Great walk up here once you pass the steep bit at the start. Thanks for bringing us here.
Seems like the cache was muggled, possibly when part of the tree was cut. I have replaced a few meters away and it is good to go again!
Coordinates changed from:S 37 43.863 E 145 28.586Coordinates changed to:S 37 43.864 E 145 28.590Distance from original: 20.3 feet or 6.2 meters.Moved a few meters away so hopefully it won't get muggled.
No luck here despite a very systematic search at and all around GZ within 20 metres. There is really only one logical beacon and that has a spray painted yellow circle tag on it, which means forest workers have been carrying out inspections. Ill put on my watch list and return for another day of hiking in this lovely reserve if there are any positive signs of life.
Disappointed with the last DNF but certainly not with this meander... especially along the main trek, it was very pleasant...trying to find the side track to make my way to GZ was a failure. So up I climbed freestyling as I went...I could her piano music from a disance but as I neared closer I could here work man up at the tower. They were scailing it doing maintenance. so l had to sneak up to search for the cache...then i had to act like I was looking for mushrooms. Then after a few geo circles I returned to were my instincts 1st told me to search and after some proding with the hiking pole I heard the sound of plastic through the soil...log was Damp but writable.Another Golden oldie found.
Tower of Cirith Ungol (LR11) was transferred from Cache Guardians to user Henjitsu

We went the shorter but probably steeper direct way to the cache. It was a nice quick find in the logical spot. It was very very moist but luckily the log was double bagged and in decent condition. Tftc
Access is still ok after the storm, just a few trees over the road. Had a look for the cache, but there's nothing to go on in terms of clues and the GPS drifts because of the tower signal and trees.
Cache on good nick
Out for a hike today over the long weekend, in our 25km limit. Not many places to go as wild storms hit the region of the Yarra Ranges on Thursday last week and not safe to be walking in the hills (where we live)... we are all good though.
So l had been a Warramate with the kids a few years back fining caches but never made it to the tower. So that was the goal today.
A nice quiet walk (only a few cars in the carpark), not like other places we've been to where everyone else is...
Walk to tower fairly easy, straight upa hill on a track that looked more like a deer/kangaroo path as footprints everywhere... Found the main track and found the tower (not much of a view) but a good spot for lunch with the sounds of the towers generator.. pretty much the whole Ranges have no power...
The walk back (on another small track) was a challenge.. trees down pretty much all over the track.. we wouldn't have gone this way if we'd known but was too late (and too far to turn back) but the gully was where all the damage from the storms...
We tackled our way over, under and around trees.. didn't help that it started to drizzle (even with a clear sky) and made the ground and trees/and debris all over the ground wet and slipperly.
Found another side track and prayed this one would not be damaged and our prayers were answered as we were lead away from the gully and mess to a clear track.. slipperly but breathed a sigh of relief when we reached the main track at the bottom where it lead back to our car and off to the shops for a much needed coffee.

the date was organised: a trip to an art gallery and then a hike
something for everyone
the art gallery is the best visited so far this year, if still underwhelming
haunting distorted glassware, washed-out fabrics of green-blue seaweed, a collection of ceramic pins
but why come to worship at a temple to the glory of nature
when you could just go and
be in nature
so after visiting this reserve a few years ago now, it was great to remake the pilgrimage
this is now the sixth lord of the rings cache found
only an easy fourteen to go

