Found while heading into Alligator Gorge. Lovely Spot, nice view.

Finally had a chance to do this one. I'ts been on my radar for years and I've had the finals for just as long. I was really sad when I seen it get archived but, soooooo glad the cache is still in place. I'll try to chase up some wooden dominoes and replace the broken ones at WP1 if I get a chance soon. I would hate to see this innovative cache be lost forever.

Time to archive this cache...we've run out of domino pieces!

23-Dec-10
Why not turn this one into a traditional cache?

The end location and quality container make it well worth keeping!

17-Dec-10
Sad Not able to complete multi, one of the three pieces, middle component half of it is missing, owner emailed. will try some other time.

This cache has been bugging me ever since I visited the initial waypoint last year. At the time, I simply recorded the possibilities for future analysis.

After eliminating two of the four results, we were glad to be able to finally put this one to rest by visiting the two most likely sets of coords today. An awesome view indeed, as can be seen from most vantage points in this part of the National Park.

Thanks Rav 4 Raiders.

Spot on. Took ages to find the first part of the puzzle - embarrassingly-. Geo dad was all over the tree like a rash, with no result. geo kid found what we were looking for. Right then, off to what we thought was the cache at a suspicious drum we had spotted the previous day. Spot Off. Went to next possible location. Parked cautiously and headed off into some lovely bush. Enjoying the view, while geo kids sought the cache. 9 year old had a huge scare with a bit of wild life and wanted to go back to the car. Geo dad made sure all was safe and all enjoyed the cache. What a great spot. TFTC. Left key ring, took Shaun the sheep note book. GREAT CACHE! Thank you

Cheers!

Loved it! Made way point 1, but didn't have time to back track to the options
Great fun even without the smiley!

What a great cache. We had such a lot of fun & lots of laughs with this one. We found the first part of it yesterday just on dusk, so thought we would leave the rest of the chase until today. We worked out the most likely co-ords & away we went & were lucky enough to hit the jackpot.
Beautiful area with stunning views & a very interesting hide!
No swaps
Thanks Rav4 Raiders.

Anyone contemplating doing this cache should give it a go. It was great fun. We got it first time! How about that. Great views and a great fun cache. Well thought out. Glad the double was there or we may not have enjoyed it so much. Left a kangaroo and a klem bear and took one of the spare pens. Thanks Rav 4 Raiders. A great idea.

19-May-09
Not sure where we went wrong.... Thought we had covered all angles but still finished up in some muggle farmers driveway... Didnt think this was right so thought we would leave it and go and check our sums and try again next time.... Very clever cache idea... Tks Rav 4 Raiders

Early evening, TomTom alerted us to this one and found the first clue on our way back to camp at Melrose from a day hiking in Alligator Gorge. Realised the we'd be doubling back on ourselves and we had a dinner waiting at the Northern Star Hotel, so left this one for next time.
Thanks Rav 4 Raiders & Cheers 'scargoes (P&Fs Escape!)

04-Oct-08
Nice views from GZ. We didn’t linger too long to admire them, as we were on a mission to hike to Mambray Creek and daylight was-a-burning [^]. No swaps. Cheers Big Grin

02-Oct-08
Worked out first part - loved the 'spots' on the tree!!! By the time we got to the final co-ords, it was quite dark, and we chickened out of heading into the bush to find cache as we didnt have a torch with us!

We will be back to find it sometime Smile

#24 of 36 around Mt Remarkable/Pt Augusta today.

Found 1st point, almost didn't finish it today, but sat and calculated the possible gz's. And came up with only 1 probable, so headed off.

Yes, it is nice views from there too.
TNLNSL
Thanks

09-Jun-08
Got the first part- will be back some time to do the rest.

09-Jun-08
We have the first stage of this but time ran out and notes taken for next visit to see the next stage.

20-Oct-07
Got the puzzle but did not persue the final today. Will return when next in the area. Cheers from the Posspet Boys

02-Oct-07
Visited but as we didn't have the clues didn't go further.

01-Oct-07
We found this one on the way for a walk after working it out when we were up in Melrose in April. A quick find. Cheers. MODU.

04-Aug-07
Great cache. Got the clues before we went to Aligator Gorge and then worked out the location after spending some time there. Great view far, far to the north on a clear day.

