Out and about caching with Cheezel and WayneAPN while on a trip to the Riverland.Cache found and log stamped

07-Oct-24
The 3 Stooges are at it again. Out on the long weekend hunting caches. We wanted to head north for some high T caches that required a 4WD, but it didn't quite work out, so an alternative plan was hatched. The Riverland.Aimed for some High Terrain caches and caches that have been unloved for some time, years in fact, and with very few finders. Some were quite tricky to solve and took a bit of head scratching and a few other body parts.Plus, some others of interest along the way.Always great trips away with heaps of banter, dad jokes, tons of crap talk, but best of all, the camaraderie, and home made cake. All caches found and stamped. If some caches required maintenance, this was done. Thanks to all the COs for hiding and publishing these caches. Made for an adventurous weekendTFTC SL

The original plan was to head to the Argadells north of Port Augusta but the logistics simply didnt work out for us.So its Plan B, the Riverland So here we are, The 3 Stooges, WayneAPN (or as we call him That Numbers Guy), weredunn4 ( Mr Adventure) and myself are hitting the Riverland for some targeted high T caches, plus many many others along the way.Suffice to say, these are always great trips away with heaps of banter, dad jokes, tons of crap talk, but best of all, the camaraderieAll caches found and stamped. Any caches needing maintenance, we did our best to restore them to good health whether that be an additional log or new container. Thanks to all the COs for the caches we found this weekend, without you we dont have this game TFTC

Staying with family in Swan Reach for the weekend. I ducked out early in the morning to grab a few caches in Blanchtown. Being an oldie, this cache was the main target of the morning. Found without problems. All good here. Thank you 'scargoes, for placing Roonka Swaps for the geocaching community.# # SmileSmile #15321 SmileSmile # #

I obviously hadn't done my homework properly as I didn't expect to arrive in Morgan as early as I did. However, this enabled me to do a lot more caching, and this was one of the ones that I found but hadn't expected to get to until tomorrow. These were all found quickly thanks to great coordinates. Stamped as PUZZLDTeam consists of Ronice88, Weirdobiker, Contesta, DeJavu, Search 4, Kbucky & myself Bounty Trackers. On a 5day (maybe more) caching expedition with On Ya Bike series as the main objective then on to the Paddle steamer series we are all staying in Nildotte for 3 nights then moving up to Loxton for another 2 nights. With events at either end. And hopefully a few caches placed before 2010 will also be on our hit list. Lots of fun & laughs had along the way and lots of car doors opened & closed. Thanks for placing and maintaining the series.

An epic and memorable trip with new friends - Ronice88, Weirdobiker, de ja vu, Bounty Trackers, Contesta and Search4 - signed as PUZZLD. Thankfully a cooler day as we explore another area here while completing the main aim of our trip - OYB Series. Thanks to scargoes for your many cachesRegardskbucky

Hip hip hooray for SCOUTS! How fabulous and mind boggling is the monumental scale of geoart in SA. On a multi project in the true sense of the word far from home base which is at higher altitude. The project idea to embark on the OYB series with a group of likeminded geobuddies AKA PUZZLD had its mad genesis a few months ago and of course theres plenty more along with this. Travelling with contesta, kbucky, dj vu, search4, bounty trackers and weirdo biker over a few days mixing and matching skills with good humour and camaraderie. Thanks a zillion to the COs for the variety of caches and challenges. Im imagining a recovery session after this epic exhausting marathon to say nothing of Collingwood winning the 2023 AFL Premiership GO PIES!

Another enjoyable day exploring around the Murray and grabbing great caches and geoart caches before the heat of the day.We had a great day searching and signing logbooks with our Pzzld group friends. Thanks for the cache.

We are in SA with a group of like minded people to do the On Your Bike series as team Puzzld which consists of myself, Ronice88, contesta, de ja vu, search4, kbucky and Bounty Trackers. Lots of caching fun over the next few days. We are picking up a lot of other caches along the way, this being one of them

Find # 10347Day 4 caching friends to complete our epic On Your Bike series adventure. Picking up some counties, oldies, and other specials along the route to add to my tally and to stretch the legs. This was a quick and easy find and here as PUZZLD! at Roonka Swaps today with Ronice88, kbucky, De Ja Vu, Bounty Trackers, Search4, and weirdobiker. Thanks so much for the many caches 'scargoes and of course for giving me a reason and incentive to get out here, and to experience this part of the world in a different light

This was as far as I got on my Roonka trip as the scout area itself required you to check in. A quick find here, and there appears to be quite a selection of badges here for swapping, but I didn’t open the bag. Nice log book too. It’s a bonus to find such an old cache here. I wonder how close the recent flooding reached. Thanks scargoes for keeping it going.

