Nice strolling around this park with hubby. Muzza, thank you so much for placing it for everyone to enjoy and highlighting this area.
While out finding the NHL series, I came across this cache. I might not have hopped to it, but I did follow a few animal trails in.
With my time running short before I had to be home, this was the fourth and final cache for the morning. A nice quick detour from the track result in a nice quick find of the cache. Very satisfying - an attractive location and a nice way to complete this outing. TFTC
I have been here before a long while ago, but was walking past and saw there was a trackable, so had to stop and help it on its way.
Cache is perfectly dry.

Spent an hour on a lovely autumn day to do a bit of caching and walking in Lysterfield
Track walking, bush bashing, road walking, roo tracks and rock outcrops added to the fun
Cache was found in good condition. Log signed and returned as found before moving on
Many thanx to Muzza for the cache and ongoing maintenance

Easy find once rock located. And just beyond is a clearing for an awesome view down to the lake and dam across the whole park. Thanks for bringing me here. TFTC
buhfuhguh spontaneously invited me on our first outing of the new year with the intention of completing the BYOB multis in Lysterfield.
However, our plans started to derail when the giant asked if I had a D battery - turns out, I did!
So I took it with me and it wasn't until we were just about at the first one when I read the description and... oh... this one doesn't take a D battery... none of them take a D battery.
Luckily, this cache was found before things went to complete shambles, en route to a destination we never quite reached.
The '04 statistic on this one caught our collective attention and I trusted buhfuhguh's rather impressive directional skill (nothing like my own) to navigate the pair of us into a likely gz.
I fully circumnavigated the thing before stumbling upon the hiding spot and had the log signed in no time after that.
Thanks to Muzza for placing this one and keeping it going for so long!

How about it, being a good day Brain and I decided to go out for a quick walk to go out and grab some finds. With a handful of caches selected including the BYOB caches.... Sadly thought the day didnt really go to plan. Mainly with us forgetting to bring the correct batteries..... how did we mess that up. Either way, thanks for being a part of a lunchtime outing.
Because I hate losing to inanimate objects, I gave searching the site one more go.
I noticed a bullant next piled quite high in the corner of the GZ, and being brave (read stupid) I went in with a longish stick and managed to fish out the cache.
Suffice to say, the ants were not happy, and I had to wait for them to calm down before rehiding it.

Spent the better part of 25 minutes looking for this one, under every rock, log, and dubious pile of leaves.
Crushed that I couldn't find it, as I was wanting to drop off a new TB.

Glad to have found this old timer here today.
Not often I bring my torch but today for some reason I had it in my pocket.
Eureka!
What a cute trek in to GZ.

A lovely walk through Lysterfield from Wellington rd brought me up to GZ. I stopped along the way to check out the views, chat with the roos and look at a fascinating tree covered in sap.
The drizzly rain meant I had this part of the world all to my self which I loved!
Thanks for bringing me up here and for the cache

A good spot to place a cache. The GZ was peaceful this afternoon as no one was using the nearby Gun club at the time.
Found the cache fairly quickly. All was in good order. I guess the only thing to note is the log book is looking like it is starting to run out of pages.

A few options considered today by Spiffy- and I, but we settled on a hike around Lysterfield followed by ALs in the hills.
Puffed our way up to this for a quick find.
Thanks to muzza for the placement and fun.

Found at 10:45 am.
Instead of being lazy today and being healthy instead we headed out for a long walk around Lysterfield instead of taking the bikes. I tried out some new sneakers which after 14km worked out to be a bad idea to initially run them in with such a long walk over uneven terrain. Weather was perfect after a string of hot muggy days and some awesome caches were found.
Continuing our walk to a cache I have looked at so many times on the map when coming to this area and today we finally managed to sign the log. What a perfect little hiding hole for that.
Thanks muzza for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

The plan was to meet up with Crustyvarmint, Lynjoh and BeckNmonts to tackle a night cache in this park, arriving early so that we could try our luck with a few other caches in the area. We were joined by ahomburg, and although they both had previously found these caches, they didn’t mind the detours we had planned on this beautiful night.
Up the hill we climbed to some pretty stunning views, then the hunt was on. Thanks Lynjon for giving me the credit of the find, however, a severe coughing fit from BeckNmonts sounding like she was about to keel over (coincidentally right next to GZ) led me straight to the treasure. Of course I then made sure she was fine before the signing duties commenced.
Thanks Muzza.

