Rebel Acts and I spent another enjoyable few hours wandering the eastern and southeastern suburbs looking for plastic containers. With many hills conquered I was able to hang up the boots tonight with 42 finds. A few drinks later and I was fast asleep content with the experience. Thanks. Archived but available.

Found @ 8:15am, find # 3450.

This week I was running solo, so I decided that I would go for early morning run, I left home and the weather was fine, only to find the weather at my target area to be not as good, oh well a bit of moisture is not going to hurt.
We will call this reserve, the two for one reserve with the five new Pinkpiggy caches as well as the five old archived caches from Da Bugs, but one seems to be missing, plus another that I had already found.
This was another one that was in great condition. After climbing the embankment and the use of the hint the cache was soon found.

Thanks to Da Bugs for placing this cache.

Having just had a series of caches published in this park, we were alerted by another cacher that there was previously a series in park, but they had being archived.

Tried to find out where they had being and stumbled accross the series, and noted a a cacher (Biggles1024), who had gone looking for our caches had also found some of these on the same day, well we figured we may as well go for the hunt, this series almost meets the 161metre seperation from ours, accept for one, so it turned out to be interesting.

Well we found Caches 1, 2 and 4. 3 appeared to be missing, and couldnt solve the final without the clue from 3, although will try to piece together some co-ords if we get time.
Was fun seeing where these were in comparison to ours, the 3 caches found all all still in good condition.
tftc Da Bugs if you still get these emails.

Find #1342

My goal for today was to head to Upper Beacy to find three caches that were published about a month ago and then head back to Hallam to find the remainder of the caches along the Hallam Trail. Imagine my surprised when, just as I was finishing breakfast, five new caches were published in the very park where the archived caches might be.
I expected some local cachers to get there first so I wasn't in any great hurry and just ambled my way northward.
My third archived find. Add to that the number of FTF's I'd gained in this park today and I was a very happy camper.

Found @ 2:49. I tagged along on a post 11.11.11.11 event cache run with C@H and Spladem to do this series. We divided up the tasks at GZ, with Covert logging, Spladem cleaning up the cache contents, and I grabbed the info for number 5. I made the find on this one. Took detritus, left nothing, log was signed and an enjoyable time was had. Thanks for the cache.

1.31pm

I was in the area and on the hunt for a group of caches that were not micros and I could walk between them, this series hit the nail on the head.

I parked the car and headed out on the circuit for this series.

The track started to level out and I could hear the running water of a nearby creek. This was a very unexpected hiding spot, I was initially searching the wrong side of the track, but I checked the clue and was soon put right. Nice spot, but now on to number one up up up the hill.

Thanks to Da Bugs for the cache as well as the whole series.

Found @1555 #487
Well at this stage I was abit unsure if I should attempt this series of caches in this area due to the time of day. I also parked rather close to this cache and was thinking upon walking to GZ if I had done the right thing parking so close... A problem on my return. This cache was found easily after a bit of climbing. Cache is still in good condition. Now onto the next one. TFTC, TNLN.

Big Grin 2nd find for today. Found the large tree stump but couldn't find the cache. What happened was two other geocachers came along and found it. We thanked them and then typed the coordinates into our GPS and off we went.

29-Jan-10
Parked the car at about 3:00am and headed into the park with the GPSr pointing the way and torchlight showing the way. Got to GZ and started the search and soon realised this was going to be tricky to find due to the endless available hiding spots in the area. The GPS was moving around a fair bit due to the tree coverage. I was pretty happy to find the cache after only a 10 minute search. TNLNSL. TFTC.

24-01 2nd find of the day at 14:34 and 852nd find in total.
This one threw Echo a bit even with the hint cracked but after reading some of the past logs it all made sense and the cache was in hand. After it was opened to sign the log Echo noticed the metal token used to find the puzzle cache...
Bugger...
Now back to #1 to note it's clue too...
(''\(OoO)/'') Thanks Da Bugs for the caching fun!

Only two of our company made a serious effort to get this one, but the menfolk were good with advice, and help on the way back. An enjoyable find, TFTC.

20-Sep-09
squalid neglected to state that the menfolk did considerably more than offer support and encouragement - one of us actually identified the hide, and assisted the brave women folk on their descent from GZ, which had all the elegance of a couple of wild animals trampling through the undergrowth...

I parked near the fire access road about 120m away and made my way to caches #2 and #3 from here. I was thankful for a regular size container here as the coords had me floating a bit. This clue proved to be my nemesis, it seems I misread it and ended up wasting 30 minutes searching for the final cache.

Thanks,

Off slipping and sliding down the track to No.2. The GPS was moaning and groaning about the tree cover, but the clue helped heaps.
We did consider driving, but the park was very inviting and the walk not long. (It was a bit sunny in the morning)

Found by Bob at 0930

I had a couple of hours to kill while my wife was doing a market at the Berwick Leisure Centre, so I took the opportunity to head off and visit this little series. Quite heavy rain the day before was possibly going to make some of the steep sections a little tricky, so I parked near numbers 2 & 3 and did them 1st. The damp bush was making for a high EPE, but I was able to locate the cache quite quickly by using the clue.

Thanks Da Bugs - it's a lovely area.

Found on 30/10/05 @ 1048 AEDT. The 18th of 58 caches for the day with Facitman for the Spring Caching Carnival.

We had to hide from passing muggles after finding the cache, and got a curious look when one of them looked back after we emerged from the bush and started heading for the next cache. I'm sure they wondered where we came from Wink.

