day. I’m so pleased I did it. I love exploring this type of forest and for once in recent days there wasn’t any smoke in the air we were breathing. I was pleased to find that the hint was still good use. Favourite point worthy!
Great location with some massive trees. Grew up around here but never took notice of the the giants that were around. TFTC.
Thought I would give this multi a try whilst in the area & thankfully got it right... TFTC
After a few weeks of limited caching I had a free Saturday to head out and grab a few caches. I had spent the morning in the inner northern suburbs with a friend but once he had to duck off to family commitments I headed out east. Mid-afternoon I ended up in Gembrook with a view to following the rail trail back towards Cockatoo. I spotted a couple of multis and a puzzle nearby that I decided to tackle first. I grabbed the info for this one but once I calculated where it was I grabbed the others first. My route then took me back near this one and I parked up and continued on foot. A great location for the final here and great to visit on a pleasantly warm afternoon. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for this cache and the Wooden Work series Team Crackers. I have picked them off here and there on my travels over the years..
We sent the other Triton off to get a solved puzzle while beckNmonts and I started at the beginning, the very beginning of this wonderful series , we wonder if you only realised how big it would become! With some numbers calculated we set off to enjoy the adventurous walk through the wondrous Gembrook Park. What a lush area it is with great ferns and ginormous mossy mountain ash specimens. Only using the iPhone we zeroed in on the giants impressive butt and found ourselves a cache .
Thanks Team Crackers for such a beautiful location to begin the wooden Work series.
A favourite point for the location.

Merry Christmas. So pleased to be able to get the first one of this series. We have done quite a few but still more to go. A great day out and fabulous caches. Thanks for bringing us here and this series.
Absolutely love that there are still some caches placed before we even knew of caching. Thanks so much for the maintenance that it has taken to keep this so. Very grateful. Happy festive season.
Found at 1630 as a bonus cache after completing the Cockatoo-Gembrook trail with SirJ-Oz and Muggle-L. This was a pleasant stroll in the kind of bushland that I like, and I even managed to call where the cache was likely to be as we approached GZ - but then like the fool I am I trusted my GPSr which wanted me to walk another 10m, and SirJ took the prize.
Thanks for the cache Team Crackers.

Find #4049. Found @ 16:33 with AmethystPig and Muggle-L
My self-appointed challenge for the year is to get 1000 finds for the year, and I've fallen behind in that. To get me closer, AmethystPig, Muggle-L and I decided to walk the Cockatoo to Gembrook trail.
Now that we'd walked the trail, there were still some nearby caches to find. AmethystPig and I had chatted about the feature at WP1 on the drive up, and now we were looking at it. Numbers were manipulated and coordinates were determined. Muggle-L moved the vehicle while AmethystPig and I hoofed it to meet her. We made the stroll to GZ where I made the quick find. Wow, some of those trees are huge!

Not sure why I hadn't done this earlier as I've looked at it several times. Very simple multi and a short pleasant walk today. Sat enjoying the peace for too long after signing the log and collected a leech but lovely to be back here. I have walked the whole track a couple of times and love it. Thanks Team Crackers
At the listed coordinates we found the required information. Did our calculations and entered the new coordinates into our GPS. As we neared GZ, we passed by the "living giant". Wow! Then the "fallen giant" was spotted. Cache was easily found. Thank you so much for placing the cache here for us to enjoy such magnificence. TFTC Team Crackers.

Down from Queensland for a long weekend, enjoying the Victorian Winter, the scenery and everything this area has to offer. The coordinates were calculated quickly and off we went again very keen to sign another log. After a little search we found the cache, signed it and placed it back. On our way to the car a red belly black snake was soaking up a little warms from the sun and we had to do a little detour. Thank you for bringing us here and thank you for the cache Team Crackers.
Perfect weather for caching day with crank1. Travelling from Emerald to Gembrook. Puzzle solved. Nice and found. Thanks Team Crackers for the multi.

I guess this is the beginning of wooden work really. I stopped here and did the required calculations for GZ. I was quite pleased I had my walking poles today, as it was quite slippery, but it’s always nicer in areas like this with a bit of drizzle. I made a quick find at GZ thanks to the hint! TFTC Team Crackers
The geokids and I had a free day and decided to take a ride on Puffing Billy to Gembrook. What a gorgeous Autumnal day! Once in Gembrook we had some time to kill, so with icy poles in hand we decided to scurry around and find these two multi’s. Great caches, lovely walk and all around good day. Thanks for the caches Team Crackers!
Suscoe had a big day out along the Puffing Billy Alignment today.
It was glorious sunshine, very gentle breezes and no too many vehicular muggles spoiling the fun.
We started out from Ferntree Gully bright and early and ending our easterly journey at Gembrook.
We had a brilliant day out, thanks to all those kind cachers who placed some caches in delightful spots along the way.
Thanks to Team Crackers for this multi, what a great spot for the final. Well we were really pleased that we finally got the one that started this series off.
Well done M&D for this location.
A favourite.