Thank you nutcache and your son. Talk the walk up from the lower gate was a big challenge for me. Pity there's no lookout tower up here, I expect the view would be marvellous. Maybe I'll come back with a drone when I get my breath back. Regards from Victor
The first big adventure since second lockdown with day1976. This area is at the top of our joined 25km zones, and I knew it wouldn't be super busy! My partner came along for the hike to get out of the house.
Certainly a hike to the top here.
Certainly a hike to the top here.
Mammoth effort for wooly creatures, dried the insides and cleaned the seal. TB drop.
First cache with the geo-hubby now that we’re all out of isolation. We broke a 14 week dry spell!!! It was a bit of an ‘I think I can I know I can’ slog up the hill but good to feel the lungs working after so much time inside.
Saw a falcon up here the other day, watching us carefully. Thus, left a falcon card and a trinket emu- like the ones on the trail nearby.
Happy caching everybody- so glad to be back!!
For all visitors to warramate, please keep an eye out at all times for any illegal wildlife traps. Recent news showed a disgusting individual set a trap to torture a wombat. This individual has not yet been found and charged. The friends of warramate group suggest there may be more traps in this parkland. Please contact authorities immediately if you see anything out of the ordinary.

A nice walk up to the top on a truly stunning day. Unfortunately not much of a view at the top, but some lovely views on the walk up!
A bit of a tough slog up the first bit of the hill, but definitely worth it for this cache at the top. Tftc
I was going to write a lovely log about the awesome day, the adventure, the fun with great friends, the amazing views, including how we got here, but after Sunday’s debacle on social media...

This reserve has been on my list for years. Many a time glancing over the map this area was mostly void of caches, but now an epic puzzle series and trads where in play. A great series with a mixture of terrian both on and off track. With all puzzles solved sometime back between myself and ahomburg it was just a matter of when. Well finally today it was. A total of 6 hours was spent meandering around the park and upto the trig point and back. All caches found, some with very effective camo that made the discovery take longer then expected. Big thanks to the CO for showing me around this impressive flora and fauna reseve with ahomburg today. Total of about 16km and over 25,000 steps according to fitbit. Good stuff. [^]
Good climb up heading straight up an unused 4x4 track for the last 180m. A noisy tower once at GZ.

After having finally having made my way through the WW puzzles with confirmed coordinates for all, finally my caching partner in crime sedgwickDave and I finally had a free day to hit the hills of Warramate and more. We had a big day with over 15km of walking and over 600m of vertical ascent, we certainly worked hard for our terrain stars. The weather was mainly pretty good, overcast with the sun occasionally showing itself and also a couple of very quick showers. It was a great day.
Making our way towards the car now, but still a ways to go, A quick stop here to find this one.
Many thanks to Nutcache & Son for the cache. TNLN.

Night of caching with Gunks. After finishing the WW series, Gunks kindly agreed to join me on the extra 5km to find two more that he had already found. When the hills got steeper he hardly even complained much. Found pretty quickly. TFTC.
Tower of Cirith Ungol (LR11) was transferred from day1976 to user Cache Guardians
Cache maintenance check : New Pen added and now double ziplock bagged. Cache hidden well and in perfect condition to be found. 88andy88
Again continuing along the trails with 88andy88 doing his maintenance run and still cursing him for dragging me up this super steep hill. Views are fantastic and this was a lot easier territory than the last stretch.

18/6/17 2:37 pm #2386 This was a great easy walk compared to the last stretch with RoxyP still belting me over the shortcut and steepness. Lol.
I loved this area and the GZ was interesting too.
Thanks for the adventure.

Well there was once a fire Tower up here some where, have not been up here for 40 odd years still as steep and I remember it. Left a Trackable to watch the stars. Will do the trig point next time ran out of daylight.
I visited this area a week ago but immediately regretted not having allowed myself enough time to have a look at this trek and *Mate Steel a View* beyond. Caches on lonely hilltops seem to have become my new favourite variety of trad. So I made a return visit on a day on which I had already committed myself to coming at least as far north as Silvan Reservoir for a night-cache at day's end.
I initially considered using the more westerly of the recommended entry points, but a safe parking space didn't reveal itself on the way through. So I returned to the familiar official reserve entrance and traveled some of the same westward tracks I became acquainted with a week before. It's true, they do get kinda steep. I didn't notice a whole lot of muscle fatigue on the steepest stretch but the airways eventually expressed their displeasure. A somewhat unfamiliar type of discomfort that was thankfully eased by drinking. It was raining lightly for much of the ascent, so the moist grassy track slipped away under foot a few times. I was grateful for the less steep gravel road that led me the remainder of the way to the Telstra facility. I recall not having to use GPS in the final few hundred metres. I managed to guess the cache's location as I passed by on the track. Thanks Nutcache!