11-Jun-07
This cache has everything - intrigue, great contents, great location, an original concept and a surprise element. We loved it. Got the possible waypoints late one afternoon then checked them out a couple of days later. Wasn't too hard - the hint eliminated 2 of the possiblities. Didn't have any swaps around the theme, but were glad to deposit some of the larger swaps we have been carrying around. T dominoes set, TB and geocoin and L large water pistol, packet of pens and a comb set. Thanks heaps - one of our favourite caches.

08-Jun-07
Well the first waypoint was certainly novel [^]
I knew that I had found the cache when I caught sight of the cache guard out of the corner of my eye Smile
After climbing back down from the tree I filled in the log book and grabbed a travel bug. Also dropped in a Canberra geocoin Big Grin
Yes! I did curse the cache owner [:o]

08-Jun-07
Dropping in the geocoin Red Face

08-Apr-07
A small detour via a narrow road to a mine was interesting, but found relativly easily after that. A remakable guard to the cache hehe!! Interesting concept TNLN TFTC

20-Jan-07
Just popping past to do a little tidy up. Everything shipshape. Left a couple of TB's.

Cheers, R4R

12-Dec-06
When I drove past recently did a bit of maintenance (At Skippy's request [^] )
Added some paint to the “game pieces†to make them easier to read, Big Grin
However they are getting somewhat weathered and will need to be replaced at some point in the future, but they have lasted well considering! Wink

14-Oct-06
Now this one was freaky for us - we camped up this way on the June long weekend (pre-geocaching) and just happened to stop and have lunch at the given waypoints - the brat boys spotted the game pieces and I said to leave them alone as they were obviously part of some orienteering game or something - of all the places we could have stopped - spooky Surprised

13-Oct-06
I did the first part of this during the Melrose geocaching event 2 years ago but as I was going the wrong way I couldn't finish it. So today I came back because I lost the numbers so I came back to get the numbers again but found it different it when it was back then. I did remember back then there was only 2 different coords to choose from give or take 6 metres. But at closeup it did look like the middle white dot was missing also the end dot was half gone too.
Going by the last finders I narrowed it down to one location, and BINGO I found it.
Took dominoes and Left Golden Turtle that lays the golden egg and kangaroo.
Thanks Rav4 raiders

30-Aug-06
Second time lucky. Walked within 10 metres of it the first time. Colour camouflage was excellent, which made it harder to locate.

24-Aug-06
This is my third exercise for the day. Found the first part. The "double" certainly made it easier, as this reduced it down to only two options. Did not have time to find the cache, but I have driven past it many times, so I am looking forward to lifting it's lid.

08-Jan-06
My first multi and a good one too! With a nice end point.
Cheated by using my mapping program to identify the right spot but had trouble finding it regardless. Walked past it about 6 times
Took Nothing
Left first aid card

12-Dec-05
My first guess put me about 200 metres out into a valley when I went and checked it.
Second time was like Four-fun. I found myself out by about 15 metres so it was 3rd time lucky.
Sam you must be slipping, 3 minutes and you couldnt find the puzzle.
Just wait till I show you the picture you will kick yourself.
Swapped a dinosaur for a slinky (or a keyring cant remember)
Great fun Thanks

20-Nov-05
Had a quick look, but didn't even manage to find the puzzle pieces at the firt location. When I say quick, I mean three minutes, so just not my day.

Think the solution is behind me anyway, so was just collecting for a future visit...

Found the pieces - took a piccy to bring home and try to work this one out. But there was nothing to suggest which way was "up"? So to me, you have 6 variables to use because you have numbers on both sides of the orange line. Maybe I am reading it wrong, but to have so many final coordinates, might make this one somewhat difficult to accomplish.

19-Oct-05
On our way from Port Augusta to Adelaide via Stonehouse Hut for a pie. Decided to pick up the first waypoint for this cache and then opted to detour back and pick up the cache. Loved the idea. Enjoyable drive to final.

TNLN
Thankyou

[B)] We searched and searched and found nothing. We decided if we didn't find the next one it was a bad omen. We'll try again another time. Cheerful Ronnies not so cheerful......but will be backWink

27-Aug-05
Got the info I needed when in the area a long time back but didn't have time to search then. This time it was found in only the second place I looked (1st was 15m away!) A great cache and a fun hunt.
Took puzzle ball and left a big snake to surprise next finder.
Cheers.