In the area doing CO maintenance and trying to put smiley faces everywhere nearby.
After spending 10 minutes reading the plaques at the War Memorial, I checked the GPS and it was saying about 30 meters. Much easier to work out the puzzle when reading the information off the right plaque.
Then enjoyed a nice stroll ti the gz, enjoying the environment.
Eventually found the cache at 9.30 am, after taking too long to find it and needed a bump on the head from the walkway to wake my brain up.
Future cachers - please be aware that the old wooden plants have rusted nails in them.
Thanks for the cache Team Crackers

A day out around Emerald, Cockatoo and now to end our days caching here in Gembrook. I think Square_pegs chose the right cache for our last find today. This is a magic location and then GZ, just WOW! The rain had calmed down just in time for us to walk to the cache and take in the awesomeness of being here and feeling so small next to this giant. Thanks Team Crackers, have a favourite point.
This area is fantastic. After gathering the clues, we set off for a walk along the trail with the wet weather making everything so fresh and fragrant. We arrived at GZ and marvelled at this magnificent specimen, it seems to go on forever! A little look and we soon found this neatly hidden container. I love caches that highlight locations like this.
Thanks to Team Crackers for placing this cache.

I was walking passed with my little walking group so I had a quick check. All good, cache lovely and dry and ready for the next cacher to find it. Visited a TB.
Today we explored the area between Cockatoo and Three Bridges using geocaching as a guide and picking up a few caches on the way and this was one of them. A straight forward multi and an easy find.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Since moving from New Zealand I have been enjoying the area, exploring and finding caches. I have got a nice streak going and hoping to let it run for as long as possible. This may or may not become easier now that I have found a job but I’m still currently staying with my brother (stinky tom) and his family which includes my nephew (stinky bob).
Thanks for the hint too.

After finding #5 in the series, I decided to hop in the car for a short drive to the original. Once at GZ, I and the kids were amazed at the size of the "living giant" and soon after had the cache in hand not far from the "fallen giant". Thanks for taking us to this great little park and tftc
We solved this one while we were waiting for our pizza to be cooked for tea. We didn't have time to look for the cache today, as we had to get moving to make it to an event on time, but we did have a truly excellent pizza for tea, even if it was a little pricey. Thanks for the cache, we will be back.
So *this* is where it all began, eh? Not sure how many *Wooden Work* multis I've completed at this point but it seems like quite a few. I felt a little bit like a pilgrim reaching the birthplace of a holy figure. Or at least the starting coordinates for an extremely uncomplicated multi. Actually, it wasn't as straightforward as it could have been in the end. A 'working bee' was in progress right on GZ when I first attempted to retrieve the cache. I signed the log some three hours later, on my homeward journey. Thanks Team Crackers!
Whoa that was one big tree! Geodaughter had a school holiday activity just up the road. While we waited for the others to arrive, we popped down to get the information we needed and sat in the car to do the calculations. After the activity was over, we went for a nice short walk to GZ. Saw some huge trees and couldn't believe yet another patch of fabulous nature was tucked away so close to houses and shops, yet seemed a world away after a few minutes walk.
There was a small tree branch down right where the cache was hidden, so I dragged it across far enough so we could reach the spot we needed. I did the deed of retrieving the cache while Geodaughter found an appropriately sized stick and some mud so we could sign the cache. Yes....we left all the pens in the car....sigh so we signed as ST4 in a lovely shade of Gembrook red.
Thanks for a lovely experience and for showing us another bit of our wonderful area.

Found it! This is another one that we had figured out a long time ago but even though it is not that far from source of its clues, we never got around to actually finding it. So today with Kelly and geokid 3 off paddling after a few T5's, Mark and the other 3 geokids decided to finally come back and finish off a few around Gembrook. We made our way down to the final WP and were planning on a simple search, we were wrong! First problem was our GPSr which refused to lock in to less than 15m, then poor geokid 4 fell off the boardwalk and grazed his tummy. After administering some first-aid (a good old fashioned dad hug) we had another read of the cache description and noted the hint after which we were able to find the well hidden little bugger...TFTC...
Found while out working with geobrother in the area we thought why not one multi while we can TFTC.
Catching up on a few late logs (something not that unusual for me). As always, I enjoyed the journey to find the cache, mostly I have been in the company of Team Crackers, maccamob, alansee and the Coffee's, but occasionally I have gone out solo to soak in the solitude of being out in the fresh air.
Thanks Team Crackers for placing this cache.