##Log Part 1##
This cache nearly broke me. It was tougher than anything I had attempted before. I had to dig deep to push through the pain and not give in.
The challenge started after finding *WW The Confluence* at the Yarra River below. I had planned to complete the WW series and then make a decision on whether to go for this cache. I knew it was going to be tough having struggled up *Where's Warran Mate?* [last year](https://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=78f7663f-bf56-445e-bdfb-76a86b2bdca0).
But what was I going to do? It was 2pm on a Sunday and I was on my own today. The geomissus was never going to join me on another hill climb here so I took the opportunity to grab this cache. (Pic 1)
The climb started easy enough, finding a vehicle track and working my way up that. I figured such a track would perhaps be longer, but with less gradient. I was wrong. I was soon presented with a very steep track (Pic 2). This was very hard going. I would walk 20 steps then have to stop. I started thinking *if I called 000, would they be able to air lift me out of this location?*. I could just descend and say *I tried my best* but that isn't me. I might not be particularly fit but I like to think I have a high degree of resilience. Say what you want about Lance Armstrong but at times like this I dig up one of the best motivational quotes ever said:
>Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever.
There was no way I was going to give in. I had to push myself. It took a while but I made it past the steepest part of the track and took a breather (Pic 3), only to realise I was still almost 1km from GZ! (Pic 4)... that that's if I could fly, which unfortunately I can not do. I proceeded on.
The journey continued across slightly easier terrain, but still taking lots of breaks to settle my legs. My heart was pumping so hard I could hear it. Waves of self doubt flowed through my mind, but I wasn't going to give in without a real fight.
Eventually I reached the base of the knoll that the tower sits on and needed to make a decision. Do I go for it? or have I got the time and energy to grab *Mate Steel A View* ([GC21JZR](http://coord.info/GC21JZR)) nearby? I went for the other cache knowing that *quitting will last forever*.

##Log Part 2##
Fast forward 40 minutes I am back at the location ready to take the final steps up to the tower. The zig-zag tracks looked intimidating on the map but it was easier to just head straight up. The diesal generator was faint at first, then louder, LOUDER and finally I could see the tower structure. I was there!! I thought I heard voices of other people but the place was deserted.
The cache was quickly found and am pleased to say it is no longer on the *unloved list* any more. (Pic 5). I had been carrying around a monkey face biscuit all day and was finally able to treat myself to it (Pic 6). In less than a minute it had evapourated.
Now all I had to do was get down. Descending through the mountain bike tracks was tricky. They were uneven and narrow, and my legs were aching. I got down to the main track and as I was walking to the car my legs nearly seized up with cramps all up and down. I had *just* made it. Mission Complete. Time to head home with a huge grin from ear to ear covering my face.
##Coda##
As I drove away and saw glimpses of the hill with cloud rolling in, I had the music cranked up in the car. *Landslide* by Fleetwood Mac came up on the play list and I was smiling thinking this is such a great song. Then spontaneously I burst in to tears. *Get a hold of yourself young man!* I tried to convince myself, but it was futile. The adrenaline and lactic acid had worn off and for a moment I was a blubbering mess. This cache pushed me harder than any other cache done to date, and probably ever will. There have been days I have walked further, there have been caches with higher terrain, there have been many days where I found more geocaches, and undoubtedly there will be many more. This however will be remembered for being very difficult for me. It was **tough**.
Earlier I stood at the foot of the hill contemplating the challenge ahead. Skinny unfit Paul verses the mighty steep Warramate Hills in front of me. Today I was stronger than those hills and beat them, and serves as a reminder to *never, EVER give up*.

