Lots of looking around. Finally spotted it even though gps was a nightmareThanks for the cache
Doing the circuit walk, got to this cache too. Im glad there a few benches which I ended up resting on for a bit.
*Out With SueHut Adventure #8*Hello! We found a friend! Thanks heaps for the cache, Crack'n'LeeLee!
One the walking trail around the area for a few caches and this was the next one. Was starting to understand why it's named Steep Long (or Long Steep) although I was only going downhill at this stage. Anyway all was good and the was found without any issue and I was off towards the next one. Thanks for this one Riddell...cache all good
GPS had me wondering about trying to find this cache. how I managed to stay upright along the bottom trail to this cache...it was a miracle.
After a bit of a search I found it! It didn't match the hint though where I found it so not sure if that is a old or new hint.. but other then that found the cache thankyou, the lid has a tiny crack in it..the log book is. Little damp but nothing to extreme, beautiful walk here.. the river is a bit high and over the path so be carefull

*Cache find # 13099.*
After a mornings work doing a bit of tree planting, I decided to head a little further North and target a couple of new multis as well as the Canopus Circuit.
Its a great little walk around this area with differing tracks with some steep up and down hill as well as the fairly flat along the creek walk.
This one isn't part of the series but it was in the loop.
I didn't realise at the time that this one is in the first Vic 500 so it was good to be able to cross this one off of the list
Some might say that the log book is full as the last pages are but there is a lot of space through out the book to be able to add your name.
**Thanks to ian-and-penny for placing this cache and Riddle for keeping it going.**

Nice enjoyable walk to gz. A track I wouldn't have known about if not for caching. Logbook filling up as ppl spread their logs out. Otherwise all good! Tftc
What a beautiful walk this was, such a hidden gem. Been out here a few times now and this area never seizes to thrill me with its beauty. Thanks for showcasing this area!
Such a beautiful walk that’s just 10mins from home - out for the day with mum.

Found 269/21 Nice camouflaged hide. We were out for a walk and didn’t have a pen to fill out the logbook and there is no pen inside. The lid is also cracked so unlikely to be waterproof for long.
Found this cache on a lovely sunny May Day but I had just lost my pen out of bag at the last cache and there wasn't a pen in there. Very nice and peaceful down here and theres even a bench to sit on.
Nice little cache here made a quick find. The lid has a crack in it. May need to replace. Altho the cammo may be protecting it from water damage . Tftc
A seat out here. In a very quiet park, on the smaller of the paths, a seat.
What would be the number of bottoms this seat has held before? I didn't stop, no time to stop when caching.
Beautiful spot here, can see why they chose it. Lush, green. Tranquil.
A place to come back to.

Today was a caching day for our grand-daughter Eden. She's been looking forward to a day out with us for some time so Grandpa Ian wore her (and Penny) out over the course of the morning doing the "Canopus Circuit" caches.
As this cache was also on our route - and as it is our first ever hide, we just had to visit this one as well for old times sake. All up we found 5 caches (plus this one) in our cache run. Thanks for looking after this cache for us.
The cache is in good condition, with just a small crack in the lid, and the log book still has some space left in it. (We replaced the cache with the cracked lid facing down). It's survived really well for the (nearly) 15 yers it has been here.

Not sure how this is said, But I can confirm STEEP, at 71 years old, I am feeling the pain of doing the caches in this park, but, Thanks anyway, Scubacrazy666, I deserve all I get, because I am a cacher
The seat came in handy and someone had done an awesome rock formation to add a little art work nearby
[:(!] Thanks for an awesome effort.

It's been a short while since I've been able to get out for an early morning walk so I planned to get up before the sun this morning and head out to Long Forest again after I enjoyed the first circuit. I packed my hiking bag and off I went. I left the car park with a tiny bit of daylight in front of me. I didn't realise this was an old timer cache so a nice bit of geocaching history here and some nice views. Signed and replaced as found

I had noticed this cache a few years ago but only got around to it today while doing the nearby Canopus Circuit series. I loved this walk to GZ where the cache was easily found.
I took my time at GZ reading the original logbook- that's a piece of Victorian geocaching history right there!
Thanks, ian-and-penny/Scubacrazy666.

