Absolutely loved this virtual cache - what a nostalgic trip down memory lane. Loved this television series in the day. Sent me off on a tangent trying to find it streamed somewhere but no luck with that. Enjoyed viewing the location - never been there before. TFTC Rhinogeo. A favourite from me,Answers sent.
I was confused about what show this was since I've never seen it. I'm a big fan of another Melbourne show though, Fisk, and I've been thoroughly enjoying it!
Down to Melbourne to escort my mum to hospital - giving me significant free time for a couple of days. Last day today as she is all good and coming out later on ... What to do? LGA hunting and some old virtuals like this one my goal today ... a quick stop here. Remember watching this show with less and less enthusiasm over the years growing up. Parent were big fans. Thanks Rhinogeo for bringing me to this location. Answers sent*{Overall find #12950}*
I never watched this TV show when I was a kid. Ive just asked my mum why she didnt watch it and she helpfully said, I dont really know, we just didnt. To be fair, I was a big fan of the shows related establishment in Abbotsford but I have no connection to this building. Thanks for bringing me here to learn about it. Answers sent and now its time to find my passport yet again.
Finally visited this location to obtain the required information for question 4. Highly recommend a visit to the nearby Maling Road when you visit. TFTC
I set to and answered the required questions....all the time musing how my parents never let me watch the show as they were strict ABC viewers and whilst living in their house what my father said was "law"! I knew of the show though so enjoyed actually visiting the spot. TFTC
Catching up on logging virtual caches after visiting Melbourne for a few days for the Grand Prix. This is the last one to log.As most of my time was dedicated to being at Albert Park, there wasn't a whole lot of time for caching. So with the spare time I had before returning home, I decided to focus on grabbing a bunch of virtuals, including some out in the suburbs utilising a mixture of trams, trains and ubers. This was another series I had never heard of until visiting this virtual and doing some googling, perhaps because it was at least a couple decades before my time One of the answers was surprisingly challenging to find, so many different sources with different answers. Got it right on second attempt after doing a bunch of digging to find the same result on two separate sources. Thanks for the virtual cache
I visited the site here today, and gathered the necessary information. It brought back some fond memories. Thanks for the fun you have provided, Rhinogeo. A favourite point coming your way.
On a weekend away from Brisbane to catch up with friends and I had some target caches to find while here. Today I was keen to come and find this virtual. I had done some homework before our weekend away so had some answers sorted and then it was a matter of one last question to answer and to check out the street. Thanks for taking us here and for the fun virtual
I seldom watch TV and never saw a single episode of this series. Fortunately information was available on the internet, although one item needed deep research. Tftc.
Thanks Rhinogeo for creating this virtual. We loved our stroll around the streets and remembering the TV shows of the era. They were huge! The coffee and food nearby in Maling Road was terrific too. A favourite from us. Logged with permission from CO.

After notification of a new challenge cache and that I needed a virtual on the 13th which was good timing, I headed off before work to gather the required information. A TV series I was very familiar with from my childhood.
Massive thanks go to Rhinogeo for creating this one.

Had a great arvo out with CindyAus22 and on the way home, we stopped off here. The road nearby was a great example of Fedederation architecture and we both loved driving through. At GZ I was pleasantly surprised to know what was being referred to. But CindyAus22, being French, was puzzled. I submitted the answers and heard back from the CO today that all was well.
Hadn’t seen this show before, but a little bit of googling and we figured out the answers. Lots of history at this spot. TFTV
Visited this iconic site with dalerious , and sent off answers to CO who has given hos blessing for us to log our find .
Thank you Rhinogeo for bringing us to this unique site.
It was so good to see the building in such good condition.
It was an honour to be standing there with my partner.

Having done all the homework a long time ago, catnap777 and I finally got to visit GZ on the weekend to take a look at this iconic piece of real estate and pick up the last piece of information needed to log this 2004 Virtual Cache.
With all our colluded answers sent off, it was just a matter of waiting for the reply (recieved today) before we could finally say......

"Found" on a work trip to Melbourne. I loved loved loved this TV show when I was a kid. I "wagged" school on the first day of it's first cycle of repeats. In many ways it was ahead of its time in not glorifying the impacts of war. It showed what PTSD looked like before the term PTSD was mainstreamed - RIP Robbie McGovern. I was disappointed to read that another iconic building from the series has been demolished. Thanks so much for bringing me here and reminding me of misspent afternoons watching TV.
I went past this one last November when I visited Vic and finished it on this trip. I have never watched the show but I have heard about it!