Spiffy- and I were in the park for other caches. Even though this was another 1km further we had already done the climb and our legs hurt so much we didint want to come back so invested some more sweat. A 10km round trip with nice tired legs at the end and grateful to be in an air conditioned car. At GZ we made a quick find and were on our way. Nutcache & son for the cache. Worthy of a favorite for area it brought us to.
Today I was heading out with Fleabag- again for a bit of hill climbing and bush walking since the weather was perfect for it. Yay, spring has arrived. We spent a few hours, did a lot of hill climbing, bush bashing and found a whole 5 caches for the afternoon but it was really good exercise.
We continued out walk through the park and then a short steep climb to get to this one. While I was resting and catching my breath, the younger and fitter Fleabag- made the find.
When I was 10m from the Telstra Tower I still only had 4 out of 5 bars of signal. Must have been too close.
Thanks Nutcache for the cache, the hunt and the walk.

I was intending on staying home today and doing some work but then I was conversing with Day1976 via BookFace and a plan was hatched to grab a couple of caches whilst going for a walk. Where better to go than Warrenmate Hills Flora and Fauna Reserve.
Headed up the hill from the GZ of a nearby puzzle following a track that looks like it may go in roughly the correct direction hoping we weren't following a wild goose. As we wound our way around, up and down, we eventually smiled with success as we found the main track that we had hoped to meet up with. The climb was pretty straight forward from there and we arrived at the GZ in no time. Signed the log, had a bite and enjoyed what view we could spy through the tree cover and then it was time to move on.
Thanks for placing this cache Nutcache

Came to this one directly from Camouflaged Micro in the Bush. Would not recommend this approach. Tftc
I can see the Warramate Hills from my lounge windows and it has been calling me since I started caching last year. Today was the perfect weather for the assault, so off I went GPS in hand. Parked at the gate on Yarra Loch Way and headed off down the track. Fairly soon was decision time, stay on the main track around the base of Briarty Hill or head up a slightly smaller track. I took the smaller track and headed uphill across some open grass land, a nice walk with spectacular views towards Launching Place and Toolebewong. At the top of this grassy knoll, I headed into light bush with lots of deer trails. Ducking and weaving was the go here until I came again to the proper track which took me to the top of Briarty Hill and the telecom tower. GPS led me astray for a little while but came good and I found the cache. Thanks Nutcache.
Out on a morning hike for 2hrs with poptoppete and tigerAd. Found the mystery cache and one traditional. Will hike back up another day to collect the third cache in this area. Tftc. What a beautiful little spot.
Morning walk with GUNKS and TIGER-AD.
Fantastic views on the way up, once I'd recovered from climbing the hill.
Gunks was busy checking out some of the mountain bike tracks on the walk down, not sure if I should be worried about that....

Found with the Bushrangers Womens Walking Club, Legweak, Bingami and Mincka. Great walk up, and the views are speccy. TFTC
While in the area I thought I would take the opportunity. Interesting fact: tower uses 1000ltrs diesel a fortnight.
A nice quick find this afternoon after parking way down the mountain and walking up to do the 3 caches up this way that have been on my radar for some time. I thought I was the only one up here this afternoon but on the way to this one I came across a park ranger doing a patrol. Followed the ridge line and made a quick grab. Great views Nutcache. TFTC. Fave given.
Beautiful location. Loved the serenity. No views today. In fact visibility was quite limited due to low cloud and swirling mists. Very pretty. Steep climb that got is warm on this cold day. Enjoyed doing this cache. Thank you for placing
found this after the long walk up, no view due to low clouds avaloncass found this one cool day but very warm from the walk
Today was the day that appeared to be the best to try and get as many different combinations of Difficulty and Terrain as practical. While I had already achieved 25 I wasn't keeping up with how many of those were for Premium Members, and so MVMB could also be sure of getting 25 we planned on going for a night hike. Parked at the suggested parking spot, and I was surprised by the number of houses above us as we walked in the first kilometer. There was enough light from the city that most of the time we could leave our head lights off. Then the bush closed in, and on they came. Just one small tree over the track, so obviously the locals don't use it too often.
When we got up to the first gate I had just turned my headlight off when there appeared to be some action going on to the 'south' in the bush. Interesting.
Kept on going and soon found the noisy GZ.

