I don't know what's better-
Looking forward to it,
Being at it,
or remembering it.
Was a great weekend deliberately planned for the dead of winter. We wanted it cold so the fire and port would go together just that little better.
Thanks you to the attendance of Red Ochre, Nads and Mix and the arrival of team Pear.
Stay posted as the next Beni event is in the works I hear and a couple of more events to grace spring and summer nights.

I very nice weekend indeed. When I wasn't eating I was drinking.
When I wasn't consuming I was talking, mostly crap!
When I wasn't sitting down I was lying down.
When I wasn't comfortable - I was cold. If your consider -6 cold.
The things I wern't were lonely, hungry, thirsty, and hot.
The whole weekend went off without a hitch. Then again there was nothing really planned other than to go with the flow.
Night 1: When it was cold we drank beer, wine, port and was merry. When it was icy cold we got closer to the fire. When our cups were to cold to hold and the fire was too low to glow we went to bed. Seperate beds I need to add. Don't want the forum jumping to conclusions as it can
Day 1: Awoke to -6. Thanks Nads for the hot cuppa tea. I wont elaborate on how we got the butane to thaw. By 9 it was finally 0 and Nads was off to continue Buckleys. Two and a half hours passed in which I moved the camp into the sun and lied on my swag and enjoyed the view. The roos were very friendly, inviting pats and letting me pat there Joey's. Amazing how tame they are. A little too tame when preping food. Nads returned empty handed (as you can with Buckleys) and another 6k's under his belt for the weekend.
Met with Pear and family and soon after Mix76 at the Snow Gums lookout about 11. It was a joyful reunion and pleasing introductions meeting a fellow Red Ochre team to our North. Mix and I headed up to Siding Springs at 1300 just incase teams were arriving then to meet with us.
Through out the rest of the day Nads proved to Pear just how hard Buckleys was to get, uncovering a film canister under a rock with only half the sky for accuracy. Unfortunately it dawned on then that it gets worse.
Night 2: Pear returned to our camp with family in toe and his lovely wife had brought hot, home grown Punkin and Herb soup to warm our bowels. And it was beautiful! After I enjoyed a hot shower we sat and chatted about the day, the night, the food, the technology, the game, the players, the forum, the US of A, and how warm it was. Cloud cover (which stuffed the astronomy) turned the bungles into a hot house and we probably wouldn't have even needed a fire if not to cook over. 10 degrees when we went to bed in the wee hours and 8 when we woke. Thats a positive 8, as in above zero.
Day 2: With Pear opting for home to camp it was just us Red Ochre members, Nads, Mix and Myself. With Nads wanting to gain at least one more Buckleys WP before home and Mix not wanting to relive the Buckleys pain he headed home after a hearty Nads cooked eggs and bacon. We packed the camp and by 9ish we were farewelling Mix and hammering out hearts at 160 a minute chasing waypoints.
No other cachers in the area so after the Buckleys attempt we enjoys a hearty lunch and beer at a nearby campground. Laptop out we noted Jewel Box and Sandy Track (By Jedda) an hour to the North so headed off soon afterwards to add to their logs. We arrived back at Red Ochre Headquarters (Dubbo) a little before 1700, tired but touched with a sence of achievement that it was a top weekend.
I would like to thank Pear and Family. Special thanks to Nads for sharing his passenger seat since my wife is not keen on walking while I was gone. Mix, once again great company with his intellectual crap to clog our minds. If your short of opinions or simply the truth he's great company. Of course we humored him agreeing that he's never wrong. Mr's Nads is a lucky lady having Nads around. He had everything I forgot and provided the dining service with a smile. Cheers mate for the fine drink pouring and egg flipping.
My only hope is that other who RSVP'd wern't able to come. A couple of times the though had crossed our minds that there were other cachers there and they just could't find us.
Lookin forward till the next time.

Yep, it was a good weekend, even if I was under the wether a bit. Time for a long sleep now, wake me in two weeks.
This was a great weekend although Friday night was the coldest I have ever spent in my swag. When we woke up there was ice everywhere and thermometer said -6 degrees
It was good to meet local cacher Pear and his family. Luckily they live close by and didn't have to camp out
Buckley's is still unconquered but we are getting closer to finding it.
Thanx Bronze and Mix for your company