07-Aug-05
Really enjoyed this multi, from inoccuous first waypoint had to use all our local knowledge and GPS skill to figure out the positions of GZ. Great idea and really appreciated this cache - Thanks.
A bit of hit and miss butafter second try figured out where in the vacinity cache must be.
Have taken TB Ted and will relocate
Took Dominoes
Left Earphones

18-Jun-05
Great idea for a Multi. Did this over two days, and using a little bit of logic and a lot of laziness, managed to find the right spot first time. Left TB Ted who'd kept me company for two days propped on the front seat of the car up from Jack & Jill's Hill. Happy journeys Ted, maybe we'll meet again some day. TNLNSL Cheers.

27-Mar-05
Loved this one. A fun challenge. After reading Scruff"s comments we were a bit worried. We found this one first time; which was great as we found out later that our logic (understang of Dominoes) in picking the correct Long and Lat that led us to the cache, was totaly incorrect. Took Dominoes; left whistle.

19-Dec-04
We did stage 1 some time ago – what a ripper! I was looking in the wrong place, but B “spotted†it just as I was saying “It’s not hereâ€.
Found stage 2 at second “spot†we tried. Great view though rather hazy.
Took guidebook, dominoes and shark; left puzzle ball, dinosaur and baby koala in the arms of the one already there.
Thanks Rav 4 Raiders for an interestingly different caching challenge.

Found it !

More when we are back in Germany.

TNLN

Thanks for the cache.

Regards, Mattes + PaulHarris

Had a bit of trouble with this one - obviously we do not know how to play dominoes. Got there in the end. Great views. Took dominoes and left fish hooks. Thanks.

15-Aug-04

Cool Cache! Nice. Makes you think without sweating too much out here. A quick plot and off I drove. A cunning diversion first though Big Grin. I LOL when I eventually got to the spot and did the required calculations (of course, I’m never THAT lucky!!!) I LOL even more when I opened the cache.

Thanks Rav’s. I really enjoyed this cache…not to mention the spectacular view around sunset. Beautiful. I took the dominoes and ice and left scissors, whistle and emergency blanket. Clear skies, Astro.

03-Aug-04
Found the starter location with ease. Unfortunately the rest of the cache was too difficult owing to the track conditons. I (Scruff) am a very experienced 4WD driver and an assessor with the 4WD Ass of SA for the training of drivers, but I decided not to try the tracks owing to their very wet and soft condition. Many people in the country rely on tracks such as these for their existance and they can do without cachers 'cutting them up' in search of caches.

I must stress that this is in no way the fault of the RAV4 Raiders, as on a summers day or when the tracks are firm they would present no difficulty at all.

I'll try them again when conditions are better.

Scruff Cool

Yah found it and moved it. Cherrio.

14-Jul-04
This one had a new idea on the multi cache format. Spin those things! Found easy enough, TNLN as had no swaps that matched the clever goodies in the original cache. One of the better caches I have done lately, Well done Rav 4 Raiders.
No Idea about cutting up tracks ?!? This one was good dirt all the way ?!?

Found the cache at the second location we tried and rolled on the floor laughing when we got the box open.

Since we already had an identical box for our travels I was not going to take one. But then James the Newt put on a turn. Now we have two to go.

Three roos including a well muscled buck were in residence at GZ. A really pleasant spot, although low cloud meant no views today.

Picked up SF TB and have moved it to Sacre Cache. Forgot to keep the bug number though. Doh!! I have asked for assistance and will move when we are advised.

Another great cache from you guys. Keep up the clever work.

Found by Mary & David at 1200. Our first drive down this road so we were fascinated by the scenery and vegetation. At the start point we were in hysterics at the ingenuity of yet another Rav 4 cache. At GZ we got lucky as it was our first choice, and bingo! There it was. Through miniature heath just showing crimson, even the rocks were very atmospheric - could imagine a spectacular coloured palette of wildflowers in the right season. Took the proverbial box of game pieces, left a large cooler brick. Also took TB Boondaburra the Platypus to see some more of this wonderful country. TB Silver Fern and a scratchie await the next visitor. Our thanks once more to Rav 4 Raiders - great to meet you all at the Event (and again at all those Event caches yesterday). We have had so much fun.

13-Jun-04
A domino effect and we had the cache as a warm up for before participating in the Remarkable Winter Caching Event. Found with GeoCoopers on route. Cheers to Rav4Raiders

13-Jun-04
Found by Team GeoCoopers
The second of our four virgin caches of the ones placed during the Remarkable Winter Caching Event.
Grabbed one of the games to play with from the cache and left TBB230 Boondaburra the Platypus.
Thanks Rav 4 Raider for a slightly different cache.
