We checked out the site and yes the council tree felling has impacted on the cache hiding spot. We will wait a little to see what it looks like when the tidying up is completed but the cache may have to be archived sometime soon.
We went there today and found that logging is being carried out at the site.Think that the Cache may have been lost when the trees were fallen.
Nice little area but not to much water flowing today. As previous notes about log damp and I logged on blank back, TFTC
Lovely spot for a cache.
Agree with previous log - book damp and full. Managed to squeeze my name on the lined page - there's room on the other side, but no nicely ruled lines.

Easy find. TNLN. The log is full and damp. The park is a great place to visit. A great ecosystem. We could hear various birds and frogs. Like the way the Council have managed the water and pathed the park. Worthy of a visit.
Found this cache with my personal travel bug Ice Age Scrat along our 3 moths trip around the whole New Zealand,

It is well worth walking right round the loop on a wet day. We can confirm the water comes down the chute at high speed, and continues out the other end through the neatly manicured lawns, under the swings and trampoline! Easy find. TFTC
Went for a midnight walk for this one. I should have read the other comments about the walkway before setting-out because there is no obvious access to the walkway from where the road sign points and I wasn't game to go beyond what appeared to be the start of a private road.
After finding an entrance from another road, the rest was easy.

Unfortunately the container, a vitamin tablet tube, has become a bit damp inside and has rusted the sharpener and softened the log paper.
The AA sign saying "Walkway" had us up the wrong road to start with. Luckily our aversion to steep hills allowed us to have a rethink and find the easy access. Great little park. The water must pour down the chute at a great rate when it rains.

Spent a while looking at every possible place at least twice before looking at the right one! Such is caching, thanks Sallies.
Will study the map more carefully in future. Had a steep slide down to the cache. TFTC
What a neat wee walk. Right on my back-door too. Been meaning to do it for months so finally done. - popper, + black gecko bottle opener.
Thats quite some watershed upstream considering there is no down stream at all! Quick find. TFTH. TNLN.
My first cache. Will bring more hints with me next time! We went off the track looking for it...oops! With Peregrina.
Behind a cabbage tree ... TFTC! Took a bouncy ball, left a party popper. Log book seems a little damp, so the writing was pretty faint ...
Nice spot and easy find. Thanks for the cache - these are just as important as the ones that take a degree in hygronomics.
Nice little area, although we did approach from the wrong angle, a steep angle at that.

Took 20+ minutes to find this cache. I parked 150m away. Looked at the base of every tree, and came across a spiky bush that someone must have poisoned. It still hurt!!! GPSr wouldn't settle. Sat next to GZ (1m away), but no cache. I'd given up and was about to climb down when I spotted the cache. TFTC
Our children went off and found this one on their own. Great confidence booster for them. Anyone can do it...!
didnt know this spot existed! Cache log book and contents very damp. And sort of exposed. Hid again as best I could
What a lovely sheltered spot. On a cold winter's day it was bathed in sun and the cicadas were at full volume! Cache was a quick find. Thanks for bringing us here.
The approach by biking up the road to this one was a bit embarrassing. A runner passed me! I told her it was embarrassing and that I had been biking for 4 hours (poor excuse). She proceeded to leave me for dust. A nice quick cache find though and thankfully it wasn't too far up the hill. 16 of 19 finds for Mr Explorer's cycle tour of Christchurch today. TFTC.
#250 (4/7 in a sweep through Southern Chch). Found with Troodles. GPS coverage a bit patchy at GZ, but didn't take too long to find.
Didn't bring the complete description, so we climed down directly from the road! This made this cache a bit adventerous. Easily found, unfortunately to small for our travelbug.

Lovely park. If I ever move to Christchurch I think this is the part I'd like to live in.

Nice! Lovely wee spot. Happened to sit in the right place to consult our PDA, entirely by accident as our GPS wasn't being too helpful!!!

Well, the mapping GPS took us the scenic route. There are a few walkways in this area.
There has been a fair amount of work go in here - its impressive - the "levels" were way down creating quite a few new ways to walk - added to the fun. A nice spot, thanks for bringing us here on this peaceful day. TNLN T4TC.
#399 - woohoo.