With nothing planned for today, it was a quick look around to see what "walks" we could do. This one wasn't too far from home, and the plan was to walk Long Forest Loop and Canopus Circuit in one go. Parking at the Long Forest car park, the total walk was just over 13.5km, taking about 3hrs. Nothing too hard, and some nice scenery and some wildlife to be seen.
Always makes you wonder about the planning of putting a seat there. 'hmmm, we have an allocation of two seats for this walk - we should we put them'. Did see another one on Steep track, which seemed a more questionable spot though.

Whilst on a first to find hunt with Neville_devil, Audfox; and UltimateGeoCacheTeam on some new caches on the Canopus Circuit this little fella was between caches so just had to be found. UltimateGeoCacheTeam had already found this so he just watched on while the rest of us signed the log.
Thank you Scubacrazy666 for the cache in this beautiful area.

TFTC, 2beezs have recently returned home from a trip to the USA with 2 trackables that want to travel. This cache was located in lovely Australian bushland. See a photo of a local koala.

Parked at the start of Steep Track and followed it down to GZ. On the info board it says Steep track is graded as difficult. It was steep but not too bad. A nice walk done to Gz. I had been here a few years ago as a muggle bushwalker. Using the hint I sat down then preceeded to grab the cache. Then back up Long track which was a very pleasant walk back to the geo-mobile.
Thanks **Scrubacrazy666**

Well, this was almost a DNF but thankfully I got there in the end.
After a days work down the road I decided to grab a cache before heading for home and arrived at the parking spot just as a few drizzles hit the windscreen but not deterred off I headed in search of greatness.
I decided to take the Steep Long on the way there and so I would experience the Steel Long on the way back enjoying the best of both worlds, well that was the plan!!!
So I stopped just short of the junction where the two tracks meet up again and checked my phone to see how far away I was and instantly thought, bugger, I should have saved this one to offline but luckily I had one bar and 48% battery as I stood there with my tongue out and my arm twisted behind my left shoulder on top of that rock trying to get a better signal and ahhhhhhh, my phone went totally black Not knowing how far to go I headed down to the junction of Steep & Long Point Tracks continuing to shake and jiggle my phone.
I'm trying to decide what to do as the sun comes out and I can remember looking at the clue before I left the car and suddenly my phone comes back on with 10% battery remaining.
With 208 meters to go it's bugger the battery and start walking post haste with the compass leading the way. 150, 120, 80, 50 and down it goes until the clue starts making sense and finally the prize, a blank page in the log book
After a brief wander around this beautiful location I was concerned with the black clouds quickly coming over the ridge to the west so I headed to the Long Steep for the journey back to the GeoVehicle.
An exciting journey to take my mind of life's problems for a short time.
**Thanks for maintaining this cache Scubacrazy666**

Had a great walk. Went the long walk on the way down and steep on the way back. I didn't find the steep to bad. Only a small part was really steep. Can the next person please take a new pen. We couldn't write in the log but a friend lives nearby so I might go back one day
Found with georocks101. I thought I saw a scorpion but it was getting dark so I couldn't see properly but I removed the cache carefully anyway. We enjoyed the view for a bit and headed back before it got too dark. Only now have I read the previous logs and saw that a scorpion has been spotted before! Must always be careful! Tftc
Bush walking and caching, now that's a match made in heaven. Had a great walk here today, the wildlife was out in force. But it all ended to quickly, was at GZ before I knew it. As I lifted the cache container, a scorpion took off running !! Can't say I have ever seen one in the bush before !!! TFTC Scubacrazy666.
On a damp and gloomy Saturday, we took the Geo-grandkids out bush walking in search of this cache.
Along the way we saw many varieties of birds, and discovered many ant colonies had been attacked, possibly by echidnas, but the thing that stood out for us was the wallaby that stood in the middle of the trail watching us as we approached GZ.
At GZ the grandkids did a quick search and soon had the cache in hand.
Cache in good order, contents looking a little worse for wear, log book good and dry.
Thanks to Scubacrazy666 for this cache