A small group gathered for a wander in the park this evening.
Along with ahomburg, BeckNmonts, Knight_shift and Lynjoh, we had a lovely walk, gathering this cache along the way. Unfortunately, BeckNmonts developed a nasty cough just as she was about to find the container, and she was beaten to it by Mrs Knight_shift.
After signing the log, Lynjoh took a pic to remember the occasion.
Thanks for your work muzza.

I was out with ahomburg, BeckNmonts, Knight_shift and Crustyvarmint for a evenings wander through Lysterfield Park. Kim made the first find of the night. I dropped off the 15 BALL TB. Thanks to Muzza for the cache.
Trying to get some more souvenirs before the end and nice to knock this one off at last. Great spot!
Thanks Muzza

After finding one closer to the track we chose to do this one on a hot day which was not a good idea. Hiked up big hills to find this one and thankfully found it and saw an echidna on our way and a beautiful view at the end of the hike.

Well, that was a trek and a half! Phew! Recommend bringing a bottle of water if coming on a hot day. Great location! Gives you a real appreciation for the Aussie scrub. Left a hulk ooshie TFTC
(Quite a late log, coming up on three years late) Was looking at the lake park and could've sworn I found this one with fisherfamfive, sure enough I had. From what I can remember it was a fun day and had a few nice views for us along the way. Tftc Muzza
Out with CammFamThree on the bikes to try and get some more smileys on the North side of Lysterfield Lake Park. After going up and down many hills walking instead of riding the bikes, we finally got to a clearing close to GZ. The view was nothing short of amazing. After taking in the view, we made our way to GZ. We maneuvered our way through the maze of bushes until we got to the caches location. After arrival, the cache was quickly found. Tftc Muzza
A very nice view from here. Can't beleive I found empty plastic bottles in the area! also someone rope stash!
We are on the countdown to Kristysadventures 1000. A quick off trek adventure for the find. Thanks for the hide muzza
A bit of a hike up to this one and it’s a nice location with birds nearby although a bit strange to hear guns fired.. thanks
My daily exercise is taking me to caches that I've been eyeing off for years and this one was no exception. There is something unnerving about walking in the bushes with the background noise of constant gunfire - but I persisted and made an indirect route to GZ, where I was surprised to have a great view and also be greeted by a high volume of roos - somehow unphased by the background noise! Logbook signed with thoroughly disinfected hands. tftc
Nice climb on the bike to a spot I wouldn’t have planned to go! No frogs today TFTC
We couldn’t basically walk past this cache without finding it today! The cache was a quick find. Thanks for placing it muzza.
We were lucky to find this one as we were not armed for caching in the dark. This took us a little while to locate but I think getting back to the track took longer. Thanks for the cache and maintaining it for so long.
Delicately removed without upsetting the ants nest right at the entrance

A very nice spot with a good view. Thanks for bringing me here. Cache was found pretty quickly with the hint. In good condition.
Found this cache with Yeah09 and ilukaperi who has already found it. Yeah09 made the final find as it was a bit lower down than where I was looking and his eyes are closer to the ground. A top spot, literally!
It was late I was cold but I still need a second one so I pushed on and with a bit of a hunt managed to locate this one. Nice little hide. I will have to return during daylight to enjoy the view
Thanks muzza for the cache.

Woo hoo . Team George found it while team George training . Thanks Kez ... on a roll
Ahhh. More Muzza magic!
Today it seems I'm walking in the good Doctor's footsteps - after he walked in mine, yesterday.
Still no frogs to be seen but yes, certainly a few hollows. Plenty of large rocks about too. I limboed a bit on my way in. Even managed to misplace a bright red pen. Fortunately it was one of many from my back pack.
Thanks Muzza!

The fourth of seven Lysterfield caches with thedoctorswife on a cracking day courtesy of 88andy88 and Muzza.
Wandered deep into the hollow - no frogs anywhere to be found, but felt like there could be 3 hobbit trolls here getting set to feast on some dwarves!
Great view - a bit smoke hazy today.

