A change in direction has made me decide that this cache is too far away for maintenance, so it has to go. Thanks to all who have visited.
Staying in Dwellingup for the weekend and we started the day with a drive around the tracks. This is our first cache of the day found easily and in great condition. Thanks for placing for our enjoyment.
Out on an adventure with Barnzy12, taking the Captiva on one last potential outing before handing it back in. TFTH
Headed out today with Cravo10 to Lane Pool Reserve and the Nanga Brook area to complete some caches that we have wanted to get for a long period of time.
Great day out in the bush, finding several caches which hadn’t been done since 2018 was a great thrill.
Put the car through its paces and it came out in good shape.
Thanks to the COs for their caches we had a great day.

Out on a caching adventure with parkacruz. Sunshine & rain, wallabies, roos & echidnas....we had it all today oh & lots of fun too. TFTC Team Red Roo
We headed out with PP2 to collect some more smilies, we had a fun filled day playing in mud puddles and slippery tracks, we were lucky enough to encounter a great variety of our beautiful wildlife whilst managing to collect some less loved caches TFTC Team Red Roo
Found whilst camping at Stringers campsite, Dwellingup. A wet and cold winter camp cheered up by camp fire and marshmallows. SL TSLS. Cache dry and OK (unlike our tent!)
Spent the log weekend as camp cooks for our churches youth camp at Nanga.
Had to do a run into Dwellingup for some supplies so made a small detour here for the find.
Took a couple of wrong turns and found 1 locked gate before finding the right track.
Great to see a large cache still active, giving this one a fav point. Took the pathtag inside too. TFTC

A lot of fun was had here, as wedecided to make this one our last one before hitching the camper and heading home. We took one way which would have taken about 200m of climbing and pine forest bashing, kept going, came to a locked gate, so turned around and found the right tracks which took us within 40m of the cache. A short walk (blackberries?) and the cache was spotted. SL, all good with this cache. TFTC TRR and a fave for the fun getting there!
Sorry guys for such a late log, but m4yb just alerted me to my error, so I am really scratching the old "salt water bag" to bring up the real details, but after reading her log and looking at the location on the map, good solid vivid memories come back. A real treat of a cache and location, so a well deserved fav point from me. and thanks for taking us up this track to the views and scenery.

Needed to clean up a few strays around this area ...... glad I took the right track as the bramble thorns were very sharp .......

Although its been on a 'must do list' for a very long time, this was our first visit to Lane Pool. The experience exceeded our expectations, we will be coming back sooner rather than later. So happy to have been able to grab this oldie. Negotiated a few tracks before finding the correct access. Steep, gravelly ascent to the top, geo-hubby glad he fitted the new Coopers last week. Parked within 40 mts and made our way through the brambles to make an easy find. Log book is damp and could do with a new plastic bag. Perhaps next cacher in could do the honours. Thanks Team Red Roo,
great find.
I did it the hard way going straight up the steep hillside through the brambles and pine forest, cool adventure..

Found it - this seems to have become a popular drinking spot and has a lot of rubbish around as well as quite a bit of blackberry growth. Cache needs attention as water is getting in to toolbox. We seem to have been the first ones here for quite some time. Cheers.
Found finally. Last attempt was 2010! Grabbed trackable and will move it along its journey.
Had a go at this one a few months back on a day trip to Lane Pool Reserve but the family lost interest once I started up the hill so we turned around and found a picnic spot by the river somewhere.
Well back in the area this weekend for the Captain Fawcetts 4x4 Adventure Event and I had this one down as a must attempt while I was here. Packed up my gear from the campsite at Nanga Mill, said my goodbyes and made a beeline for this cache.
After a couple of wrong turns and closed gates I made it to the top of the hill without too much trouble. Jumped out of the GeoTriton with the GPSr showing about thirty meters to GZ, that's when the fun started. I thought I had found a suitable walking trail but it started to turn into a fight between me and the thorny vines that seemed to be concealed everywhere. The GPSr wasn't behaving, sending me to a spot 10 meters away, then when i got there it would point 10 meters in another direction, each time an unseen thorn would pierce my skin somewhere. Didn't help that 'Mr Idiot' here thought that shorts and thongs would be OK.
Thanks to the hint I spotted a likely candidate for the cache and after a further five minutes of scratching and swearing I had the log book in my hand, did the signing duties and walked out along the nice easy trail back to the car. (Always the hard way in, easy way out!)
This one gets a favourite for finally crossing it off my to-do list.