Parked at the co-ordinates and wondered in. Left the well made path for some other bushwalking/horse riding tracks. There are quite a number of these that criss-cross this reserve and I followed them as best as I could. Trouble was that I chose one that got smaller and smaller until it was no more than an old over-grown access road that had obviously been used to build what was now quite a dilapidated old fence. In the end it was a bit of bush-bashing that helped me find the well made track again. Followed it around and up to find the cache. As expected cache was not in very good condition, but the replacement log book was holding up quite well. I replaced the cache with a new clip-top container in the same spot. I transferred the log book to the new cache and added some new swaps too as the old ones were looking a little worse for wear. Cache is all good to go again! Thanks for the walk nutcache.
Can someone replace the container? It's about 1.5 - 2.0 L sistema.

We assumed that this cache was in good condition according to the logs, but it still has a cracked lid.
If we had known we would have bought along a replacement.
We also noted the clip detached so we repaired it.
The cache has been placed upside down in the hope it will stay a bit drier as well.
Cirith Ungol passed through the western mountains of Mordor and paralleled the Morgul-road into Gondor to some degree. It was guarded by the Tower of Cirith Ungol, which was built by the Men of Gondor after the War of the Last Alliance of Elves and Men was fought. It is not known whether the pass and the tower were called Cirith Ungol when the Men of Gondor held it, though it is likely since Shelob "...was there before Sauron, and before the first stone of Barad-dûr" was laid, and Cirith Ungol meant 'Spider's Cleft' in Sindarin.
The pass was reached by several sets of steep stairs leading from close by Minas Morgul along the north cliff-face of Morgul Vale and through a tunnel high in the mountains, with other steep stretches that lacked stairs. Eventually, the path ran straight into Shelob's lair, though many side-tunnels had been carved by Orcs and Men to get past her webs.

This was the second find on a terrific walk with Philipp. Cache in good condition, great location.
Found it. Actually found on a walk back on 26-1-12 but cache was disabled so I didnt log my visit.
A great place for a walk all bet a long and steep one. Came back today to get the cache further along the trail as last time I ran out of time. Just loved the peace and quite. Thanks

I was planing to do the lord of the rings series and Was up here exploring the area, and was aware this one needed maintenance but I wasn't goin to come back here again, so I dried out the cache took out the wet moldy stuff and placed a new log book in a new ziplock bag,..signed the log with mtpmacca... container still has split in lid but hopefully this will do it for a while longer.

found today on a nice walk up to the trig point. Contents are completely ruined, everything is drenched and black with mould. I didn't read logs before visit or else i could have taken a fresh container.
Climbed the straight stair and the twisted stair under the baeful gaze of the witch king of Angmar. Reaching the tower Kmace and I found the precious with little difficulty. Unfourunatly some clumsy Urak-hai put a rock down too hard on it and cracked the case, spoiling the contents. Took a car and left a denizen from The Path of the Dead to curse all thouse who would muggle and interfere with a cache. Had a snack of fruit and popcorn (no cram or lembas) and returned before Saruman could thwort us with a tempest.
Found with Irontoad today. The cache container had a cracked lid and there was water in the cache which was tipped out. The log was saturated and couldn't be written in. Took car and left skeleton (we thought he would enjoy the wetness of the cache).
Thanks for the amazing climb up here. The birdlife was incredible along the way. Nutcache and Son.