Took us two goes to find this one as got side tracked on a rather long track - not the three minute loop - perhaps a closer read of the instructions may have been a good idea.

The small snaplock bag in this Cache is broken and the log paper is pretty worn, cheers
Prada a local affection loving cat,
escorted us round the path and straight to the cache.

A couple of side trips trying to find the entrance to the reserve but an easy find once there. Just had to ignore the "reserve closed, risk of falling rocks" sign...

Nice easy find,... GPS was spot on. No muglles to be seen but some nice houses and gardens around here... love the stream bed away from the weir!!

Approached this from the wrong road and wrong walking track! It was a steep climb back to the car
Managed to avoid any serious rock falls (don't the authorities go overboard at times!!). Coordinates spot on as usual. TNLN.
A nice Saturday afternoon. Not quite a marmite container (I think because I haven’t quite developed the taste for the stuff. Yuck.). Between that and my GPS bouncing a bit I was searching for a bit until I found what I was looking for. Nice park and with a number of muggles out walking the loop. But fortunately, you can see them come in so you know that they are coming eventually. TNLN. Thanks!
Found in a lovely area. A little concerning with track closure signs due to rockfall posted at both ends of the loop. Got to see a few little ducks as well.
An easy find, but not ideal GPS reception meant eliminating another spot first.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Lovely Spot, second find for the day. A very friendly cat called Pradacwas our companion for the find.
Took Nothing, left a Penguin Keyring

My approach was very difficult and once I got to GZ I realised we had taken the wrong track in.
I had to go up and down that cliff face-it was a good work out.

A nice wee place for a nice wee walk,,cheers and many thanks, you guys do a good job with all these caches,,,
Well, we saw the signs warning of danger also. Looks like there are permanent!
Well, we also found a way to the cache. And watched mother duck and her 9 very new ducklings. Father duck was banished to the next lower pond!

As noted in October 2005 and again in November 2006 the warning signs have been there for a long time and you can safely get to the cache without going through these signs - just think carefully and you will find a satisfactory path that will take you around the weir - yes there is a weir!!
there is a council warning in this area.
this area is closed due to fulling rocks.
saw the sign a couple of days ago. when i was in the area.

Good spot. Good name. A fun easy one for us learners.
No longer a 'Marmite' container but a small tube.
Had only a baloon,pencil & Log.
TNLNSL.
Our 2nd only cache. (But I think we have got the bug.)
Thanks Sallies.
Off now to do more.

Easy find thanks. Well hasn't this whole area developed considerably over the years. The urban sprawl continues. Didn't take any notice of the signs. Nice area.
A nice easy find after spending an age looking for wp1 (without joy) of Aitkens Amble nearby. Cheers Sallies.
There was no weir nearby but now I know what is a cabbage tree which was not the coronation. I found the cache together with willma and we say Thanks to sallies for it.

No problem finding it except some kids who tore up the hill out of sight. Took sweet-neghbour-Julia and the Daft Spaniel. Took nothing, left nothing. Thanks, Mark.
Checked cache this afternoon and added new log pages. Note that you can access this cache safely without disobeying the temporary signs - that have been there for a long time now!
Quick run down the hill for easy find, needs new log book.
Thanks

Wandered accross the wier and found the cache. Last of my 18 finds for the day. TNLN THanks.
Found with the A team from Alex.

Easy find thanks. Only noticed the closed reserve signs on the way out...too late by then of course
The GPS was giving us the run around, but we soon latched onto the cache. I misread the sign at the start of the track, which was indeed saying that the reserve was closed. Reading how the last person reached the cache, we decided to use the approach as our exit. TNLN
We sat beside the sign that said the reseve was closed, parked within 75mtrs, an easy walk. TNLN
thanks
thanks
Hubby said we have time for another today before going home. Chose the most difficult access route down a slippery hill and was regreting that decision. Once on the track found cache quickly and made an effort to hide it a bit better. No way was I climbing that hill again. TNLN