A quick C@W Jasmer find has slowly morphed into a fun hike in the Long Forest, so I'm glad I grabbed a trekking pole on a whim. It's come in handy for those short pinches on the trail along the Pyrites Creek, both as a steadier and to brush aside the overgrowth on this seldom used track. Though the sun was struggling to peep through, the rain stayed away, and the temperature was perfect. I think I have the whole forest to myself this afternoon.
The cache was another nice easy find, in fine condition. Thanks, Ian and Penny, for the hide, and especially to Scubacrazy666 for keeping it in play. Now, where can I head next? Ah... Long, then Steep, and up the road to the Nanorial hide.

Well, its February already and a weekend, time to again get together with my caching partner in crime SedgwickDave. It looked like the weather was going to be perfect yet again so the plan was to head west towards Lerderderg State Park, picking up as many caches as possible along the way including many higher terrain caches then we were used to. We started bright and early due to the extra distance from home for this destination and the fact we needed to be back home by 6PM for me to play basketball.
It was quite a pleasant walk to this one, we decided to go steep on the way to GZ and then long on the way back, A good choice I think. GZ was a nice little spot and locating the cache was nice and quick.
Thanks to Ian and penny for the cache and of course Scubacrazy666 for maintaining it. TNLN.

Well is was the start of another caching month and this time I was super eager to get out caching and this time heading further west then before with the intention to tackle some bigger terrain caches. Today's run was focus on the Long Forest & Lerderderg state park where there were a number of quality caches found. As usual was on the trail with Ahomburg who was happy to start extra early to allow for the travel time. An epic run which ended with the insane "Acts of Cord - The Pinnacle", a cache I will never forget and the best gelati ever tasted afterwards. The self imposed 3 cache type rule also achieved with the total number of finds at 19 today.
Well on approach it was a flip of the coin as to which way to go, the coin said right so off we went and thankfully this was proven to be the best as the quickest way in with the longer taken on the way out later. An enjoyable walk to GZ which great us with a view and somewhere to sit. TFTC Scubacrazy666 & Ian-and-penny

Another walk in the Long Forest following my attempt at the Coimadai cache, this walk was shorter, I found it easiest to park outside the gates of 'Kimberley' and followed a goat track past their property. Check OSM for the right directions. The walk went by quickly and I found myself in a very pretty gully, cache is in good condition.
Great walk. However nice to find a box there. It was a bit hard to get the box out of the hiding place, but it was easy to find the spot. Wally the Walker out. TFTC.

Set out this morning a bit wet under toe but good for a walk in the bush saw a heap of butterfly's along the way. Found the cache sign the log and were on the way back to the car so we did the circuit walk nice that time of the morning saw a wallaby just before getting back to the car thanks Scubacrazy666 think i will go back there just for the walk and wildlife sometime TFTC

Came into this one via Comadai and found it to be a very worthwhile run, though a little tough on the ankles Enjoyed the trip immensely, found the reason for the cache name on the way out and tried both ways before returning to the car via Long Forest Road. Thanks for a great day out!
think we took the wrong way into this one, up and down hills over a sketchy looking creek but well worth it, took plastic horse left flower seeds tftc

It is a worry when the cache description says "You should be able to return to your transport in under an hour", but the cache is originally packed with emergency gear (and a deck of cards to pass the time)!
A nice walk down the hill, in a park that I have been to before.
Thanks, Robmc.

