It appears the cache has been lost I have had a offer to place a cache in this beautiful spot, so hopefully there will be will an active cache at this location soon.
Looked and looked and looked but without any luck. Strongly suggest that this one has gone.

There were heaps of people visiting the gorge today. Waited on the boardwalk lookout for a while to see if there was a gap in passing and returning traffic but no chance! . I had come a long way to get this cache and wasn't leaving without finding it.
I hatched a plan. I would drop my handkerchief over the boardwalk and onto the ground then would have to scamper off and under the boardwalk to retrieve it (and of course the cache). I would go with keys in hand and drop them when I picked up my hankie, muttering about looking for my keys and giving me an opportunity to search around under the boardwalk for the cache.
I then proceeded with the plan, explaining to people walking past what I was doing. Got the hankie then started muttering about dropping my keys and couldn't find them, while looking for the cache. It worked well. But I had to then hide the cache on my person and retreat to a different area to sign the log. But how to put it back without raising suspicions. Well, I planned to wait about 10 minutes until a new batch of muggles had arrived and the old batch had departed, then repeat the hankie and keys plan. All the while people were walking up and down the boardwalk. Then two ladies decided they would stop right on GZ and talk - for ages! I waited, and waited, and waited. To avoid spending all day there I contemplated issuing a tsunami alert for the river to get them to move but finally their husbands dragged them away. I then repeated my plan with success - I think!
After all that I signed the log. TFTC Rudy&Ruby.

A quick find at 11:35am, once we actually got around to GZ. GPS reception was very tricky and lots of muggles around. What a beautiful spot!! we spent at least an hour swimming afterwards. Absolutely awesome!
Great spot - lots of people swimming and visiting the lookout. Too bad the bridge was closed as that view of Mossman Gorge was something we were looking forward to on our visit to Australia. Now it's just one more reason to come back! TFTC - #279.
Pt. Douglas Trip 09.6. There were lots of people in the water today, a side effect of the heat. It meant most people were watching those in the river, not me poking around off the track. Thanks.

Took some effort to get the cache without being detected. Lots of people around. That, in combination with the high temperature, produced a lot of sweat!!

What a great spot Just the sort of spot for a cache, tnln. Found this one in company with Mewt..
Found today on our loverly walk up the trail. Muggles were about but not to bad. Water was flowing and we had a paddle! TNLN TFTC
Constant stream of muggles coming and going today, in the end just couldn't find an unobserved moment to search for the cache. Too bad! Also, the longer hike in this area was closed today, a bit of a disappointment. Still, a pretty area, glad to have seen it.
NIce cache but river flowing too high for a safe swim. Must be a lovely spot on a sunny day.
Cache easily found, then off for a nice refreshing swim.
What a beautiful spot!
Many thanks.

This was a nice place to visit the water was flowing really well due to recent rains. Pity it wasn't a bit sunnier at the time. I would have had a swim but the water was too cold for Bedmaker. All the other tourists where braving the water which was good as that left GZ clear of any muggles. Found it and all OK. TFTC.
perfect day to go for a swim, lot's of mugles thought the same... found it right away;

16.50 - First in 2009. Tricky with poor sat reception in the tree cover. Hint and instinct made up for it. Nice location and bugger all muggles on this rainy Sunday pm. -/+ 0. T4TC
Thanks for the cache!!! It was so much fun. It is my first cache on the Australian continent. And what a perfect location for it. I found it without any GPS device at all. I tried a few possible location with no luck, but when I came back from the extended jungle walk, it was pretty much clear where should I look for it. SL. TFTC!
For some unknown reason the last thing we expected to see was cattle grazing around the swamp, there was also a few birds making use of what's left of the water. This is a really great location as in Victoria not many of the hides have such good identification charts. Once the GPS finally settled down we knew exactly where the cache would be

We had alsorts of fun here, we couldn't take our GPS out of the car as our batteries were flat, so we searched under every boardwalk we came across. We will be back to try and find it another day, and as we only live 15mins away, we will come again when it isn't so busy. What an adventure, it was our first day caching, and second stop... back soon.
Lots of muggles about (as usual by the looks of things!) but isn't it amazing how clumsy nearby some caches? Oops! I dropped my.... (fill in the blank). Was able to retrieve and return the cache without arousing any suspicion. Loved the gorge, and the water was only freezing for the first minute or two TFTC

Likewise, heaps of muggles about. Spotted container but elected not to retrieve it or log the find.
Today everyone decided to visit this site. It was muggle central. Fortunately most were into swimming and an opportunity arose to dive into the hidey hole and do the deed while several more groups passed over. Cache container was on the ground so replaced it back up where it won't get washed away in one on the tropical down pours that occur during the wet season. Then another gap in the traffic allowed me to rejoin the intrepid one and noone was any the wiser.

