You're right, Rogue, that was ground zero. The cache was under one of the burned out grass trees. There was a melted mass and part of the wooden pencil with the graphite still in it. Can Cann - RIP
Unfortunately I couldn't find it. In fact I didn't even see anywhere likely that you would hide a cache. However, there seems to have been a lot of 'spot fires' around here lately, specifically in spots involving black boy trees. I have attached a photo of what I hope was not GZ.
Hopefully the cache turns out to be fine... *fingers crossed*
Thanks for the lovely walk in the bush anyway, it was a very nice track.

We went looking for this cache (the second for the day), at about 4:00pm. We parked a bit too far, and walked about 1km to the cache. It was so peaceful out there, so serene.
The coordinates were spot on, and we found it after a bit of a search.
It is still in good condition.

Was my birthday today, so in the afternoon we decided to go out for a bit of bushwalking on the Armadale Common, as we hadn't been there before. Enjoyed the nice cool peaceful late afternoon wander through the bush taking photos.
GZ was spot on, found the cache easily.

Found the cache at 7.10pm - It was cool evening and saw some kangaroos. I am enjoyed myself. Took TB Andy's World and will moving to Perth. No swap and Signed log. Thanks for the hunt.
I thought I'd duck out here late Sunday afternoon as I've got a TB that needs moving on but I'm going to be pressed for time after work this week. This is Andy's World Traveller and it wants to keep going around the world, I was going to drop it off near Perth but it's just not going to happen. I wonder if someone else can help him on his way. Nice spot for a cache, by the way, I took the 2 canines with me. Big one (Running Bear) spotted a roo and wanted to play. Little one (Little White Dove) is so height impaired that all she saw was the wet bushes. C'est la vie.
Signed log, Took nothing, left TB.

Ooops, just noticed that my original log note has not appeared - no doubt I did something wrong. Visited with Billy the Geomutt. Cache safe and well, took a DVD but can't remember what I left as it was a week or more ago.
I now have a GPS and it works as I found this cache. I rode in on my bike , Good area for riding around here.

Parked off the main road and walked to this one using various tracks.
Very peaceful and quiet out there today. Zeroing in on the cache zone I thought I might be in for a bit of an extended bush hunt but when the GPSr settled, found cache in first spot I checked.
Took: Nothing!

Had a bit of fun finding which side to tackle this cache from. So close and yet so far.
had a walk through the bush and kept getting things stuck in my shoes and scratched legs but i found the cache
We must have used every track in the area to find this one. We narrowed it down to the right area and finaly found the correct one on the way back out to the road. We had driven on this track about 6 months ago while having a look around for suitable cache sites so its good to see someone has used the area for just the reason. We took out the Toy car and put in some Currency from Burma. We had collected this in Singapore a couple of weeks ago. The cache we took it out of was mouldy so we repaired that cache and took the money home and dried it. The note is dry but has some mould patches on it but it still is interesting to look at. Thanks for the drive and cache hunt.
A nice walk in the bush,I'm really getting to like the Australian bush now that I'm understanding the different plants and trees. You won't want to go here at the moment if you suffer from hayfever....as you get close to GZ the area is covered in a heath type plant that is filling the air with a heavenly scent.....alright for those that like that .... Great spot.

Enjoyed this nice little jaunt in the Common and found cache easily. Went back to car on a slightly different route and came across a dumping ground with bones scattered all around , after a quick inspection (felt like CSI!!) decided not to hang around!!

We approached this cache from the east, and had some difficulty getting a good fix because of the trees, but Kath finally found the right spot. T: boomerang keyring, L: melbourne koala bear. We haven't been into this part of Settlers Common before, and enjoyed the walk through the to the cache. TFTC
We too approached this one wondering about the tracks leading in. Decided to bite the bullet and made it to about 65 metres before deciding that going further forward was going to require application of the little gear lever and that not being in the proper spirit of things it was deemed time to unfold the legs. Once the diesel clatter had died away we heard loud raucous bird calls and saw carnivorous plants! Fantastic trip for my little ones and I fear more bushwalking may be ahead at least according to my family.... The two girls showing scant respect for their little brother's wishes donated one of his toycars for the beautiful necklace... sigh. Thanks.
Lots of tracks around to be chosen and decided to leave 2wd car on one of the tracks and walked down. It was very pleasant bushwalking. A pair of Red-tailed Black Cockatoo up the tree looked down and made a noise when we found the cache. TN, and left a Perth Key Ring. Thanks for the hunt and walk, The Cache Rangers.
Was hoping to be FTF but just beat by TLC. Nice walk in the park b4 the rain came. Took tape left pens, drink bottle.
Found this one early in the morn and after a few false starts on dead end tracks we eventually made it close to the cache. Gizmo lept from the car and proceeded directly to GZ ... Hmmm ... maybe the soap?