The TV series sounds very interesting. I'm trying to find a copy I can watch. TFTvC.
What an iconic place and definitely an iconic series, I recall the opening music and watching it back when I was young. I don't recall the young 8 year old KM being on it, that was an interesting piece of titbit learnt while researching. Thanks for a fun iconic virtual. Answers sent.
I love doing virtuals, and this one took me to an area I didn't know existed. I only know the show from watching reruns after school (back when we were limited to three choices, lol). I enjoyed researching the questions, and they weren't too hard to find. I messed up one question, but on a reread, I soon had the correct answer.
Thanks for placing the virtual here, and giving a short history lesson about the shows.

Came here on a stinking hot Friday afternoon to gather the answers. I loved this show as a kid - I think it was the first Aussie period drama that taught be about WWII. The whole family gathered to watch it - us kids on beanbags as close to the TV as we could get.
I visited this location many moons ago, gathering the requested information in order to log the cache on a day that was meaningful for a challenge cache. Today was such a day and I'm happy to log one of the older caches that are still in play on the Victorian gameboard.
I only have vague memories of the Sullivans screening on TV as I was just a child when it aired. I'd imagine that it would repay watching now as the issues and themes it dealt with would be appreciated by an adult.
Thanks for drawing attention to the very popular TV series, CO. It seems the leafy eastern suburbs provided a setting for multiple TV shows.

We always enjoy a Virtual, and this one was no exception. GZ brought back lots of memories from our younger days and led to some reminiscing.

We had an appointment in Camberwell, so left a bit early hoping we would get into town and have some time to look for a few caches nearby. We have been in a bit of a caching drought in recent times!
There were a few possibilities and some interesting variety so in total we found 3 and had a DNF, while dodging showers, before having to head off to our appointment.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Rhinogeo.

Passing through the eastern suburbs of Melbs over the xmas period visiting family and friends for a few days. This is our old stomping ground from the naughties, plus I was born here so it's nice to be visiting "home". This morning, lady novo is visiting a friend for brunch so the geokids and I are out for a little geocaching in the meantime!
This CO has quite the varied collection of cache hides. A few puzzles I've been working on for a while which we are still stuck on too. Noticed this original virtual (of which I can't find any others, despite the namesake) and decided to go check it out. Oh wow cool now THAT is some real history! We took some pics, did some research, wrote down some numbers, and moved on. TFTC and walk down memory lane, Rhinogeo.

While the rest of iTEEM sought out the cool of a cinema nearby, I headed out in the heat to find some local caches.
I well remember watching this show as a kid, and will recognise that theme music as long as I live.
A little research was required to find some of the answers, but I soon had suitable responses to send to the CO.

I have been working on qualifying for the [WCW - 6 Types every day Challenge (GCA0HZQ)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GCA0HZQ), which requires the finder to log 6 different cache types on each of the 31 different calendar days and when I checked the checker it said I needed to find a Virtual on the 27th.
So I started to look around for possible Virtuals I could find today, and this one seemed like a really interesting one. However, this one did turn out to be a bit tricky. As someone who only moved to Australia back in 2015, I was unfamiliar with this television classic.
Luckily google was my friend and was able to get most of the required information. I did have a small hiccup on the answer, but the CO was kind enough to give me a second guess.
Thanks for bringing me out to this interesting place today and TFTC.

Staying with friends nearby for the day, geocaching was not my prio today but did not want to miss an old virtual so I made my way here.
Researching the subject was a quick job even if I had never heard of the series.
Snapped a picture and that was my geocaching for the day.
Thank you Rhinogeo for setting up this geocache.

Attempting to beat my previous best of 10 cache types in a day. This was the last I needed for a total of 13 after spending the day at the Mega and a bit of a detour heading home to my parents place.
Travelled back to my home state of Victoria from New Zealand to attend the Whittlesea MEGA (and maybe visit family!)
Thanks for the virtual cache, Rhinogeo

Muggle65, Brislions and l are on a big road trip. We have a very select list of caches to stop at as time is always too short. The building looks amazing and still has the original old tea ad on the glass. Present owner spoke to us and was delightful. Thank you for the fun ??

The Green Geckos and Muggle65 join me again today for lots of laughter and caching.
I found 23 today.
Day 4,

While on my way to the MEGA event in Whittlesea, I had the opportunity to get in a few extra days of caching beforehand. This got me to go to areas I would not have normally seen and to some awesome caches. Today I arranged to meet up with Snickersallan and we would do some caches around the area, fill in some grid spaces and look at some labs. We had fun chasing multi’s, although a couple did not work out even when the checker agreed with us. We got in a few caches around this area before we had to head back to a dinner event I had organised.
After the night’s event, we thought we would go for a drive and grab a few more caches in the area. It was down to this one a night time grab and something a little different. It was another TV show themed virtual I had just completed one and was still finding answers to the next when we stopped here for another, lol. Took down what I could and took some pics and at 11.30 at night it is probably not the place to be hanging out. Thank you for this virtual and the fun we had here.