We have to admit we used the hint to find this one - without it we would have been scratching around for a while, and with hundreds of muggles about on a beautiful day we would have been way too suspicious. The hint helped us find the cache within seconds. Took nothing, left a silver ring, a shell, and a red soccer ball. TFTC.
Happy Birthday to Ruby. GPS was all over the place when a signal was available. Resorted to the hint which made it very easy. TNLN TFTC. We should have built in the time for a swim.
A message for you, Ruby: Your cache is popular and often surrounded by muggles. TFTC
1100 With Mrs C, we had decided to head north while there was a possibility of the sky clearing. Not warm enough to go swimming, but enjoyed the view (and the cache). Grabbed an inactive coin (Oink, cache Critter).

Found safe and sound with great coordinates, the clue wasn't needed! We were worried about signal strength, and we lost it intermittently, but close to GZ it was OK. A truly fabulous spot, and one we were going to visit anyway, the cache was an added bonus. We only wish we had our swimming gear with us - a bad oversight! Thanks Ruby&Rudy

XC and ex Muggle "Conman" out on a hunt in rental car. A day off from Veterinary conference allowed us to get out and about.
Came here and enjoyed the walk up to GZ. Soo many muggles we had to pick our moment. Managed to retrieve between waves of muggles.
Signed log and uplifted trackables in residence. Dropped in Destination Bangkok TB. Hopefully it will move further north.

Gorgeous area, glad I got up early to visit as I was able to find the cache without disturbance, however the lid was rusted and I couldn't get it off! The contents of the cache look wet through too. So it could do with some TLC.
Took some photos from the nearby viewpoint that I will load up later. On my way back from the rainforest trail, the area was heaving - muggles galore!

Found by Mr Emu & Demon Boy on our "FNQ holiday" @ .m., GAFF3 http://wiki.geocaching.com.au/wiki/GAFF . What a wonderful location. The whole family enjoyed the visit to Mossman Gorge, and we did a lot of walking after finding the cache. Unfortunately the cache itself is a bit wet inside - probably not an ideal container, but thanks for the cache anyway, Rudy&Ruby.

Can say that the water is definately cold. Enjoyed a brisk swim and a tumble down the rapids. Cache was hard to get into but perserverance paid off. An unusual container but with a bit of back and forth on the lid it finaly gave us our prize.
After several attempts we couldn't remove the lid from the cache, due to corrosion. Contents look very wet.
Found at 11.50am on a stunning morning at this beautiful location. Couldn't get the lid off the cache to sign log or make swaps. TFTC
Found the cache but the log book was a wreck. Dropped in a replacement piece of paper for cachers to use as a temporary log but the container also needs upgrading to make things more waterproof. This is a fantastic spot for a cache, perhaps one of the locals could adopt this one and help fix it up. TFTC.

My husband really wanted to come and visit Mossman Gorge. We got there in the early evening, and went for a loop walk on the track. We enjoyed the different viewpoints, Mossman River, Rex Creek, and the swing bridge.
I was worried that we wouldn't find the cache, as we were having difficulties with reception, but we managed to get it. We almost had the whole place to ourselves, which was pretty nice (except for a couple that we found sitting by the water at one point).
When we got back to the parking lot, it was getting pretty dark, and we saw lots of fireflies. The only time that we saw fireflies while visiting Australia.

Yes, the cache is here and quite wet. Great place to visit from Santa Barbara, California. Thanks.
Great spot. Not much GPS signal and raining heavily.Lid not screwed on properly.Log wet . Unable to leave message.Took garfield glasses cloth.Left dinosaur finger puppet.TFTC.
This place was over run with Muggles today. Nice hot weather has bought everyone down to their favourite swimming hole.
Due to lack of GPS reception, we kept walking till we came across the right place. Very difficult to extract with people everywhere, waited for the right moment and dived under for an easy find. Yes it is quite exposed, should it be higher?
Contents are wet, but we had nothing to replace the log with.

Yep, lots of muggles alright. We bided our time and managed to grab and then replace the cache during a short break in traffic. This is a lovely spot, one of my favourite in far north QLD and our third visit here although the previous times were almost 20 years ago! Thanks!
Before crossing the Daintree river we went for this cache at the Mossman gorge.
First there where too many muggles around so we decided to do the 2 KM walk first.
Beautiful. When we returned we could sneak the cache from its place.