Southern Autumn adventure Day 21. Blackwood SA trip Day 2. Now that I am caching by myself, I can work to the goals I have. This means that for the rest of April and most of May there are not too many days I need lots of caches. With that in mind, I went out onto the Murraylands road to visit some of the Riddlers Roonka Rampage caches and th Ode trads in between. It was a relaxing morning that ended up with morning tea and a quiet afternoon.

This cache was a short distance from the main road, but a nice detour. I even passed someone running along this dry back road.

Thanks for the cache 'scargoes

RoamingHowie and OzHockeyChick’s Epic Road Trip - Day Thirteen: Heading south.
Looking for some cooler weather, we’ve decided to head towards the coast, choosing specific caches to help with challenges along the way.

Finally, after 3 days staying at this lovely campsite (apart from the early morning cocky screeches), we finally stopped to find this nice-sized cache.

Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, 'scargoes

We're offline until we can return the cache, it got a little wet being lower than the roadway...

We had some surprisingly big rains and the cache got a little damp in its location, so it's with us at the camp right now,.

If your passing by and want to sign the log just drop into the Camp Hosts Cottage (aka Wardens Cottage or "Leicester Lodge") until tomorrow.

We'll also try to rescue other local Geocaches before the River rises too much more

#19786. Day 6 of our holiday and today Robmc, the geo-doggies and I are leaving Renmark and making our way to Tanunda for a week. Started with some caches in Berri and picked up a few more along the way.

Came out here today specifically to collect this cache. The log book is in amazingly good condition for such an old cache.

Traveling between the Riverland and the Barossa with BettyBoo3747 and the geodoggies.
A little bit of a convoluted route picking up a few unfinished caches and ones needed for challenges.
This cache had the right collection of attributes for a challenge for BB, so we detoured to it today.
It is in very good condition for its age.
Thanks, Robmc.

Today I headed out for a day of caching around Blanchetown. I didn’t believe Mrs Google when she said it was going to be 26 degrees. I am not sure it was that wallet but it was quite a contrast to previous days.
Was happy to come away with around 50 finds and only a few dnf.
I mainly focused on the Ronka JLWE series the puzzles were all found in great condition but unfortunately the trads were a little worse for wear, alas I didn’t have any ‘large’ containers to replace with. Was good to finally get this series ticked off.
There were a lot of sleepy lizards out and dragon flies obviously as confused as me with the change in temperature.
Enjoyed a nice picnic down by the river and even managed to fit in some cache maintenance on the way home.
My thanks to all the CO for their awesome efforts.
This one took some searching but eventually found the lidless container, got down on my hands and knees and located the lid reassembled and put back where I found it. Used to love guide camp when I was a kid TFTC!

Okay, so daylight is beginning to fade, time to turn for home. [^] May as well stop for a couple more. Wink

The spare seat in Davidwazza’s kayak to get to the event near here today was too good an opportunity to pass up, especially as it provided an opportunity to get some of the more difficult D/T combinations added to the fizzy grid.
This one was found after we had finished paddling before heading for home.

A big day out kayaking around Blanchetown with the paddling crew, and later from Roonka with GeckoJ. Although kayaking geocaches are normally high D/T anyway, we were targeting a few caches that GeckoJ needed for his D/T grid, of which he managed to fill in two for the day. A great winter day out actually, and the inflatable kayak did us well.

Initially had some trouble here trying to locate this regular sized cache. However eventually we searched around long enough to find it. Nicely made indeed, thanks 'scargoes!

After a good nights sleep, lukie1987 and I decided on a bit of a numbers run as we gradually headed towards Adelaide after our road trip from Melbourne to Alice Springs and back was coming to an end. After finishing up the TdF series, we decided to make our way towards Swan Reach where we would camp for the night.

Actually after another nearby cache, but not quite sure how to get there. Anyway, another time. T rating not quite right, but anyway, love to get the older caches.

Many thanks to 'scargoes for the cache. TNLN.