On my recent trip to Victoria for the Whittlesea Mega I ventured to many lovely places and this was one of them.
Visited late at night with fellow Queenslander chamad and picked up the required information and have emailed them to the CO as requested.
Thanks Rhinogeo for this beaut Virtual, enjoyed the trip down memory lane

I never watched this series, but I know of it, because it was famous at the time. Today I caught the train to Canterbury Station and followed the almost direct road to this virtual. A lovely suburb and nice shopping centre. I am very pleased I explored a little of intriguing Canterbury. Nice houses and the roses are looking great. This cache find will add another council area for me. Answers sent. TFTC Rhinogeo.

A beautiful day today, so after a picnic at the Canterbury Gardens we walked to this virtual.
I had done the research for this virtual during the lockdowns so only had to come today to collect the number off the pole. It was well worth the visit. I like the way the building has been maintained and I like what it is used for today.
The kids loved the playground next door (which is themed to this building) for quite a while before we headed back.
This is a show that I saw a few times when I was growing up in England. It was popular there.
Thanks for the virtual Rhinogeo

The geokids have played a number of games at the hockey field just across from this cache but we had no idea the street was so famous. Thanks for the lesson in Australian TV history.
This was definitely my era and i remember it fondly.
In all my time here in Melbourne i have never been here before which is amazing as my favourite bakery in the world is just up the road in Mont Albert. I can recommend the Maxi Fruit Loaf. Yummy. I bought two today.

I decided to grab this cache while on my way to the Camberwell market and was pleasantly surprised to get to this location which I didn’t know existed. I vaguely remember the tv series growing up and the show’s theme tune is now on repeat in my head. After a misstep and the need to resubmit one answer, I finally got the green light to log this cache. Thanks for bringing me here.
We had a day to cache around Melbourne today. The weather was perfect for caching, nice and warm with no rain. We decided to selectively cache pick up Virtual caches, older caches, and other caches that will help us complete challenge caches and visit a couple of cemeteries for a Whereigo cache. We both remember watching two of the three shows associated with this cache. Interestingly, one of the main actors was also a regular on Play School for a while. Thank you, Rhinogeo, for this Virtual cache.
I found myself in the area for an event (Bernie H's 10,000 finds celebration). I also had my 2 kids with me. They had not heard of the show as they are too far too young but I sure remember it well. Loved watching it and had a favourite character or two. One of my kids said "It that the same people like the character from Monsters Inc.?" I laughed and said it wasn't. Gosh there were some great shows produced in the good old days unlike the rubbish and drivel dished out today.
It was dark now when we pulled up here. I gathered the information required fairly quickly.
I had sent the CO my answers only to get a reply that I had one of the answers wrong. Hmmm, pays to read the question properly. Fixed in no time. Permission was now had from the CO to log the find.
Thank you for the Virtual here Rhinogeo It was great to be nostalgic here

After spending the morning at the Camberwell market, visiting Fed Square for an exhibition, and then to Acland Street, St Kilda to stock up on cakes for tonight's dessert we were making our way back to our hotel in Wantirna and I wanted to find a few more caches on my list of '500 Oldest Active Vic Caches'.
When I was young this show was must-see viewing every week for our family, and I can also remember the opening scene of the very first episode. Nice to see this building from the show in person, brings back many memories. Thx to rhinogeo for setting up this virtual, answers have been sent as required.