I was actually after Chookies Line of sight series when this one showed up closer and as it was getting late I decided to go for it, but having not prepared properly I hadn't read through all your series and was on the trail before I realised they were all in the one park and so had brought only info sheet 2. An early wrong turn while the GPS was settling in had me soon discover that No 4 was closest. Thank goodness I had enter the waypoints before leaving home. So in actual fact this cache ended up being my third find in the series. Took t-bag, left creature. Thanks Da Bugs

03-Apr-05
I remember this area very well because at 2am on 17th Feb 1983 we were driving past. The fire had been through about 4 hrs earlier and this area was still glowing red.

We had spent the night in our car at the Upper Beaconsfield oval with a few other cars. We watched the fireballs fly over, the trees and houses burning and heard things exploding. When we got out of the car we could wring out the sweat from all our clothes.

We survived and got to our home in Harkaway to find the CFA had put out a fire on our house just in time. Only minor damage to the house and the horses survived. Everything else on our property was burnt.

We found this one in the 3rd place we looked. We had to go back because we forgot to write down the coords.

Took key ring

Trying to complete this series, I look a look at the set of co-ordinates for this cache and a pained expression crossed my face. Oh no! Down.
Down means up at some point and this was mightily down.
Ah well, set off down the track and made my way to this cache location. It was a dry warm morning so it wasn't muddy, but remain slippery as the small stones will roll beneath your feet.
Made it to the cache site and started looking. It was obviously a good place as much of the area has foot damage. Rather than contribute to the damage, I resorted to the clue and had the cache a few moment later.
TNLNSL.
Thanks Da Bugs, Number 3 beckons (and will it be up, probably)

Found this one no probs... but then the wheels fell off...

Found after half waking half sliding down track. The wattle trees are in full bloom.

I did wonder about the yo-yo - I saw an "in" entry in the logbook, but it wasn't in the cache (I didn't read the log until just now), either way, no sign of the yo-yo.

in: two (yep, count 'em - two) cisco pens
out: whistle

I couldn't get a decent GPS signal around this GZ. I actually had two GPSRs with me: a Garmin and a Magellan. Neither wanted to cooperate. I decrypted the hint, and it was a regulation find thereafter at 1150. Something strange happened while I was making my swap. I intended putting in a yo-yo, but it slipped from my hand and rolled under a log. I searched around and even did some digging, but it didn't reappear! If anyone sees a bright green yo-yo in the vicinity, please put it in the cache. I retired to consider the clues. I thought for a sec that I might have been the victim of a Rabbito-like sting, but after a little thought, I was soon away. (Also, see my log for AWM3 about the dogs near the western border of the reserve.)

IN: Bag closing clip, toy car, (and an invisible yo-yo)
OUT: Triangular bandage (that's going into my caching kit)

I visited this park around 2 years ago and walked all around it. It was on my list of potential spots to hide a cache, but now I've had to cross it off. (Note to self - if I don't place caches using places on my list, they'll all have to be scratched).

Found this one with Kiwideb after a fruitless search in the wrong area. We eventually decrypted the clue, only to find we were some distance off the cache. However, with the clue, we were able to locate the cache easily.

After noting the partial co-ordinate for the main cache, I took a Souvenir Keyring and left an Emergency Blanket. Thanks for the cache and the series.

31-Jul-04
Found 16:00, we think we saw were either Muzza or KiwiDeb had slipped down the embankment Smile

Took Emergency blanket and left whistle, thanks Da Bugs.

Met up with Muzza to do this series of caches. At the 1st location we searched high and low but could we find it? No!
I searched a wee way from where Muzza was and the ground gave way and my foot dissappeared down a hole Sad. Brand new shoe and all.
We deciphered the clue and the location was a long way from where we were looking. I found the cache 1st, I'm just to good. Thank goodness you had a clue.
Many thanks for the cache Da Bugs my 1st of 7 for the day.

And we have whisked TB RaceHeks away again.

Great little bit of bush, & a perfect spot for hiding a cache (very unlikely to be disturbed by muggles). On the way down here from cache#3 in the series we observed several horse riders aboard some very steady mounts, given how steep & slippery between #3 & #2. My little chick was already loving the "Adventure" & then along came the GG's. Apparently I now have to go and buy a horse, a farm to put it on, & get it a friend! -THANKS!!!!

We very much enjoy doing several "non-multi" caches in a series or one close area, just like this. Plenty of excitement for the younger chicks without having to wait too long between treasures!-Fantastic

We have had a great day & a great chance to talk one on one. Thankyou once again to Da Bugs.
Took Pen/stamp Left New triangular bandage & Race Heks TB
P.S. I'll send you the bill for the farm Big Grin

18-Jul-04
Found at 3:30pm. After logging a find at #1, and finding we had been beaten to the 1st place by Team Crackers, we were surprised to see that we had been beaten to #2 by both Team Crackers and Chookies. Did that mean Chookies were still in the park too and we were racing around opposite sides of the park? We were now hoping that we would both meet up somewhere and also that we would have a race to the final cache at the same time.

Again, just as we were about to search for the cache, the same group of three ladies on horseback rode we had seen at #1 had ridden around the opposite side of the park and stopped for a break, this time around 15m from GZ. We once again stood around pointing at the trees, pointing at the grass pointing down the track and engaging in deep conversation about the universe in general. It had appeared that one of the riders had had trouble negotiating the steep slippery path on that side of the park and was now leading the horse rather than riding. After a couple of minutes the horses and ladies had split up and moved on, now assured we were very strange people who were either afraid of ladies or horses or ladies on horses and we claimed and logged another easy find.

Thanks Da Bugs from D & S B-A.
Took TB, left a coca-cola yo-yo.

18-Jul-04
This was our third find in this series and a very slippery one at that. We only had one person pass by, the same walker that passed us at Ash#1. No 1 had a bad time here, forget what he took and left and as we found out later also messed up the writing down of the clue.
Thanks Da Bugs