Out this way with Happy pants and omegaman1971 with our bikes, collecting the last of this NHL puzzle series. Took the opportunity to also grab anything else we came across, along the way. There was heaps of muggles and wildlife about, along the trails. We had no DNF's and made some good discoveries and clever hides during the day. We had some fun and laughs along the way, then even ended the day, with a bit of drama.
There were no muggles about up this end of the park. We push our bikes up the steep little track, to this one, as the day continued to heat up. Wandered in and made a quick discovery, in a pleasant little area.
Thanks Muzza for placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play.

Hitting the bikes on this awesome Melbourne Sunday to put some smiles and miles on the map.
There is always many laughs and excellent conversations when out with Happy Pants and Happy feet.
Cheers for the cache and day of fun.

Found this one today while tackling the NHL series and we decided to grab a few caches out this way and this one was found after ditching the bikes and walking into the gz. The cache was soon located after a short search, plenty of noisy muggles out today with the pistol club in full swing, by the sounds of it. Had to keep our heads down in case of a stray shot was heading our way, signed the log and made a hasty retreat back to the bikes and on our way. Found with omegaman1971 and Happy Feet. Thanks muzza for the cache and for showing us around this part of the world.
Second of two finds after dark on dads mission to tire-out the young’un
Not sure this was such a good idea, as the child just sat on the boulder and laughed at his dads attempts to find the cache.
Great spot and it was so peaceful tonight. TFTC

Finishing up with BYO batteries, we made our way over here. The gun club was closed (Monday). We have been in the area before, and heard all the cacophony; now we know what it was!
We found this cache much harder to find than others in the park, and we spent a reasonable amount of time looking before reading the hints. After signing the cache we took some time to check out the views and have some afternoon tea.
Thanks Muzza!

The walk to this cache didn't involve much in the way of frogs. Instead there were plenty of kangaroos! I'm not complaining, any animal sighted whilst out and about is a good animal. Had to use the hint on this one. The upturned pot sitting on a rock unnerved me a bit but once I knew what camo to focus on the cache came easily. Thanks for helping me fill my calendar slot and tick off another day on a challenge I'm slowly working towards completing.
Thanks for bringing me to this lovely little spot. So that's what all that noise I've been hearing is, a gun club... Arrived here from Speed Reading, so then I was able to admire the awesome views once leaving.
Thanks for keeping this one going

I was in the area completing some of the nearby gadget caches. It was a lovely afternoon for a walk so I parked at the Lysty East carpark to do these.
It didn’t take me long to spot the little cache in the little hide. Some nice views from nearby after signing the log.
Thanks Muzza for the cache.

I was back in the area today and realised I never logged this cache so apologies to the CO. The geo family went for a nice walk in this area after an event sone tine ago. I haven't walked much od this area as it is huge, but it's always nice to visit.

What an absolutely beautiful spot. I sat down for about 20 minutes after finding the cache, just enjoying the sun and the beautiful view. Hard climb to the top but totally worth it.
Find #1175
This was an area of Lysterfield that I had never ventured to. Time to rectify that and look for this cache. I was actually suprised by the elevation up to GZ. I wasn't expecting it and was greeted with a fabulous view across to some of the other sections of the park I know far better from walking repeatedly through them earlier in the year. Despite the GPS batteries running out I was able to locate this cache using my phone. Another cache that has stood the test of time. TFTC!

Out on a night walk with Gunks to try a couple of the BYO batteries. I still needed this one so grabbed the quick find before we moved on to the harder ones. Tftc
Found it! Decided on a walk through Lysterfield Lake to find a few caches. This was the first for the afternoon. Maybe I should've chosen a cooler day to find this one!. Did a little bush bashing but mostly found a clear route up to GZ. Soon found GZ and had cache in hand. Sat for a while in the shade before heading back down to Muggle Wen who was patiently for my return. The peace and quiet at GZ was sporadically interrupted by some one practicing at the nearby gun club. The views were fabulous from up here. TFTC SL
Good search by my 9 and 6 year olds. They found this by instinct. Well done boys.
After finishing the CF Where I Go series this cache was next on our list to find.
Amazing out of the way area that makes you wonder how few people have been here.
Wife and I enjoyed sitting on the rocks eating lunch watching the views and the colour bird protecting its territory.
We scared a huge fox out of the bushes that ran directly across the path in front of us.
Thanks for the cache and giving us a great secluded place for lunch muzza.