I really enjoyed this virtual, a nice old one too! Its been a really long time since I have watched this show but one back in the day I did really enjoy so it was great to discover where this brought us. Some research required and Q3 took a little searching but all very enjoyable and a fav for sure! Answers have been sent and the okay to log granted.
Trip log: I have had a trip in mind for a while now, a 'Victoria loop' which would see a number of counties travelled through but also visit the last active Web Cam left for me in Australia and a 2000 cache which would see my Ausmer complete! A trip would not be complete without some company so a little convincing and a suitable friend was talked into coming along... and for good measure they would drive and keep me from getting myself into too much trouble while at it!
Counties featured high on my list, but each one filled with quality... oldies, larges, and types that where sought. As is the way the list led to a varied and interesting trip with some very amazing locations discovered along the way.
Day one saw a lot of distance travelled but just four caches found for the day, all quality and after a trip up Mt Buller late in the day we settled into the finest lodgings Mansfield had left.
Day two started well and the highlight among many was GC7A with my Ausmer complete but a great cache location and the gate installed for easy access was a hit. Our journey took us onto a number of locations and through the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. It was here with the light drizzle that settled into solid rain that I was thankful of my driver who calmly followed my directions despite the conditions as I juggled caches on my list to replace the walks the rain and the 13 degrees weather had made too uncomfortable. Ending the day cold and wet in Dandenong the accommodation made up for the previous nights and the local pizza sure did hit the spot.
Day three saw a return to lovely weather with us driving the guard rail hwy... endless guardrails on all roads. Frankie the Gnome wasn't on the list but too hard to miss as we passed! Down to Mornington Peninsula and through some interesting locations towards Lakes entrance and stopped in Bairnsdale overnight.
Day four and after a little local caching around the 'lakes' area on another lovely day, it was the long haul up towards Eden. The 2020 fires devastation was enormous as we drove through the endless winding road with all the fluffy looking regrowth. Crazy to think back to that time and see how nuts it all was. Another full day but made it safe and sound back home again.
Many thanks to all the CO's for your caches that led us on an enjoyable journey through some interesting locations with great places visited along the way..

Just got clearance to log this one. Thanks to some of my mates back in Adelaide that helped me with the curly question. Fun fact: I never saw a single episode of this show despite being the right age at the time. I did however enjoy Ingrid Mason on “Blankety Blanks”. Was she serious or acting?

Had a lovely walk through the leafy streets. I recognised the location from shots of the show. It wasn’t a show I ever watched, but with a little research all the pieces soon fell into place.

Fun to learn about the show and the history of the area. Answers sent to CO. Fave point from me. TFTC
I visited this location a while ago and I have to admit that I hadn't seen the show so many of the answers were foreign to me, and would require some research. So with lockdown upon us google became my friend and I was able to finally submit my answers and log (well after a mistake which Rhinogeo kindly nudged me in the right direction). Answers submitted and log made - finally ticked off my list. An interesting cache about times gone by
Thanks for the hide Rhinogeo!

I haven't seen this TV show however I have heard it was quite popular and the building was nice to see from the outside. The answers were a little tricky to locate and I enlisted a few older friends whom had seen the show however in the end Google was my friend...
Thanks for a different type of virtual cache and answers will be sent through.

What a magnificent setting for a TV series from that era. I can't recall watching this series, but looking at some of the old footage certainly reveals how much has changed since the 1970's. My searching was a little deficient so it took two attempts to get the green light to post from Rhinogeo. I also enjoyed a stroll around the area to admire some of the other vintage houses nearby, and to find another cache of course. Thanks for this virtual cache.
Found together with emandel on a long kid-free bike ride. Thank you for showing us this beautiful place.
Found and sent message to owner on May 16. Haven't received a confirmation, but since it's been > a week, I presume it's OK to log. Thank you very much for taking us to this interesting spot and showing a bit of local history!
After a false start, thanks to Question 2, a little further research got us the green light from CO to log. It was gratifying to see that at least this lovely old building has escaped the wrecker's ball. TFTC Rhinogeo!
Hidden jewel in the area.
Down in Melbourne for work so filled in my Sunday with a few caches
Thanks for bringing me here

Spent the week in Melbourne catching up with friends. While on my visit, I targeted Wherigos, Labs, Virtuals and Ausmer/Jasmer caches. I ended up coming away very satisfied with the statistics-based growth. Thanks to all the Cache Owners for their contributions to the game.
A quick trip across to Melton for an event and I brought up some select caches to try along the way.
This one had been on the horizon for a while and today was the today. A tricky little virtual which I fell into a couple of what I now see as the obvious traps. But with some extended research I finally got there.
Growing up in Wycheproof in the late 70s and early 80s where we only really had ABC, this show was a staple, that I remember watching well. Not well enough to know the actual answers without some internet research though....

This one has been on my radar for a while .. we used to watch this on TV without fail .. and of course took the opportunity at the time to visit all the locations hopping to see a star or two when visiting family who lived in the area. Thanks Rhinogeo for creating this Virtual taking us Boomers back down memory lane and introducing others to some classic Australian TV
I saw this virtual the other night and though it might be a good one to go and get, with an hour to spare before an event at Albert Park I drive to this one, an interesting spot that I have seen on TV but never in real life, thanks for bringing me here.