While browsing Google Earth (with geocaches shown) discovered Warramate Hills Reserve - I'd never heard of it before; but it looked promising for a day walk sometime. Well that time came today. Very pleased to have made the effort to walk up here - very impressive tower up here but smell of diesel fumes and generator noise put us off having lunch here. Found at 12:55. But could not sign the Log - it was saturated, as were the contents. 'Fraid this one needs maintenance.

Perfect day for a decent accent despite some serious hay-fever! Was good to finally get some 3G at GZ, was able to post some video to my caching mate in England. Cache when found was placed upside down and contents were wet. I dried them out in the sun for half an hour and then realised that it had been placed upside down as the lid is cracked. I'm afraid some of the trinkets are beyond repair. Left a pen as the moisture had ruined the one there. Might need a bit of maintenance, I too left cache upside down to minimise moisture.

Found at 4.30pm on a chilly winters arvo. My walking partner piked out 3/4 of the way up (the hills are knee testers).
The cache was damp from the crack noted by EuDes last year.

Really enjoyed this one. Moderate short walk and an easy find once I got their. Noted that the Department of Scorched Earth had been their and admitting their surprise at avoiding burning, so should be their for quite a while.

I warned you that I would be back.
Found at 1055 hours, after a nice long walk to GZ.
I must say the walk was well worth it, the views on the way to this cache are great.
When I finally arrived at GZ, it was a easy find.
Didn't even use the hint, that's right there was no hint to use anyway.Hehe.

Came here today to log this, but the DSE & Parks decided to do some control burning.
I will return another day.
I will return another day.
I was up walking in this reserve with some 30 others today, and had to divert the walk so that everyone could see the tower
We went via the other peak (for lunch), and being a bit faster walker, I had found and logged the cache before anyone else got there.
Lovely park.
Thanks, Robmc.

As per my log on Meeting of the Waters, I had printed this off three years ago and finally got here. A lovely winters day and I came the long way round via the other cache and found it to be a very good way with lots of views and an easy track albeit a little steep, but I was after exercise.
At gz the cache was an easy find and thanks again to the firies who left it where it was last year. Thanks also to Nutcache and son for bringing me here. I have actually wanted to come here long before caching.

Found at 1:50pm with Eudes and WC. Another detour from our bushwalk and another hill - but a quick find when we got there! Nice area for a walk, even if the heart rate did accelerate a bit.

This was third on our bushwalk around this beautiful area. Although it was a bit off (not to mention "above" ) the scheduled route, we knew that we had to nab it as we were so close. We were even able to "conscript" one of the other walkers to join us and once at GZ, we found the stash quite easily at 13:50.
There is quite a long crack in the lid so we left the container upside down, which should reduce the likelihood of water getting in and allowing it to drain if it does.
TNLNSL. Thanks for bringing us to this special place and the cache Nutcache & Son.

A fantastic cache in a great location! Found after worrying that the fire may have taken it out before we got there but looks like it was done last year! A brilliant walk and well worth the trip to take a left at the track junction below gz to travel to the trip point for fantastic views! Cheers. TNLN
Just a quick thing i remembered, the cache container has a break in its lid and is letting in some water. Prehaps the next person up there could take one. We would have but didn't have any on us. Cheers
What a walk!!!! I started from the main gate, it took about 1hr 40min to reach the destination. I thought of aborting the mission a few times, but LuckDogsCrew's log kept me going. But well worth it!!
The last finder "daig" was dated 13-Oct-2007, but found the following message in the logbook:
18/10/2008: Found by DSE fire fighters doing a fuel reduction burn. Lucky we didn't burn this, left you some reading material on the area.
Out: Chile - March of the Penguins Travel Bug #1
Great cache, thank you!!!

