Unfortunately we didn't read the last few logs before attempting. Couldn't find it either, suggest Map Monkey come and check his cache out, and if it can't be found then archive it.

29-Oct-11
We didn't find either. If this many people can't find it, it should be archived. Sure the view is great, but it would be even better with a log to sign.

We're on a trip around the world, now for 3 months in Australia. Today we drove from Townsville to Airlee beach, taking it slowly going south because of the floodings. We had a lovely afternoon here on the beach in Bowen. Thanks very much for showing us! Greetings from the Netherlands.

Second for the day and man - we loved it. We took the circuit and enjoyed the walk and the views. This is definitely the best cache so far in Oz. Therefore we left our little TB Skippy to hop on its adventures.
Just a little hint - we honestly think the terrain should be upgraded to a three star as the last metres are really tough!
Thanks for the cache - it was a great hike!!!!

Found at 8:50hrs. Nice walk up the hill for this one. Rose Bay brings back memories of when I was young. It was the place for school holidays. We knew these hills like the back of our hands. No walking tracks in those days.

First one on a round trek from Queens Beach- the cache kids did us proud by the end of the 2 hour trek up and down hills and through the odd patch of spinifex on route to get all three caches in this area. Excellent view from this one of Bowen although it was very- very windy. Left a pack of cards and a toy car. Took a toy car and a quarter $US.

Four find for the day was made at 1400. Weren't too sure about why this cache had the name it had until we reached the lookout. What a good nameWink!!! 19-Aug-08
GAFF 2 I used the first suggested parking area, found the walking track and only a 300 m climb to the top for a great view to Rose Bay and beyond. Took a little while for the GPS to settle and then onto the cache area after reading the hint but did not look at the spoiler. Once in the area I quickly found the cache as part of it was showing. NI-NO. Rehid the cache the way it should have been, as you cannot see it now. After leaving I started to be bitten all over by green ants who sunk their fangs in and would not let go until I squashed them. Down the track a dark snake received a fright and slid off into the bushes while Bushfire moved very quickly in the opposite direction. Thanks Map Monkey for bringing me to this spot.

19-Jul-08
Found it after a while, even crawling a little under the rocks.

10-Jun-08
Found this one at 12:35pm. What a beautiful location and view...WOW!. I finally decided to drop into Bowen on my way to Townsville from Emerald via Gladstone. It actually took me a few minutes to find this one as I was looking for the obvious pile of out of place rocks. I should have just trusted my GPS which indicated 0metres to GZ (Which it was). Rookie mistake! Doh!

Thanks,

NEXT PERSON TO GO LOOKING FOR THIS ONE - PLEASE - PLEASE - TAKE A NEW LOG BOOK. Any small spiral book will do the trick. Would seem the last maintenance request has been missed as there is no room left in the log book.

24-May-08
This one took us ages - didn't have gps set right - that's our excuse anyway - and we were taken on an extensive walk. After a couple of hours walking and searching husband found cache. OUR VIRGIN FIND - YAAAA HUUUU. In: blue beyond blue wrist band. Out: noting. PS. Cache needs new note book.

07-Sep-07
Now which of those parking coordinates is closest? Rode around, and found a reasonably easy access to the cache site.

Looks like council is doing maintenance on the access tracks, making the walk even easier.

Paid my respects at the memorial just below the pimple. I guess he liked the view.

Found at 1130 hrs.

The sixtyth cache found on my trip out west and up north.

No sign of Erin in the cache.

Cheers

Forgot to bring any swaps or my camera but managed to take a photo on my phone of the sunrise. Nice spot and great views. Thanks Map Monkey. I picked up 'Cat Sweetie' for a trip a little further north. TNLN SL TFTC.

20-Feb-07
Should have been find number two for me... ended up being find number 80. Didn't even need the gps just used experience from the last 77 caches and found it pretty quickly. Left a very short log as the log book is nearing the last few pages. A windy steamy Tuesday all I had for company was a about a thousand mozzies and a rather startled echidna... drat... no camera to prove it! Took the "geocoin" escort??? Left a proper california geocoin in it's place. TFTC Andrew.

Thanks for taking us to this excellent viewpoint. The hike up was hot but it didn't take too long. Found the cache easily enough. Traded bugs, took the Lion and left the Lizard, he enjoys hot, dry places. Thanks. - Rusty Reebs and Ski Bunny from Canada.

26-Sep-05
We decided to try and find this cache on our way home. We certainly werent disappointed. What a great view!!! Although the mozzies were out in force.
We took nothing but decided this was a nice spot to leave Lion Iron Pants the TB we do hope he enjoys the view as much as we did.

Found by crew en route to Cairns from Rockhampton for Hols

Great walk up to this cache and the views are first class

The cache probably needs a new log book

Took koala and left Brumby vouchers

18-Sep-05
Blowin Bowen. It was a bit windy as usual but we pulled in and tackled this one. The air was very clear and the photos taken turned out postcard perfect.

GeoBrett had a bit of a fall on the walking trail and is now suffering a nice bruise on his bum.

Cache was located easily and we took a keyring and left a toy car.

Thanks for the diversion

Bowen is such a gorgeous town, so glad i planned an overnight stay here at Rose bay. Expected this cache to be on the other side of town on the lookout from the description, but was plesantly suprised to find it was about 600m from my hotel room - all be it uphill...

Left hubby in bed and went for a walk at about 7am - it was a beautiful morning - I so need to move somewhere tropical (thrive in humidity!).

I got sooo many scratches getting to this cache, i'm sure there was an easier way.. and i just didn't find it...

Cache was a bit low on supplies so i put in a few things - can't remember off the top of my head, but i think i put in a koala, a marble and somethign else... - took out a little bead charm i thought was cute.

Considered taking the sugar and coffee sachets out, but decided to leave them as the cache is well sealed - possibly not a great idea to leave them in there too long though.

Thanks so much for the cache, would never have taken that morning walk without it.

Sorry I haven't logged this sooner. Yes, a difficult one to find using the clue given but certainly in place on the day and well within the expected circle of error of the GPS so, think up and over. I took the promised prize and left a little something which I now can't recall.

I note that you asked that rocks not be moved. When I stood on the rock it spun around and I fell, sustaining a nasty cut and bruise on my shin - ouch!!(better again now 6 weeks latter) I did remove the bloodied rock!!

24-Jul-04
Checked on cache today......still there Big Grin

Climbed the hill for lunch and watched as the GPS received all 12 satellites [^][^][^]

Uploaded a spoiler photo to help in the search....Use with discretion Wink

I had a good look for it... no donut! I agree with Cassowary, looks like a muggle got there first. I had a great day burning off calories on the walking trails in the area none the less! An excellent place to hide a cache or two in and about the WW2 radar station nearby.

21-Jun-04
[:C] Didn't find it despite spending more than an hour at ground Zero.
Triangulated from every direction with no joy.
The location is excelent, have driven by many times without calling in, thanks for the adventure.
Unfortunetly I think the cache may have been disturbed.