Being in the area to do maintenance on another of our caches we thought we better drop by this one to check it is OK.
It has moved slightly from where we hid it the board walk had collapsed and the hint has changed to suit the new location.
Other than that all in good condition.

Driving around on a beautiful spring day in Gembrook. Gathered the information quickly but didn't want to disturb a young couple near the entrance to the trail. So I headed up to the station to complete that one before heading back for this one. Thankfully the couple had left and I nipped down the trail to sign the log. Thanks Team Crackers
[red]Find #2729 Multi Cache #138 [/red]
After an early rise with the Geo kiddies, we had some breakfast and we were on our way for a day of exploring. We always love coming up to the hills, a childhood that I loved. This was our sixth find for the day and second multi. We pulled the Geo vehicle up at the path to gather the information needed. the geo kiddies loved the tree and wanted to be all over it before we moved the car to start the walk. The area was muggle free and with only a short walk needed, we were off. There were a heap of bugs around, we were hoping that they had already eaten their breakfast like we had. We soon found our way to the location and had the container in hand quickly. Stamped and replaced as found.

What an awesome walk with some absolutely mind blowing trees. I am not much of a hippy and i'm even a carpenter who probably has some cause of cutting these trees up at times but i do respect these giant trees of the forest and the majestic value of these great giants. They are everywhere at this location and they are unexplainable and no picture does them justice better than to go there and run your eyes over them...History lesson learned here and beautiful walk achieved with OzHockeyChick.
The cache itself was hidden well and at the place it was hinted and the sleeping giant almost makes you feel sad.. Go find this one .....it is a nice quick one with plenty of opportunity for a few hour picnic with some value to it...

Travelling around Australia in our Caravan with our cat.
Staying in Neerim today we had to head back to Packenham for an appointment but we decided to go via Bunyip State forest for a multi we had started. Sadly that became a DNF but we still managed to enjoy our visit to Bunyip Forest and of course found a few other caches. Exiting Bunyip forest we found ourselves in Gembrrok. Info collected then off to the final here. Nice spot.
TFTC and letting us use Geocaching to tour the local area. Looking forward to meeting other geocachers at the next Australian Geocaching Mega event

Geo daughter and I were in the area picking up a Christmas present so we decided to do this quick multi. It is really nice to do #1 in the series we have done a few of these and they are great, We really like team Crackers they always do a good cache and geo mum is a big fan of mountain ash so this cache was thoroughly enjoyable. I wanted to get all the caches done in this area as I want to place one of my own I love this little reserve about 12 months ago a photographer friend and I used it to shoot the geo children as Hänsel und Gretel (see photos attached). I knew exactly which big tree the cache would be at. It was located and the log signed a first geocache for our muggle friend and her daughter. TFTC SL TNLN TBV
My first ever Geocache!!
I was here with my mum while she and her friend took photo's, her friend found this and a few others on our visits to the area and I got curios. I have just started my ow cache page so though I should log it now.
A great area.
I think the name of the cache is good for my first cache too!

Found @ 12:43pm, find # 3347.
A last minute day out with biggles1024, back to where we were a few nights earlier.
As this one was very close by, we went for a look. We gathered the information required, then headed off to GZ where we picked where the hide would be on approach, the only problem was we couldn't find it.
We searched some more and checked the hint and finally it was just sitting there in a spot that had already been looked at. The log was signed and we were on our way before the approaching muggles got too close.
Thanks to Team Crackers for placing this cache.

Find #1293
I received a phone call from my caching partner, Stemicmitsar this morning asking me if I wanted to go caching today. Too right I did! I quickly gathered my belongings and we headed back to Kurth Kiln Park where we had enjoyed considerable success just three days ago.
I'd done a few of this series and so it was great to be able to find the very first one. The maths was simple and then it was off to GZ. We had to use the hint because our GPSr didn't want to behave and even then, it required quite some searching. Dodging a family of muggles made signing the log and returning the cache interesting also.

Collected some info and found a quiet spot to sit and work out where to go next.
Oh..., a short stroll and soon the log was signed.
Took the "high road" on the way in and the "low road" to get back out.
It made for a longer walk but it was worth it to wander amongst these tall locals.
Dazza the Drop Bear Travel Tag enjoyed the area too.
A very pleasant multi indeed. Cache in good order.
Thanks for the cache Team_Crackers

After completing advanced scout training at the nearby Gilwell park, this was a pleasant stop on the way home. Having gathered the required info at another time, I was only left with a short stroll to GZ to locate this little cache amongst these giants. TNLNSL. TFTC. KemS.