Found whilst spending the day in the Lane Poole Reserve with my family (jasenjanine)... TFTC Team Red Roo
When we first moved to WA we briefly looked for a way to this one, but after coming to alot of dead-ends saved this one for another day... Today, I was in the area doing some preparation for our upcoming event when I was headed towards home & thought that I might just try & see where this road goes As you do!!!
I don't know what the kids must have thought of my excitement as we kept winding our way to the top... They probably thought I'd just gone mad or something Anyway I was so happy to pull up in a nice shady spot 60m from GZ... Woo-Hoo!
TFTC and the adventure today Team Red Roo... The cache was soon found after manoeuvring the kids through the blackberry bushes. They came out unscathed, although I ended up with a stack of battle wounds & twigs in my hair [:o)] Cache was in fair condition, I took out the rubbish & food items which I found in the cache... All should be good for now.

On a camping trip with geosquids we decided to find at least one cache during the lazy afternoon. Most caches were on other side of river so this one was a no brainer. Was a bit of a challenge without map just following gps arrow but eventually got to spot and spotted a very likely hiding spot once there. Thanks for a easy find but challenging find. Ps also saw some wild pigs on approach.
Took a while to get to this one by road with all of the gate closures in the area. Worked it out pretty quick once the car was parked. A good one to find - lots of exciting goodies for the kids to look at. I had 4wd, don't think that I would tackle the last part of the drive in my Liberty though.
Found this one on a nice drive from Dwellingup. Its a great spot. Just such a shame the some campers neglect to take their rubbish with them when they leave. But otherwise a beautiful area to visit.
Found cach after big walk through the bush with bigbenwilliams great cach lots if black berry scars from this one
Cruisin some gravel, tryin to avoid locked gates, and I go past the track this one sits on. So I encourage the group I'm with to go for a 200m hike on a beautiful spring day to introduce them to the world of caching.
They were amazed.

Yeehaa!! So much fun getting up to this one - more good luck than anything else in picking the right track to take, but I got there. Humungus fungus around here, lots of blackberry brambles too (ouch!), and nearly got accosted by a huge boomer whom I must have disturbed from his afternoon slumber - came bounding through the trees right near me, scary. Took TB and Kangaroo badge, left marbles. Whole experience was quite exhilarating, so thanks Team Red Roo.
On a run to explore Dwellingup and chase down a few caches in the area. A beautiful mild sunny day, just right for a walk in the bush.
This was our 5th for the day and we decided to walk up the hill for the exercise rather than drive up. Found the nice sized ammo box well hidden near the top of the hill. Signed the log and left one of our stretchy lizards.
Also left the Sydney Eternity Geocoin which we picked up at the OZ Mega in Albury 2012. The coin has GC3E on the back which is Australia's oldest remaining active cache in Lane Cove Sydney, so it seemed appropriate to leave this in Lane Pool reserve. We picked this coin up a week after we visited the (now) virtual cache and didn't really want to part with it
Thanks for the cache Team Red Roo - we enjoyed the walk. [^]

Found today with wot, who has already found it before, but came out here to let me find it
Easy find after doing laps trying to find the right way in. Saw a massive bush pig run across the track as we were driving in as well! First time I've ever seen one!
Dropped off the Teutonic Knights Geocoin.

The notes suggest that any car could make it up to the top, This is the case and I don't mind a few branches down the car, but some of the bush is starting to grow over the track so if you dont like scratches park at the last turn and walk the last 100m or so in. Also the track is slightly rutted.. But worth the walk to get it.. TFTH
Work our way closer from a couple dead ends but have to walk up from gate.
Would have been a great view from there before the trees grew.
Daughter swapped her neck lace for the British Bobby Geocoin. She wants to move it to somewhere special to her. Will get it there soon.

Not to be put off by the limb of a dead something hanging from a nearby tree (!), we found this one fairly easily. Left a geocoin, took nothing. Thanks Team Red Roo
After reading how many people found dead ends we thought we did pretty well to drive straight up to it (no back tracking for us).
Bit disappointed with the amount of rubbish left behind by people using the spot.
Anyhow, cache was easy enough to find. TNLN

Took us 4 dead end roads to finally get to this one, Oh and some nice 4x4 tracks too..
Out on the Bibbulmun Track for a few days and did a slight detour to find this one. TFTC
We took a small detour from the Bibbulmun to find this. We had hoped we could take a shortcut back to the track but with backpacks on it turned out to be easier going back the way we came. TFTH.
Came back to this one again for old times sake. Still in good nick. Well hidden still.

Some looked hatched and others whole, so placed it back with extreme care.