This was the easy find to start off with on a group of three finds down the east side of the park.

What a beautiful spot, after signing the log, do yourself a favour take 10 minutes to sit atop one of the giant boulders and just enjoy the sights smells and sounds. Thanks for bringing me to this place.
I've been meaning to come up to this side of the park. I imagine I'll be back when the electronic multis are again in place, but this site is interesting enough in itself. This cache is pretty well protected against cross-country assaults. Blimey! Thanks Muzza!
After meeting up with queenk8 and jaybeebaby to complete a night cache we felt that as it was still early we might as well get this one. After a hill climb and a bit of a bush bash we stumbled upon a rather large object and of course then the cache. A quick sign of the log and off we went in search of more treasure. TFTC
I got home from work in the middle of the day to find a message from jaybeebaby suggesting that a group of us might tackle this cache this evening. That helped me to work out the order of things for the rest of the day: chores, then nap, then geocaching!
It was a glorious night to be outside! There were almost no clouds, the moon was high, and the stars and planets were twinkling. The cars along Wellington Road were doing the traffic equivalent of "Rhubarb, rhubarb, rhubarb" in the background, while birds and insects chirruped in the foreground. We heard the occasional rustling of larger animals in the bush, and spotted several kangaroos and a possum!
I am liking these night caches more and more, and thoroughly enjoyed this one. The smell of the bush at night is good for the soul.
Having found the nearby night cache in 50 minutes, the night was still young, and we decided to keep searching. This one was nearby, so we headed off to get it. The view from the top of the hill was certainly worth the climb! We signed the log, returned the cache, and headed back to our cars.
Thanks for the cache, Muzza! A fave point for the view at night.

Wandering around Lysterfield Park, I had not been to this part before, and throughly enjoyed the magnificent view from here. You have found some excellent areas to highlight. It was also great to find one of these older caches, and it was quickly located sitting safely in its hiding spot.

Found together with G and J of GJMMelb, while quiet1_au made sure we found it as he had found it before. TFTC
After BYO SR, it was a short walk to a really pretty part of this park with gorgeous views!
The cache was a fairly easy find with hints from Q1 who had found it before. Very cool to find such an old cache! Back to the car now as we have now found all the caches in this part of the park. Q1 and lochb continued on over the road to find a couple more but we needed to get home to take MMelb out. Photos to be attached

Parked on Wellington Rd and made my way up the east-west break and then on to the east boundary track. As I approached the top of the hill I came across two big Bully boys (billys actually). I walked by hoping they didn't want to take me on. Found the cache quickly and grabbed a TB. Thanks Muzza.
After a bit of bush bashing up the hill and admiring the view we set to work hunting for the cache. Found it while scrabbling around on the ground and being watched by a curious wallaby. Dropped off a trackable. Thanks for bringing us to this great spot
Geochild #2 found it. Our third Muzza cache for the day. Thanks for bringing us to this beautiful area we had never been here before!
After roaming here, there and everywhere thanks to my "trusty" GPS, I managed to come up with the goods and not come across any Joe Blakes on this beautifully warm autumn morning. TFTC

During our holidays spent in Australia we decided to visit Dandenong Ranges as we love it there We were searching for this one for ages. We looked to every hole but no frog neither the cache. Fortunately, we found it on a very nice place and then we enjoyed lovely sunset and lot of kangaroos eating the grass. Greetings from Czech Republic. TFTC!

On our way back from our speed-reading date , we made the short detour to grab this trad. Unfortunately it had started to rain now , so we made the find, signed the log and headed back for the car without being able to enjoy the views from here too long.

After finding CO's newly published BYO electronic cache, Geojas and I walked around to this cache. On our way, we met quite alot of wildlife including a fox being chased by a flock of crows (most unusual and rather amusing sight) and kangaroos that jumped out of the bush quite close to us. Once at GZ, we followed our GPSr and I soon had the cache in hand. SL & replaced. A great lookout from here. We stopped to admire the view before returning to the car. TFTC Muzza!

Finding these long standing caches makes me reflect on what I was doing when they were placed. Back then I had no idea the game existed and was happily going about my life unaware of the fun there was to be had. Great to see some familiar names among the early logs. TFTC