Called here again along with Robmc and Captain Tomato. A bit steeper than I remembered but didn't mind the walk anyway.
Found with Bushfire and Vicfire whilst on a caching day out. We took the long steep route in and the steep long route out. A nice bit of bush and a good walk in and out. We located the cache fairly quickly and made sure it was well hidden on our leaving. This was my 300th cache, so thanks Ian and Penny for the hide! TNLN.
Speedy Stamps, junior vicfire and Bushfire journeyed up to Bacchus Marsh and beyond for a day’s caching. This was our sixth cache for the day and found at 12.15. It took us twenty minutes to walk into this cache and glad that we went down the steep long and returned by the long steep. I now know the meaning of the cache title. This stroll took us through some lightly timbered bushland and we enjoyed it no end. Found the very full cache and had trouble getting everything back into the container. Thanks ian & penny for bringing us to this lovely area. NI-NO.

I'd checked out access points and routes for this one a while back - but must have forgotten most of what I'd decided because I think I made it a bit longer than strictly necessary. It didn't matter, as I got to see a bit more of the area - although it was such a nasty day I spent the whole time with my fingers crossed that it wouldn't rain (if it did, it was going to be hailing as well with conditions the way they were). Anyway, the rain mostly held off and I arrived at GZ and was able to make a quick find. I think the weather must have kept all the wildlife in their beds - because all I saw while doing 4 caches in the area were a few birds!

Found while exploring this dry bushland area. I had been meaning to explore some of the walks in the area and the local caches have given me a reason to come poking around. I have spent two days this week in the area and really enjoyed it. I'll head a little north to attempt the caches that are a bit further afield soon. I'd recommend down the steep up the long. This is one of those caches that I have been meaning to do for a long time but just never managed to have the time when in the area. Today was just perfect weather for it and decided to go "Long", after a brisk walk we arrived at GZ and the cache was a nice easy find. Once the log was signed we thought about using "Steep" for the return journey but ended up using the same "Long" instead .
Took Nothing
Left A "Keeper of Time" + 3D Stickers
We really love this type of cache and thank ian-and-penny for showing us this great area.

Ran out of time to do this one on Sunday arvo so I managed to come home this way today. Not sure if i entered from the correct spot, but after nice walk through the bush of just over 1km managed to find it. Nice spot, would like to come for a longer look around. Just filled out log.

Finally found the hidden entrance to the shorter of the tracks to GZ and head off. Great to see this type of countryside out here. We all had a great walk and hope to come back out here again to walk the other tracks.

Decisions, decisions … but I think I chose wisely. Fortunately the steep was not too long (and was downhill) and then, on return, the long was not too steep. This was just as well, because it was very warm in the late afternoon spring sun. This was interesting countryside, and there were lovely views at GZ. There seem to have been a couple of visits recorded in the log book that didn't make it onto the website, so this is not quite as rarely-visited a cache as I had thought. Thanks for bringing me here (TFBMH); TNLN.
I've just realised that I am the first visitor for nearly 6 months! A shame as this is a nice area and there is still water in the creek pools. However, If there are two muggles in a forest, where are they going to be? Sitting on the seat of course! If the cache had been anywhere else in the forest it would have been ok! Fortunately I only had to wait about 15 minutes (I was going nowhere after the drive and walk in) and the cache was soon found with good coordinates. Thanks Ian-and-Penny for bringing me here.
Dear Ian and Penny,
We found your cache today at 3:15pm as the ninth of eighteen on our Sunbury to Ballan Expedition. While we were at "Merri Minute" we saw a lot of fire engines heading off down the highway. It turned out to be a small scrub fire which was in someones yard right on the road that leads to the access road to this cache but by the time we had arrived, the fire was thankfully out. We finally realised where the name of this cache came from once we started our walk. It's funny when you first see a cache name and description, you have a mental picture of what it will be like and I had always imagined this one to be a trudge up a steep hill. We managed the return trip in about 35 minutes and the countryside reminded us of mallee scrub but without the sand. Thanks for our 4th Ian and Penny cache.
Kind Regards,
D & S B-A

Found at 16:14hrs. A fitting name for this cache hide. Quite an enjoyable walk around the area. TN. Left an eraser. Thanks again I & P.
