Found with daywalk on a side trip on the way to Oamaru for an Event. Great place and very kind of owners to let the public wander round what must still be a working farm. Had a chat with the 'dowager duchess' who lives on the property and told us many fascinating details of life there.

It's very kind of the farmer to allow the public to wander around and enjoy the historic estate - talking to the lady, she knows about this cache and we told her about the multi here. Wonderful place, well worth a visit. Thank you for bringing us here.
Was staying at a neighbouring property on a long overdue visit home to attend my daughter's wedding and thought a walk through the grounds with Wheelies2 would be in order. We enjoyed exploring around the old buildings and cannons. Easy find at GZ.
I used to live on neighbouring Maraeweka and swam here in the summers.
Sorry about the delay in logging the cache.

This cache location brought back memories for me. I had been here some 30 or 40 years ago and I had a chance to film the treasures in the colonel's home. There had been a family feud and the property had been closed for many years. There is an extensive collection of weapondary both inside and out and it's worth a visit.
what a great spot, a real gem! log book was a bit damp but unfortunately did not have any 'caching' supplies in the car to replace it. TFTC
gets a smiley from me as it was such a great location

Found quickly, but we were met with a logbook looking like it was in a bit of a sorry state. Thanks.
And so begins our 2013 odyssey. A wonderful place to visit; full of history!!!
Almost forgot to log this one! A late night find, with rabbits nearby & the sound of gunshot in the distance!!! Good thing for the rabbits that they were in the park. TNLN TFTC
I had read about this cache many years ago and very much looked forward to visiting this historic estate one day. Today was the day. Very impressive place! Mrs BaldEd was charged with the cache finding. Thanks for leading us here Bitsprayer.
What a great place! Really interesting and somewhere we'll certainly come back to. TFTC.
Popped over here for a quick hunt as soon as we arrived, just in case the Colonel turned up. He muggled Moneydork whilst I was doing this cache Cheers Gav [6563]

This is an amazing place, who was to know this was here. A great spot for a cache, found with Yeetrees. Many thanks for bringing us here.

Found with YuGeo4. This will be one of the gems of this trip, never knew this place ever existed and I will definitely be coming back with Mrs Yeetrees to discover this area a bit more, thank you very much for bringing us here. TFTC TNLNSL (1253)
First of the afternoon on a caching mission with two others. Had the blood hound Froogal with us so he zeroed in straight away. Signed the log and then spent some time reading the paques and looking at the guns.
Thanks

What an amazing place. Met the owner who is very suspicious of "treasure hunters" as many of the movable parts of the items of interest have been half-inched. Explained it wouldn't have been "us". Facinating history - would never have gone to place other than for caching.
Now this was one very cool spot, long time between drinks...
Grabbed Butterfly ladies GC.
Many thanks.

A truely amazing and so unexpected place, very strange in some ways but I was totally fascinated. Some fog just starting to clear gave some really nice light for this very photogenic spot.

Always love this place. Dropped in Biten by the Bug to encourage more people to visit this lovely place.
Quick find, observed by some sheeps. Thank you!

Well I never! What an amazing place in the middle of nowhere. Quick find on my way home after a 24 hour raid on North Otago. Finding the correct road out took longer than getting the cache
Haven't been here for ages. Last time was on an AA Sundstrum Car Rally.

Been there before, interesting area full of historic pieces. Last time I was there I found a German gun captured in WW1 that the British Museum wanted but were not going to give, but this time I could not find it.
This has got to be the best cache site we've seen - amazing place, and totally unexpected, cache an easy find, and spent a long time here looking at everything - thanks Bitsprayer - well done!
Wonderful site, one of those that really makes this sport exceptional. Thanks Bitsprayer.
Wow, a really neat spot! Very interesting. Still a lovely day, but starting to cool down a bit.
TNLN, Thanks,
Mike.

First cache of the day on a trip to do the caches just inland from Oamaru. Hard frost. My new car has an outside temperature readout (bit gimmicky but it seems accurate when compared to the radio's temp announcements) and it was indicating minus five. Never knew of this place. Fascinating, and we intend coming back in the summer to have a good look around. Thanks for bringing us here. TNLN.
What a cool spot even caught a glimps of the colonel, handle bar mostache and all, watching us look around took lots of photos towill add them soon

Found this one on the way back from the view, great place, have been here before, plenty of muggles around, something on there that day
I found it about 8:50 pm, so it would soon be dark. I didn't hang around, but I'll return someday to have a good look around. Cheers, Donovan.
Came out here with the Bitsprayer family.
Found the cache as they pulled into the site.
Awesome old artillary and associated military parifinalia.
Thanks Bitsprayer, I would never have discovered this spot if it weren't for the cache.

An interesting spot, lots of old stuff. Like a time capsule. The Colonel was nowhere to be found.
Excellent cache.

Some people take owning a firearm for home security a leeetle too seriously, we think. I mean, one or two howitzers, maybe, but enough artillery pieces to take on the NZ Army seems a little excessive!
We met the Colonel (well, the original's great-grandson) and had a wee chat, as he some sort of visitors had him banished from his own house.
Thanks for showing us this amazing place!

What a wonderful place to find our 400th cache. We thought we'd never be able to go and look as "The Colonel" collared us and gave us the life history of each gun and then every building!! In the end he went over to pick up his mail and we surreptitiously crept to the cache site!! This was indeed a worthy cache. Thanks Bitsprayer for giving us a such a good cache spree - we had to get home tonight for a 21st but we will certainly be back to do some of the multis that we had to miss out on this time.
Again, a big thank you

Yes this is a very interesting place and even more so if you are fortunate enough to get a guided tour of the homestead, the treasures that are housed there will blow you away as will the story of the Kuriheka Estate.
Good one Robert
