Its been a while since we have gone to watch the sunset. And it didnt disappoint, despite being a bit cloudy. Thanks
I was here for a walk and to collect some caches. On my first approach, a few hikers were hanging about, so I made my way off down the trail. I returned later to my car, and no one was about it, and I had the time to look properly. The cache was found at the third tree I checked. Thanks!
Took around 10 mins We had an idea of where the cache might have been, and after some prodding with a stick we soon retrieved it.Cool view!TFTC
Had the morning to myself, and it seemed like it was going to turn into a lovely morning. As such, I thought I would go geocaching. I selected the Mt Dandenong area as it has a number of caches I need for challenges I am working on. Including a T5, some oldies, a DT of 2.5/2.5, and a number of Multicaches. Spotted a Wiccan using her paggan drums to call the spirits, while walking up the hill to this geocache. I do enjoy the sound of those drums. Thanks for the cache, Iluka Peri.Hunter
Thanks for the Cache Nutcache,On my way to find a nearby Mystery Cache, I was able to pick up this one. Turned out that the other GZ was a bit busy with Muggles so I didn't go for it, subtlety is not one of my strong points. So at least I could content myself with reaching the peak in my chosen hobby.Great view too.Regards from Victourer
Amazing that this golden oldie from 2004 has stood the test of time and CO!! With the OXFAM event on today there are crowds of people accessing the trail and tourists out too. I'm in marvellous Melbs again and keen for a bit of nature out on the fringes. TFTC and the FUn. A FAVE for longevity!
As this is a short distance from work, and it has now been adopted by myself, I figured I should check up on it. All good here, enjoy the views!

TFTC Revisting this lookout after some 10yrs. Such a shame the old lower track is no longer open. Quick easy find, will take the trackable further north with us.
Out for the day with team milljrh. We started off down in Kilsyth/Montrose, then came up into the hills, because I wanted to walk among the trees. The paths along here were indeed quite busy! Admired the nearby spectacular view of the city and found this final cache for today.Dropped off the WE ARE FAMILY travel bug in this cache. TFTC
Annual day of caching with ellenvgreg. Flast of the day, loved the view from the lookout, wonderful radio towers. HNT
Thank you to the owner who put the cache there it was a little hard because there was so many rocks but I found it
Brought George from Canberra up here for the first time to see the towers. Thank you for hiding this cache, we suspected there was one up here. Misty day, but Towers still look impressive along with the view.
Nice and quick find on a chilly and windy Wednesday afternoon. Dropped a TB. Tftc Nutcache
We had some reception issues during looking for the cache. It was a great hiding spot there were a few muggles around.
Been up here before but failed last time, mainly due to large muggle population wandering around. So turning up on a grim wet murky weekday afternoon pretty much guarantees maximum time to search - didnt need it, was straight on it and yes lovely new clean log book. TFTC.
A rather bleak afternoon but we decided to go for a drive all the same.
We came prepared here. Since the container had gone missing, it has now been replaced.
Thanks nutcache.

An afternoon of adventure with +Wife and Eve The Staffy.
I was talking to my mate, 'Spud' as we arrived here and when I told him where we were, he informed me that his (dear departed) grandfather had been on the crew that built the television tower. It was in place, ready for the 1956 Olympic Games. He also built his own television to watch the broadcast on.
It looks as though backpackers or the homeless use this area. Be careful where you tread. You may need to clean your shoes otherwise. Thankfully, I always look before setting my feet down.
Thanks for the hide nutcache and to Cache Guardians for keeping it in play.

Had a good look (very confident we were in the right spot) but couldn't find it
Over from NZ for a weeks holiday and with not such good weather today, planned on using the cache mobile for a trip out Dandenong way.
After doing the nearby virtual, decided to make the steep climb up to this one, especially as it had been replaced recently. However, despite a very thorough search in all the hint locations, nothing was found, so suspect it may now be MIA. Thx anyway.

As a keen trail runner, I literally do this trails 3 times a week, normally 5am in the morning, final I found a Sunday to finally knock out these caches tftc
Due to unforeseen circumstances Mr Smokey Bear will no longer be a part of Team Smokey Bear and will continue his adventures as "SmokeyBearOG".
So I'm relogging all previous finds under my new account.
Unfortunately this log will not show the original logging date.
**Thanks to Cache Guardians for this adventure, looking forward to many more.**

Stopped by while playing Tour Guide today.
This was the first cache I ever found, and it fills me with joy knowing it's still here 18 years later.

Nice spot to put a cache!
Certainly decent views between the trees.
I found the cache easily and removed some rubbish stuff from inside.
Thanks for the cache!

Thanks Nutcache,
Our friends took us to this lookout park today. It's cold and windy but we braved the conditions and got rewarded with finding your cache! We didn't have swaps but still enjoyed the search & find. All is in good condition at GZ.

I started working on qualifying for "The Helen D'Amico Challenge (a 365 day streak challenge)" (GC873NG) at the end of last year. So of course by working on that challenge I have slowly progressed filling in my "Finds by Found Date" calendar.
I have always had more find dates in my "Finds by Hidden Date" calendar than my "Finds by Found Date." However, after working on this challenge that was no longer the case. In order to balance the two I decided to try and focus on finding some caches that would close off some of the gaps I have in my "Finds by Hidden Date" calendar. So today I decided to come out to try and find this one, as I needed to find a cache hidden on the 24th of June!
This was probably the most eerie geocache I had ever found. I have been getting off work late lately, which means I have been having to do my caching either as the sun is about to set or in the complete dark. Well tonight was in the complete dark, and with the weather starting to turn it was going to be a rainy night cache tonight.
So I was looking for caches that could fill gaps in my "Finds by Hidden Date" calendar as well as one that would be relatively quick to find, so I wouldn't be out in the rain to long tonight. Which led me out to this one.
So I started to drive up the mountain when I felt like I was almost driving into the rain cloud, the rain got worse and worse, and the fog almost became so thick that I thought I was going to have to pull off the road and turn back.
However, as I was already over half way there, I ended up just drying to the park entrance only going about 40 Km most the way there. Then once I got to an area where I could park, then it got really eerie. I ended up parking near the nearby radio tower, and the lights around the tower had this almost strange orange glow, that due to the fog created such a strange and eerie atmosphere. I then continue to walk to GZ and I could hear all sorts of critters out and about. I probably got jumped scared by almost 6 different creatures including a kangaroo, a possom, some rabbits. It was crazy to see all the wildlife out tonight.
The fog was so thick, and the rain had gotten to be so hard, that I could barely see using my head torch. Luckily it was a nice quick little find once I got to GZ. This was one caching trip, I don't think I will try to recreate any time soon lol. TFTC
Cache Maintenance Status:
The cache container was in good shape, and the logbook (despite the rainy weather) was clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

A late afternoon caching with Spiffy- as we both needed caches today.
This cache was en route so we had to grab it.
Thanks to Nutcache for the fun and the adventure.

Found at 4:55 pm.
Headed out with Fleabag- today because we both needed to fill a calendar day today. It was absolutely freezing up here but the walk up and down the hills soon fixed that issue.
This was a nice quick find on the way into the jungle.
Thanks Cache Guardians for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.