This is another one that I have been waiting to come back online. Thanks for reseting it Liz and Bruce. Arrived there nice and early. Managed to extract cache without a problem howvever putting it back in was a litle more difficult due to constant stream of a cycling tour group passing through.

Stoode directly over it but too many muggles to chance a pick up. Thanks for the hide however since it brought up to an interesting spot.
This is a beautiful location that I would recommend visiting to everyone. Unfortunately everyone seems to know this already, there were muggles everywhere so we couldnt look for the cache. We were there at mid-day, so perhaps an early visit to this site would have more luck =)

A beautiful location and as busy the second time as it was the first time. We did a return visit to show my sister from Adelaide the area. TNLN. Thanks for the cache.
We got as far as the carpark, the rain was hitting the car so hard it hurt, and no-one set foot outside the car. After waiting 15 minutes we decided to leave, as it wasn't the weather for a swim and the river was raging. So we didn't even get our swim
We suspect that this cache has been washed out to sea - caches placed nearby to river banks in the dry season quickly become flotsam in the wet season. The particular river that this cache is/was sited experiences significant variation in water levels and is particularly dangerous at anytime except when water levels are low.
If the owner is not available to check on the cache then we recommend archiving.

Yeah!! Search as I can... Nothing there!! I hope the owner will fix it very soon as I will return back eh!!!. Anyway thank you for organise the cache and hunt.
I agree with the last log. Found the empty blue screw top container and took away the rubbish. Looks to me as if this one has been washed away, but then again maybe its just being an elusize little fellow. Thanks for bringing us to a nice spot though, only wish we had taken the time to expore upstream a bit away from the crowds.
This must be one of my favourite DNF's. On a 27 degree day this swimming hole was just fantastic
Water temp was just right and I got a bit sidetracked in my search for a while. Finally got to the search bit, but alas I couldn't locate the cache
(I found a 2litre clear blue, round, screwtop container wedged in the rocks nearby but it had no lid and no contents)
Aaaah well, it was worth the visit for the swim and scenery

Attempted cache on this nice sunny day but the current was just too strong unless your a very strong swimmer it's too dangerous. I got half way across but its just not worth it. In the dryer months it may be better but I don't think its the best place for the cache. I appreciate the cache to do, but perhaps move it to this side of the river to be safer? It's really not that safe.
Visited with Boxigo, but was unwilling to ignore the *three* separate signs advising against swimming here.
We almost got there but the river looked too treacherous today as the photographs show. Hopefully it will be a low, slow tide on our next visit so that we can complete it.
Apart from the Mothers day crowd and the high water levels when I see signs that say swimming is not allowed as deaths have occured in this river at this spot, I wonder about the suitability for a cache which requires you to swim across a dangerous river. TKS.
We went to the area where this cache is placed but after more than 250mm of rain over the past few days we couldn't quite get to the final destination.
Thanks
Thanks
Very invigorating swim across to the other side. Brilliant underwater visibilty however, with many Jungle Perch in the pools. Loads of people arriving all the time. Cache contents still dry inside plastic bag and container supplied by Team Grey Fox. Handy knife very rusty though. Took Dolphin Left ring holder. SL
Other than half of Mossman being at the 'beach' this was a fantastic interlude.
Noticing that the cache was exposed and wet we picked up a waterproof ( but not ratproof) plastic box in town to replace the broken one and swam across and very carefully ( so as not to attract the thousand or so geomuggles) replaced the contents including a new log and pencil. Took Peeler and placed plastic shark

Found with GDOE Lucky. Cache needs new logbook and container by next person to visit this site. TFTC.
Being a Cairns local, I hadn't been there for years. I was able to take my three children there for a great swim (although very cold). Heaps of people in the area but I was able to swim across and pretend to be nature hunting. The cache is well worn and soaked. The log book is totally drenched and unable to be opened or used. I took three large zip lock bags and placed all of the cache in sperate bags and then the entire cache in another. I took the rubber snake and left a potato peeler. If someone is heading for this cache soon, please take a new Spiral notepad to be used as a log book. I hope that the zip lock bags that are now there will help keep everything dry. Great cache.
Very popular spot! Shame to find the cache in such a bad state, unfortunately we had nothing to help waterproof or replace log with, especially as we were a little soggy at the time! Definatly worth reviving.