Quick find after 2 nearby FTF and 1 DNF. Last day of 12 day geocaching holiday in the southwest. TFTC TeamRedRoo. Area is full of rubbish though now. Wonder how long till cache get's muggled.
I'm glad I didn't read the previous logs until AFTER I had found the cache. Despite a couple of U turns to find the right road we eventually were able to park about 15 meters from the cache. Me and oldest son (7) were able to make a quick find even with bare feet. Lovely quiet spot to camp too. TFTC
Having read previous logs I didnt hold much hope of a drive to. Perserverence paid off and followed my nose and gps to the top of the hill. Easy find after that. Easy drive if you are careful. Slight washaway on last section. TN LN TFTC
We had lots of fun trying to find the right parking spot but it was fairly easy after that. Definately recommend wearing long pants & sleeves when finding this one... a 'few' prickly berry bushes around [:0]
A nice easy find on a freezing, wet day. Had a lot of u turns at closed gates to get to this one, had fun driving through the puddles! glad i had a 4WD today!! TNLN TFTC
Reached gate after a gravelly descent- definately need 4wd. Cache site covered in blackberry brambles this time of year. Could write in the log book, someone took the pencil! Thanks for a good walk and a well-earned cache. TNLN.
we have been staying at the Naga Mill for the last four days, and found the road leading up to the cache is closed, Maybe for tree logging.
Closest I could get the car was about 350m and that took a bit of work, then it was wander along the bridle trail and eventually an easy find in some very thick bush.
A quick and easy find in a nice spot to introduce some muggle friends to caching.

Made it up there fine (easy in 4wd) on Sunday this long weekend. Guy up there pig hunting, caught 2. Lots of beer bottles and broken glass. Not ideal to get my daughter out of the car so turned around and left without looking for cache. Will try next time we are in the area.
Had a go at this one today, actually came back twice, the first time I got bogged a little bit and once I was free thought I'd better just keep on caching (tried the wrong way in), and then came back again and found the RIGHT! way in. As it was getting dark however I did not quite find the final track to the top of the hill, but now after looking at some aerial maps I was so close - next time!!
4WD is advised for this one. Thought we were going to give up but found our way up eventually. See teamgibney for comments. Lovely weekend for camping.
Found this with Celtic Crusaders on our camping trip to Dwellingup. Fantastic reserve!. It took us ages to find the road up to the top of the hill...and there was no way we were going to attempt climbing it even though at one point we were within 170m of the cache. We kept going round and round and eventually found the dirt track up and were able to get within 37 m of it.(wouldn't advise for ordinary car in wet weather!). Found the cache easily enough. Took nothing and left nothing. The area has had some hoons visit and destroy it with broken bottles and cans. Also some trees had been cut down and burned. Not good! We reported the mess and gave the coordinates to the rangers at the reserve entry gate. They said they were happy to hear it cos they have been trying to find the hangout for some people going in there shooting pigs...they had been hearing gun fire every so often.
Junior juniorgeocacher finally found another one. Fifth for the day. Took a key ring and our first geocoin and left a cub scout promise game we picked up on the Flinders Ranges. Also left a pirate gold coin. The trees have certainly grown a lot since this cache was left.

It took a little while to find the right approach to this one. Made a quick find, removed lots of prickles from our backs, and swapped out a toy car for brother in law (and no, he's not a kid!) and left a pathtag and dropped off a geocoin.
Finally got the chance to get out and get this one. Hoping to see the great views from the top only to discover my Google Earth map was showing how it looked in 2006. Back then it was cleared recently......
This was a nice drive around the area. Climbed the small hill and found the cache very easily. Grabbed 2 TBs and we dropped one off. Left a balloon, a coin and our calling card.TFTH & TFTC
WanderingAus wandered by accompanied by my son Shane, my granddaughter Sophie (4 yrs old) and my grandson Ryan (2 yrs old). When Shane asked me to go to Dwellingup with him I chose this cache to be my 2,000th find, so I was determined we would get there. We must have approached from the wrong direction, having just found GC1XKVT Rocky Outcrop by aussie-O's. We got to within 1.9 CroKs, then out to 4.8 CroKs, then gradually worked our way in, encountering multiple "No Through Roads" and a few gated trails, and even a working grader on River Road. At one stage we were only 190 CroMs away to the East, but the blackberry was far too thick to walk through, and eventually we got further away and at 330 CroMs found ourselves on the opposite side of a gate that had blocked our path earlier.
We doubled back and finally found the right track to the top of the hill, and once there Sophie and I (Ryan was sound asleep in Shane's ute) negotiated the blackberry and very quickly made a GAFF 1 find. Before I left home I had taken out my special "2,000th Find Calling Card", to make sure I had it with me, and then I left it behind on the desk.[:o)] Luckily the Roo Team lives not far from me, so I'll arrange to get it to them, but in the meantime here is the electronic version.
My find No 2000, TNLNSL, Sophie T little Princess doll and a Parcel Post van for Ryan, L Shrek 'Three Little Pigs' figurine and 1997 HRT Bathurst Race Car, grabbed "Qinnan, China" Unite for Diabetes Travel Bug (ref = TB1B4MK), dropped Loved This Cache Geocoin (ref = TB1BPTM) and Keeper of the (Mountain) Cache Geocoin (ref = TB1FGCA), also dropped Ryan's Take a Kid Geocaching GC No 2 (ref = TB31WZF) and my WanderingAus Happy New Year 2008 Gold GC in for a visit before grabbing them back again..
In reviewing my paper notes for the day, I realized that I actually retrieved "Qinnan, China" Unite for Diabetes Travel Bug (ref = TB1B4MK) from GC1HJ30 Nanga Hollow (not) by two+four, but it was logged into this cache. STRANGE[B)][?]

