13-Dec-07
Cache has had a good run and time to move on. This is the third time it has been muggled, so as they say in baseball, three strikes and your out.

02-Dec-07
Tried yesterday, but there was a wedding going on... came back today to get it!
Appears it has been muggled!! Found it a short distance from where GPS and Clue led me to. Lid was off and contents spread around. Log book in a sorry state. Gathered up what I could and rehid - hopefully in the right place.

19-Oct-07
A good easy to find cache in a good spot. Had to return for a third time to avoid the many muggles that like enjoying this area. Our daughter swapped a dinosaur for her small bettle car.

Hi usakiwi
you might want to go and check out your cache
because when we found the cache it was full of
bark and the logbook was ripped up.
apart from that it was a great cache.

26-Jul-07
Cache has been replaced to co-ordinate and clue location.

22-Jul-07
Had a bit of bother with this cache. Couldn't find it in the dark so came back and found it in the late afternoon. However just as i was about to replace the cache a family showed up and proceeded to practice hockey and basketball. Not being able to replace the cache I had to find an alternative spot for the cache. Sorry about this but it was time to leave the Nelson region and head for home so wasn't able to hang around and replace correctly.

The cache is hidden under the bridge closest to the main carpark; can some one please put back.

Got here on Saturday. A concert was on for the muggles, and everyone looked like they where having a good time. Headed around to the right, and came to a drive. I then presumed the park was on the otherside of this property as my GPS was saying it was a mere 40 meters away. Cache area was muggle free.

A nice Hide.

We came back on Monday and dropped in my 2 Ocicat TB's as we where in Nelson for the weekend and wanted to spot the best hides for my travel bugs.

Took a short vid of the concert, which as soon as its uploaded to YouTube, I will post a link.

Entered the back from a back street and the GPS was pointing into a backyard (the Doctor's?). After wandering around a bit we found the right part of the gardens and short thereafter the cache. Thanks.

25-Nov-06
Called into this cache aa I an a revlet went to go geocaching today as we had some TB's that we had had for to long. (Had tried to drop them off earlier to the Nelson TB hotel but found it muggled), well it was not a good day geocaching we go wet and had a few disapointments so we gave up and settled for leaving these TBs in the Doctors care.

In weather fit for the ducks, there were plenty of them around, including one family gathering with 4 or 5 ducklings, that weren't in any hurry to get out of our way.
Took a bit of a hunt to latch onto the correct spot, but found it in the end. TNLN TFTC.

12-Aug-06
This was the weirdest cache on a day spent caching between ChCh and Nelson. Got to the desired co-ordinates, and, hello, there, in the garden stood a woman with a rooster! I immediately thought this was Candid Camera or whatever its called these days. There ensued a long conversation about the womans 40 something roosters that were being looked after by someone as her landlord didn't like her keeping roosters inside her apartment, and the special few roosters and the infection in the present special roosters bit on top of its head (is that called a cob?), and why some roosters were dying. Then the religous stuff that made no sense. Just go away please, I thought. I finally convinced her it was about to rain and special rooster might get sick. So into her handbag went special rooster and off she went. How many people are wandering around with bloody great rosters in their handbags? I'll be on the lookout. Cheers USAKiwi for the interesting (but time consuming) cache.

28-Mar-06
Visited at 1.30pm. Parked at back entrance and puzzled about location.... saw map and realised the park's unusual shape. Headed to cache, only to be thwarted by couple on picnic blanket just metres from ground zero, and several more muggles near by.... will return later

28-Mar-06
returned at 2.10pm.... one muggle still there, joined by another... but we went and made out nearby just like the first couple we spied about an hour ago.... they quickly left! Cache in hand soon after that.
Obviously a popular spot at lunch time.
Thanks - a beautiful spot, including the begonia houses.

19-Mar-06
5.45pm. As we commenced to seek this cache we were sidetracked to the begonia house which had the most colourful display of flowers we had ever seen. Must be a good year for begonias. Then a wander through this attractive park to an easy find. There was a nip in the air at this time on the first day after daylight saving ceased but it was a delightful way to round off a successful caching day.

Cool M&P.

Fabulous setting - some of the most well kept gardens you are likely to find.

Must confess to having gone traipsing through somebody's yard inadvertently though - perhaps some car parking co-ordinates of 41.20.588 / 173.11.207 might be appropriate to publish - hopefully to avoid other misguided traipsings !

Found by my niece Edie aged 3 1/2 - and we left TB "Wandering Tape #1" which had wandered all the way from Berkshire, England !

Thanks,

Ed (KiwiAnorak)

Rather tricky when I came from the wrong street - had to go right around the big house avoiding gardeners - easy otherwise. No swaps, cheers, Grandalf.

What beautiful gardens. Nice to be able to bring the dog in too. Strange signs though - 'Warning - no cricket in park'. Maybe a warning as to the consequences?
We almost did a full circuit of the house, before ending up at the right location. TNLN - thanks.

07-Jan-05
Hey, I think we're following Bear Left around and are just missing them!

Very nice gardens, and they are easy to find when you don't suffer from coordinate transposition syndrome. A quick slap and all was on track.

Found the cache and almost had to silence a muggles in the grandiose house nearby!

Explored the contents in the pagoda type thingy.

+ tape measure

BAZ, aka Vombatus Ursinus (TB 454172) visited with us.

Cheers

06-Jan-05
Muggles nearby so I pretended to be setting out a picnic while JM snuck in for the cache. I played the decoy while she signed the log and made our trade.

06-Jan-05
We enjoyed the last spot of sunshine for the day while walking around in this pretty little park. There were muggles in the pavillion, but they were too occupied with each other to see me slip off to find the cache. Took compass keychain and left a Buddha.

05-Jan-05
We made this the first of the day, hoping to avoid any wedding parties, and we did.
The assistant gardener seemed less than thrilled with his weeding, but we were glad that it kept him occupied in another section of these lovely gardens.
A bit of a fossick, with an eye on the neighboring house (and the patrolling dog in their yard), and Mama Bear sooned turned up the cache, which we logged in the rotunda.
Just what the Doctor ordered!

29-Dec-04
I popped by yesterday but didn't get to go in as there was a wedding reception going on. Called in today after doing some other caches in the area and managed to nail this one. No exchange made. Cheers Gav [336]

Cool, thanks Usakiwi for a neat cache, its great to see another cacher active in Nelson.
Our gps zeroed about 4 metres from the cache, we used the clue as it was pouring down.
Baby Jack accompanied us on his first cache hunt and was safely tucked away in his buggy under the rain cover.

Nil trade.