While luck dog stayed in the car and the other member of the crew headed for meeting of the waters I headed towards this one, Slightly overestimating my ability, I confidently said I would be back at the car before you. Mmmm 1.8km up hill Vs 1.5km along the flat. Well it was a bit of an effort, as the phone call come in saying"Im back at the car where are you?" Had to confess I was just reaching GZ and looking for the cache.
Found the cache easy enough, But was amased by the large pile of Bear Bottles Just waiting to start a nice bush fire. (Now is that a telstra tower!!) Then it was a quick 15mins run back to the car.
Great cache, Really enjoyed the walk. You can do the meeting of the waters and this cache together with a little longer walk but its a great walk. If people want to do this, Park at the alternative parking area, head for meeting of the waters, and then take the track towards this cache.
Thanks

I have wanted to do this cache for some time and I had some time and was nearby so away I went. Decided to go in the long way as I need the exercise. On the way there and back, spotted 1 wallaby, 2 echidnas and about 7 Kangaroos.
Got to near the cache and found that there was someone who had driven up to service some of the equipment was parked within about 5m of GZ. So went down and had a careful look at the mine, and then headed back up to the top. Servicemuggle was still there so said hello and had a bit of a chat. He went back into the building and I had a quick look for the cache. Found without trouble and was able to enter the log. Was just returning the cache when servicemuggle came back out to the car, was able to grope in my pack as though I was looking for something and was then able to conceal the cache correctly when he went back inside.
Was just about to head back to the car when I spotted a pair of sunglasses on the ground. Muzza I have your sunnies!

I thought I'd take the shortest, quickest route in today. It was a beautiful sunny day, but the air was not too warm at this stage - perfect conditions for an uphill walk. It was an enjoyable walk up and good exercise. It really gave the heart, lungs and legs a bit of work to do.
I was lucky with the Satellite Gods on this one and was led straight to the cache as soon as I arrived. I didn't make a swap, although I realised when I got back to the car that I'd left my sunglasses there. So, a hint for the next finders. If you spot some sunnies, the cache is close by.
Thanks for the cache, and for a very enjoyable, invigourating walk through some beautiful bush.

Found by Mary & David at 1650. Fairly steep indeed, but enjoyed the scenery and the sounds of many and varied birds. A strange humming heralded arrival at GZ. Once the GPSr had finished having fun and settled down the cache was quickly found. Took numbering stamp, left a Minolta purse and a karma card. Our thanks to Nutcache and Son.
Found at 11:45am. The first of six caches on our caching tour of Warburton Part III. Jeepers Creepers, what a way to start the caching day. We have surely done enough Nutcache caches to expect this sort of expedition but boy howdy. We followed the shortest route as per the instructions (cow track = very many cow pats) and the long ascent. An easy find and another hill conquered. The trip back strangely enough took only half the time, but we both copped a fresh cow pat near the bottom of the hill.
Thanks Nutcache from D&S B-A. Left Number Stamp, took Scooby Doo Torch.

On a weekend away with Biggles Bear we set our sites on this cache as it was just so close to where we were tasting wines at Warramate. We tried two or different approaches by vehicle, but in the end we resorted to the recommended route. It was quite a tough walk up the hill, but we were quickly rewarded with a find as soon as we got to the top.

Phew! That's a hell of a walk - 2/3rds of it through trackless bush. I didn't try the alternate way in but maybe that's better. "Meeting of the Waters" was originally going to be up here, but I liked the spot it ended up and couldn't be bothered climbing the hill then. Anyway it's a peaceful spot, and an interesting walk. Not many people would know about this park, and now it has 2 caches! Took the Blackjack TB, and left Spot the Dog TB. Thanks Nutcache.
Didn't take the shortest way in but the view going up was worth the long route. It's been some years since I have been up here. The first time I came I rode my bike from a few towns away and latter on a number of occasions took the drive by approach with friends on business of the community radio kind. The view off the old fire tower used to be great - you could see to melbourne and the bay and on a good day to geelong![8d]. Then along came vodafone and "Oh yeah"...[:(!]