In MELBOURNE for a birthday celebration so looked for some non-traditional caches to do. Spotted this one before we left home and enjoyed the researching. This was a favorite show of our family. Arrived at the spot for the final answer . Thanks very much for this virtual. We had a great time working out the answers.
We have had the information for the first three questions for some time but have never had time to make the necessary visit to collect the final piece of information. Today we arrived in Melbourne with a few hours to spare and used the time to collect the final pieces of information for three virtual caches. At this location there were no problems getting the final piece of information.
Answers to all four questions were sent to the CO. We recieved a reply that three of our four answers were correct and were invited to resubmit on the one answer. When this was done, we got the all clear to log our find. Thanks Rhinogeo for an enjoyable Virtual, based on a TV program that we do admit to watching on occasions.

Yippee- and on account of the research and sleuthing that needed to be done have I learnt a lot about this TV series! Thanks to a very patient CO the penny finally dropped Loved visiting this location too. TFTC
Attended this virtual cache few weeks ago, found the history interesting. I watched very few episodes but never like it! Been struggling to find an answer for Question 3 for while, glad I got it correct at the end. CO confirmed that my find is authorised. Thanks Rhinogeo for great history lesson and bringing me there.

Out and about early this morning in order to avoid the peak hour inbound on the westgate, which allowed me some caching time before reaching my destination. A few targeted caches that helped with various challenges i’m working on, this one helps toward the new mixed fizzy grid challenge that requires me to use virtual caches for 9 of the 81 combo’s. This becomes my 7th virtual d/t combo. The show itself was before my time but a bit of research (both online and questioning my parents) got me over the line.
Thanks Rhinogeo for placing this Virtual - this is find 1495 for BFMC

Found with Kittykatch and Grimraider on a weekend visiting Melbourne. Lovely to find these old caches attached to tv memories. Used to watch this show for years. Apart from being a freezing weekend weather wise we had a great time. Kittykatch forwarded answers to CO for us all. TFTC
GrimRaider, Joolay and I stopped in to check out this spot and gather clues for the Virtual cache here. I used to love the Sullivans and spent many nights watching the show with my family. Different times back then, when we would all gather the next day to talk about what had happened in the show the night before. Answers have been sent to the CO - thanks for the cache !
I wandered up to this site while I was waiting for my nephew to finish his class at the nearby school on Saturday. Sent my answers in today - had to phone a friend for Q3 but that added to the fun. Nice nostalgic visit. TFTC
A little bit of spare time this evening so I came to collect a few caches. This cache was a show I knew of but not sure I have watched. One of the answers took some research but finally it was found. Thanks to Rhinogeo for the placement and fun.

Picked this one up on a run. Had to do a fair bit of research, watching a bit of the show got me across the line. Thanks for the history and bringing me to this place.
I did my research (using the hint in the cache description about what the answer *isn't*) before heading out for this one. Despite having grown up in Australia in the 70s and 80's I admit that I have never seen this show! I did however, watch a bit of the show that the street references. That may explain why I find body shirts curiously appealing. Answers sent to CO. TFTC!

This cache tops off a cracking caching day. 9 different Types. Started with a CITO, then an Event, both at Pykes creek, Then caching around Bacchus Marsh, Had the rest, Trad, Multi, Mystery, Whereigo, Earth, Letterbox. I'm old enough to have watched the Sullivans, It was a great show. Glad I was made aware of this house.
Thanks **Rhinogeo**

In the area today turning a few more into smileys. Did some research during my lunch break today, and gathered the rest of the info while here. Answers submitted, and log now authorised.

We undertook this Virtual Cache this morning, but although we have some of the answers required we still need to do a bit of googling, and so until we can find a moment to do so during our current travels we are posting this Write Note only to keep our cache finds in order. In the meantime thanks so much for the Virtual cache and greetings from Zimbabwe
We had some time to fill between medical appointments so took the opportunity to do a couple of caches.
This one took us way too long but we were quite engrossed in the research needed.
This is a stunning location.
Thanks for the cache and pointing this out to us.

Had a medical appointment today with a couple of hours to fill before returning so what else would you do but cache. Was pleased that we did this one as, even though I hardly ever watched the show, I am aware of it. The amount of effort that went into making this show historically correct, from events on particular dates to even the weather on those dates. Phenomenal. Thanks so much for bringing this to our attention.
This series was a really big deal when I was growing up. Family and neighbours discussed events after each episode with keen interest. I had no idea where it was filmed before trying this cache. Thanks for a nostalgic and interesting experience!
Thank you Rhinogeo for this cache. I never knew where this series was filmed. Back in the days of no internet and parents who didn't drive I had no idea where most of the TV series made in Melbourne were actually filmed. Thanks to geocaching I now know where 4 series were filmed. Out yesterday finding some caches for the end of 2018. Today - welcome to 2019 - how fitting. TFTC Rhinogeo.