Our 5th cache for the day. We found a track that headed in the right direction but gave up driving on it when we encountered a very steep decline. We left the car and walked the remaining distance. The gate was closed so we would not have gained much by driving any further even if we did have a 4WD...our low AWD just wasn't going to do it. The weather was perfect for a bit of a walk and the cache was soon located. The loose gravel on the track back proved to be a bit of a challenge.
Thank you for the cache.

Not too sure on the right access for this one - first attempt found me facing a bit of a cliff overgrown with blackberries, so did a loop around and found a much friendlier route.

First cache for the day with Two+Four and Ally's Angels, nice easy find TNLN SL
We decided to spend the day geocaching in the Dwellingup area as we where camping for Christmas at nearby Nanga Mill.
After driving through every track but the right one we finally came upon our destination. There are some great 4WD tracks around here and we enjoyed challenging our Jeep and its newly fitted mud tyres.
Plenty of blackberry bushes about, it doesnt seem like CALM can get on top of their erradictation. Unfortunately the area of the cache is a bit of a rubbish tip too - such a nice secluded spot, its a shame people cant appreciate it without dumping waste.
Left one of our signature Pathtags - took nothing.
Thanks Wayne and Kathryn - we have been going to do this one for ages and now finally have.

We also got stopped by the gate and found the way up on the next track. Don't know about the views, all the trees are too big to see over. Bush is getting very dense. We were a little concerned we might lose some of the geokids as we had a few extras with us. Good fun had by all. Thanks for the hunt. Took nothing left nothing.

Had similar experience as the last finder. Took us two attempts to find it. Great experience for new seekers. Two families looking together had lots of fun driving up to the car park a few metres from the spot (on the second day when we finally found it). Logging roads are a little rutted and steep in parts, so 4WD best if you're driving.

We found this one on our second attempt. We drove to about 350 mtrs and was stoped by I gate so we decided to walk in and find the cache, how wrong we were
The closest we could get was about 200 mtrs and so we headed bush and walked up the hill only to be stoped by blackberry bushes every way we turned, we became so caught up in thorns we turned back.
We headed back to the car and got to about 190 mtrs away and I could see a clearing through the pines so we gave it another go only to get maybe 100 mtrs in and so scratched and cut by thorns we had to turn back.
So we went back to the car and headed of to our BBQ area and had a swim in the river at a spot about 20k's away.
On our way back I drove up a different track and found another that looked good, after a little while we parked within about30 mtrs of the container
and then a little while later we had found it. I brought up an ammo container to replace the plastic one as a favor to a friend, so now its a large steel ammo can.
I took the coin while Rhiannon took a key ring and left a frog.
We had a lot of fun working out the best route in and even with the scratches we enjoyed the walk.
Thanks
Andrew, Wendy, Rhiannon, Teresa and Amber.

Great location
Saw the geocoin and would have loved to move it on but ran out of time .
It is amazing that it has come so far .

A late log as I was out trekking the Track. Came across an large, startled emu and chick as I neared GZ. Quite the surprise for all of us. Dropped off Beijing Observatory GeoCoin. TFTC

We finally found the correct route to the top of the hill. It was a nice little hunt and we brought the scouts to find it the next day.
Swapped a D4 for a Glass bead.
Thanks Two+four.

Thanks guys.
I was up here today for a mountain bike race (practise today, race tomorrow) and took the opportunity to drop in.
Nice view from up here, pity about the logging. Left Hot Air Balloon GC, T4TH!
